[WUSB11] + WRG45E + WRT54GS working in harmony todether

After a few days of trial and error and to play with the settings on my router and the Expander, I finally got my amplifier wireless g to work with my router and configure a suitable network key

I have a laptop that can connect to this wireless without fail through his card integrated signal after entering the password.  I'm trying to use this usb connected to connect to a desktop wireless to my network

However, before that I could use my wusb11 to connect to network with ease, but now it seems to be 'broken '.

When I try to connect using "automatically find ip / nameserver settings ' network appears as found, connects briefly, and then stops at acquiring network address, before unplugging a few moments later

I thought that I must this automatically assign an ip address, for the steps (for example, by assigning 192.168.1.9) it maintains the connection but I have no connectivity to the internet.

I remember when setting up to the top of my amplifier wireless g, I had to assing it it's own ip through the main router page (192.168.1.1) and now I'm thinking that I should do this and enter these settings on my receiver usb TCP/IP settings to make it work

Can sombody guide me through this process? Thanks in advance

Hi pmal19,

What is the Security Mode that you use on the amplifier and the router?
If you are using WPA, the WUSB11 device cannot work with it actually.

So, if this is the case, better use WEP because it is the only mode of security that can support a WUSB11.

  • Setting up Port Forwarding on router WRT54G, working with a WVC54GCA Wireless CAmers

I have the equipment in question and you need to know a few things when it come to put in place for Internet access. Before I aske the question, however, I have the following IP addresses associated with this project: WVC54GCA - 192.168.2.102, router WRT54G - 192.168.2.1, the questions are:

    1. How do you define Port Forwarding on every element.
    2. Should the two articles have static IP addresses.
    3. Once the port forwarding is set, what is the structure of the URL to access the camera?

Any help would be appreciated, summer tear my hair on it. Seems simple, but obviously not. I'm missing something.

    Thank you

For port forwarding, you will first need to set the camera to a fixed LAN IP address (static).

If your router uses the range of 192.168.2.100 thanks 192.168.2.149 DHCP servers, then 192.168.2.102 is an unauthorised fixed address.  With the Linksys routers, any fixed LAN IP address must be outside the range of the DHCP server.

Here are the rules of use of the fixed LAN IP addresses with Linksys routers.  (Note: these rules were written for the 192.168.1.x subnet.)  Since you're using the 192.168.2.x subnet, change all addresses accordingly):

With Linksys, routers, a fixed (static) IP LAN addresses must be assigned in the device that uses the address. If you need to enter the fixed address to the computer, printer or camera, not in the router.

When you use a Linksys router, any fixed LAN IP address must be outside the DHCP server rank (typically 192.168.1.100 thru 192.168.1.149), and may not end with 0, 1 and 255.

That's why any fixed LAN IP address would normally be of the order of
    192.168.1.2 thru 192.168.1.99 or
    192.168.1.150 thru 192.168.1.254
assuming that you always use the default DHCP server line.

In addition, in the computer, when you configure a static LAN IP address, you need to set the "Subnet mask" 255.255.255.0 and the 'default gateway' on 192.168.1.1 and "DNS server" to 192.168.1.1.  Note that some network devices can not use server proxy DNS at 192.168.1.1.  In this case, the value "DNS server" your real address of Internet DNS server (found in the router when connected to the Internet).

It is also important that the same value static LAN IP address no two devices on your network.

    **********************

After you gave your camera at a fixed LAN IP address, then go in "Port Redirection" in the router and configuring the ports one (or more) to the address LAN IP fixed camera.

In order to access your camera from the Internet, you will need to either:

    (1) get a fixed Internet IP address (static) address from your ISP and configure your router to use this address, or

    (2) use a free service such as DDNS.  DDNS allows you to use a dynamic Internet IP address, but can connect you by using the same URL.

    I hope this helps.

