Wireless connection on Equium A60

Hello

Can someone help me please? I just got wireless broadband, but whenever I try to connect to the router I get a message saying please switch the wireless network. I just found out that my laptop Equium A60 has a switch on the side missing wireless; There is just an empty hole.

When I checked the programs, it seems that Atheros is on the pc. I'm not very teckie and would like to help please with what I do or what I need to buy something for my laptop?
Thank you

Hello Jess

Each portable computer shipped with the wireless card has a sticker on the underside. Please check to make sure if the card is on the Board of Directors. You can also open the Device Manager and check the entries under NETWORK CARDS.

  • Internet connection and Equium A60

    Hello!
A few months ago, I bought a Toshiba Equium A60. I could never use the modem to connect to the internet via my BT phone line, but the jacket LAN worked well and I plugged my laptop on the net in my workplace. Sudenly it has stopped working, and after the computer went twice to a Toshiba repair center and after reinstalled the system twice and after doing everything that has been said to do to the Toshiba help line, nor the modem or LAN jacket works.

For the modem, troubleshooting says that maybe there is a problem in COM1 and that I should reinstall the system (what I did) and for the local network, it always says that there is no cable connected (I tried 2 different cables and 2 Sockets for connecting different!).

I also tried a USB modem and it does not work! Can someone help me? Or my laptop always uses smoke signals to communicate to the world?

    Hello

In my opinion, you should try to remove the two components of the Device Manager, and then restart the device. The new hardware components should be detected and installed correctly. If there is no success, this is obviously some malfunction of the equipment.

If you connect the LAN cable to your laptop, it must there have enabled the small green light contact and if there is a transfer of data that the orange indicator light should also be activated and flashing. If you connect the LAN cable is it green light turned on? If this isn't the case, you should speak also to the network administrator to check if the socket you are using is properly enabled.

  • Wireless connection on Satellite A60 743 does not work properly

I can't get any connection to wireless internet with my laptop. How can I use it? This notebook should have wireless, but I tried to connect and nothing happens! Please help me!

    Best regards

    NASI

    Hello

Don t be angry against me and sorry for my next hard words but these statements likethis laptop should have wirelessor I tried to connect and nothing happensare bulls * t!

Do you know what is Wlan and how does it work?
Regarding your statement I n t think so!

First of all why you propose this notebook should support the WLan card! Who told you that!
I checked the hardware configuration of this laptop and Satellite A60 743 was delivered WITHOUT WLan minPCI card!

Why you n t check in the first step!
You should check the WLan card availability in Device Manager. Under network adapters, you should see the wireless network card.
If the wireless network adapter does not appear, you have no. WLAN!

  • Problem with wireless connection on Equium L350

    Hello

OK, today I went and replaced my L350 which was stolen by a replacement. Previously, I could set up my connection Wireless in a few seconds. Now, I can't.
As far as I know, nothing has changed with my Sky router, wireless devices can connect to perfectly.

One thing I noticed was that when I press the FN, I have no F8 option, it goes directly from F7 to F9. I've never had to set up my wireless with these keys FN before, so could I have a slightly different model without knowing?

I get a light orange next to the switch Wi - Fi on the front, but only when really close to the router. In addition, it turns off when the laptop is put into mode 'sleep' or the lid is closed, something that never happened with my old versoin.

Any help greatly appreciated, esp that I need this laptop for my degree.

To be honest, it's very strange question. If your laptop is preinstalled with Image Recovery (factory settings), everything should be OK.

What is the status of WLAN card in Device Manager?

BTW: light orange compatible WLAN Card has nothing to do with the distance to the router and it is logical that, after switching mode standby WLAN led is OFF.

  • Equium A60 - no wireless but I don't want to use WLan connection

    Hello

I just bought a laptop Equium A60 without the installed adapter Atheros AR5001 wireless card.
Do I need to buy this type of card adapter to run wireless or are there other models Atheros card I can use or would it be better to buy a usb wireless adapter.

