• Need hard connection on the floor... EX2700 or WN3000?

  I need to provide a hard connection to my LAN and WAN for computers and NASs (top) to the main router (bottom). I got this job at a time with an Asus router configured as a 'customer '. The Asus bit the dust, and as an inexpensive alternative that I replaced it with an extension of TP-link configured as a 'hotspot'... he connects to the primary wifi and provides a hard link to the WAN... HOWEVER, it does not provide a connection to my local network because it establishes a different subnet (192.168.0.x) and configuration that is necessarily so.   Just thought that I would close this topic with having solved this problem. Amazon.ca has offered the EX2700 on sale for less than $25 (CAD!), so I thought that I had little to lose by purchasing / trying instead of the configuration. All that was needed was the Quick Setup and configuration allowed for the equipment on the floor, getting the 192.168.2.x subnet I needed. Everything works very well and the intensity of the signal through the floor was 95%. I am fine!!

  I just updated my OS (10.1.0.4181) a few days ago. Then I noticed abnormalities. First of all, my phone has become weak signal. I can't access the internet as fast as I had before the upgrade. Then, my bbm notification alert keeps lighting even if there is no incoming message. I tried to turn off bbm as part of management of the hub, but it's still lighting.

• Equium A300D - power of the weak signal on built in wireless

  I've had my Toshiba Equium A300D - 13 X for a few years now. I also have sky ADSL broadband for a few years. My signal from the router (netgear) until a couple of months has been very well. The router is located in my hall, and I use my laptop mostly in the lounge which is through a wall, 3 or 4 meters. Strength showing on the wireless icon in the tool bar used at least 4 or 5 bars but now the best I have is 3 bars force and my connection is variable with Web pages take longer to load.

  If anyone has experienced this? Could there be something wrong with the internal wireless antenna?

  Any advice would be great.

  I have 3 Apple wireless devices all. The main router is the ATV, followed of an Airport Extreme, extending the network and a former Airport Express, also the extension of the network. Briefly, it is a three-storey house, on the first floor of which is a daylight basement (windows and doors on three sides), then the second and third floor (all wood of the frame).

  I'm almost completely Mac/Apple-centric (my son except for the PC game), there are 6 Mac (PPC and Intel) and 4 iPhones on the printers network every day, matching, smart TVs and casual with a device visitors or 2. Generally, there is no connection problem apart from the complaints unfounded. There are a variety of El Capitan, Yosemite, Leopard, OS 9.2.1 and iOS operating systems. Computers are my MBP to 2008, two MacBooks circa 2010, 1 iMac (circa 2010), 1 lime iMac 400 has PPC G4 MDD and iPhones - 5s and 6s (2 of each).

  I studied this weak signal suspected by the search for possible answers on the internet, try to use various applications to diagnosis Wi - Fi and browse the various parameters of the airport. I was not able to "find" a smoking gun or even a reason suspected for the signal is so poor.   When you extend a wireless AirPort network using intermediate connections wireless base stations, it is important to understand how fundamentally. So please forgive me if I go to the places you already know.

  By default, each of your simultaneous dual band base stations provide actually two wireless networks; one on the 2.4 and the other on the 5 GHz bands. Base stations extending each of these repeat if they are in the range. Note that the higher frequency band (5 GHz) would have a harder time penetrating objects, such as walls, ceilings, etc. and it is basically only usable in the same room. I'm guessing what to do in distance between base stations, the extreme is able to expand both networks, but the Express (especially, if it is a model of generation 802.11n 1) extend one or the other.

  Wireless reception is terrible.

  At home, I can't wireless reception if I go to the floor, in a room just above the router.

  In hotels, I am unable to use their wireless unless I go and sit at the reception, or a little over the top where their router.

  Update the BIOS to 2.7 and driver version is 2015.1.427.2010.

  Usually, you can try to change some settings in Device Manager-> card WLan-> properties-> Advanced tab

  In my case (I m using Intel WiFi card) I could find a few different options. signal strength, channel, standard Wlan.
  Try to use a single standard like 802.11 B or G, try an other channels etc.

  Go to Power management and try to deactivate the energy saving for the Wan card...

The phone works but the signal is very weak. Actually, I loose signal all the time and the battery discharges quickly trying to keep the phone connected to the network.   • Unlock the phone the phone does usually not cause a problem. It's the physical limits of the phone which generally present questions or if there is an incompatibility of network about a feature.
  • The phone will have only network when 1900 is available. If you have 850 and 1900, then the phone could go on whichever is stronger.

  Hello, we have an Airport Extreme tour in our condo. The signal is that two of our rooms is low. Is there a way to increase the signal? Not Apple or any other extenders of sale of business or boosters?

  Another extreme airport would be the perfect match to extend the signal of your "main" AirPort Extreme, but an AirPort Express pourrait point be good enough for your application, if the budget is limited.

  Ideally, the second airport would be located in the middle of the area where you need more wireless signal strength and then connect to the 'main' airport using wired Ethernet wired, permanent.

  It is possible to have the second airport to extend the first using a Wi - Fi connection... IF... the second airport is where he can receive a strong signal from the first airport.  A good location is at halfway between 'primary' airport and the area that needs more wireless coverage.

  Remember that when you extend wireless like this, there is always a loss of about half of the potential wireless speed on the network, then the result will be a network with the best range, but reduces the maximum speeds.

  The more you have line of sight between the airports, the network will be operated. Or, another way of saying the same thing, is the 'extension' airport to expand the speed of the signal it receives. It can make the stronger... wireless signal but can't go faster.