  • ASUS Infinity wifi connects to the WRT54G Router and network, but not the internet

I have a WRT54G work throughout our House. It has 4 ports for wired ethernet and multiple wireless connections works without any problem. Currently my Droid phone, Tablet iPad and 2 laptops to connect and move to the internet via a wireless connection.

Today, I bought a new Asus TF700T Infinity tablet.  I can so he can connect to the router, see the network and the router can see the Tablet Infinity (assigns an IP address), but no internet access.

I need some ideas here, or suggestions as to what tools I can use to see where the traffic of the Tablet is blocked.  The newspaper on the router shows me nothing. I guess there is a port blocked by the router, but no idea those who.

Tried reset hard and a firmware upgrade does not.  In fact the latest firmware upgrade (4.21.5) watered the entire network, so I started 4.21.1

Maybe it's not a router issue maybe that's the problem with the Tablet? Can ping you the ip address assigned to the ipad? You can also try t o assign a static settings on your tablet. If these things still do not work, you may need to contact asus support.

  • Restore the Contacts from Iphone restore

I'm very frustrated by that.  I had to do a total restore my Iphone 5 as a result of an error in the former area software and storage being gone.  I backup of the phone before doing this, but that the backup is worth nothing because to restore the previous backup would return to restore the bug in the software again.  So I basically had to a do a new restoration of the phone and gradually bring only my necessary stuff on the phone.  I can't seem to get the contacts and calendar, that I had to come back and I see on Itunes there is a place to synchronize those.  Still when I sync them they are not restored.  My contacts have some inside information, but lack of contacts.  Those who are there are missing phone # s and addresses e-mail.   I can see the calendar and contacts that they were originally on my Ipad so I know that they are at least there.  Are not the contacts and calendars supposed to migrate in Icloud and update all my Apple devices (I have a Mac Pro too) so that they are compatible?  If there are some parameters jiving not somewhere I'm lost as to what to do and what devices for all works in harmony.

My plan is to do a backup of my phone after I put everything so that I have a clean backup, that is not a bug in there and has all the correct information.

    Hello heffmonster,

Thanks for this info and choosing the communities Support from Apple. I know how important getting your contacts on your iPhone is to you! From what you said, it seems you maybe problems with having the correct accounts added to your iPhone after you restored, since you mentioned that the lack of contacts are on your iPad. You asked if iCloud syncs contacts, and he does, but only those in iCloud. iCloud will not synchronize contacts that are related to other accounts, such as Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, etc. I check what are the accounts on your iPad and make sure your iPhone has the same ones added correctly. This article can help explain more about the use of Contacts on your iPhone:

You can use a few 'occurrences', 'Notifier', or "Rendesvouz" to synchronize your loops.

Or use timed while loops - they can work in harmony...

where can I find the drivers for my epson printer so I can install it?

    Hey vivi,.

Try here to get started: http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes&oid=87588&infoType=Overview.  If she doesn't have one for your operating system, then what version of Windows do you use (e.g., 32-bit Vista Business SP2 or other - to be specific).  Also, how it is connected to the computer (directly through LPT1 cable, USB cable, wireless, bluetooth, network, and if so, what is the operating system of the computer to which it is connected)?

Also, if I read the download section of the correctiy link above, it is more than just the drivers.  It seems you also need software and firmware may be even so, depending on your operating system (and if you update one, you must update all because they often work in harmony with each other).  There is probably also a specific installation procedure (depending on what you do in what order and whether or not the printer should be turned on or more likely, when it should be turned on).  Appropriate manuals can be found here: http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes&infoType=Doc&oid=87588&prodoid=63070161&category=Products.

  • HP Pavilion DV7 6b78us: Ram already, improved problem maybe?

