wireless connectivity issues

My Pavilion dv7-1448dx entertainment notebook product # NV213UA #ABA, Windows 7 ultimate x 64 OEM can't keep Atheros AR5007 802. 11 b / g WiFi adapt & MINIAPP connected wireless for quite some time.

I've updated all my drivers, closer to my modem & router.

I use a 150 M Portable 2906 Mini router Wireless USB sharing Internet Wireless-N Router.

Connection duration +/-3-5 min, then abandon the connection. I also checked with my ISP and checked my service get 2 mb download & 10 MB download.

Any suggestions? or advice as to WHAT I'm doing wrong?

Deborah M souls.

I apologize, my letter should be more explaining.

When I wrote about interferencies, which mainly is the most frequent reason for the signal drop, I lie on other devices like cordless phones, devices bluetooth, ovens and garage door openers in microwave. Funny, but same Cristmas lights can couse the reduction in signal.

Solution - change in broadcasting chanel on your router to find the chanel that have no interferencies, then we will have a clear and stable signal.

To do this, you must open your router page. I do not know what browser are you using, Mozila is much better for this kind of work.

Page of the router you can get documentation of your router, or you can get "default gateway settings" in your network properties.

Open in Windows 7 Control Panel. On most Windows 7 computers, which is done via Start -> Control Panel.

With now open Control Panel, click network and Internet .
In the window network and Internet , click network and sharing Center at the top.

Click on the link change map settings on the left side of the screen to the network and sharing Center .

Note: Don't worry, you does not change your Windows 7 network settings. All you do is display of the IP address of a default gateway, which is already configured.

Find the network connection that you want to display the IP Address of the default gateway. On most Windows 7 computers, your active network connection is probably one called wireless network connection.
Double-click the network connection, which should show a wireless network connection status dialog box. This window has a different name if your network connection has a different name.

With the State of the connection open window, click the Details... button.

In the network connection Details window, find IPv4 Default Gateway under the property column.

The IP address listed as value for IPv4 gateway is the IP address of a default gateway that is using your computer Windows 7.

You can now use the gateway IP address to access router, use network commands to help solve your problems, you have, etc.

It should bi something like 192.168.0.1 (or another addition to the last two digits)

If you can reveal it to the router's manual, much better, just skip over all.

Open your browser and in the address bar type adres abbove.

First open the login page. Plase, take a look in your router manual to the default user and pass. Usually it is admin, admin, but it can change.

It should open your start page of the router like this

On the settins, just change channel

and save it.

The process can repeat, until you find the best channel for broadcasting of the signal.

This will solve your problem.

Sincerely, to you and your family, I wish all the best.

P. S.

Note: I almost forgot, router must be connected to the computer wirely

    Hello @adityarai82,

Thank you for visiting the Forums from the HP Support! The forums are a great place where you can find solutions for your problems, with the help of the community!

I read your post about the WiFi problem and wanted to help you!  I understand that you have tried the troubleshooting steps a lot already, without success.

Try to review these steps, offered by community member @Great-Christine-Tree:

First of all, we have a step by step guide to guide you through the process of diagnosis here:
Troubleshooting your wireless network and Internet access

A second option is to try the following steps:
    Powercycle the network:
    1. turn off your laptop.
    2. unplug the power to your router.
    3. disconnect the power to your modem.
    4. wait at least 45 seconds.
5 reconnect the modem and wait for it to come back online.
6 plug in the router and wait for it to come back online.
    7. turn on your laptop and test your connection.

Turn off the power to the adapter:
    1. open Device Manager. (Win Key + R > type devmgmt.msc > OK)
    2. expand the network adapters.
    3. right click on the Ethernet adapter / wireless, and then click Properties.
    4. click on the power management tab.
5 remove the check mark next to allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
    6. click on OK.
    7 test cycle.

Reset the TCP/IP settings on your PC:
    1. go to your start screen/menu and type CMD.
    2. right-click on the command prompt icon and select run as administrator.
    3. in the window that opens type "netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt" without the quotes and press ENTER.
4 restart your PC and test.

