Windows 8: hidden wireless networks will reconnect not on restart/recovery even if it is set to reconnect automatically. Is there a fix/hidden control panel?
I bought and installed Windows 8 Pro to update my ExoPC slate Windows 7 and, while the overall experience is much better, there are several problems that I need to address.
I had the same problem and found this thread. I was searching with the command netsh AlbertChew mentioned and found a solution:
Find out the name of your profile:
netsh wlan show profiles
Configured to connect to a hidden network:
netsh wlan set profileparameter
My computer immediately connected to the network and it has survived several reboots since then.

After the installation of Software Distribution Service 3.0 update my wireless network camera does not work how do I uninstall Software Distribution Service 3.0
How did you receive the update?
Was it via Windows Update or Microsoft Update?
Before the changes are made to your computer, the system restore points are made. This is so that you can go back in case an update causes problems.
Follow these steps:
1. click on the Start button
2. click on accessories
3. click on system tools
4. click on system restore
5. click on next
6. in the calendar that appears, select the one which refers to Software Distribution Service 3.0 and click Next
After the collection of certain data, the computer will restart, and the update will be gone.
Hope this helps

Wireless network adapter could not be activated
My laptop also did EXACTLY the same thing in the morning today. No effect with the wireless on switch on the computer. The light is always red. Last night an automatic update that happened (update for windows Vista (KB955430) 09/05/2009 09:03), which cannot be deleted. I don't know if this problem is related with the update. My laptop is HP Pavilion dv6439nr. Running Windows Vista Home Premium (Service Pack 1). Wireless adapter is "broadcom wireless 802.11 b/g WLAN PCI" that is gone now.Windows network diagnostics shows "this computer doesn't have a card installed and configured wireless network."HP Home Network Center shows "Wireless status: disabled; When I try to enable wireless LAN, it shows "wireless network adapter could not be activated.I tried to scan and reinstall the driver but the device does not appear. The wireless router works fine with other laptops. If anyone has a solution it would be greatly appreciated.Thank youAlboury,
It seems at this point that your wireless network adapter has a hardware problem. Check out this troubleshooting guide step by step on the HP Pavilion support web site. If you can't get your active wireless card, you will need to contact HP or repair HP authorized repair for hardware Center.Let us know if we can provide assistance.

Wireless network adapter is not installed and configured
I have recently re installed windows vista for my laptop dell inspiron 1545. I am not able to connect to wireless internet, it says that the wireless network adapter is not installed and configured. How do I install it and where can I get the wireless network adapter. I have a cd or anything for it. Thank you
You can get in trouble with your device drivers, firmware and/or software. Go to the Device Manager by going to start / find and type Device Manager and enter and then double-click on the program icon that appears. Check each device to a red x, yellow! or white? These identify devices with problems probably (drivers, but also of conflict or something else). Click on each for more details and troubleshooting tips. If you need to get drivers (and you shouldget from Dell for the wireless adapter at all you have time to do - they can help way beyond simply solve this problem), let the computer dealer or the manufacturer of the device (NOT of Microsoft Updates). In fact, you must disable automatic updates in Windows Update driver as follows:http://www.addictivetips.com/windows-tips/how-to-disable-automatic-driver-installation-in-windows-vista/. Follow these steps to get the drivers: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/driverssupport/ht/driverdlmfgr.htm. Once you have the drivers, you can install them via the Manager device as follows:http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/193584-device-manager-install-driver.html. > http://support.microsoft.com/kb/244617.
The adapter is inside the laptop. You don't need to do something with it to install it. Install the drivers, firmware or software for it and your version of Vista from Dell (all that apply) "install". You must then go to start / Control Panel / Network and sharing Center and configure the adapter with the appropriate parameters and to establish the appropriate network connections. This will take place in settings required by your ISP, and maybe your router or modem (so you may need to contact them if you don't know the settings).
Here are the procedures for Vista with Windows7 network layout that can help:http://www.windowsnetworking.com/articles_tutorials/Windows-7-Understanding-Network-Administration-Configuration.html.

