WINDOWS 8 NEW INSTALLATION

I just installed windows 8 on vista. Missing my Microsoft office and other programs. How can I fix it? Also how can I change the classic interface Vista / windows 7?

Depending on how you have it installed, you may need to install your other programs from their original disks.  But to check, go to your departure from the screen and type "word" (for example) to see if it can find Microsoft Word.

There is no classic interface for Windows 8 directly, but I have written on how to do it here:

  • Upgrade to Windows 8 Pro's PC OEM of Windows 8 (new installation)

I recently bought a new PC (Sony Vaio SVL241290X, Dec 2012) with Windows 8 is installed.  I then bought a Windows 8 Pro Upgrade license.  I would like to install Windows 8 Pro as a clean install in order to reformat my hard drive and also remove pre-installed software (my PC came with 2 partitions recovery and a lot of software VAIO...).  Windows 8 Windows 8 Pro upgrade is possible, but does not allow me to do what I want, as indicated in the previous sentence.

When I bought my Win 8 Pro license I created an iso, which I then burned on a DVD.  After spending some time to find how simply boot from the drive (had to change MODE of BOOT UEFI to LEGACY in the BIOS, that I can enter only with the key Sony 'Help'...), I was finally able to start installing Windows 8 Pro disc.

After the start of the DVD, I reached the configuration of Windows 8 screen where I accepted the default settings (language, time, keyboard) and click "next".  I then clicked on "install now".  After a brief loading time, I get a message stating: "the product key entered don't match any available to install Windows images. Enter a different product key.  The provided only option is to click on 'OK', what I do, which returns just the on-screen 'Install now', that will make a loop back me the product key message if I click it.
Of some Internet research, I discovered that Windows 8 keys are now included in the BIOS, this is why I am never have the opportunity to enter my new Pro license (is this correct Microsoft?).
    Can you help me?
    Things I've tried:
    1. I upgraded to Windows 8 Windows 8 Pro (in order to "update the BIOS/firmware key"...) and then returned a clean install.  It not worked as I always get the product key message.
Things I don't want or think I should be compelled to make:
    1. install Windows 7 from the disc and then upgrade to Windows 8 Pro and remove the windows.old folder.
    Thank you.

    Hello

I never tried the upgrade in the way you describe... which I figured just enabled the features already on your machine, but wasn't sure.

I don't think that reinstall Win 7 and the upgrade work is the nature of your upgrade method. It seems to need to win 8, not 7.

From what I can tell, the only way for you to do the clean install would be with the real upgrade of the other versions.  The $40 or $70 a, depending on download or retail sales.

If you are interested, I've seen a number of online stores sell upgrade Windows 8 Pro (retail) for $30 - $40 after rebate (NewEGG) and in one case $40 outright (MicroCenter). That doesn't seem right, but it seems to be like that.

Thank you, but $40 upgrade option is one I bought (via http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/buy?ocid=GA8_O_WOL_SM_AppsOffer_FPP_Null) and I got with it.
That's what I ended up having to do:
    1. perform a clean install of Windows 7 on my OEM Windows 8.  I installed by booting from a Windows 7 disc that allowed me to reformat the hard disk (and remove all partitions in the process).
    2. after installation of Windows 7 (not active) on a completely wiped hard drive, tried to boot from my disk Windows 8 Pro (bought from link above) to see if I could now preform a clean install.  Surprisingly, it did not work, I got the same message that I received before ("the entered product key does not match... (', see my first post).  This leads me to believe that my key OEM Windows 8 original (not pro) is indeed stored in the BIOS/firmware somewhere...
    3. given that start from my Windows 8 Pro disc does not work, I did the upgrade to Pro 8 for Windows 7.  I chose to 'Keep nothing', but still finished with a folder Windows.old (about 10 GB), I simply deleted.
In the end, I got what I wanted: an installation of Windows 8 Pro without any software preinstalled or wasted scores OEM/manufacturer.
This isn't the way I think it should have been done, but I think it's the way Microsoft is forced to make.
  • Fixed a crash issue repeated with a new installation of Firefox on Windows 8.1 28

It is not so much a question as a contribution to the solution.

On a new computer running Windows 8.1 a new installation of Firefox 28 has been repeatedly crash or freeze ("no response"). Loading pages can be slow and scrolling in staircase. Totally unusable, especially after playing content with Shockwave.

