Wire cut in Express VI

I think I have found a bug in the generation of LV expressVI code. Bug concerns rogue son broken on the back of the express VI and their run blocking. If anyone else has encountered this before? Is there a solution?

Link to the message on lava.org with screenshots

It is a bug, and I presented the CAR #478237 to solve the problem. For the short term, the best way around the problem is the show, the face before the express VI to open the block diagram and remove the wrong wire. You need save the VI as a separate VI. Alternatively, you can cut and paste the code into your original block diagram.

  • Issue of cut wire

It is a very easy problem, but I'm a bit confused.  I try to the VI of formula of output to an indicator.  I get an error of wire cut with the following text:

"You have connected two terminals of different types. The source type is double 2D array [64-bit real (precision ~ 15 digits)]. The type of sink is twofold [64-bit real (precision ~ 15 digits)]. »

Should what type of indicator I use?

    Thank you!

Remove broken wire (Ctrl + B).

  • Satellite C660 - screen problem

When my wife got off the plane a luggage handler helped pushing his mother in wheelchair and dragging one of the bags behind him allowing my wife to take care of the rest of the luggage. Unfortunately, the laptop that sat on that bag decided that he didn't like the ride, he jumped the bag and tried to get into the terminal under its own power from the battery.

There is no visible damage to the laptop as it was inside the bag and no crack or anything on the screen. When turn on the laptop, the screen may remain empty, flicker or it shows the log on and office but instead of white to white, it displays a purple rose, only showing not ecru is affected. Other colors appear correctly although they look as if the display is set to 256 colors or the use of the wrong driver.

I plugged an external monitor to it and that works very well with the color. If the computer laptop screen flickers a light tap at the back of it he still will get, but the color is not corrected. I think it may be just a loose connection or wire cut between the screen and the motherboard but don't know if the color change would be caused by the present.

Satellite C660 (PSC1LA-00J001) looks brand new, but I don't think it would be useful to take to get fixed.

Any ideas on what could be the problem?

It took me 2 1/2 hours to post this same exact message because somewhere in there is profanity or inappropriate language. :(

    Hello

On this virtual path, it is not possible to say with certainty what the problem is here. Your laptop must be disassembled and all should be checked. Graphics card seems to be OK, so it must be a problem with connectors, cable or with the screen itself.

Why not? Same display exchange is not so problematic. Googling around you will find many online stores where you can order the new display, if necessary. Even on eBay you can get it at reasonable price.

If you do not have experience with this kind of things I recommend you contact the closest to the Toshiba service provider or some independent IT service and ask for help. Check what options are available and how much you have to pay for the repair.

  • Defective screen on Equium A100-147

I got my laptop about 3 years now and the screen seems pixelated when I move the screen back.

To get the screen back to normal, I have to "agitation" everywhere. It's usually worse when the screen has been closed, and it seems to take more time to do it right back.
What could be wrong? A loose connection? Y at - it a fix for this?
    Thank you

    Hi vlc3k,
looks like a wire cut down to me...

to resolve this problem, replace the wires to the lcd screen.

Be careful when opening your laptop or consult a servicepartner near you.

  • write the bmp incompatible aid

In labview 2011, the help on the bmp 'writing' vi reference is different from what is shown in the dialog using the schema context of the block for the necessary data types.  The reference to assistance to the first (2) elements of the cluster as U16 and U8, image type and image depth, respectively.  However, context-sensitive help shows these two as I32 (I just plugged a wire cut at the entrance of 'image' on writing in the comics and on bmp icon context-sensitive help, which displays the data expected for this entry).

    Which is correct?

The function is correct, the file of detailed help associated with this function does not.

Interestingly, the BMP reading help file shows the correct data types.

Good fishing!  A person of OR will probably issue a CAR # to have corrected documentation.

  • LV FPGA - Front Panel strict Typedefs are not flexible

    Hello

When using LabVIEW FPGA and implement a strict typedef on the Panel before the FPGA, this causes issues with the FPGA generated in the PC Code reference. I have attached a picture.

In the code of my PC, I generate the ref FPGA, then use it. In the subVIs downstream, I use the same REF. It works very well. But if I never change the strict typedef and recompile the code FPGAS, can I get the wire cut as in the attached photo. I have to manually recreate this indicator FPGA Ref and cut and paste in all the subVIs downstream, pain in the ass!

One might think that the strict typedef should not update in this manual. You can fix in future versions, or I do something wrong?

    Configuration information:

    • Open FPGA VI reference is to the bitfile and dynamic mode
    • FPGA VI on benchmark is the same bitfile
    • Downstream of fpgaRef indicators come bitfile too.

    Thank you

    Justin Reina

You bind the FPGA reference to an interface or to the VI?  I think that if it's related to the VI you should not see this problem, but if link you to the interface of this problem would be understandable.  Also, have you considered reference FPGA so a type definition?  Then, you only set in one place if it does not break.

EDIT: in case it isn't clear, by binding, I hear a right click on the indicator and choosing configure the FPGA reference.

  • impossible to clean - nothing happens press ctrl-u or button

    Dear users,

I'm unable to self-cleaning my code in the block diagram. I was trying to reduce the code in VI (subVIs code transfer) and I realized later that I'm not able to clean up.

He has worked previously. There is also an older version of the file, which I am able to clean. It is only for the report that there is a revision, for which the cleaning worked. I'd like to get back to it and maintain the new version.

    I have reviewed the following:

    -No wire cut in the structures of comment (was involved in LV pre-2013);

    -Can I clean selections or the son selected;

What else should I check, please?

p.s. I'm not able to download the file/project [due to the complexity and confidentiality]

I discovered the reason why I am unable to clean. Take the screw below a try it yourself.

