Windows repair/recovery

Hello

I had a problem with my PC, so I restore using an image that I got from my pc a little backward to aid once back in windows (Windows 7 pro) and I went to run repair by using the windows installation disc and select fix a couple of percents(1/2%) across the stage It says cannot find the image. Now, the image is on an external HARD drive and was constantly plugged.

What is the problem and how long it takes.

Edit: Changed MM in percentages (1/2%)

Hello

Thank you for your help, I used macrium reflect on it and that seems to work beautifully unlike Norton/Symantec Ghost/2013, I tried to use.

So it seems not windows 7 to the top once is not the best but macrium is defiantly and I advise people to use it plus it's free!

Thanks for your help.

    Hello

I bought a C850 for son #1 who has installed a game (doubtful).
It seems that it has done something for the display driver to win 8; so on startup the screen becomes white. Pressing enter or other random keys produced a form of time-artifacts in time on the screen

I tried pressing f2 during power on, but can't seem to get into setting up so I can insert a disc windows 8 & restore to a system restore point - please can someone advise?

I recommend checking this recovery of Windows 8 and documentation of repair.

There are different ways to repair or recover the system Windows 8.

In my opinion for the moment 1rs you should try the "automatic repair" option which helps you to scans your files and settings, and if it detects a problem with any of them, it takes corrective action. No additional input is required.

    Hello

I guess you want to retrieve the computer laptop back to the factory settings.
To do this, you have two options:

    (1) use the internal HARD drive recovery procedure:
    Details here: [Windows 8 recovery & repair | http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB2A03ES0000R01.htm]

    (2) you must use the Toshiba Recovery Media creator to create first recovery media (disk or key recovery USB flash Recovery)
Then start the laptop using this support would begin a new installation of operating system and would be to install the image of Toshiba. This image is already activated and needs no series keys.

    Hello world

This problem occurred to me yesterday. When I started windows, there is here a dialog box saying "Windows Error Recovery" and below, is

"Unable to start Windows. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. "(I don't remember changing anything)

"If windows files have been damaged or misconfigured, startup can help diagnose and fix the problem. If the power was interrupted during startup, choose Start Windows normally. »

    Hello

Looks like something was wrong with the recovery process and now Windows may start t. Maybe something messed with the registry or a few important Windows files, so I think that the only option to get rid of it using the Toshiba recovery disc. It will wipe the entire HARD disk and restore the factory settings, normally it should work.

Just so enter the Toshiba Recovery disk and follow the instructions on the screen. Windows will be reinstalled, and you get back to factory settings. :)

When I restart my laptop, it tends to be stuck on this windows error recovery screen. It gives me two options
    (1) Lauch Startup Repair
    (2) start Windows normally

Tried both, it turns off, reboots that it ends on the same screen over and over again. Tried to access it via safe mode, nothing helps. tried to fix it through windows disk 7, did not work. tried last good configuration, not good either.

It's the screen that I always end up and it does not go further.

  • Question - loop on Satellite L350-170 Windows error recovery

Toshiba Satellite L350-170 - Intel Pentium Dual Core T3200 2.00 GHz, 2 GB, 250 GB, 17 "TFT, DVDSM, VHP

My wife bought three weeks ago. Use of the lamp. Everything works fine, until a dialogue of "Startup Repair" appeared. Since then, the machine starts.

    Machine goes into "Windows Error Recovery" immediately after the Toshiba start screen and has the following options;
    (1) run the Startup Repair tool
    (2) start Windows normally

Option 2 results in a blank screen and finally goes back to the screen "Windows Error Recovery".

    Option 1 has the reboot dialog box;

"Your computer was unable to start.
Startup Repair is checking your system for problems... »

At this point, the Toshiba laptop enters an endless loop.

So what I do now? There is no disc came with the laptop, so I can't reinstall the operating system. The dealer (Comet) is less useful and don't know no refund or Exchange for a defective product.

    Can someone please!

    Try this:

Press F8 immediately after that the laptop has been turned on.
Then choose the first option called fix my computer.
Then a new window should open and there you can choose the option called Toshiba recovery.

Please note then this procedure would start the Toshiba HDD recovery and the BONE to relocate again. This would be to format the whole HARD drive and set the OS to the factory settings.

In my eyes, you can use this procedure for recovery of HARD drive, or you can try to reinstall the OS using the Toshiba recovery disc.
Both lead to the same results

    Good bye

  • P2-1120: Windows repair disk

My computer Windows 7 needs a repair disk to initialize, but I can't do the him since he cannot start... My other computer is a windows 10 and I wonder if a repair made a computer disc windows 10, be compatible with a Windows 7?

    OneOneWorld

    Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

I read your post about needing a Windows repair disk and wanted to help.

Sorry, but from what I remember, the Win10 option is to create a recovery disc - and is supposed to be written on a USB key.

If your Win7 PC can boot on USB, you can give it a try.

But if it does not, the ISO file to create a repair CD Win7 can be obtained (with supplement) from this link: http://neosmart.net/blog/2009/windows-7-system-repair-discs/

When you download this file, it will be an ISO file.

To make a CD bootable it, you will need to download and install ImgBurn.  Once you have installed, run, select the option "Save image to disk file" and select the downloaded ISO file and that it points to a blank CD.

To make a USB bootable of it, you will need to download and install RUFUS.  Once you have that, it is executed in the input of the unit, use the drop down menu to select the USB stick.  Near the bottom right, where is written 'Create a bootdisk to aid', select the ISO file downloaded.

Then the media start and run Startup Repair three times - that's right, three times - as it takes three passes to repair all files of the boot loader.

IF it works, when you delete the media and reboot, you should then start a Windows desktop computer.

    Good luck

I'm a volunteer and I do not work for, or represent, HP.

    Hello

    ·         Are you able to start on the computer?

    ·         You get the error message?

    ·         What anti-virus program do you use?

Follow these methods and check if that helps:

    Method 1:

I suggest you to download and run the latest Microsoft security on your computer Scanner and check if it helps:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: the data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means there is a risk of data loss.

    Method 2:

I suggest you install the latest anti-virus Microsoft Security essential on the computer program and check if it helps.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/products/security-essentials

Important note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Method 3:

If you have Windows XP CD you can try to check and scan of System File Checker running if this can help.

I have no way to use a cd drive or a USB on the laptop. Do I have to redo a file 'repair\system' from scratch, or is it on the hard drive in another directory? I read each article of Microsoft on the corrupted file / lack of issue, but there is no explanation for the repair file to miss.

Again miss me the real "system" file in the directory "c:\windows\repair".

    Hello mtb123,

    1. have you tried the steps suggested by Srinivas R in the previous post to make a startup on your computer repair using the Windows installation disc?

    2. you remember what changes you made to the computer before you start this error?

I suggest that you access the system recovery options using a Windows Vista installation disc and do a startup repair and if this fails, you can do a restore of the system from the Windows recovery environment.

You can see the previous post of Srinivas R to verify the information on the system restore.
