  I have a VI that sends a trigger of Biopac MP100 via USB 6501 to make the EEG signals. When I run the VI, I want windows media player started playing a movie automatically and I want the trigger to go to USB 6501 simultaneously.   I am running Vista 32 bit Home Premium and trying to share my media to DLNA on my PS3 PC using Windows Media Sharing Service. UPnP is enabled. Network discovery is turned on. File sharing is enabled. Media sharing is turned on.

  Whenever I visit Windows Media Player or try to change the setting of sharing media in network and sharing Center, there is the error message "media sharing is currently disabled, either because the sharing service is not running or your firewall settings have changed. To restart sharing, you must first confirm your settings.

  During the deactivation and reactivation of sharing multimedia files, I never see PS3 on the list (not a single unknown device appears). Also I see no Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service on the list of Services - there is no way to toggle the service or do start automatically.

  There are several user accounts on this PC and I made the changes on my admin account.

  Tried a 3rd party software Java "PS3 Media Server" and makes my Vista computer show on PS3 without parameters or modifications to firewall. This suggests that the WIFI, router, network discovery and UPnP work. I prefer to use Windows services if I would only get their work.

  Any help is greatly appreciated.

  I shot videos with my Iphone and never had a problem playing back, got a new computer and when I played Center windows media they were playing to sidways. But when I play back on quicktime on the computer they showup how I shot them where u don't have to tilt your head to view the video. So is it possible to correct to show normally on windows media player, it's for Windows 7 btw

  You can check with the device manufacturer for more information about recording and playback. This can occur if the video was recorded in landscape mode. Try to change the display or orientation in software video editing for playback in Windows Media Center or Windows Media player.

  I am running window 8.1 on a HP laptop.  I have the two 32-bit and 64-bit Windows Media Player installed, I can start 64-bit with no problem, but 32 bit work do not.  When I try to play music directly I get the error "Server execution failed", I tried all the option provide fron uninstall and reinstall as has been suggested, but nothing helped.  I need to have the 32-bit to run or have the 64-bit by default. Help!

  Thanks for the reply, but after working with it, I solved the problem.

  1. rename the program (x 86) folder (32-bit) / Windows Media Player for everything you want

  2 copy the Windows Media Player folder in the Program Files (64-bit) folder and paste it into the program file (x 86) folder.

  3. This puts an uncorrupted in the default path, Windows Media Player

  This worked very well for me.  It also leaves a version uncorrupted for future needs.

  Sometimes simple is better.

  Windows media 11 - CD player now burn as data files - all the previous burns were 80 min 700 MB disc, now burn list shows only around 50 mb, 640 and used for whole album remaining.  Does not work as an audio cd - this just started 3 months ago and I have been unable to solve.  Thank you for the additional remarks: looking for updates, all-deleted Firefox Plugin (deleted) tried to reload Windows Media Player, but will not be with the current version.  Rather not delete Windows Media Player and reload as many albums is here.  10 years of value at least