It can also help to reset the winsock catalog:
    1. go to your start screen/menu and type CMD.
    2. right-click on the command prompt icon and select run as administrator.
    3. in the window that opens type "netsh winsock reset" without the quotes, and then press ENTER.
4 restart your PC and test.

    Reinstall the NIC drivers:
    1. download the drivers from here , but do not run them again.
    2. go to your Start menu/screen and type Device Manager.
    3. expand network adapters.
    4. right click on the wireless adapter and choose uninstall.
5 install the drivers downloaded in step 1.
    6. restart your PC and test.

    Test an ethernet connection:
Explicit. Test if the problem persists on a wired connection to the adapter hardware troubleshooting wireless can be directed to the appropriate areas.

    Test another connection:
Many people excluded their home network as a problem if another device working on the same network. Networking is not as simple as that. Each device interacts differently with your router or modem and it is impossible to exclude the settings for this device until the laptop has been tested on another network.

If these steps do not resolve the problem, try this document published by Microsoft for network management issues: wired and wireless network problems. You can change the operating system with the drop-down list in the upper right of the document.

  • On Satellite L750/0 wireless connectivity issues s 5

    I own a laptop L750/0 s 5.

I seem to have a problem with my wireless connection, where anywhere not at 10 m from the router the connection cuts in and out with the yellow sign 'limited connectivity' always appears. disconnect and reconnect solves the problem for a few minutes. Ive resorted to the close session of the router.

the computer is 2 months old, the Wlan driver is up-to-date. power options have been configured to be on maximum performance for Wlan etc etc.

The main thing that annoys me, it's all the others (much older laptops) in our House very much work where mine doesn't. I actually lost performance from where I can get my old toshiba portege m300 to this new wireless signals.

In terms of information, the computer is running windows 7. Wireless network card is Atheros AR9002WB-1NG.

If theres any other information that you need, as im sure there will be, I would like to know and ill try my best.

    The router is really new.

    Thanks for your help

    > the computer is 2 months old, the Wlan driver is up-to-date. power options have been configured to be on maximum performance for Wlan etc etc.

The latest Wlan drivers can be found here:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/WLAN/?page=downloads

Please keep in mind that you use the latest driver v9.2.0.419.0

To be honest, I had the same idea to disable the power save for Wlan and it more often it should work are you sure that you have changed this in the same power station that is used when the laptop is running on battery power?

However, it would be interesting to know if the Satellite L750 uses the same Wlan 802.11 standard, as do other portable
In the Device Manager-> properties-> Advanced tab Wlan card, you can choose the standard Wlan 802.11

  • BlackBerry Z10 z10 Wireless Connection issue

A minor quirk I noticed with my z10 in recent months - when I have both Wifi and cellular radio links on home wireless connections sometimes seem to struggle (in particular applications such as Facebook, Twitter, PGA Tour).  If I disable WiFi then answer is very good - I'm on LTE of Rogers: is it possible WiFi and LTE conflicted sporadically somehow?  Our iPhone doesn't seem to have this problem, but it's a non iPhone 4S LTE.

Just installed the latest patch of OS but no change to the present

    I recommend you:

    • Delete the WiFi profile saved on your Z10 (Settinggs > network connections > WiFi > find your connection and open it and choose the trash below to remove.)
    • Restart the Z10 (hold the top power button down a few seconds > restart at the bottom right)
    • Then set up your WiFi connection even once again.

  • 7520 HP loses the wireless connection. What can I do?

I've seen lots of talk about HP products, loss of wireless connection.  I have the same problem with my 7520.  Initial Setup is perfect, but he began to lose the connection when it went into standby mode.  Someone at - it a solution?

