Windows incoming/outgoing firewall rules works do not (access denied)

When I'm going to define either an inbound or outbound rule in windows firewall 7 I get mutiple messages "access denied."  I am trying to allow files and printers, sharing presets but when I cliquerai on finish, I get access denied messages.  Please notify.

Hello

Thanks for posting the question on the Microsoft forums. According to the description, you cannot create a rule of incoming/outgoing traffic in Windows Firewall and get a "access denied" error. We will perform a few steps and try to solve the problem.

You have a third-party antivirus installed on the computer program?

This problem normally occurs when the firewall services do not work correctly. All the dependency service could be the cause of the issue.

I suggest you perform the steps mentioned in the article:

Some services do not start in Windows Vista and Windows 7

    Hi all

Something strange has happened and I don't know what.

When I click on the 'Windows Update' shortcut I get a dialog box "Help & Support", that tells me that I am not connected to the Internet and an Internet connection is sufficient.  Well, I'm connected to the Internet and I can load IE and surf the web without any problem.  I can get to 'Windows Update' by clicking on 'Tools' then 'Windows Update', while that in IE, but the abbreviation of "Windows Update" no longer works.

Does anyone have any ideas where I could look for problems?

    Thanks for any help,

    Hello

Thanks for the information.  I went ahead and continued to install windows updates.  After a couple more installs and restarts the 'Windows Update' shortcut has started working again.  I have no idea why, in fact, this is the first time I've ever seen this type of error.

In any case, the WU shortcut works for now.

    Help, please...

    Hey, Kent.

Thanks for posting your concern. Let's see if there are programs or applications that blocks the internet connection by performing a clean boot. Please see the instructions under "Windows 7 and Windows Vista" in this link: How to perform a boot in Windows.

We can also check if there are some files corrupt or broken update installed that is blocking the connection by running the file system (CFS) auditor. Please follow the steps below:

    1. press on the Windows key on your keyboard.
2 type cmd, then right click on the result, then choose Run as Administrator.
    3. enter sfc/scannow.
    4. hit enter.

Keep us in the loop for updates.

  • In Windows 7, signed as an administrator but get access denied to certain files and folders

I just started my new computer, set up my user profile and installed Quicken. He would not open the Ouicken backup file I had brought my old computer so I started looking for a solution and found that a number of files and folders have been marked read-only. Then, I started to change the file attributes to allow free access everywhere where I found them marked read-only. In some cases, there was an error message saying that the file could not be changed, so I ignored these files. In fact, my question is, why am I like the only user of this computer, being denied access to any file or folder? I gave myself (duh) administrator-level privileges, but Windows 7 does not recognize me as an administrator. Is there something that I missed when you set up Windows for the first time? Just a mess by changing the file attributes? Thank you.

In fact, my question is, why am I like the only user of this computer, being denied access to any file or folder? attributes? Thank you.

There are at least two issues here. First, Windows 7 uses a structure of different folders for pre-Vista versions and while there are files and folders whose names are the same as those used in XP, they are NOT records in the true sense of the word - they are JUNCTION points to which any user has not access - there is no point. Documents and Settings is one of these junction points - this is to allow existing applications that use the old pre to win 7 folder structure to run in Windows 7. See here for more information about junction points:

    http://www.Svrops.com/Svrops/articles/jpoints.htm

Secondly, I think you will see that the records that you have thought we have read-are not only in fact. A folder with the read-only BLUE box is NOT dead, and it's the standard attribute for folders in Windows 7. A read-only file or folder has a CHECKMARK in the read-only box, not a blued outlet box.

  • Upgrade Windows 8 / / Touchpad doesn't work is not right - Acer Aspire V5 - 531

    Hello

Ive upgraded to Win 7 Home Premium to Win 8 Pro using the Acer Windows 8 Upgrade Tool everything was completed with success not at all last night but today Ive turned on the laptop and my touchpad does not work well and the cursor acts as if someone is spinning it around the screen.

So ive only checked the site acer and theres no update driver Synaptics for my computer laptop so can someone explain to me what I do then as I know it was a synaptics driver when windows is 7, but for now its listed as a microsoft mouse driver and theres no way to update the driver through the Device Manager options.