Although I had not installed the plug-ins outside Shockwave and Adobe Acrobat, I have had a look and was surprised to see that I had never asked. I disabled those I don't think I need:
    Intel's Identity Protection technology
    Photo Gallery
WildTangent Games App alarm presence V2.

Since these disabling Firefox works well. But I was forced to use another browser for a week until you find the time to research the problem.

Why are these called not - for and of course (at least one) annoying plugins installed by default? It does not have any good Firefox!

Plugins are not included in the Firefox download, because Mozilla is not allowed to distribute. Firefox automatically detects the plugins on your system through a number of methods, so it was a good idea to revisit and disable those you don't need. I have really no idea whence the special ones.

  • How to reinstall the Windows 7 upgrade on vista for new installation or in the event of system failure?

I love periodically re - install a new operating system after reformatting hadr drive. In the past it was the of syetem of full operation and not just an upgrade. I have to be sure that it is not complicated, as I want to install the upgrade to Windows 7 (family pack) on 3 PC/laptops running Vista. I would upgrade as detailed instructions on how I would do a new installation using the Windows 7. This is important because I don't want to create a nightmarish experience of backup, install the original operating system, install the upgrade, etc. etc. etc.

If you upgrade a computer Vista Win7 and need or want to do a clean install (or repair install) of Windows, you will need to reinstall Vista and then switch to Win7 again.

Your question has nothing to do with Windows Update. Ask questions about the upgrade instead: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7install/threads ~ Robear Dyer (PA Bear) ~ MS MVP (that is to say, mail, security, Windows & Update Services) since 2002 ~ WARNING: MS MVPs represent or work for Microsoft

You understand that you will not be able to upgrade Windows XP to Windows 7?  He will have to do a clean install.

The Council supports Windows 7, you can get the drivers here (the chipset drivers should be the first drivers you install after installing the operating system.)

    Hi TedWie,

Windows update no longer works for systems with SP2 or less. To check your systems service pack level, click on Start, run and typeWinver in the Run dialog box. If your system does not already have Windows XP SP3 installed, download and install XP SP3 from the link below. (Ignore warnings about professionals of computing and network facilities).

  • New installation of Windows XP does not - UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME

I'm trying to do a fresh install of Windows XP.

    Soyo SY - P41 845PE Lite MB
    Pentium 4, 2.4 GHz
    1.5 GB of Ram

This is a computer that I use every day and who usually has a hard drive with WindowsXP SP3. I just want to have a spare hard drive with a new installation of Windows XP on it.

But installation can not. Usually to auto restart after step 'Copy files' of the installation process. The Windows splash screen appears briefly, and then blue screen message, "a problem has been detected and Windows has shut down to prevent damage to your computer. UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME"followed a few Advisory paragraph which does not apply because the operating system is not yet loaded, then:" technical information: * STOP: (0x8951c900) 0xc0000185 0x00000000 0x00000000. "

Once he got as far as the Windows Installer screen (one who tells me it will take 39 minutes down left) then a box seemed to read: "Fatal Error. An error was encountered which prevents the installation to continue. Installation failed to install the product catalogs. This is a fatal error. The Setup logs files should contain more information. "Read the Setup log file:" error: the signature for the installation of Windows XP Professional is not valid. " The error code is 80096001. An error occurred during trust verification. »

Another time, after you press enter in the "WindowsXP installation on the selected element", I INSTANTLY got a screen which read; «An error has occurred during installation has been updated of the partition information on 152626 MB disk 0 at Id 0 on bus 0 on atapi [MBR].» Setup cannot continue. »

Things, that I already tried that did not work:

Using two different Windows XP Professional installation disks.

Withdrawal and tries to install with different RAM sticks in place.

Two IDE 40 son different cables, which work fine on this computer.

Two different Western Digital disks hard two test without error using the WD diagnostic utility.

My knowledge is limited, but that seems to leave only a bad card mother, right?  However, as I say, the computer works well with this old install Windows XP on it. He simply refuses to let me do a new installation on another hard drive.

What other steps can I take to get a new installation on a hard drive with this computer?

Thanks to each of you for your attention to my problem.

I spent $4 on a 80 wire cable IDE (to replace the 40-wire cable I used) and I was finally able to get Windows XP installed today.