My computer works flawlessly can do more things without being slow and software works like a breeze, but before I had 6 GB of ram it was 90 to 95 percent, but now that I have 16GB I taught he would stay to 5 or 6 GB of ram im acually using 8 GB of ram without the software , I use, tahts 50%. I opened resourse screen to try to find out why so many used... idk if I should me worried, but I saw him gradually replace 4 GB to 8 GB. When I had 6 GB, it would remain to 4 GB which was the avarage laptop use without the software. Do you have any idea what's going on. the ram I got is perfect to unload for my laptop, everything works in harmony.

If you have only 6 GB and the system tries to use 8 you will hit 'swap' which is used as a hard drive memory (and slows the system down much) and you can never get back 8 or 10 or whatever. Sometimes he uses very little, so the average should be less than 6... i. e 4. Now you have 16 so if she needs to 8, 10, 12, he can use it and the average will be higher. This proves that you need more than 6 GB.

  • Weird freeze/crash on desktop HP Pavilion a6500f - everyone seen elsewhere?

Before I open this thread, let me tell you a little of myself in terms of my training.

I am a service technician with a small org non-profit based in Seattle, WA.  My mandate he gave me six years of experience in the field with many brands and models of machines whose age varies between 2 and 7 years and beyond, so I think I know what I'm talking about, if there are doubts about my expertise.

Most of the time, we get calls from malware mundane boredom of our customers, but on rare occasions, a cost-of-the-store model crosses our proverbial office with some out-of-this-world difficulties.  What follows is one of those strange cases:

A customer entered the week last of the local Community College with a desktop computer a6500f flag off-warranty purchased from a local Best Buy at the beginning of ' 09. The machine would be start-up and test OK, but he has categorically refused to boot the OS (Vista) without BSOD or simply lock up, three months after the expiration of the warranty. Before that she brought to us, she paid a visit to Geek Squad.  Some tech he spent diagnosing the problem, but couldn't get a handle on it and thus eventually throw the bewildered woman at their dirty dogs, which suggests that she get a new PC altogether.  My God, how awful!  (And I already hated Best Buy for different reasons, but that's for another time.)  I don't know exactly how she got wind of us, although it could have been through staff of college classmates.  Needless to say, we took the system.

A couple of our volunteers tested the a6500f Monday and confirmed his diagnosis - frozen!  The boys are perplexed.  They tinker with it a bit, but always come back upward with the same problems of gel.  We can't go any further.

I reported on Tuesday, after taking out a sense of under-time, and I've tried a few things.  Always locked.  A ran the F9 diagnostics on the thing shortly after, then tell me that there is a RAM problem.  Interesting.  I haven't ripped a DIMM - no change.  I went from banks - nada.  Tried the same tactic of switch with the other DIMM - niet. I ran a test utility of third with the two DIMM memory in (4 GB total) that subsequently find mistakes in two DIMM modules.  This brings me to a conclusion: replace all the RAM.  We had a DDR2 memory to spare, so I asked the Manager with what we had.  Although we couldn't find everything sticks of 2 GB, we had more than enough DIMMs to make a pair of 1 GB that would allow the unit to run. Never mind that they were slow (533 MHz) AND another brand.  As long as they worked...

So, we installed a pair and started the a6500f with 1 GB.  Eureka!  Vista began as if unharmed and ran for a day and a half while I updated the kernel of the system and other pieces.  Meanwhile, I call HP and declare my findings, while the Manager shuts down for RAM costs - another kit of 4 GB to be exact, and it is clocked at what we think it's the correct speed of 800 MHz (it was the same as the original of the RAM).  It is Kingston brand.  It'll work.  Or so we thought this morning when the Manager brought through.  After a few tasks more, I have install the new thing.  Three hours later... oh shit!  Relapse full!  We are SO screwed!

Then I get the idea that this RAM high speed may not be a good match for the system.  In order to exclude the original RAM was 'bad', I had it installed on a Dell machine, which is known to be able to recognize up to 8 GB.  I ran across the same test as was done on the a6500f.  The set of 5 (4 + 1 pairs) Go past on the Dell.  We then install 2 GB of Dell (he had a total/3 GB in 2 + 1 pairs) in the a6500f.  It's 667 MHz RAM, which once again makes the machine stable.  I am flabbergasted! Now what?  Is there something I missed? Have we really bad RAM, or is it a foul on a6500f motherboard that will not allow the 800 MHz DDR2 works well when lower speeds are OK?  We will test a kit 4 GB soon to confirm this theory.