    Thank you juan

    Hello

You can purchase a USB WiFi key.
These sticks are cheap and easy to use!

If your Wlan router would support WLan 802. 11 B/G or N then I recommend buying a USB WLan stick that favourable two WiFi G and N standards
802.11 N standard is the most recent and you would get the fastest connection using 802.11 N.

But like I said; It depends on your WLan router

  • Equium A60 - no wireless network connection

    Hello world

I have had a good look through the forums and can't find anything related to this but my apologies if this has been addressed elsewhere :-)

I set up a wireless home network with a Windows XP desktop computer with a router and a laptop old Win98, WinXP SP2, which I can't connect and an Equium A60. I installed two different network on the A60 USB adapters, seems to be okay with all of them except that there is no "wireless network connection" listed under network connections Control Panel. Both cards work fine on two other machines, so there must be a problem with the A60. I installed an adapter and then uninstalled before trying another.

Under control-> connections Panel Network, I can see an old broadband connection and the connection to the Local network (which is allowing me to connect to the router via Ethernet, so that the router will work), but the wireless network connection icon is not there. The driver for the USB adapter makes its appearance in Device Manager and is reported as working properly, but if it worked correctly then (I think) a wireless connection icon should appear - it happened with my other WinXP desktop.

Any ideas of what could be the cause?

    Thanks in advance
    Gareth

    Hello

I guess that the external WLan USB stick has been recognized one installed correctly. You said it appears in Device Manager. Are you sure that the WLAN USB key has been recognized to 101%? !!

If the WLAN USB key is recognized correctly, check the properties of this stick. (I think you should right click and then click on properties).

But if the stick was not recognized, you must verify the properties of the single USB ports and power safe mode.
Choose the USB single root hubs in device, right click, properties, tab power management Manager and disable the option called allow the computer to turn off the device to save energy.

    So maybe it helps

  • Related issue wireless on Equium A60

I have a laptop Equium A60 and upward of unitll recently, that I would never use wireless, but now I do, and I seem to have run into a problem.

The computer is (apparently) configured to use wifi, but when I went to turn on the switch on the side of the computer's wireless, it wasn't a slide, but rather as a "on pop, pop off" piece of plastic with no way to 'turn on' the wifi connection.

Is anyway to turn on internal capacity?
    Thank you

    Hello Laura

As much as I know WLAN card is not available on laptops Equium A60.
Each laptop with WLAN card model has a WLAN sticker placed in the lower corner. Please check if such sticker is placed on your laptop s down.

  • Equium A60 issue of the wireless USB mouse

I bought 3 optical mouse for my equium A60. The first 2 have worked for a short period, but then appeared to be very erratic, beating on the entire screen and the slightest touch. I just bought a third and spend money on it to combat this problem, but it's always like it. It's a belkin wireless optical mouse. The connection is USB and I have no driver to install. It flies just all over the screen completely uncontrollable. Please can someone help.

    Hello

Have you checked the pointer options in the properties of the mouse?
In my opinion, you should try changing the query options to slow down the pointer options.
In addition, improve it the accuracy of the pointer must be marked.

  • Equium A60 - 157 HELP Card/PCMCIA wireless network!

    Hi all!

This problem has been frustrating me for at least 2 months.

OK, I recently bought a Belkin Wireless G Notebook Card (wifi card).
The first time I installed the wifi card it worked perfectly. I powered
extinguish your laptop (after I had finished working on it). The next day
When I turned the laptop on, you guessed it, the wifi card was not
work. I did not remove the wifi card for the power off/power on stage.

When I went into Device Manager, a yellow exclamation point was
above the wifi card. When I looked at the properties of wifi cards, I found the
    following message appears:

This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12)
If you want to use this device, you will need to disable one of the other devices on this system.
Click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device.

