Windows Embedded POSReady 7 - reliability monitor

I try to activate the reliability monitor to do some troubleshooting on our EPOS terminals and ran into a problem.

Memory and everything what I found then the search, in my view, it is necessary to activate the RAC task to Task Scheduler.

Unfortunately, it seems that the CARS container is missing from the Task Scheduler on POSReady 7.

How can I activate the reliability monitor in Windows Embedded POSReady 7?

Soon :)

    Hi dw_witless,

Thanks for posting on Microsoft Answers!

I suspect that data collection is not enabled. To follow the steps below to enable it:
1 activate the data collection for reliability monitor
Reliability Monitor uses data provided by the RACAgent scheduled task. Reliability Monitor will begin showing an indication of stability, and event information specific 24 hours after installation of the system.
The RACAgent scheduled task runs by default once the operating system is installed. If it is disabled, it must be enabled manually in the software component for Microsoft Management Console (MMC) snap-in Task Scheduler.
Membership in the local Administrators group or equivalent is the minimum required to complete this procedure.
To enable the RACAgent scheduled task
    1. Click Start, click in the search box, type taskschd.msc, and then press ENTER.
    2. in the navigation pane, expand Task Scheduler Library, expand Microsoft, expand Windows, and click RAC.
3 right-click RAC, click view, and click Show hidden tasks.
    4. click on RACAgent in the results pane.
    noteNote
The RACAgent task name is maybe not completely visible. If you don't find it, expand the name column in the results pane.
    5. in the Action menu, click Activate.

If the steps above does not
    2 reset the reliability monitor:
    1. turn off your Windows 7 problem report history.
NOTE: You need to do step 6 at this link above to delete all the problems.
    2. If the Reliablity monitor is open, close it.
    3. open the Folder Options and select (dot) the hidden files and folders option, and click OK.
    4. open Windows Explorer and navigate to C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\RAC.
    5. to save the history of reliability data-
WARNING: This is an optional step, you will not be able to restore these data if you do not back up this data and it will be gone for good. If you want to ignore this, go to step 6 instead.
    (A) copy the PublishedData and the StateData files and paste them to another backup location.
    6 open the folder PublishedData.
    7. Select all files in the folder and click on delete.
    8. click on Yes to approve it.
    9 open the StateData.
    10. Select all files in the folder and click on Delete
    11. click on Yes to approve it.
    12. If prompted by UAC, then you will need to click Yes to each UAC prompt for each file in the folder StateData approve deleting each file one by one.
    13. close Windows Explorer.
    14 emptying the trash.
15 open the Options folder and select (dot) the do not show hidden files and folders option and then click OK.

  • Reliability Monitor does not work, please help.

I tried to reset it using this tutorial: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/20779-reliability-monitor-reset.html

It seemed to reset the reliability monitor, as when I open there was a message at the top telling me that if I had just installed Windows 7, I might have to wait a day before entries would appear. However, it has been a week and still nothing, the graphic is completely empty.

I also tried following a walkthrough of: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-performance/my-reliability-history-contains-nothing/5b2cfcac-4f23-4fc3-b206-985108ab0161

All this seemed to change the message displayed at the top.

I already checked and Scheduler of tasks claims Ractask runs successfully.

So, I honestly don't know what the problem could be at this point. Somethings, I noticed that I could either be causing this or other computer problems are:

    (1) WinSAT, which is listed under in Task Scheduler maintenance contract, has apparently not performed over the YEARS.

    (2) monitor Performace said the system diagnostic and the recording of the performance is stopped.

and (3) a follow-up to start event session called Rac_PS is disabled (this is related to RacTask?)

Thus, any help / advice would be appreciated. (Please tell me just do a system restore, this problem has occurred for at least a year and my restore points only rise to the head of one month).

    Hi Jeffrey,.

I'm sorry to know that you are always faced with the question. To resolve this problem, we will follow these steps:

    7. Select all files in the folder and click on delete.
    8. click on Yes to approve it.
    9 open the StateData.

    11. click on Yes to approve it.
    12. If prompted by UAC, then you will need to click Yes to each UAC prompt for each file in the folder StateData approve deleting each file one by one.

If the problem persists, try step 2.

Step 2: Update a registry setting.

    1. Click Start, type Regedit in the Search box, and then click Regedit.
    2. In the registry editor, set the value of the following registry entry to 1:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Reliability Analysis\WMI\WMIEnable

    Restart the computer.

  • Slow to open Reliability Monitor?

I've seen this topic discussed elsewhere, but without a definitive solution.

The problem I have is that when I open the reliability monitor, it gets stuck on "reliability monitor is the generation of the report.  Please wait... "for more than 3 minutes before making the chart.  In my view, that it normally takes about 10 to 15 seconds to run.

I feel no other problems of performance degradation that I know, and I am sure, that there is no malware on my machine.  I tried to start minimal both in Mode safe mode, but they do not address the issue.

I find the reliability monitor to be a great troubleshooting tool, but I'm not inclined to use it if it takes a long time to open.

    I'm on Windows 7 x 64.

I appreciate any help on this!

    b. type 'prefetch' and press ENTER.

    c. Select all files and delete the entries of the file.

Now try to open reliability monitor and check the status.

  • Pavilion DV7: How to make windows 10 talk to external monitor?

    I changed my Pavilion DV7 (product # ww185av) from Windows 7 to Windows 10.

Since then, the laptop appears on my external monitor (HP x 2511).

    The screen remains black.

Laptop computer connection and monitor worked very well just before the switch.

If I P-window and choose "duplicate", the laptop tells me that I don't have the optimal resolution and it changes the screen resolution of mobile, but the external monitor stays black.  Somehow, I found once a "detection" option to get another monitor, but windows cannot find a second monitor. I tried to re-allocation of places the connection htmi several times.

I suspect the video driver, because my laptop wonder is no longer on whether I want to change GPU when I plug/unplug power supply.  I suspect that it is running low power GPU, and he never liked talking to the screen when executing that GPU.  But I have not found a panel that allows me to spend.   My video drivers are updated according to windows and hp advisor software.  Some HP site says that HP does not support windows on machines more than 10 2 years, one of which is mine.

Any thoughts on how to get the laptop to talk to the screen?  Should I just go back to Windows 7?

The expert event is over, no one offers a 'plan B', and my Windows 10 grace period is exhausted.

I came back to Windows 7 and my monitor works fine again.

Any who tried never to install and run the LabVIEW Runtime Engine (2011 or later version) on Windows Embedded Standard 7 P 32 / 64-bit?

I hope that someone tried to do already. I don't have the right equipment now to check it out.

As NEITHER sells touchscreens with WES7 installed here: http://sine.ni.com/nips/cds/view/p/lang/en/nid/210551 it's pretty safe to assume that they used the RTE on WES7.

    But yes, it is done.

  • IE 8 on Windows Embedded Standard 7 is extensible to IE9 or IE10? Is it possible to install other browsers? that is, firefox or google chrome?

I have more than 10 thin clients with Windows Embedded Standard 7 with IE8. We are running a web application that crashes with IE8. I tried the upgrade to IE9 or IE10, but during the upgrade process, it stops and fails to install. I also tried installing various other browsers such as firefox and chrome, but they fail during the instalation.