Clues would help, because it is not in our nature to leave customers with less they came in.

And Yes, the BIOS was 5.27 upgrade.

Really quick update: solved the case and I am now able to view the complete results.

We have since then replaced the temporary 2 GB kit with two Corsair 2 GB PC2-5300 DDR2 DIMMS.  The affected a6500f worked without incident for 20 hours, and I indeed write this follow up on it.

What I think happens is as follows:

While still uncertain of whether it is a problem of CPU or motherboard, I know that the two are involved in a certain measure.  Why he even developed is confusing at best.

According to the technical basis of the Intel FSB of the Pentium Dual Core E2220 of 800 MT/s is not meant to work in harmony with the memory bus.  The original memory rated at 800 MT/s (megatransfers/second), corresponding so the FSB, he failed to Board of Directors (Napa), like two other similar kits used in place of the original.  All had the same question, either immediately or within a short time of starting.  Windows Vista was not activated and non-recoverable in such cases.  Fortunately, the data on the machine has been largely unchanged.  We know because spent two kits of low speed. This allows to operate normally.

The present package amounts to 4 GB, is NOT a matter of sizing / memory address.

In order to completely exclude the Commission or of the CPU, we need test the Napa Board with memory for Core 2 Duo AND 800 MT/s, but we do not have similar systems. or we would be willing to forward additional cost for the sake of experience.  We were lucky to have just enough resources on-site to get that we have done and put an end to this case.

So, I will mark this problem solved, but I also ask that other users with the same type of problem on similar hardware refer to this thread.

  • EA6500 Remote Desktop connection

    Very simple requirement.

    • New EA6500
    • (Win7Pro) server on local network
    • (Win8Pro) PC on LAN
    • You use Remote Desktop connection to connect PC to the server.

The old LinkSys WRT54G worked well.

Also tried searching on the web and speaking to support a few hours... Support made me play with security settings:

    • Uncheck Internet filter options
    • Add a record on the Port Range Forwarding with Port 3389 to the IP address of the server.

I have spent hours trying to make this work, but no luck.

I finally solved this. Problem was with the firewall on the server that I tried to remote desktop.

    • Initially, I disabled the firewall and could then remote desktop to the server.
    • Converted and then back on, tweaked (don't know exactly what I did) and it works now with the operation of the firewall.

    Thanks for the help.

  • Installation with WRT310N wireless router problem

I have currently an old model WRT54G Router installed wireless that works very well, but I need the WPS technology if I want to install a newer model WRT310N router. I used the installation cd supplied with the router, which has not seen any problem until I removed the old router and plugged in power in the new after connecting the anc ethernet cables to my cable modem. For some reason any the software wont recognize the new router so I can continue with the configuration of the installation. Since I plugged the new router in the same connections that I had had the old LInksys router connected to, I do not understand why and I can not proceed with the installation. I finally just reinstalled... connected., my old router and it works fine, but this isn't a solution for me.

It might have something to do with the sequence to connect the different cables? I also tried to use 192.168.1.1. via my browser and could up the installation screens but it wont let me install the new router so that the old one is still in place and without the old one in place, I can not access the configuration on my desktop screens.

I have my router in a closet with my... cable modem... .but the WRT54G worked fine for 2 years in the same cupboard and I also installed a Netgear N600 router as an alternative. is it installed fine until what happened to the point where he said the beach was too limited. .i guess work in the closet.  I guess I can buy a range extender to solve this problem, but I have no experience with those so im not sure if this will solve the problem. I prefer to get the Linksys WRT310N to work if possible.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Thanks for the tips on how to handle this. Fortunately, I discovered later that the Linksys router, I bought on ebay, is apparently defective and it now resides in my trash. That said, I also realized with the help of a neighbor that my Kindle works with the good old Linksys router I used for 4 years or more. My problem was to not understand how to download books on the Kindle, even though I thought I did. So the problem is moot. Sorry I got worth this site with no problem.