I tried unistalling and reinstalling the wifi card. I tried to use the latest Belkin drivers for the wifi card. Sometimes it works, but when I have the power turned off/turned on the laptop it s not go.

One of the ways I got the card to operate was removing and inserting the card several times
until he finds resources and finally worked. I put t use this method as, obviously, I might damage the cardbus slot and the card. In the meantime I ve been using a Belkin Wireless G USB network adapter. I had no problems with the USB adapter, but I prefer to use the wifi card. This is because the majority of the wifi card is housed inside the laptop, so it s not easily evicted. The USB adapter is great for wireless networks inside, but too risky for roaming outside.

I had this problem of 1.70 at 1.8 ° C bios version, and I still have it with revision 1.90. I intend to return m wifi card in the store for an Exchange, but I have a really bad feeling that the same thing will happen with the replacement of the card. I m not convinced that the current wifi card is defective, because it works perfectly when he gets the resources.

I tried to manually configure resources on the devices, but I have a major problem. Windows seems to be LOCKED in the automatic settings. The automatic settings check box is grayed out completely, it is impossible for me clear the checkbox. I did not take anything in the bios that can help me solve this problem.

I noticed that there are many devices running off IRQ (interrupt requests) 19, when you view resources by type in Device Manager. These devices are:

Standard enhanced PCI to USB Host Controller
USB host controller standard OpenHCD x 2 (two entries)
Texas Instruments OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller
    Controller CardBus Texas Instrumetns PCI-1410

When the wireless card works she also runs IRQ 19, but as I said before Windows is locked in the automatic settings and do not manually configure the hardware resources.

Equium A60-157 is not provided on board, but it has the potential for. WiFi L.e.d. on the front panel, physical location for wifi turn on side panel wireless icon and F8. Someone know if Toshiba offer an upgrade service, or can I install wifi on board myself?

ANYONE, PLEASE HELP ME WITH THESE QUESTIONS!
    Thanks for your time!

    Hello

    I found this for you:

Both devices have received a same ports of entry/exit (e/s), the same interrupt, or the same Direct memory access channel (whether through BIOS, the operating system, or a combination of both). This error message may also appear if the BIOS did not allocate enough resources to the device (for example, if a (USB) universal serial bus controller does not get a break in the BIOS because of a damaged MPS (Multiprocessor) system table).
You can use Device Manager to determine where the conflict is and turn off the device in conflict. On the tab General properties of the device, click Troubleshoot to start the Troubleshooting Wizard.
Try disabling the features of conflict. It will be interesting to know if the problem will occur again.

In my opinion, you should contact the Service partner and ask them if the unit is ready for the Wi - Fi module. Sorry, but I'm not sure about that and I don't want to give you a bad information about it.

  • Equium L40 - lost wireless connection

I have an Equium L40-156 under Vista and wireless became intermittent. The switch light would go out or maybe turn on at startup. In the end, I did a restore of the entire system from scratch and installed the latest drivers (Realtek) wireless.

This seemed to cure the problem and it has been fine for the last 2 months. However, the light is now out again (it was working an hour ago), and there is no wireless connection.

I tried a restore of the system and also installed the latest driver from Toshiba, but I still can't run. I hesitate to start over again once it takes all day to load programs and updates. Can anyone suggest what I can do or is this another bug of Vista?

  • Problem connecting to a printer USB to Equium A60

I tried to connect a USB printer, Photosmart C3180, to my laptop Toshiba Equium A60 model but when I load the software and follow the instructions it seems to load correctly, then at the end the following error message appears "specified Port unknown".

I tried everything the printer manufacturing suggested and even downloaded the latest Toshiba BIOS updates, but this still does not work. The PC detects new hardware but won't install it.

I tried with another USB printer and the same message appeared.
    Any ideas?

    Hello

It seems that the printer port name specified does not exist on your computer.
You must use the Print Manager to see the current list of ports, you can print and use one of these.