    THERE IS A FAST SOLUTION!
On April 18, 2014 (page 11 of this thread), I posted a quick solution. My HP7520 printer has worked on Netgear router WIFI 7550 flawless since then. I suggest you read this post.
From long experience with HP, I found they have great hardware, but their software has always been dismal. The ultimate "fix" would be for HP address their failure of a software that allows to my difficulty in working.
A single "tweak" in the router security settings wifi will do. The rest of settings changes other people have suggested are short lived (about an hour in most cases), while they don't be reconnected unless they restart everything. It makes sense because of what is happening.
The single "twist" parameter should logically point HP programmers to where in the firmware, there is the problem. They listen to? And, really, it doesn't matter on all other settings printer and router. All mine are back to the default settings and it all still works very well.
Go to a BBQ and stop wasting your time on this issue.

  • Very limited wireless connection

I have a HP Pavilion dv7 - 3153ca with a 64-bit windows system 7 and I'm only able to get a wireless connection when the laptop is very close to the modem. Once the laptop is moved, for example, to another floor of the House, the connection is lost and cannot be re established until I have the back next to the modem. He has no problem with the wired connection. This has happened while he was trying to pass my McAfee security provider, although I don't think this is the problem that my other laptop (a Dell) converted without this problem. The other laptop continues to maintain its connection Wireless throughout the House, so the router and the modem is not the issue. I downloaded and re-installed the adapter without modification. I have scanned the laptop and nothing is reported in the mess. Are there any ideas as to why the wireless connection works only when the laptop remains close to the modem? Thank you.

It seems I may not have been very clear in my previous post.  I wanted to suggest was to reverse the connection of the antenna.  As mentioned in the thread I linked, the connections might have been reversed from what they should be from the factory.  If this is the case, then connect the antennas in a factory setting would not solve the problem.

Have you tried to reverse the antennas?  If they are in the deformities, then this would fix it.  If they are in the right position, then the worst you would have (only in the deformities) would drop signal strength.

  • Mac pro wi - fi connectivity issues

I have the same problem, it seems that many people have with Wi - Fi connectivity issues.  I just bought the Macbook Pro in December 2015.  My computer goes to sleep and when I open the hood it looks like I'm connected to wireless, but I'm really not!  I'm going to websites, and they won't open.  I disconnect my wi - fi and reconnect and sometimes it works, but sometimes I actually have to restart my computer.  For the moment, at the end of the day I'll stop my computer, then restart the morning I guess.  It sometimes seems to lose its connection during the day too, I guess because he falls asleep.  Very frustrated.  Just got this computer in December and have had this problem since I use the computer out of the box.  I was told it's because I haven't had my update of El Capitan, did, but it wasn't the problem.  Technical support suggested a few other things we also went through and those who did nothing either.  Don't know what the problem is or how to solve this problem, or even if I can if so many others have this problem.  I think it's a matter of Apple and the wish that they would be admitting the problem and try to find a solution.  Apple of love, but right now quite disappointed.  Quite expensive computer for issues that I am.  I went from a Dell for an Apple thinking it was the best thing since shirt pockets, hmmm...  I don't think it's any problem with our modem, wireless, router, etc., because we have other laptops, iPads, iPhones in this House and have NO problem.  So, I hope that everyone is not running out to buy new routers and modems because no doubt this is the problem at all.  PLEASE APPLE, DO SOMETHING TO FIX THIS!

Hold down the Option key while you click on the wireless icon in the menu bar. You get a screen similar to the following:

what you get for channel and mode PHY?

What CISOS or the signal strength?

    What emission rates?

very important and how many other networks do you see?

  • U940 PSU6VA satellite - wireless connectivity problems

    _ * My specifications: * _
    * Model: * Toshiba Ultrabook (Satellite PSU6VA - 00S 002 U940)
    * Operating system: * Windows 8.1 x 64 (upgrade of Windows 8 x 64)
    * Wireless adapter: * Intel Centrino Wireless - N 2200
    * Wireless adapter driver version: * 15.10.0.12 (which is the last for my device)

I got this Ultrabook since February 2013, and throughout this period, I always had problems with wireless connectivity, even after a factory reset. My wireless icon varies between three States:
    * Internet access
    * Limited (in which case I can't connect to the internet or any other device on the network)
    * Not connected - connections are available (and if I try to connect to the network, it will fail)

Sometimes my computer would instantly reach the State of "Internet access" at startup and remain in this State. Other times, it would be 'limited' for several minutes after the start of my computer before it finally connected, and even in this case, the connection will drop out every now and then. In the worst case, it would indefinitely remain "Limited" or "not connected", regardless of how many times I reset my adapter wireless or rebooted my computer.

