Windows Explorer does not work

When I click on an icon on the desktop for a Pamela of location specific windows as a drkive drive it doesnot open or if he does almost immediately gives one answer marking notification. No matter how long wait he never responds.  When I open a software program which then requires me to open a specific location on a disk or on the logo of the computer, it immediately becomes does not.  I installed upgrading windows recommended as well as a fix without result.  What should I do now?

Try to rebuild the icon cache. It could have been corrupted.

    Hi Nicolas,.

I appreciate your efforts to solve the problem.

I suggest you try the procedure described in the article and see if it helps.

Error: Windows Explorer has stopped working
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/2694911/en-us

    Note:
    1) data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means there is a risk of data loss.

    2) after the boot minimum troubleshooting step, read the sections "How to reset the computer to start as usual after a clean boot troubleshooting" in the link provided to return the computer to a Normal startup mode.

    3) when you do the system restore to restore the computer to a previous state, programs and updates that you have installed are removed.

    4) note that it takes as much time to do the upgrade as to reinstall the operating system. In addition, some of your custom Windows settings may be lost through this process.

Hope this information helps. Answer the post with an up-to-date issue report to help you further.

Think about it an absolute must - manually update your drivers.

Vista and Windows 7 updated drivers love then here's how update the most important.

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded
on your system. For each driver in the list, additional useful information is
Poster: load address of the driver, description, version, product name,.
company that created the driver and more.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit Maker as replacements and system manufacturer of device which are
the most recent. Control Panel - write - graphics card - device manager
the brand and complete model of your video card - double click - tab of the driver-
Note the version information. Now click on UPdate Driver (this can do nothing
MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then do a right click - Uninstall - REBOOT
This will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard
If there are 3rd party with their own software and drivers and the other main device drivers
    you have.

Now, go to the site of the manufacturer of system (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) (restore)
and site (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get the manufacturer and device
their latest versions. (Look for the system to update the BIOS, Chipset and software updates
    Site of the manufacturer here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN -.
    REBOOT after each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you are
installation actually appears. This is because that some rollback of drivers before the
later is installed (particularly that audio drivers) so install a driver - reboot.
Make sure that it is installed and repeat if necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW to the device makers DO NOT RUN THEIR
SCANNER - check manually by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.
    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/driverssupport/HT/driverdlmfgr.htm

Installation and update of drivers under Windows 7 (updated drivers manually using
the above methods is preferable to ensure the latest drivers from the manufacturer of system
    and device manufacturers are located)
    http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/43216-installing-updating-drivers-7-a.html

If you update the drivers manually, then it's a good idea to disable driver facilities
in the updates of Windows, which leaves on Windows updates, but it will not be installed
pilots who are generally older and cause problems. If updates provides a new
driver then hide it (right click on it) and then go get new ones manually if
    you want.

Methods to follow for Internet Explorer 7 or Internet Explorer 8 method 1: reset Internet Explorer settings if you have Internet Explorer 7 or Internet Explorer 8 is installed, you can repair damaged files or missing information of registration in Internet Explore 7 or Internet Explorer 8. One day, the computer automatically downloads and installs the programs that are recommended by microsoft windows.

After installation, my INternet explorer does not work.

    It reads:

Windows could not access 'ie.redirect.hp.com '.
Windows received an HTTP error message: 403 (refused).

    This time, it reads:

You want to report the problem to Microsoft? Additional details about what went wrong can help create a solution. The report will be sent the next time you go online.
    Send information

But when I send, I can not because I have Canon go online on my Internet Explore.
When he first stopped working, I could use the system restore, but after a few months I dropped and now I can't restore the system to a place that it worked fine.

I also know that this problem is not the administrator of network or something like that because I downloaded Firefox when IE stopped working, and Firefox works fine.

  • Installation of Windows service does not work after Windows Explorer 9 uninstalling and reinstall Explorer 8

Installation of Windows service does not work after Explorer 9 uninstallation and reinstallation of 8.  I followed several suggestions on this forum, but still no luck.  I ran the SFC system twice, who told me he had corrupted files.  "Some have been repaired and some might not be."  I then went in the event viewer after a start to the top and he stated that the 'Adobe APM service' is not found.  Also the "hpqddsvc' and the 'gupdate' is not found.  He tries to install something every time I start, but he abandoned.  I checked whether the system is on and disabled.  It's on.  There are a lot of small problems, but my main concern is the Adobe program.  I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Adobe, but still get an error message that the Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. If the holder of the license is your employer, you should seek their help, otherwise the software must be removed from your computer.

  • After you install a second WD 1 TB my book drive, Windows Explorer does not see the new drive.

    Original title: Signature Collision?

I'm having hard to the installation of a second external drive. I use Windows 7 Ultimate RC. There was a WD 1 TB drive My Book already installed - healthy and works very well. The problem occurred after installing a second WD 1 TB my book reader. I followed all the instructions, pluuging the drive to a USB hub. Windows found the disk, installed drivers and reported the new drive ready for use.

Windows Explorer does not see the new drive. Devices and printers shows 2 external drives from WD. Disk Management shows as 2 drives, but the second disk is offline because of a 'Signature' Collision

Each player works very well if it's the only drive plugged in. "Eject My Book" does not work because a program (or more) are to use the player in the background (Windows or Norton).

I installed the latest firmware and I'm still having this problem. I've been emailing WD with this problem and they are running out of ideas.

    Can anyone help?
    Thank you

    Hello Comatose13,

There is an old article of KB in Windows XP that has been recently updated with additional measures to solve this kind of problem. The KB covers Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7 with step by step methods. See if that helps.

  • Windows 7 reports as "Not true" after replacement drive. Windows Update does not work. Any idea?

I got a report that my drive was in imminent danger of failure.   Bought and made a direct disc-copy of the old disk cloning.    Everything seems to work fine, but now I'm getting the pop up that says Windows is "not true."    Windows shows as active, and nothing I've tried will stop the pop-up.  Worse, Windows Update does NOT work, and without running a few updates, I'm dead in the water for the use of new devices.

I ran MGADiag.   Here is that content.   Any help is greatly apprectiated!