Wireless network adapter does not work on my Satellite A200
Hello
My wireless network adapter does not work under Vista. If I press FN + F8 nothing happens. Wireless communication is always offline.
What can I do?
Details:
Typ: Atheros AR5008X Version: 7.2.0.164
Laptop Satellite 200
PSAE6EPlease help me!
Thanks in advance!Phil
BIOS bug? I don t think so
First of all, you must make sure that this isn't a hardware problem. In this case, insert the Toshiba Recovery CD and reinstall the operating system of this device. This will outline the laptop to factory settings. Notes; This would format the whole HARD drive.
After the new installation, you must activate the WLan switch on the side of books, and you can then use the switch button FN + F8 to select the WiFi network.
I assume that you have already configured your Wlan router. So the same settings such as the SSID, encryption of WLan, etc. must be defined on the laptop too.

Receive the message error "wireless network connection is not a valid ip configuration.
Original title: unable to connect to wifi on windows 7 on Dell laptop
Help! I went on vacation and used my laptop to DVD play only. I am now back home and cannot connect to the Internet. I tried all sorts of resolutions without result. When I use the Troubleshoot utility, it tells me to stop my router and turn it back on. I've done this multilpe times at this point. Once I keep in the resolution of the problems, I get the same message again and again: "wireless network connection is not a valid ip configuration. I disabled McAfee and morning services. I used the command prompt to reset WINSOCK, IPv4 and 6. I turned power on and off wireless by using the key on the keyboard. I disabled and enabled the network connection. I have the driver-upated. I know the router works properly from my iphone and iPad is all connected without problem. I removed and added to the wireless network. In the network and sharing Center (I would copy and paste the view up here, if I could, but since I can't get online...), it is said "unidentified network, no internet access" on the right side, and he also says that I'm connected to a public network. There is no link to click for the public network and I can't seem to find a way to change it to the House (there are no options, no links). I tried to solve this problem, after I get home from work every night and I'm so frustrated that nothing works. Please, please help!
Kristine,
Please try these steps before replacing the adapters and let us know the results.

Sometimes I leave my computer on at night. Sometimes I notice that when I get back to him the next day that he has limited connection to the network I use. When I try to disconnect it from the network, then reconnect, it says that it cannot connect. Then, when I try to restart my computer it is sitting at a screen saying "stop down". "." My wireless network software also is unaccessable in which she does not open and if I close the Task Manager and reopen it flashes for a second then closes.
However when I turn it on manually and then turn it on again, which apparently is not good for the computer, I am once again able to connect to the network with full access.
Can someone please tell me why this keeps happening and how to fix it?

Wireless network will not automatically connect at startup
I have Windows 7 Professional. Whenever I start, I have to click on the wireless icon & enter key code to connect to the net. When I go to the Network & Sharing Center, active network shows. When I go on manage wireless networks, active network are not. When I try to add manually, I enter all the data, and then click Next, I get the notice that access is denied. I have admin rights.. Spoke people w/HP & router without result. Just need to find the solution that will automatically connect to the internet to start without the need to enter the key code each time I start. Would appreciate suggestions.
Open research, open services of type "services.msc".
Scroll down to "wlan auto config" right click, stop the service.Access
"C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Wlansvc\ Delete everything in this folder, leaving only a folder called 'profiles' delete everything in the folder"profiles"except for a folder called 'interfaces' delete all 'interfaces' file).Restart "wlan auto config" to connect to your wireless network, enter
your password (make sure that the connection is automatically checked)
Restart your computer to work, your computer will now connect to your network wireless automatically at startup. -
Windows 7 enterprise - wireless network does not work at the office
I'm a remote worker for a company. I travel offices across the United States and hit this problem before, but thought it was just a transitory problem. However, now I am in our headquarters and the problem has resurfaced. Essentially, networks under Windows 7 Enterprise associates for wireless access points but cannot obtain a DHCP address. I tried the usual: enough and ipconfig ipconfig / renew, I took it to our support people who confirmed that the configuration is correct, we have tried uninstalling the driver and put back in place, all in vain. The configuration of the machine is:
Dell Latitude E6400
Windows 7 Enterprise x 64
Wireless: Intel 5300 AGN
Driver:
Vendor: Intel
Version: 12.4.1.4
Digital signer: Microsoft
Path: C:\Windows\system32\DRIVERS\netw5v64.sys
The wireless works now in my office at home (I have a Windows 2003, Cisco 1200 AP domain and use WPA2 with PEAP to authenticate). Please note that the configuration has NOT changed since the last time I was in this office (about 3 weeks ago). We are a Windows 2008 R2 using NPS area (AFAIK). Help desk support people are completely baffled. The good news is that the cable works fine.

