Windows Firewall won't turn on after the Trojan horse

Hello

I have windows 7 starter edition. I recently had a Trojan virus on my computer, it was called Trojan:Win32 / Ramnit.A
This virus had caused me to not be able to turn on my Security Center, but now it was fixed and the Security Center now works. However, my Center of the action is to tell me I need switch my firewall, but it doesn't let me it says: Action Center can't turn on the firewall. So I clicked on activate manually but when windows firewall comes up it says "windows firewall does not use recommended settings to help protect your computer. Next to the post is a button that says "use recommended settings, but when I click on it an error message comes up saying:"firewall Windows cannot change some of your settings. "  Error code: 0 x 80070424. I used diagnose and automatically fix problems of Windows Firewall service (Microsoft fix it)... I ran the program and after troubleshooting had finished, he said that 2 problems have been detected:
1. Windows could not start the windows firewall.
2. Windows firewall service is not started.
None of them have been set.
Help, please!
Camille

It could be that you are still a few remnants of the virus. Take a look at this site for some good information.

  • Computer won't turn on after the mode 'sleep'

My computer acted funny lately when it goes into mode 'sleep', and I have to reboot it until I can do something new. I know I'm not the only one having this problem, I've read the other posts on this problem. Anyway, my keyboard has a sleep button that I brush occasionally, that causes all this to happen. However, I brushed it today, and instead to go just in a coma, the computer entered into mode 'sleep' (the light was orange, noise died down), then woke up to the top in a way where the fan on, but the light went off. I've forced to close and then turned back on. Now when I turn it on, the light and fan both going on, but the monitor remains off, and none of the lights on the keyboard lights up. Is there a simple solution to this, or it will need repairs?

  • Windows Firewall service does not start after the removal of Virus

    Hello

I believe that my son's computer has been infected with the Trojan.Agent.Ed virus.  I managed to remove it (from different folders in AppData), but a few vestiges remain of course.  The windows firewall service does not start - it throws an exception to access denied on startup and when I try to start the service manually.
I tried to run the Sysinternals Process Monitor to display all events ACCESS DENIED and checked the permissions on the key to registry MpsSvc in HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\services and compared to a corresponding Windows 7 machine.  I've even exported the key MpsSvc and sous-branches of the laptop in good health and tried to import into a failure, but the import does not seem to occur, even if it gives a message "imported".
I also tried the troubleshooting of Windows Firewall that confusedly says:
"Windows could not start the Windows Firewall... Not fixed
"Set permissions for the registry keys involved"... succeeded
"Windows Firewall service is not started. Not fixed
    "Starting the Firewall Service"... succeeded
Any ideas would be most appreciated.
    Thank you.

  • Laptop won't turn on after the new battery.

A few days ago, when I got home, I found that my VAIO VPCF1290x of 3 years was dead. The battery indicator has been telling me to get a new battery, but I thought it would be enough for now.

Problem: Laptop wouldn't turn on after pressing the power button.

    (1) with the adapter and the battery still in my laptop, by pressing the power button does not turn on my laptop. However when I press the power button, green light battery (the button itself) indicator on for about a second, then dimmed quickly.

    (2) after reading some forums, I decided to fill my laptop into the battery button for a good 30 seconds trying to turn slot WITH the adapter. It turned on my laptop, but it took a good 2-3 seconds for the laptop to make all sounds as if it was about to start.

I have since then bought a new battery and a reason that my laptop lights at all. When I connected my new battery to condition it green button energy came on again for about one second then disappeared.

I don't know what's the matter with my computer and would like to help. I KNOW that I should probably get repaired but would like an idea as to why my laptop behaves like a *.

    EDIT *.

To give more information, when I have the OLD battery placed in the computer of the battery indicator is a constant flashing orange.

  • How can you get your files to show again after the Trojan horse?

My files on my external hard drive does not show, although the properties show that they are still there. I tried to post, and I made sure my hidden files show in windows control panel. But cannot see them. Did the same thing on my memory stick. Files on onboard hard drive all indicate. Any help please

    Hi LizelleAvenant,

    ·         Did you do changes on the computer before the show?

    ·         What is the brand and model of the external hard drive?

    Follow these methods.

Method 1: Performs a search using the Microsoft safety scanner in the external hard drive.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

Method 2: Try to connect the external hard drive on another computer and check if the problem persists.

Method 3: Run the disk check to check for possible errors.

Note: If bad sectors are found in the hard drive, then it could try to fix this particular sector. If you have any data on that, it can get lost.

  • Inspiron 9300 screen turns off after the Windows Logo screen

Inspiron 9300 my wife became severely infected.  I thought I had some weird things start popping up of the problem decided to wipe the hard drive and start over.  Unfortunately, I don't have to restore disks when I bought the computer.  I install windows xp pro service pack 2 full retail version.

Installation was not a problem until I installed the driver ATI Mobility x 300.  I followed directions for installation from the website, do the installation of xp followed of the dell system software update followed of chipset followed video driver.  After that whenever I put on, the screen turns off after the Windows Logo.  The computer is still running and if I plug an external monitor everythng is fine.

I tried all the troubleshooting tips I've seen in this forum.  I did a full install twice. made of safety boots (all right), started in VGA mode (works fine), I ran diagnostics from fn on startup, including express, extended and video tests and they pass all the controls.  I'm sure it's a software problem, but have been unable to solve.  I've updated the ATI bios although when I run it says already installed and done one installs x 300 driver on 6 ttimes own.

I know it must be something simple that I'm missing. My system is the Inspiron 9300 with 2 GB of ram and the mobility x 300 card.  Any help would be appreciated.

However, the requirements for the media upgrade is that you have an operating system already eligible such as Windows XP or Vista installed to use it. Since the Windows 7 end user license agreement.

15 UPDATES. To use upgrade software, you must first be licensed for the software that is eligible for the upgrade. After the upgrade, this agreement takes the place of the agreement for the software that you upgraded. After upgrade, you can no longer use the software that you upgraded.

So, if you are always denied, you will just have to reinstall Windows XP or Vista and let it do the verification of eligibility.

  • Having a problem with Windows Live Mail lock up shortly after the start.

Having a problem with Windows Live Mail lock up shortly after the start. When I start the Task Manager to end the process, it sometimes freezes and the only way to solve the problem is to disconnect which forces the profile to close. Assuming a corrupted profile, I followed the instructions of Windows support to fix a corrupted profile and copied all the files except ntuser.*. When I try to paste them into the new user profile (all profiles are admins), I get the error message asking if I want to leave to proceed. When I click on continue, all THE files in the profile block "corrupt" to the new one, including ntuser.*, that I was not choosing. Why? If the files are rewritten empty? Tried 3 times, same result. Please notify.

I think I found it! I went in the Windows Live Forum and found a thread that looked like my problem. He suggested going to msconfig and take off Live Mail list start. I couldn't find it on the list, but the top element was "" default EXE"something of an unknown manufacturer. I took it out of the startup list, and Live Mail works again! Thanks for your help!