Until very recently, I always thought that these problems have occurred randomly. However, I noticed recently that I have always a connection perfect, whenever there is no other computers connected wirelessly to my router, and I always have problems more or less when there is at least another computer (or even a smart phone) connected wireless to the router. If there is another computer connected to the router via an Ethernet cable, this causes no problems. It's only wireless connections that interfere with my computer.

It is only this computer that has these problems; the other computers in my house ever experience these issues, no matter how many computers is online. In addition, my computer is not only these problems with my home router; It has the same problems on the network wireless at my University.

My question is, how do I fix? Is this a known bug or is my defective wireless adapter? I know that I can connect using an Ethernet cable if possible (I have never problems with Ethernet connections), but this is not always possible at the University.

Did you remove the old driver Win 8 Intel of the system before you upgrade to version 8.1 to win?
The old Wlan Intel driver could affect the performance of a Wi - Fi connection.

The driver update page Win 8.1 says clearly that Intel Wlan driver must be uninstalled and the
Inbox Windows 8.1 version must be used.

    Hello

I think you have an Atheros WLan card.

Well, especially the latest Wlan driver should solve the problems
This is why I recommend updated WLan driver to the latest version.

Here you can find the drivers:

  • Resolved - problem of wireless connectivity "wlan0 link is down.

    Quick update:

    * If you encounter this message, make sure that you are trying to connect to a wireless "N".

Yes, he is in small print on the box, right, sony will not ask you this when you are troubleshooting.

    * If you rely on Sony for smart assistance, forgetabout it.

    * After the receiver a comment card and to express my disappointment, the call center outsource sent a letter... and when I called to discuss, they were still clueless.

Sorry, but the support structure is absolutely catastrophic.

We now return you to your regular programming...

    ----------------------------------------------------------------

    OK, let's go, in detail:

My Sony dashboard came again, out of the box today. It will connect to my network.

FYI: My set of skills: I am an engineer of sales network, with an extensive network of Wi - Fi and running in my house.

After connecting the dashboard and providing configuration information, the message I get is:
    __________________________________________________

    Network configuration
    Failed network connection...

    wlan0 link is down
did not get an IP address
    Internet is inaccessible
    __________________________________________________

Like others on this forum, it seems that my dashboard won't "handshake" with my wireless router.

To try to solve problems, I did the following:

(Slot 0): both my wireless router and my attempt to connect to the sony dashboard are in my home office, so the intensity of the signal should not be a problem.

    (1) check the connectivity wireless on a multitude of home devices: laptop, TV, iPhone, ipad... in short: Wireless works. Both with fixed IP and distributed DHCP address.

    (2) restart my Rosewill RNX - N4, wireless "N".

    (3) allow my SSID be visible (that I found which helped my LG TV to connect during its initial configuration)

    (4) checked my WLAN settings on my router:

    SSID: *.
    Security mode: WPA2 only: personal
    Type of encryption: AES
    Pre-shared Key: v * m

    (5) restarted the dashboard of Sony.

    (6) wireless seems to work on the sony dash, as the configuration screen of the network about dashboard States:
    ______________________________________________

    Network configuration
    Choose a wireless connection

    ..:| (my ssid is displayed)

MAC address: (my MAC address of my wireless router is displayed)
    ______________________________________________

    (7) I select my SSID (FYI: nobody else displayed) and click (next)

    (8) place comes the next screen:
    ______________________________________________
    Network configuration
Choose the key to coding (WPA2-PSK)

    HEX)
    (o) ASCII
    ______________________________________________

    I select ASCII then (Next)

