Windows Security Service cannot be started, how to fix this?

Hello
I use Windows 7 Home Premium. Window Defender won't start. When I click on it in the Panel, he says "this program is disabled." There is a link that says: "If you do not use this program, click here to turn on. When I click on this link I get the message "the dose of specified service does not exist as an installed service (error code: 0 x 80070424)". " When I go to the Panel and the Panel of Services, the program is not listed. So I downloaded the program and tried to install it. He would not have installed. I get an error that says it is part of Windows Vista and requires no installation. It's strange to me that I am running windows 7.
I then in the center of the Action. There, I found the Windows Security Center Service is disabled. There is a button to turn it on. Thought that would solve my problem I clicked it, only to get the message, "The Windows Security Center Service Can not be started."
I ran the program Microsoft Fix It. There is no problem. The program is not there or if it is I don't think that and it want let me install it.
Can you please tell me how to get Windows operational defender and how to get started (running) Windows Service Security Center.
Thank you... David Sam

Some other security programs will be disable Windows Defender, it is normal to prevent conflicts.

Do you have what security/antivirus program installed?

    b. double-click Security Center, click on tab log .

    c. Select "this account" click on the Browse button, type Local Service and click ok.

    Hi tonimiller1986,

    ·         What is the number and the model of the computer?

If you are using a portable computer, make sure that your laptop battery is charged and/or the power supply is correct. If the problem is not with the power supply while the issue might be with the BIOS. You can get in contact with the manufacturing system to get the updated BIOS update or reset to default values and check if it helps.

    Caution:

    • Be careful when you change the BIOS settings. The BIOS interface is designed for advanced users, and it is possible to change a setting that can prevent your computer from starting properly.
    • BIOS update should be made only if necessary (to solve a compatibility problem, for example). It can be a complicated process, and if an error occurs, your computer could be rendered inoperative. Be sure to observe the instructions of the manufacturer.

    I hope this helps.

    Hello WK99,

    1. you have any software from third-party security installed on your computer?

If you have security software installed on your computer, I suggest you uninstall and reinstall the security software.

If still does not work, run a file system on your computer check tool. You can read the article which will give you information on how to use the System File Checker tool to fix the system files missing or corrupted on Windows Vista or Windows 7:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833

This can also be caused by an infection of malicious software on your computer. I suggest that you run a Malware scan on your computer and check if you have the same problem. You can follow the link below and run Windows Onecare scan online.

What antivirus program you have installed? Many antivirus programs and security have their own version of a "Security Center" that take for the one integrated in Vista/XP. If this is your case, then the behavior you're seeing is by design.

If this is not the case, your computer is probably infected.

There is no way for us to know who it is from what you wrote, please supply, the lack of details to get more help.

The first Question of troubleshooting: what has changed between the time where things worked and the time, they did not?

The second issue of Windows troubleshooting: what is the status of virus/malware of the machine? If you think it's clean, what programs (and versions) allows you to determine this?

Make sure that the computer is clean:

  • "the center of security services cannot be started.

    Vista Home Premium

My security of the Windows Security Center service is disabled and I can't start at all. The Red Shield has a constant cross thereon. I'm afraid that I don't have a firewall.

I have the basics of security of Microsoft on OK but I don't think that this has a firewall and I have a free version of the Antivirus AVG installed 2012 edition but again, don't think that there is a firewall on it?

Any help to solve would be appreciated. My computer knowledge is pretty basic you could collect and I need step by step instructions, I'm afraid.

    Thank you.

    (1) Windows has its own firewall - and does not normally require any other.

    (2) NOT to use two anti-virus on the same PC programs - they will fight them to the death!

    (3) AVG is bloated - and since 2006 (when I used to sell!) - I would now recommend against its use.

Uninstall AVG, then run Remover utility

    MSE to uninstall and reinstall.

What other anti-virus have NEVER been installed on this machine?

    Download AVG Remover here

    http://www.Avg.com/us-en/utilities

Follow the instructions to run it, and then restart the machine (upon request or not, and if the program restarted already or not).

After the reboot, open a command prompt and run the following command

    NETSH WINSOCK RESET

You will be advised to reboot - do.

  • Political group customer service couldn't start - how to solve this problem? The latest in a series of problems.

For completeness, I'll give the full story here. We have a computer that is running Windows Vista Edition Home Premium. The other morning, following an update of Windows and reboot, when the user tried to connect it receives the message "user profile Service service has no logon. User profile cannot be loaded.

We took the advice online to log in with an administrator account and change the parameter of the register for the profile, reseting certain values to 0. We have also followed the instructions to remove the ntuser.dat file. However, we have not find a file that was just ntuser.dat. They also had the long series of numbers after them, apparently, which indicates that they are temporary files.

