Windows 8 Pro freezes on my Samsung NP300E5Z-A07IN

Hi guys,.

I have recently upgraded to Windows 8 Pro to Windows 7 & since then it started to freeze every now and then...
It freezes for probably 2 minutes & start automatically works fine.
have you noticed that every time it freezes the access of disk on my laptop light is always on and not flashing.
have installed all windows updates & have all the updated drivers too (checked from the Manager of peripherals & Software Driver Reviver).

What should I do to solve it? its really frustrating me now.

Windows Update will do?

Thank you.

A friend suggested me to install Intel Rapid Storage Technology App for Windows 8 & it solved my problem.

I worked like a charm.

  • Windows 8 Pro x 64 boot Samsung SSD

    Hi all

I tried to figure this out for the last couple days. I'm at work now, but I'll try again when I get home. Here is my question-
I recently built my own computer. My pieces are-
    Motherboard ASRock Z77 Extreme 3
    Intel i5 3570 k
SAMSUNG SSD 120 GB (I think that 840 series)
Western Digital 1 TB hard drive
    Graphics EVGA Geforce GTX 660
8 GB RAM (I don't remember the brand of the stick on the top of my head)
I tried to do a clean install of Windows 8 Pro x 64 bit for the SSD. In the Setup screen, it detects two drives and I select the SSD drive and install it on the SSD. He moved very well I can say because no error message appears. But when the computer restarts and boots to the top, rises the symbol of Windows 8, the loading wheel little rises and they are there for about 2 seconds and then they disappear and the screen stays black with no mouse cursor or anything. Just a black screen and there just like that. I end up having to reboot the machine. I've done everything I can think of - I went into the BIOS and made sure the boot sequence is correct. I tried starting the SSD after restarting the machine with no result. The only difference is that when I did this and also removed the x 64 installation disc, Windows 8 comes and says that he was not able to load because it lacks a partition and so I try to troubleshoot it by performing an auto repair and diagnose the problem. When I do this, Windows says it can't auto repair. I did a reset and wiped clean car and tried again, but without any result. I get the screen that shows a partition is missing (and this happens only when I boot from the SSD with the x 64 disk drive) or I get a black screen.
Another thing I tried last night was to reformat the SSD and wipe them off, clean, disconnect the hard drive regularly so that the only smart thing was the SSD and then reinstall windows and try again, but again, nothing has changed; just black screen.
As far as I know, all my pieces are compatible with Windows 8 Pro. I'm at work at the moment, but as soon as I go home, I go back to work on that and I hope that you guys can give me some new approaches to this problem.
    Thank you all

    Hello

It would be better to install Win 8 to the SSD with the other hard drive unplugged...

Win 7 and 8 hide additional start install files on extra drives\partitions to the course. If you install with the attached HARD disk and then remove it later, windows does not start...

Generally, this can be corrected with a startup repair, but I would rather avoid it in the first place...

Format your SSD BEFORE installing Win 8. I prefer to use a 3rd party for this program...

You could get by reformat everything by doing a 'Clean' installation without future issues...

For what is the real cause of your problem, I suspect that you may need to set the SATA mode in Bios to AHCI... I got an OCZ Vertex, which would install OK and start OK after... After that win 8 detected all new material, I would get is a black screen.

Also, make sure that the SATA connector you are using is not configured for Raid...

In addition, try to remove the graphics card and install Win 8 with the HD4000 Intel. Once everything works, then add the NVidia.

I built a similar machine with a surfboard Z77 Extreme 4, and it is on this forum that I had the problem of the AHCI pop up.

  • Windows will ask drivers during the installation of Windows 7 Pro on samsung SSD 950

I'm doing a clean install of windows 7 Pro on a new Samsung 950 m2 Pro drive. My motherboard sees the drive but the windows 7 install is not and wonder which I can't find a driver. It is a new construction. Asus motherboard. I'm installing from the DVD, and everything starts fine until the Setup program cannot find the 950 pro. The 950 pro is the only player at this moment, I installed. Is there any solution for this?

Thanks for looking into this but I found a solution, all I had needed was the pilot for the 950 pro, once everything went as smooth as, say Kalua. Feel good that here the monster has increased.

  • my Windows xp pro computer was working fine, but after five days, when I stat from my computer I could show only the information of the bios on the screen and then the screen freezes

my Windows xp pro computer worked fine but after five days, when I stat my computer I could show only the bios information on the screen then the screen freezes, then I started ahead of time the computer starts at mode, but once again he the disply frozen. I couldn't start my computer. I have a lot of data in my hard drive. What can I do to start computer or recover my data?