  • Ref FPGA type-def lost connection when moving to another computer

I have a VI that opens an FPGA VI reference and links the reference to the type definition. The VI works fine on a single computer (Win7; LV 2010, module FPGA 10.0.0).

However, when I open the same VI on another computer (WinXP, LV 2010, module FPGA 10.0.0), the checkbox for reference FPGA VI for the definition of the type of binding is not checked and, as a result, I get a cut wire when the reference enters a Subvi, which accepts the definition of reference FPGA VI as input type.

See the below two screen captures. The picture above shows the situation on the first computer, where all is well. The second picture shows the situation on the second computer. Note the checkbox disabled in the dialog box and the wire cut on the right...

Would could be the reason for this problem? How can I avoid it?

BTW: I use the same VI on a couple of other computers (all Windows 7), where all is well.

In fact, the problem was not caused by the other PC in itself, but rather by the fact that on the other PC, the application was in the directory with a different name. The FPGA VI reference type definition uses an absolute path, however, who gets broken when the application is in a different directory.

Might be good to store the relative path in the future versions of LV.

As a workaround, just use the FPGA VI reference in dynamic mode.

  • Photo of RGB of treatment with the functions of the IMAQ

    Hello!

I have a CMUcam. I take a picture and I try to use the IMAQ functions to process the image, but they do not accept the image as input. :'(

How these functions can see the image?

    Thanks for your help!

You get a wire cut when wiring a photo to a VI IMAQ as data types are not compatible.  Unfortunately, LabVIEW does not come with a VI that makes this work.  Here is an example that should help you.

  • Have we not convert the dll too if we convert vi to the old version

    Hi all

I get an error of a VI that I converted to an earlier version of 2014 LV---> LV 6, if I open the Vi in BT 6, I can't start it because it gives me error that "VI is not executable.

This VI is a Thorlab FW102c filter wheel (which uses UART.dll).

(I am trying to replace the wheel filter on a new work on my old system that uses windows xp and LV 6)

The Vi contalns a dll, it has a wire cut (I can't sign the dll or browse the function palette and locate the dll), which I can not connect in LV 6.

Is someone can tell me, what can be the problem?

Attached in my vi and the dll.

The error in LV 6 on Windows xp. (the program and the filter wheel works well on Windows 7)

You can check if Thorlabs has a driver that will focus on the old version.

You can also watch to see which means that there is communication between the screws in LV6.  It might be easier to get just two diff talk systems.

Whatever it is, you have to invest resources.  It would make sense to invest in something more forward thinking.

  • Use the angular position of the encoder to trigger Digital out

    Hello

I am a novice user of labview, I have access to three modules, two NI9201 and a NI9401.

I have an angular encoder is used to measure the angular position of a crankshaft of engine, what I try to do is to use the encoder to trigger a digital camera (spark in the motor event) at a certain angular position.  For example, I would like to start up (or) stalled, then I want to change that to + 5 degrees on the encoder, etc.

So far, I am able to read in the angular encoder when the engine is running, I am also able to output digital signals even if I can't find a way to connect the two.

If anyone has an idea how to do this, it would be greatly appreciated, I am attaching my VI.

    Thanks in advance,

    Nick

    Hi Nick,

I hope that the vi attached you will get on the right track.  It's just a general concept.

The while loop will work until you press the stop button.

I guess you'll need a spark by revoultion.

This VI is really just an If/Then

If the encoder value is equal to (in this example) zero,.

    Trigger digital output.

I know that I have a wire cut, but I didn't know how to get the angular position of you DAQmx.

Let me know if this help. (Also let me know if I'm off-target)

    Good luck

  • IMAQ ImageToArray VI I16 ouput stop working

Someone has experienced problem with the IMAQ ImageToArray VI as the exit I16 stops working suddenly. The U16 works fine however.

    Hello

Could you elaborate a bit on your problem? Do you already have the IMAQ ImageToArray VI working with I16 output, but now it no longer works? Is there a wire cut from the output? What changes have been made since he was working? This information should help us to hone in on the issue. In the meantime, I found a forum related to a similar question (http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/IMAQ-quot-image-to-array-quot-directly-wired-to-quot-array-to/td-p/2...). Have a great day!

  • convert volts frequency?

I am LV 8.6 and MIO-16-E-1 data acquisition.

The DAQ Assistant to IO works perfectly.

I tried extensively - in vain - to display a graph of analysis of spectrum frequency of data acquisition (which displays the voltage only when you use the DAQ Assistant to e/s with this DAQ card).

All the efforts I made results in a time axis X instead of wanted ffrequency X axis.

I tried vi Express 'Spectral Measuments', of various FFT vi, the add-on 'Spectral Measuments' and the 'Signal Analysis' Signal Processing.

All of them were issued to a graph of waveform, in part by a cluster of power spectrum wire, in part through a wire double complex and partly by a thread of dynamic data.

All my attempts produced a graph of form of wave, but only with a time axis X, none freq X axis.

Of course, I monitor something very basic.

    Any help would be appreciated.

The x axis 'Time' is just a text label that you can change to anything you want.

If the data is not correct, it's another story. I don't understand what you mean by 'Party'. There should be a single wire from the Express VI to the chart.

  • Old Visor Edge

I have one edge of the visor which is about 6 or 7 years. He was inactive for about 3 years in its box and I decided to go out, she and now he used to meet even under load. I guess it's just the battery and must be replaced. But I don't want to buy a new battery, if this isn't the problem. Any suggestions? Think the experts out there that is the solution more likely? I'd love to help!

    Thank you

    It's the battery.

So that the charger is not damaged (wire cut, etc..)

You can try the old "reset in cradle" - plug it in and press the reset button.  Let it load for 3 hours, then try to turn it on.
