Windows remote control troubleshooting

Has anyone developed an effective method for troubleshooting Windows remote control?  I am continually frustrated by the inability to determine why a particular command that I test on doesn't seem to work.  On Unix the secondary files are written on the server, and those who can be very useful to determine what failed and why.  Is there any sort of similar to the side Windows?

If it is VBScript, please explain, because I'm not at all a VBScripter.  I had a background in C++ and Java and am self-taught in Perl and Kixtart, but I only know the basics of VBScript.

Here's a command remote example is very complex to help you.

This particular example collects all the tasks scheduled in 2003 and 2008.

I usually do a simple worker. VBS that does the job.  In this case, his CSV2MIF. VBS

And then a simple remote command of wrapper to call the worker.  These should be. VBS, but they don't have to do much.

The worker could be anything. EXE or perl script.

Web-based online help also addresses the use of EcmEventLog (back in the Windows event log)

and ECMDebugEvent which dates back to the collector but I do not use them.  Objects are only available in the command distance itself (Sub don't work).

It is the old style to the remote controls, not the new stuff based on powershell.

For this, we work, you must also have parsemif.exe registered on your collector.  It's what the line

strParser = EcmAgtContext.GetHelperAppFile ("parsemif.clsparse")

is.

  • Windows 8 on HP TouchSmart IQ826t (including REMOTE CONTROL) successfully installed

Here's the background.  I have a TouchSmart IQ826t running Windows 7.  I have installed on it, (same partition), Windows 8 RTM using a DVD.  The installation went without a hitch and Windows 8 is installed.  I've had two disappointments: 1) the possibilities of contact not only that it was very difficult to slide on the screen side and the only way to scroll from left to right was to use the scrollbar at the bottom of the screen.  (2) turner of the TV does not work, but I am hopeful that it will be the 26 Oct when Microsoft releases the Media Pack.

Thus, the question that I continued to work on was the touch feature.  I came across an update from HP that I missed for Windows 7 called "NextWindow 1950 Touch Screen Driver Update", which was to improve the answer touch near the edges of the screen and resolved a problem of sensibility in the upper right of the screen.  I downloaded it, (sp49787.exe) and tried to install it.  He would not have installed.  However, the part "NextWindow 1950" of the title was a clue.  I have been looking on the NextWindow site last week and I remember seeing a driver Windows 8 touch screen on their Web site: http://www.nextwindow.com/nextwindow_support/Windows_8_Touch_Screen_Driver.html

I took a chance and downloaded.  Before you try to install it, I created a new system in case restore point where and then installed.  The installation has maybe 4-5 minutes, but he reported that he managed.  Without having to reboot, I checked the tactile ability and WOW, it works now as my 7.5 Windows phone with lots of scrolling left and right as well as perfect sliding on the side of the screen!  Just to be safe, I restarted and everything works great!  Thus, it seems that the driver on the link above is the solution at least for my model.

I found how to get the HP Remote to work with my IQ826t! I was reading something and it reminded me that I had never gone through the list of Services on this computer. I found a service that has been extinguished called, 'Human Interface Device Access. I changed the properties of it from manual to automatic. Rebooted and WOW, the remote will now control the Volume, Mute and other functions, he was ignorant. NOTE: Before I tried this service I also found a service called "HP Software Framework. It was also well manually. I changed it to auto - delayed, but I don't think that this has nothing to do with the question. First try the service of Human Interface. I rebooted several times and the remote control of the TV still works. YES!

  • Qosmio G30 - Media center remote control does not work in windows

    Dear all,

    I have a Qosmio G30-194,
first I had a problem with VGA, send it for repair, when she comes back, I noticed that the remote does not work on windows Media Center, while that in A / mode V work perfectly.

I tried a full system recovery DVD restore, but nothing has changed, even, I installed Windows Vista with all its pilots.
Nothing has changed too, I borrowed a USB IR received for another remote that it worked perfectly with my remote on windows.

Please advise me what to do, should I send it to the service center, or there is an easier solution.

    Hello

    > first of all, I had a problem with VGA, send it for repair, when she comes back, I noticed that the remote does not work on windows Media Center, while that in A / mode V work perfectly.

If you had a problem with the VGA chip then the whole motherboard has been replaced.
Maybe it has something to do with your problem.

Anyway, as far as I know you don t need any special drivers if you want to use the MCE Remote control. For the use of the remote control with Qosmio player you need to connect a USB infrared.

  • Satellite A200 - 25 X - remote control does not work on Windows 7

    Hello

    I have a Satellite A200 - 25 X (originally performed with Vista) and just installed Windows 7.

Problem is that now my remote (model No. G83C0008A110) no longer works. So far, I have not found all the drivers for the remote control.

I hope someone here can help me.

    Thank you

    Hey,.