After several attempts to fix it, she now gets a different error when it tries to connect: "customer service group strategy was able to start.

It can log on to the account in safe mode, and I can connect on his computer using his account from my computer on the same home network with no problems.

We tried to copy the directory of the user to a new profile, except for the ntuser.dat file, as suggested by using Windows. It took a good 5-6 hours to copy, and the new profile seems to be heavily watered. None of its setting have been postponed, webshots will not run, Firefox keeps asking if she wants to set as the default browser even after she told him Yes every time, and it cannot access the settings of user accounts in the new profile. Its almost as if he's really the administrator permissions, even if the accounts and users control panel shows it does.

We know that two other things were when the Windows update that caused the recovery occurred; iTunes was a large download, and Symantec is running a regular security sweep. Safety analysis showed that continuing execution, but was no progress. After consulting a few forums of Symantec, we managed to cancel the process and uninstall Symantec, which may be the only way to stop the analysis. Apparently active Symantec scans are known to cause errors in the connection profile. However, this has not fixed the problem.

When connect us to access in safe mode and look at the advanced user account settings, profiles include two profiles with his original user name. Basic user accounts list shows only one. I have no idea what it means.

His profile has now ntuser.dat file. However, we cannot copy or delete it - its used by the system. We can also restore a previous version of the file ntuser.dat - apparently it isn't getting saved in archive (probably for the same reason, we cannot delete or copy).

We tried to do a restore of the system since the start of the day. It was while he was still the "user profile service failed", but before the "political group customer service could not start.

We have done sfc/scannow. He said that some files were corrupt, but he could not fix them. I couldn't understand what files it thought were corrupt.

The Client Services group does not run when I see him the original profile in Mode safe. However, I don't know if it's supposed to be running in Mode safe or not. There is no way to start; to start or stop options are shaded out and unselectable. The Group Services Client IS running when I check with a different profile on the system.

Would appreciate a fix for this, or at least a way to create a new profile that covers all sound settings and didn't result in a complete disaster.

I think we have this resolved. Unfortunately, there was some steps as long as I'm not sure which were needed. It includes:

    * The instructions here: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_vista-security/user-profile-service-service-failed-the-logon-user/4ed66b21-c23e-42f1-98b2-706dcf931fae

(change of some registry entries for the profile)

Uninstall of Symantec, which had an automatic scan which had been interrupted and was stuck not being able to complete or be cancelled.

    * The final bit of trouble who worked was (hope I get this right):
    (1) delete the registry as indicated above.
    (2) rename the profile folder.
    (3) restart the computer and let it create a new profile folder with the same name.
    (4) copy the files newly created to the old profile profile's ntuser.
    (5) by removing the new profile and rename the old profile back.

And now things seem to be working, if she had to re-run Setup on some programs.

    Hello

    1. what operating system do you use?
    2. don't you make changes on the computer before this problem?

In response to the questions above could help us help you better. However, you can try the methods below.

Method 1: Search for the issue in the clean boot state.

From your computer by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs so that you can determine if a background program is interfering with your game or program. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot".

I downloaded months ago security essentials and continue to periodically receive this msg. The program continues to work but I keep verity my computer and it is always checked again and again? Help, please!

    Hello, welcome. Please, check:

    ·         Run a full scan of MSE,

    ·         Download free Malwarebytes, update and perform a full scan;

    ·         Go start, those offered in search programs and files right click the gear services, run as administrator, type Yes or your Word as password, scroll down to Security Center to right tab, double click it and check if startup type is automatic (delayed start) close and click on restart at the top left.

It can be caused also by too many applications running at startup, check, go to start, type msconfig on files and research programs, right click and run as administrator, yes or password, click on start to superior and see how many programs you have here. Rgds.

  • My windows XP startup noise is not, how to fix this?

Years back when we first of all our Office Windows XP Home Edition, I played around with the sounds and played with the settings for the sounds (such as the windows startup sound and windows closed down noise), and now I really regret. I don't remember what I did, but I did weird things complicated, and now whenever I connect to my account, I do not start noise. :( I HAVE TRIED to return to the menu control panel, sounds and audio devices and tried to change it on the Windows default setting, but IT won't WORK! I tried like 1000 times, but it still does not go nostalgic return to windows startup settings. Is it possible, maybe something to do with the registry (I think I accidentally played a bit with it) to restore my settings so that I can hear the sound of starting windows again? I will always be grateful to anyone who can help me.

I think that your user profile account is maybe damaged. See if you create a new user if the default sounds work for this user.

If Yes, then you will need to copy the information from your profile to the new account.