    First run Memtest86 +:
It runs from a floppy disk or CD and should eliminate or confirm if your one or more of your memory
sticks are bad or the values of the SPD in the BIOS are correct.
Let it run for as long as you can: 2,4,6,8 or several hours (at least 3 full passes), if no errors, then your RAM is OK.

  • PCI-MXI-2 causes w/SP3 Windows XP Pro to freeze

Here are the specifications of the test machine which is the gel with the PCI-MXI-2.

    Motherboard: C7P67 (supermicro)

Mobo has no embedded video so I've tried three different cards PCIe...

Currently installed: Geforce GT 430 DDR3

RAM: VS2GB1333D3 total (Corsair): 8 GB RAM

    PSU: 550W

    No other devices are installed.

We have 2 cards PCI-MXI-2 and the two freeze Windows XP Pro w/SP3 at startup.

It gets to the desktop and then, about 30 seconds everything is frozen, unresponsive keyboard/mouse, nothing...

Removing the PCI-MXI-2 causes the operating system to work properly.

I installed the NIVXI331 software for the driver. We tried an another C7P67 motherboard, same problem.

I also tried different revisions of the BIOS as well as the latest BIOS for the motherboard, the same question.

We are trying to solve this problem with this particular motherboard (C7P67) for our client.

I have read the manual for the PCI-MXI-2 card and the rocking U17 matches what is on the card for a 'normal' functioning (1, 2, 3 switches are "off" with the exception of switch 4 "CT")

I also tried the two PCI expansion slots are available on the motherboard, the same question.

    Any suggestions please? Thank you!

Thanks for your response! For some reason, the cards work now with the motherboard. Nothing has changed.

    It was strange.

  • HP DM1-4110SD touchpad freeze and sometimes keyboard under Windows 8 Pro

    Hello

    I have the following problem:

When I use the netbook with Windows 8 Pro (64-bit) after some time, the keyboard or touchpad will freeze. I have seen under drivers and downloads there is a fix Windows 7 (KB2621491), but this fix is not available for Windows 8.

I tried to disable the sleep for the USB root hub, but that doesn't seem to work.

Is the fix is going to be available for Windows 8, or y at - it another way to make this work?

    Hi Speeder.

Most of the W7 drivers will work W8. I'm not sure that an individual. More than likely HP won't to material support for W8 on any system purchased before October 1, 2011.

Take a look at this document http://goo.gl/CO6uV , which provides information on the upgrade of Windows 7 to 8, driver compatibility and much more.

Please let me know if it helps.

  • Intermittent USB mouse freeze on Windows 7 Pro 64-bit. Tested with several mice that work fine on other computers.

I am having a frustrating problem where my Wired Optical mouse appears to 'freeze' for 10 seconds on my machine Windows 7 Pro 64-bit. Meanwhile, everything else on the computer works fine, including the keyboard (connected through PS2). The mouse does not seem to lose power because down the red LED stays on. At the end of the freeze period, I hear the sound of Windows to disconnect USB, but there is no error or windows pop-up ads of any kind on the screen.

Some more info about the configuration:

    * Core i7 950 processor
    * 12 GB of RAM
    * Radeon HD4950 video card (or almost)
    * The main SSD drive
    * 2 external powered USB drives, 1 powered MIDI keyboard, 1 USB dongle
    * Windows experience score 7.3

I tried things that did not work:

    • Turn off all the power management, including the management of power supply for USB, USB hubs-> suspend to win power, etc.
    • Permutation of mouse. The problem came with three different mouse from different manufacturers.
    • Try the mouse on different computers of W7 Pro. Confirmed that the mice are not the problem.
    • Disconnected all other USB devices except the mouse. Problem persists.
    • Uninstalled all the drivers for the mouse and use MS default drivers.
    • Installed the software Microsoft mouse & keyboard center.
    • Installed the software from the manufacturer (ie. logitech) specific mouse driver.
    • Tried every USB port, the front and back, on my computer, including USB3 vs USB2.
    • Scanned for malware (using Malwarebytes)
    • Search for viruses (using Nod32)

I must point out that NO other devices are having problems on this computer. My external hard drives all work perfectly. My printer when I plug it, works great, like my USB dongle. My MIDI keyboard never loses connection. Even when I have my phone connected Android, which normally creates a huge noise if I unplug it, never disconnects even for a second. It is therefore clearly a kind of mouse problem.