Have you ever seen the Toshiba driver download page? You have an older model laptop, so pilots are moved to the archives, but it is possible to download all the drivers:

  • I Don t see a button on the remote control to the top of the iTunes window

I m trying to use the Remote app in my Apple Watch but I Don t see a button on the remote control to the top of the iTunes window to fit with my music library

    Hello

The button on the remote control will appear in iTunes once you have tapped on the device to add within the Remote on Apple Watch app. Note that your computer and the watch must be connected to the same Wi - Fi network.

In iTunes 12 and, later, the remote control button is located to the upper left, under the Volume slider. In iTunes 11 and earlier versions, the remote control is at the top right, under the search box.

  • HP Compaq 8000 Elite SFF: Some HP Windows Media Center buttons on the remote control does not

I have a desktop PC HP Compaq 8000 Elite SFF that I use as a home theater PC.  I'm under Windows Media Center with 2 cards tuner and antennae of the OTA.

With this configuration, I use a HP Remote WMC.  The model No. inside the cover of the remote control battery is TSGH-IR01.  The issue I'm having with the remote control that is stationary and move forward and "back" button do nothing when you press.  The light at the top of the remote control flashes when you press those buttons, so I don't think that the buttons themselves infrared are failing.  All the other buttons on the remote work fine.

I wonder if it is a problem of programming/software and if so, what should I do to solve this problem.   It's annoying to not be able to stop a recorded program is playing when you press the stop button, but having to use a mouse to do it instead.   Any help that can be given will be very appreciated!

For anyone having this problem, I discovered the cause after reading a post on the forums of thegreenbutton.tv.  An application in Chrome or any browser Chrome (in my case, the Slimjet browser) is the culprit.

For me, it was the Plex app.  He was diverting the judgment and move forward and back buttons on my remote HP WMC.  As soon as I disabled the application of Plex, the buttons started working.   Never would have guessed that this was the problem!  Hope this helps someone else who might have the same problem.  Ah, tech.  Isn't beautiful?

We have an application that can be controlled via the remote control. It works fine in Windows XP PC. But when I try to access the same by opening Internet Explorer on a PC running Windows 7 Starter OS, I only get the "download 0.00% of 0 bytes'. I disabled Windows Firewall and there is no software antivirus also. What could be the reason for this? How could I solve this problem?

    Thanks in advance,

The system that had the problem was a netbook comes with Windows 7 Starter. We recently discovered that there are some parental control utilities in the netbook that has prevented the LabVIEW remote command access. We were not aware of his presence, and he had not shown any indication that he had blocked communication remote panel. We have uninstalled this utility & remote control began to work as expected. Thanks again for your help.

  • long-lasting problems after windows scammersr had remote control of PC

I got Asian male phone call to the effect that I had serious problems with a virus on my computer. He claimed to be the appeal on behalf of Microsoft Windows. Is not not in computer, I followed a number of directions to him which eventually led to him have the remote control of my computer. The number of callers evil disguised alarm of "oh my God" etc the alleged problems he has discovered and when the purpose of the payment was raised, I ended the call. The call lasted about 40 minutes, and he had the remote for about 5 minutes. It seemed to me that it was associated with a site named PC technocrat. My fear is now that he can have some future remote access or caused other problems that I have not yet thought.

Unfortunately, once you give someone the remote control of your PC, they can do whatever they want.  There is no way for you to know what they did or did not.  You must assume the worst - they left behind software that allows them to take control of your system and/or take all the information they want it without your knowledge, and that they took any information they wanted while being connected.  Then contact the banks and other institutions in finaicial you do business with and take steps to protect your accounts and your credit cards.  Next would be to save only essential or element files and documents such as photos, music, etc and then destroy your computer and restore to factory new.

  • Windows Media Center is unable to start with RF remote control

Remote control: Medion OR28v Vista remote control made by x 10 RF

    1. a couple of days, I tried to start WMC with my remote in the normal way, but nothing happened at all. Normal start was always activate WMC remote once the model has been started.

    2. Subsequently, I reinstalled the original drivers of my back on my hard drive. I then did a Windows Update and 2 X10folders have emerged, (X10HID and X 10 Transreciever(ACPI Complient) Wireless USB device)

    3. now, the remote has yet acivate WMC, after a start UNLESS I go into the PANEL... click on WIRELESS REMOTE SETTINGS... on which WMC activated instantly! (the channel also change Panel that appears, and then had to be cancelled)

    4. I can also activate WMC in the mouse in all THE PROGRAMS by clicking on the folder WMC

    5. I can now use all the functions in the usual way on the remote control. Also can I resart WMC at any time with the remote until I reboot/start.

    6. to reinstall the original drivers, para 2 refers, no functions of the remote control could be used even when starting the mouse during activation of WMC in the folder all THE PROGS of WMC

    .