    (9) he asked my key, I carefully enter (.. .slightly annoyed that the screen will not edge to allow me to see all the characters that I'm going home)..., then click on (Next)

    (10) I choose Auto IP, as during the initial setup I keep it as simple as possible... and then hit (Next)

    (11) to the top displays the following screen:
    ______________________________________________
    Network configuration
    Confirm settings

name: (my SSID) (My MAC Address)
    AUTH: WPA2PSK encryption: AES
key: (poster in my correct key, read and validated twice)
    automatic IP allocation (DHCP)
    _____________________________________________

Completely satisfied with it, I select (Next)

    (12) the sony dashboard begins its Network Configuration / connection looking for the network and then...

    (13) the following:
    __________________________________________________

    Network configuration
    Failed network connection...

    wlan0 link is down
did not get an IP address
    Internet is inaccessible
    __________________________________________________

    (14) in an attempt to solve the problems, I also tried to set up with a static IP address:

    static IP address:
    IP: 192.168.15.20
    Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
    Gateway: 192.168.15.1
    DNS1: 192.168.15.1
    DNS2: 8.8.8.8

... and the results were the same: "wlan0 link is down.

    (15) as a final step, I reset my wireless router to have no. SECURITY at ALL. Guess what? "wlan0 link is down.

At this point, I'm at a loss for what I could do "evil".

I welcome comments from other users, either to continue to solve the problem or sharing what you did to resolve your issue with connectivity.

    Thank you.

    c.

Well, here I am, a moth and a half later.

After speaking to Sony technical support...

After sending the camera back to Sony...

After having been informed by Sony that this point had problems, they need to replace parts, AND they were going to send me a new device to save time...

I get a new, and it has exactly the same features / problem.

So I try another router, same problem.

    Guess why?

Because I have my network running "N" and it's a Sony wireless B/G device.

Anyone who has mentioned in technical support... The point on the replacement due to damaged items was total BS.

If you have a network of "N", it will recognize your SSID and even to recognize the security there.

    But it does not connect.

Once I changed to a mixed G/N wireless environment, it connects.

For example, you might say my own question... should have known.

However, Sony sells a device "B/G" when almost everything comes standard "N"...

    Not cool, Sony... Not cool.

    Hello

For most Wlan issues are related to problems of compatibility between the wireless network card and the Wlan router.
Sometimes the Wlan driver allows to obtain the best performance.
So, try to update the WLan driver first. Maybe it helps.

    Good luck

  • g505s 8.1 updates & wireless connection problem

I just downloaded updates Microsoft last night and as soon as I restarted, my wireless connection was gone/missing/non-functional. I have read some other posts that made me think that the issue may be with the (Qualcomm Atheros AR956x) wireless network adapter driver, but the download or install the latest driver from Lenovo (wlan149w81) support site didn't do me good. I do not see again for a Wi - Fi connection in the center of network & sharing.

Someone at - he never saw something like this before / know what might be causing the problem?

Hi solid Cruver - thanks for the help. Looks like that the combo of what I did and what you recommended has done. Update the driver LAN first and second WLAN driver seems to have solved the problem. Thanks again.

Given that I update to windows 10 my wireless connection is slower.

Test on speedtest.net in my house, dowload speed is at best 1, 5mbps and download 2.5 Mbps (which is strange uploading faster than downloading) and at the same time my other laptop Acer becomes 7, 5mbps download and the same 2.5 Mbit/s in upload. In my house, I have a service of the internet 3G / 4G.

    Hi @miguelsoare,

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A place where you can find solutions for your problems, with the help of the community!

I stumbled upon your post on the laptop and wanted to help you! I looked in your question about your HP Pavilion Notebook g6 and issues with slow wireless speeds. Here is a link for troubleshooting wireless connection, if you need.

If the problem persists, I would change the channel on the router. Routers are able to communicate to your laptop on several different channels. Sometimes, this fixes the speeds.

Some say that it helps to fix this Microsoft Fix it.

Here is a link to help as well.

Please let me know how it goes.

    Thank you.