The problem seems to occur regardless of what I do, although it seems MORE common if I use actually the mouse. If I'm just typing (as I am now) it seems not really to happen. On the other hand, sometimes hours go with no problem and other time it happens literally every few seconds.

Remove the check to "improve the accuracy of the printer" logic. I had two computers windows 7 x 64 that gives me the same problem. When I tried a wireless mouse, the problem disappeared. they do not use the windows controls.

    (1) I have an idea which may simply not work. Install the software of Western Digital's Data LifeGuard Diagnostics.

    (2) then select / click on the Seagate 2 TB of disk.

    (3) then click on the little icon above the list of player who scored "click to run tests.

    (4) in the popup windows choose the option "write zeros". Click 'Start' and select the fastest two write options who writes zero for beginners / before the command and at the end / last sectors on the disk. It will take about 2 minutes or less. Once the zero finished writing your drive will be in a State of 'Raw' (just as if you removed from the box for the first time).

    (5) open "Disk management", you should see a windows asking you to 'Initialize' the reader. Choose the MBR (Master Boot Record "option.

    Now try to install Windows.

Here is the configuration of the system:

Edition of Windows: Windows 8 single language
    Manufacturer: Samsung Electronics

I want to upgrade to Windows 8 Pro because I am a .NET developer and I have Visual Studio Ultimate 2012 and SQL Server installed 2012. Also, I had MS-Office and Norton 360 installed. I was only 35 GB left.

I'm working on the Windows Phone 8 App development requiring Hyper-V.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of the upgrade to Windows Pro 8 given that it is a Tablet and also, this Windows Blue is on the cards.

Should I switch to Windows 8 Pro or not?

    Thank you

First of all, Windows 8.1 (blue) will be a free update for users of Windows 8 and Windows 8 Pro.

    There isn't really any disadvantages of the upgrade to Pro, just additional benefits;

    -Hyper-V client

    -Remote Desktop

    -BitLocker Drive encryption

    -Network backup

  • Windows 8 Pro startup problem

    Dear friends

I have a Pc assembled with 8 GB of Ram. Hard drive 1 to, 1 GB memory graphics + DVD Writter.

There the partion to C. H. I have a licensed version of Windows 8 Pro 32 bit (Dick Original). Win 8 pro is installed in C: (space is 100 GB).

It was working fine. Latest installation has Samsung Kies.

But the day before yesterday when I swtich on the machine it started but I noticed that it took more time to start. and sudddenly he freezes on.

So I stop it and new Rebooted

He then suddenly splashed the message below (or similar) I would not even read. The only offer I got was ' your PC encountered a problem '.

So I googled and got the other party. It could be another message but I am sure that the ' your PC encountered a problem ' part is the same.

"Your PC ran into a problem and it restarts. responsible for collect just some info the error and then put back on well for you (100% complete). »

The message did not sleep there. Immediately another message showed so wording

"Prepairing for the repair of some/automatic '.

I waited about 1:30 hours and nothing happened. No Progressive bar (which Microsoft shows everywhere). So I sat there like a statue. I didn't know what was going on inside. No message, full of persentage nothing.

Yet once restarted, it with my dvd pro Win 8. And selected repair my computer from the installation screen.

    It is said

Diagnosis of your computer... Two hours went by. Suddenly the message changed to check for disk errors. I waited for more than 3 hours. Nothing happened. So I closed the computer.

I am really frustrated because I have important data inside. I need to start it up in any way.

Please, help me to enforce. I do not have backup.

    Hi Baro

Happy news. I got it to work. Yesterday, I have issued an order to repair the MBR (bootrec.exe /fixmbr). After that I again checked with no luck. I unplugged my hp printer. Removed all the software I installed by inserting my victory 8 dvd and boot from dvd and then using evil taken view option. When I start the computer it goes immediately to "auto repair mode. So I decided to leave it as such to see what will happen. After 3 hours the mode changed to mode "Diagnostics of your computer".

After that the 3rd hour, it changed to "Disk error checking" Mode  I left and went to sleep.

I woke around 02:30 and checked state. Identical to the latest fashion. The benben8484 came after 45 minutes. When I came back, he showed my login screen. Immediately, I've connected and then turn off the computer correctly. Today, I'll check and start to reinstall what I removed.

Sort of thank God it's fine now.