Thus, PES Advisor How do I get my remote to turn on the WMC after start/restart, notes: the remote control to activate all the functions but only when the WMC is active in the alternative path as described above (paras. 3 and 4)?

  • Cannot get Windows Media Center to learn the remote control codes decoder

I'm trying to put in place my TV card in Windows Media Center in Windows 7.  The card is a Hauppauge HVR 2250, which has a blaster/IR receiver.

The configuration of the set-top box tells me to point the remote at the receiver and "hold" the number 0.  The problem is that the remote control supplied with the set-top box (Motorola RG2400) is not constantly emits the same IR signal when I press and hold the button - signal IR lasts only about a year and a half seconds before turning off. This does not seem to be sufficiently long for Windows Media Center and never detects the signal.

    Can I make it work?

    Hello

  • Windows Media Center learned remote control cable, cannot recognize the Windows Media Center remote control

Running Vista Home Premium 64-bit.  I rent a cable box so I can get some programs at the 3-digit level.  When I've set up my Windows Media Center (WMC), WMC learn successfully the cable box remote 1 - channel upward.  My problem is the next step and change the channel using the Windows Media Center remote control or keyboard.  My keyboard or the WMC remote will change the channel.

I got Windows Media Center to re - learn the cable box remote control twice, which is always successful, but again once, when the time comes to use the Windows Media Center remote control or my keyboard to change the channel, the channel does not change.

Could someone please help me with this?  Thank you in advance.

    Hey kansascitykid,

If you receive your TV signal through a set-top box and Media Center is unable to change the channel, or it changes channels incorrectly, check the following:

    ·        The infrared diffuser is connected to your remote control receiver. If the infrared diffuser is not connected, Media Center cannot send a signal to the set-top box to change a channel.

    ·        The infrared diffuser is well positioned at the front of the set - top box. If you are having trouble placing the IR blaster on the set - top box correctly, try to use a flashlight to locate the signal on the set - top box receiver.

    ·        IR control codes are configured correctly. If constantly changing channels, control IR codes may not have been configured correctly during the installation of TV signal. To reconfigure your TV signal, on the Windows Media Center start screen, highlight toTasks, clickSettings, click on TV, then clickSet up the TV Signal.

    • Center cannot send a signal to the set-top box to change a channel.

  • Pavilion DV7 - 1038ca Windows 7 - remote control does not

    Hi all

Because I updated the OS to Windows 7, the remote control for windows media center does more work. I am now running a windows 7 Ultimate 64B on a Pavilion DV7 - 1038ca.

I read a lot of posts and so far I have found this:

http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=PV-78236-1&LC=en&DLC=en&cc=us&... but it doesn't seem to work for me as an error (9996).

Is there something I can do?

    Thank you.

Simply because the tension seems ok doesn't mean it's all good, if it's heading 2006. Current stored in batteries, it's what makes their work.

  • Receiving IR of HP and MC remote control does not work after upgrading Vista to Windows 7.

I upgraded a laptop HP dv9249us for Win 7 Ultimate (64 bit) and Home Premium (32 bit) respectively of Vista and an HP HDX 18 and found that the small remote controls supplied with the PC HP no longer work the IR receiver to control WMC.  For the moment I tried to find a solution for the dv9249us, as the HDX has also a greater remote specialized for the tv tuner, which is still working, but I found that HP did not provide software Win 7 upgrade for this model.  I tried a thought fix it was to be a known side effect of the upgrade process because he appeared in two different rooms and found a HP IR driver referenced to correct this problem for another model called ENE CIR Receiver Driver (sp41645.exe) and install this on the dv9249us without result.  When you check the Device Manager on the dv9249us I have not found reference to an IR unit either in the areas of Human Interface or Universal Serial Bus controller.  I found a reference IR in the section of the Human Interface of the HD-18 referencing an ENE CIR Receiver.  Ideas that you could provide for a non-professional would be appreciated.

I can not find a model of dv9249 specifically on the hp site. I found the dv9200
series. you have a link to your specific model?

in all cases, try to remove the Device Manager devices and if requested if you want
to remove drivers, select Yes. then make a stop at cold and then turn it on.
    Finally, see

link of a person found an alternative driver that solves the problem) on the page
    (See above).

It seems that several HP models affected related issues.

If this does not resolve the problem, suggest that also posting in the forums of HP.

  • remote control will not access the letters in media center in Windows 7

I use Media Center with Windows 7.   When you use the command remotely (RC6) multiple key does not rely on the number buttons should afford letters on access keys, but all I get is multiple insertions of the number.  My old Media Center XP computer worked correctly.  I can access letters OK using my keyboard but that is rather cumbersome to use in the living room and I prefer to get the remote control works properly.