  • wrt610N disconnects every 6 minutes

My old WRT54G worked very well but he died. Replaced by a WRT610N. Works very well for about 6 minutes, then it disconnects from my computer first and then disconnects internet. I have to turn off and then she does it all over again. Failed to get through a help desk. Help. Suspect this is a new setting. Cannot understand it.

After about 20 min waiting on the phone, finally got through Linksys. Tech has an another 30 min with me, said that there is no firmware for the 610N updata and ultimately determined that the router is due. I returned and exchanged for a new WRT610N and Yes, works fine. Have used it for more than 12 hours straight without any disconnection so far. Also added a 3rd computer to the network wireless without any problem.

  • WRT610N question to access the data on the NAS

    Hello

Just replaced my WRT54G (works perfectly) with a WRT610N and used the same configuration to access Internet and LAN.

Upgrade to the latest Firmware for the 610N.

The WRT610N that is connected to a SD2008 (1 GB of Linksys 8 - port Switch).

SD2008 connected to a Synology DS209 + with the latest Firmware and PC XP. Access between PC and DS209 + works perfectly.

WRT610N connected to a couple of wireless devices; such as iPhone, Vista and XP PC and wired for PS3.

When you access any device (PC, PS3) through WRT610N, I see all the directories and content even as thumbs on DS209 +. Try to open or to copy one takes file (2 MB in size) incredibly long (about 3 minutes). .

Copies of Vista or XP PC wireless to DS209 + large works and same file is copied in a few seconds. Internet download works fine with good performance as well.
WRT610N with NAT enabled; Firewall disabled.

    Any suggestions or solutions?
    Thank you

    This is it.

Bought new cables - same question, MTU has changed - same question. Changing the port on WRT - BINGO.

Looks like Port 1 is defective,

I feel some time get an answer for this.

I ordered a WRT54G2 router to my network home.  We have a satellite, wired computer 1 and 2 laptops and a connection console Xbox 360 with wireless connections.  My 3 year old WRT54G worked up to lately, even if a firmware upgrade a couple of days can extend his life a little.

I read that Netmagic software comes with the WRT54G2 installation CD.  A reviewer of Amazon.ca said his network has been "hijacked" by this software, he was not happy with it.  All I want to know is: if I run the installation CD, will be Netmagic installed on my system, or is this an option that I CHOOSE in order so that it can be installed?  Same question for the security trend software.

On my old router, there is an OPTION to install the Norton firewall, which I did not choose.

So... when pop you in the installation CD WRT54G2, what do you see on the screen?  There are screenshots somewhere?

I don't want any additional software installed, I just want to the router and keep my current settings of the network and security.

Thanks in advance for the answers.

As I've seen with Network Magic Software, when you run the installation of the router software, it automatically installs the network Application of Magic. I used to recommend when I was a technical support agent has been set up the router manually through its website based GUI. But if you're not familiar with routers GUI installation, then by running the software is very good, but after all is installed, you will need to then uninstall Network Magic via-> All & Remove Programs Control Panel.

I believe that the problem has been resolved.  I am now running through my WPC600 for the last hour and a half with NO LOCK-UP.  The problem seems to have been a problem with the Linksys Wireless Monitor tool.  I tried to disable the tool Windows XP and using the tool of Linksys and still had blocking issues.  Finally, I tried to turn off the monitor configuration of the tool of Windows XP and wireless of Linksys and it works fine.  I was even able to set to 54Mbs speed to match the speed of my router.  I don't know if I can do double-band through the XP tool but at least I have operational again.