    Ok

You need Synaptics Touchpad driver 16.0.2.0

    You can download here:

    http://www.Acer.co.UK/AC/en/GB/content/drivers

Then selecting Ultra Slim under groups and then ACER V5-531 CHOOSE NOT one 531-g/p or pg as the driver synaptics may not be on their page!

Download the file run as administrator THEN REBOOT and hey presto your rear driver work again

While this driver is an an it windows 7 works perfectly under windows 8!

  • ReadyBoost Windows 7 Pro 64 bit works only not with the reader flash 32 GB USB high speed...

    Hello

I did what I could find in support.microsoft.com search/read them all using ReadyBoost on my Windows 7 Professional 64 - bit, because he seemed much more cost-effective to install a properly sized USB key from the bombings of hundreds of dollars to replace and modernize the planks of installed RAM, I, 4x2Gb @ 1066

    My basic material is:

    Intel i7 920 CPU using Gigabyte EX58 - UD3R-MOBO with 8 GB of RAM installed 1066.

According to the info I've read ReadyBoost, the ratio is 4:1 for the size of the Flash drive compared to installed RAM or, in my case, a 32 GB USB device.

I had the OCZ Rally2 32 GB because it tested faster about 30 GB Read and 5 to 10 MB write.

When I go to activate the USB 32 GB for ReadyBoost flash drive, I get the "impossible... to use this device to ReadyBoost...". "error message.

    TWO QUESTIONS:

1 knowing that my USB 32 GB current is at a speed of 31 GB read/6-10 MB write and can be replaced if necessary:

    a. y at - it a necessary range of recommended read/write speed?

    2. further, saying: the range of tested USB disk read/write speed are correct or I will get a correct drive 32 GB and with 8 GB of RAM currently installed.

b is it? or what is the advantage in any computer processing speed using a 32 Gb USB flash drive when it is 8 GB of RAM installed (knowing that a replacement/upgrade RAM is off-budget for the foreseeable future)?

Finally, I pass first OCZ support but received no conclusive answers.

    1st answer to yesterday 20:11

Win7 is limited to 32 GB size by device for ReadyBoost. I've seen this problem before when the USB key is at the maximum limit. Never seen a work around so.

AND, more interesting for me, 2nd answer:

Few people I know with this problem that I've never heard of a solution. I don't know anyone who devoted a lot of effort as with 8 GB of memory system is not a necessity for ReadyBoost so they just moved.

NOTE: The support guess I are underutilizing the 8 GB of RAM installed. In fact, due to the needs work I will typically have anywhere for applications and utilities operating at 20-35 someone time, using 4-6 GB of RAM at peak use.
    Ideas?  Suggestions?
    Thank you.
    John

    Hi John,.

A flash drive may appear to meet the requirements, but Windows may detects it not as compatible ReadyBoost if its rated speed measures sequential and random performance and performance is not always quick on the set of the flash player.

Look for a note from the manufacturer that the flash player is Compatible Windows ReadyBoost. Not all manufacturers of this list on their packaging.

You can check with another flash drive

    Answering your questions

    a. speed for Windows ReadyBoost requirements are at least 2.5 MB per second throughput for random readings of 4 kilobytes (KB) and 1.75 MB per second throughput for 512 k random entries.

Using memory in your storage device to speed up your computer

    (Article is for Windows 7)

    b. ReadyBoost acts as a cache of HARD disc (hard drive) and is not a replacement for direct system memory. It will not improve processing speed, but will help the launch of faster applications and push background applications that serve much in memory reserved ReadyBoost.

  • [Solved] Windows 7 start menu search work does not correctly

    Hello
I hope you guys can help me with the following:
As I removed (through the registry) libraries in Windows 7 (see notice at the bottom) I can't find common things such as 'cmd' 'Notepad' or 'calc (tab'ulator)' find the programs installed in the search from the start menu, but CAN FIND paths like C:\Windows\system32\cmd.exe. Research in the Solution Explorer window is not affected by this problem. If I try to search for example "cmd" in the search for the start menu it says "no element not corresponding to your research." When I click on "See more results" it shows This popup (click here). So I restored the registry keys, but it will not work correctly again.