"Wireless network connection is not a valid ip configuration" Windows 7
I recently uninstalled McAfee antivirus on my aspire one NET accountant running Windows 7. Since then, I can't connect to the internet, I get a "wireless network connection has a valid ip configuration" of all other pc to connect to my router wireless without any problem.
Any advice or help?
Firstly, to check that the files are not corrupted, run the following analysis.
Start > type CMD
Right click on CMD and select run as administrator
Type sfc/scannow
Press enter
Note: There is a space between sfc and / scannow
The scan will take a few moments
Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833
Once the process is complete, you may receive one of the following messages:
- Windows resource protection did not find any breach of integrity.
This means that you have not all missing or damaged system files.
- Windows resource protection could not perform the requested operation.
To resolve this issue, perform the analysis in safe mode System File Checker
(http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows/start-computer-safe-mode)and make sure that the files PendingDeletes and PendingRenames exist under %WinDir% \WinSxS\Temp.
- Windows resource protection finds files corrupted and managed to fix it. Details are provided in convertible bonds. Newspaper %WinDir% \Logs\CBS\CBS.log.
To display detailed information on the analysis of system files and restore, go to the display of the details of the System File Checker process.
- Windows resource protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. Details are provided in convertible bonds. Newspaper %WinDir% \Logs\CBS\CBS.log.
To repair the corrupted files manually, see the details of the System File Checker process to find the damaged file, and then manually replace the corrupted file with a good copy of the file.
Second, have you tried to download the drivers and save them to your desktop?
Close all window and/or applications
Right-click on the file and select run as administrator
Or, restart and start typing the F8 key
Select Mode safe mode with networking
Again, right-click on the drivers that you saved on the desktop and select run as administrator

Wireless network adapter has not been detected in windows 7 ultimate
Hey there. I use the HP Pavilion tx 1000, and it runs on windows 7 ultimate. It worked without a problem, but recently the wireless adapter was disabled. When I looked in the Device Manager, the wireless card is not indicated. The bluetooth is turned on but and the wireless switch is turned on.
Hi Tulip.
I would say you can check with the service WLAN is started and set to automatic, if the WLAN service is stopped, I suggest you to start the service and put it on automatic.
Please follow the steps to start the WLAN service.
(a) click onStart, type services.msc in the start search box and press on enter.
(b) Autoconfig SelectWLAN in the list, right-click right properties
(c) Chenge startup type automatic
(d) click the onStart
(e) click apply Ok.
(f) restart the computer and check if the wireless adapter is detected in Device Manager.
If the service is started, you can try to download the latest drivers for wireless network card on the HP site for the computer and install it and check if it helps.
Access the link below and choose the right model and download the drivers.
http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/pfinder?LC=en&DLC=en&cc=us&tool=&query=HP+Pavilion+TX+1000+#n29
You can also contact HP support to check if they have any diagnostic tool to check if the wireless adapter works fine.

I hope this helps. Let us know the results.

I disabled it and retarted the computer, but no luck. Finally, when I look at the network connection, the wireless card is showing all the bars in green, but with a big red X. And Yes, I made sure the network is working correctly.Hello
Atheros AR5007EG wireless card is not on the compatibility list.
Check with the manufacturer if it is compatible with Windows7.
You can also check here
http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/compatibility/Windows-7/en-us/default.aspx
And you better get to Windows7 RC version.

Wireless network card does not work with Windows 7 myt
Hello!
I installed Windows 7 on an old laptop nc6120 and I can't see any of the wireless networks. With cable, everything works perfectly.
You are the very welcome.
Here is the link for the driver you need for the WiFi Intel Pro 2200 B/G card.
That should make it work.
Then start the windows update program and see if he can find a newer driver.
If this isn't the case, run the utility driver Intel update and he must find a newer driver.
http://www.Intel.com/p/en_US/support/detect
You must have Java installed to run the Intel driver update utility.

Original title: lost our connection to network WPA2-Personal wireless internet which is not even listed as an option to connect to the internet, how do solve us this problem?
Our WPA2-Personal wireless network fails to connect to the Internet and not yet in the available networks? Is this a problem with the adapter or modem (Cox)? And how to fix this? Help!
Hello
Check with the manufacturer of your router Support and Forums. If the router is configured to not show
the SSID, then it will not appear in the available list. Maybe the router must be
reset.Log in to hidden networks configuration of the control panel - network and sharing Center - a
new connection or network.I hope this helps.