Because I had done installations in the past with the 40 wire cable, I don't understand why it didn't work anymore. I guess the age of the cable, but I actually had multiple failures with a whole new thread 40 I had just bought. A mystery, but at least I now have a new facility and I am inclined to believe the 80 wire will make for a faster computer.

  • I deleted something in the windows which caused my computer to not allow any new installation. How can I fix it?

I have reviewed all the files except the program files and System 32 and has done a lot of deletion due my computer of spinning and spinning and spinning... etc.  After that I tried to analyze something and scan it gave me a message that there is no driver found.  I tried to reinstall the driver and tried to reinstall another driver to a different scanner, but my computer does not have a configuration.  Can someone help me with this?

    • Tried a System Restore to a point before delete you?
    • You may need to perform a repair of Windows XP Installation , but you want to do this carefully if you have a newer version of Internet Explorer installed now.  It would work BETTER if you have your installation media of Windows XP with Service Pack 3 integrated into it because it is likely that you have Service Pack 3 installed on your computer now (and the 90 + updates come after that).
    • Finally - how are * your * backups of * your * stuff?  Your documents, your photos, your music, your bookmarks, your installable applications, your serial numbers and product keys, etc. and so on?  Also, do you know what hardware drivers your system needs to communicate correctly with all the material inside and connected to your computer?  (Belarc Advisor would be a good FREE tool to run and print the results if you can.  It lists a lot of this information for you.)  You maybe just to perform a new installation of Windows XP.

Come back - let us know what is happening and how things are going.

  • My product key on a new installation was invalid so then I activated by phone... now when I use windows update it does not work correctly

My product key on a new installation was invalid so then I activated by phone... now when I use windows update it is not working properly because it says that I don't have a genuine copy of windows... But it seems that the updates don't come down... is it ok to work this way?

To analyze and solve problems for Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag (download and save to the desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 ) tool
    Once saved, run the tool.
Click on the button continue, which will produce the report.
To copy the report in your response, click the button copy in the tool (ignore the error at this stage), and then paste (using r-click and paste or Ctrl + V) in your response.

Windows security updates will continue to come down the pipe under automatic updates, but you cannot access the General updates until the system to validate.

  • New installation on windows 7 pro 64-bit sees not connected wired Officejet 6500 E710a-f

    Hello!

New installation of Windows 7 Pro 64 bit on a gigahertz 3.40 AMD Phenom II X 4 965 with 8 GB of ram. Printer drivers worked on the same bench while he was running as Windows 7 Pro 32-bit.
After only install FF, AVG, and Acrobat (almost a clean install), downloaded the software HP Officejet full feature and pilot 2012-10-22, Version: 116,98, 28.8 M - OJ6500_E710n - z_1315.exe and tried to install the Officejet 6500 E710a f.

The printer has a manually set static IP and can be ping from the host. Clean Windows Firewall is disabled and stopped.

The web interface using the IP address of the printer comes with all the features works on FF.
Network status shows connected with IP address, hostname and Mac.

However, when installing the network audit is no ethernet connection. Even manually enter his public static IP address or hostname does not solve the problem.

Try the USB, the same question option. I see in Device Manager under other devices HPOfficejet 6500 and 6500 HPOfficejet - Fax with a blue questionmark.
(In the same "other devices" there are 2 Officejet 6500 with a yellow exclamation point - probably from failed network installation).

In the printers and devices window, the 6500 is displayed with the correct thumbnail, but with a yellow exclamation point icon. Law and by selecting the convenience store, Windows comes up with the message that no driver is installed and offers a solution.  The correction ends with the error that no drivers not found for the FAX. Re-apply the patch never finds the driver.

Anyone who has met something similar (and a solution)?

    Thanks for any help!

    Jack

After trying to do an install clean-install of 100% and once again, the driver software could not find the printer name or IP address.
Back at each stage, I noticed that I was not using the correct driver! For some reason I D/L the pilot E710n which is for HP Officejet 6500 a Plus e-All-in-One.
Whatever the difference, when installing the E710n for the model does not detect the printer, or via USB or Ethernet.
After you download the right driver for the E710a - f HP Officejet 6500 a e-All-in-One Printer (OJ6500_E710a - f_1315.exe) installation perfectly finished in a few minutes and everything goes well...

You would think, base or USB connectivity network should not be dependent on the specific differences sub-model. I was expecting that a bad driver interrogate the device after finding its IP address and display an error message with useful text.
