• One month battery life MS Wireless 4000 mouse Mobile

  I bought this mouse a few months ago and use it daily.  I am very happy with the performance, but not with the battery life.

  I have to replace the battery every month, almost to the day.

  The mouse is mainly used with my desktop system, also in my web development work and general use.  I believe my use active 8 hours a day, but my systems are constantly lit.

  I used the new brand name alkaline batteries (Energizer, Duracell) and the last 2 months, the batteries to the Energizer Lithium, with no difference.

  It is impossible for me to turn the mouse over and out all day.

  Packaging claims up to 10 months of battery life - of course, I'm not anywhere near that.

  I have the latest intellipoint drivers and otherwise my Win 7/64 system is up to date.

  You have any ideas why I have this problem, and what I might be able to do about it?

  Have you tried to contact MS support it exchanged or replaced? How about the place you bought it? I had a few wireless mouse and all their batteries have lasted more than a month, but only lasted as long as 10 months. I have a MS Natural Wireless Laser 6000 last 6 months, almost to the day. But my Logitech V470 Bluetooth Notebook Mouse batteries last about 4 months and it stopped immediately.
  I think you have a faulty mouse, but I don't know that your merchant nor Microsoft would take my word for it :-)

  I have a model 1025 MS Standard Wireless Optical Mouse that has a flashing click function (it often does register any). It is part of a game that uses a keyboard with the same (office-puck-type computer) wireless receiver. I would only replace the mouse with all that is the closest current model (or maybe I can find a refurb or exact same model used, if need be).

  It depends on the frequency that work on the mouse and the base.  I tried to find info on your old mouse and there is nothing available.  I think would be best to simply select a new wireless mouse.  It will come with a wireless receiver dongle that you can plug into a USB port.  I think you'd have a very hard time finding a new mouse that will use the same exact frequency as the old configuration.  If you're short USB ports to plug an extra dongle you can always buy a USB hub for next to no money.   For someone else who has a problem with the IntelliMouse provided as part of the Wireless Optical Desktop Pro (which is a Wireless Intellimouse Ex plorer 2.0 is told by the way), then they may be interested to know that the Wireless Optical Mouse 5000 works very well with the dongle WODP although the pointer speed necessary to decline slightly with one I had.

• MS Wireless Mobile Mouse 4000 battery light

  I recently bought the Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 4000 and it works perfectly on Windows 7 64.

  However, there is a battery indicator light on top of the mouse that shows various indications of course for the State of the battery, but I don't seem to be able to find what they mean despite research.

  The indications are as follows;

  • No light showed,
  • Fixed green light shown.
  • Fixed red light indicated
  • Red light "pulses" shown.

  I'd be happy if someone could inforn me that each State shown by the LED indicates.

  I have the same mouse.  When the battery is good the green light for 5 seconds when the power button on the mouse is on and that he will then to no light. I'm less sure on red lights, but if memory serves, when the battery starts to get low, the red light will appear for a few seconds when the power is on and then go to no light, and I think will be paid to the red light "pulses" when dangerously low.