I tried to go back my memories as I was able to pin point the exact reason, why this happened.

    Please, do not try things.

1 if please do not connect your mobile phone then turn on the computer. Put first on the PC and after login, connect you Mobile.

    2. do not try to stop updates (Windows updates).

    3. do not stop between updates.

Windows 8 takes more time for average error Windows 7. In my case, it took 7 hours.

    Thank you once again

    Sen

  • Maximum supported size of HARD drive for HP Elitebook 8440p Windows 7 Pro 64 bit runing

Hello, I just bought a HP Elitebook 8440p "off lease" of Tigerdirect and seeks to upgrade the two memory (from 4 GB to 8 GB) and put in the eligible of the biggest HARD drive I can. Either a 512 GB SSD or a 1 TB WD hybrid WD BLACK2 (1 TB HDD / 120 GB SSD Combo drive in a single package!). I would like to see more large disk addressable by using Windows 7 Pro 64 Bit OS since I don't seem able to find this info on the web. HP offers only only a 256 GB SSD in its specifications. but I didn't know if it was do limitations of BIOS or availability at the time of production, even for the HARD drive to 512 GB.

Also, I would like to know if 9.5 mm compliant Bay that it needs to be for the WD drive. Can't find that either, and while the new laptop has not yet happen, all measure exactly the same way regarding what works and what simply cannot be "cheated".

Thank you for taking the time to read this and NO information to that effect would be Greatl appreciated!

Essentially the reason why you do not have a maximum size of hard drive is because there is not everything. Between SATA and 64-bit OS', worrying about maximum size of hard drive is a thing of the past. Are the biggest readers found in the manual, as you suspected him, just a function of the market at the time of manufacture. It was a few years ago now, it is so understandable that the offerings were "at the time" more thin than now.

    Here is the Service Manual:

    Manual

Page 4-9 shows the procedure of the Bay and the replacement of the hard disk. The Bay is made for a 9.5 mm thickness 2.5-inch wide SATA hard but the new 7 mm readers also works. The black hybrid drive requires some software (included in the package) to treat the two drives in Windows and I read a modest amount of disappointment in the documentation about them. If you can afford the 512 GB SSD go in this direction and you will not be sorry. I use a Samsung 840 Evo and it has worked perfectly for me for almost 2 years and the most recent 850 I hear is even better.

  • CMT Compaq dc7100 Dual Boot, Windows 7 Pro and XP Pro

Tile: CMT Compaq dc7100 Dual Boot, Windows 7 Pro and XP Pro

Hello everyone.  My computer is adjustable having the dual boot with Windows 7 Pro on disk 0 (320 GB SATA Seagate Barracuda 7200.11) and XP Pro disk 1 (40 GB SATA Samsung SP0411C). As the two systems are available at the start but most all the time Windows 7 Pro would use. The computer is Compaq 7100, WCL PP255US, 3.2 GHZ Intel Pentium 4, 3 GB of ram, Council ch h 0968, bios HP 78 1 v01.05 16/06/2004, chip Intel 915 G Express.  According to the website of Seagate Barracuda 320 GB with (quote), ' he not there no master/slave because every player relationship is considered to be a master in a relationship from point to point.» If two drives are connected to a Serial ATA host adapter, the host operating system considers that the two devices as if they were the two "masters" on two ports separated. Both drives behave as if they were device 0 (master) devices.  On the drive Samsung (SP0411C) I put a jumper for master, it is connected to the motherboard instead of disk 1. Used rider illustrated for Samsung SP0411N since I did not see the SP0411C listed. When selecting information for Samsung Seagate site sometimes showed data for their readers. This is perhaps due to the recent acquisition of Samsung or maybe my mistake.  Tried swapping around wiring of each drive but that didn't work of course. Looked at the settings in the BIOS but did not see a way to create the dual boot.  Please let me know if you need more information. If you know how this can be done or have some suggestions, please let me hear it. As always, thank you very much for your comments.

    Oscar

Hello oscarmint, I checked the specifications of your system and it does not show the system supports two types of hard drives.

The system supports only Serial ATA (Sata) synchronous Maximum 150 MB/s transfer rate

You would need to make the jumper on the Seagate 320 GB Sata Drive pin, set at 150 MB/s.

You are right that the Seagate would not Cable Select or slave settings and it would be the master and only on cable.

If the 40 GB hard drive is a type of ATA (IDE), you'd better put as selection of cables (CS).