FYI: I tried several things to solve this problem but never fixed it:
-see if the Windows Search service and Indexing Service are running (> Yes, auto-start)
-rebuild the index (it indexes 2 additional partitions on my hard drive, C:\Windows, C:\Users, C:\Program Files (x 86)------and standard folders like the Start Menu)
-Uninstall and reinstall Windows Search and Indexing Service (via Windows turn on or off features in the control panel > programs and features)
    -delete the folder C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Search
    -Tools Microsoft FixIt
-Troubleshooting (also the problems search and indexing)
    -create new user account

I forgot something? If so, I'll tell you as soon as I remember.

Can anyone help me please with my w/out problem suggesting to reinstall Windows?

    I use Windows 7 x 64 HomePremium SP1 on a

    "{031E4825-7B94-4dc3-B131-E946B44C8DD5}" = -.

I found a solution by myself.
If you have the same problem I had (really the same with above registry keys), just download this file: https://www.mediafire.com/?s4bt0447gk426r6 inside you will find 3 .reg files:
-to restore the registry keys and resolving the problem of search in the menu start
-through libraries in the start menu folders 'normal '.
-to cancel the passage of libraries in normal files.

To have no problem trying to merge "undo_rem_libs.reg", first give yourself permissions (full control!) of the HKCR\CLSID\ {031E4825-7B94-4dc3-B131-E946B44C8DD5} key by right-clicking on it > permissions... > advance > owner (tab) > click on your username > OK > again once, click your user name (this time in the 'group or user names') > check 'Allow' in the full control row > OK.
That's all! Now you can merge the .reg for restoring above file (see problem) removed key strings with the just installed new Windows 7 original data.

The other .reg files in the archive must be explicit.

    / Edit:
NOTICE: this works on all versions 32 and 64 bit of Windows 7 (not tested on Windows 7 Starter).

  • Windows product key doesn't work is not for the reinstallation of Windows 7

So my Lenovo (B560) became super slow and I want to wipe the hard drive and reinstall Windows 7. But when I looked on the Microsoft Web site and tried to check my key I received the following message is displayed:

"The product key you have entered seems to be the software that was preinstalled by the manufacturer of the device. Contact the manufacturer of the device for software recovery options.

The product key that I used was the COA sticker under the laptop which was indeed different from one I receovered from the register. In any case, I tried both and none worked.

Ideas for how can I proceed?

You must install OEM Lenovo recovery disks or a recovery partition to use the key.

  • In my Windows Seearch box doesn't work do not

This began a few days ago, after the last update. All my CPU used Windows 7.  The one I use actively to update Microsoft.

What has happened, is that every time I used the search box in windows, the work of research, the files I'm looking for appears and accessible. I can open it. But the problems begin when I right-click to open the menu drop down. I have often wished to use the location capability to open the folder. The problem is, now, every time that I right click on the file in the search for result, the entire system crashed and I had to reboot.

    Help?

To resolve your concern, you can perform a clean boot to Windows 7. A clean boot is executed to start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This will eliminate the conflicts that occur when you install a program or a software update.

To do this, follow the steps below:

    1. Log the computer by using an account with administrator rights.
    2. Click Start, type msconfig.exe in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER to start The System Configuration utility.
    3. On the general tab, click Selective startup, and then clear the Load Startup items check box.
    4. On the Services tab, select the hide all Microsoft services check box, and then click disable all.
    5. Click OK, and then click restart.

I have a Toshiba Satellite C855D-S5357 computer laptop running windows 8. When you turn on the system it try to connect to the the first user automatically saying "Please wait...". ». After some time, it will be then expire and go back to the windows logon page 8. If you click on it to bring up the login of the user page it goes back into the screen "Please wait" just and repeats. There are no options press the power menu of charms to switch to secure mode.

Here's where things get interesting. The only way I found to attempt recovery of the operating system is to boot from a recovery disk. I have used downloaded and created a CD using the Microsoft ISO download page. Unfortunately, the bios will not start on the CD player in UEFI mode.  I have Secure Boot disabled and when I opt for the startup mode for "CSM"(je suppose la version de Toshiba de l'héritage) so I can boot into the CD player, but the hard drive is no longer available and options recovery of State that the player is locked. "."

I repeated these steps with Rufus to create a USB bootable with ISO and the schema Partition GPT for UEFI parameters all even, but with the same results as the CD.

Please someone know a way where I can update or recover this operating system?
