WWM EA6500

I asked this question before, but I'm not clear how this set up for best results on this router stil.

I have Priortization OFF.

I have on WMM to establish a QoS connection.

I have the bandwidth downstream, a value of 0.

I don't know what this parameter must be an internet connection of 25Mbps.

Linksys said there is an AUTOMATIC setting, but not for this router.

Comments?

WMM is WiFi QoS, connection side LAN not. Most of the time, it must be enabled for WiFi devices are properly managed on the basis and work well with the traffic. Some devices may not work well with it, so you'll need to test every device with it to see if you notice an anythign. Yes, WMM must be enabled to support single-mode N.

I think WWM must be fashionable get N works correctly. Haven't tried it, but this is how mine is set.

Hi, testedone. Linksys AC1200 antennas boost Wireless Range Extender, RE6700 are not High Gain. You can check this link for more information.

  • EA6500 will not send/receive the cell text and multimedia

I just took an EA6500 on clearance.  It works very well for all applications except text messaging.  I can send and receive texts and multimedia on all other WiFi connections I use, but it does not work on my EA6500.  Is this standard, or is there a place I can change the settings?

We are with US Cellular by using an old Samsung (not sure of the model), two S7s and an iPhone 6 (more or sPlus... not sure), more on WiFi an old M bike, only.

Thanks for any help on this.

Cell phones use the cell signal from the phone to the normative texts and the data connection of the phone for multimedia content.  None of this happens on WiFi.  It does not work on all other WiFi connections, you are confused.  Text works when you have cellular signal and the works of content media when you have a valid data connection.  Maybe it would help if there is an application that transmits over the internet, then on mobile networks, but not using the original text/sms on the phone app.

  • EA6500 - Canon sx510HS - connects, then disk - camera cannot see the network

Ok. Previously, I had a Netgear WNDR3300 and the device connected to the G network without problem and is remained connected. When I use the EA6500.

First of all, I see the network 2.4 comments when I search a network on the camera. I don't see the 2.4 or 5 ghz network. WPS will not find the camera and vice versa. Even if I try the PIN issued by the camera.

Secondly, when I manually add the camera to the network and enter the password, it connects for about 15 seconds then disconnects.

In the third place. When you use the option 'synchronize', the networks are not yet seen by the camera, but the camera connects to the network that I added manually, as in question 2, and stay tuned for a long time, however, it is necessary for the sync/copy all the new images in a folder on my pc.

So I'm puzzled as to why the camera connected so easily with the netgear and this Linksys EA6500 he will not keep the connection. any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

    Hi mtbmesa,

How far is the camera of your router? Outside the camera you have other wireless devices that connects very well with the router? What is the brand of the camera?

    Try these settings:

SSID: must be different for 2.4 GHZ and 5 GHz

    Network mode: mixed

    Security mode: WPA2/WPA mixed personal

    Channel width: 20 MHz

    Channel: 3, 6 or 9

I would like to know if it works.

But - no default password are anywhere in the box.

Tried only "password", but does not work

Why is he asking a password at this time when none is given?

N ° keep this invoice.  So you hard reset the router, connected wire to one of the LAN on your PC, no other device ports.  Hard reset... • How to activate 802.11ac on EA6500

Bought an EA6500 last year and have now a laptop with an 802.11ac wireless card inside. At work, my laptop shows it's connected ac 802.11.   At home on the EA6500 I can't it connect with ac 802.11.

What should I look for?  I don't see any 802.11ac specific settings anywhere.

    Kevin

    Problem solved,

A setting of the router under wireless menu and 5 GHz referencing.

    Network mode: has two options.

Mixed, N only, CA only.   It has been set to N only.

I changed it to joint and my Mac Book pro now connects at the 802.11ac network.

On a Mac you can hold down the 'alt' key and click on the wireless icon and it will show you the stats of current connection.

    shows currently PHY Mode: 80211.ac

Now off the coast to test 5 GHz coverage and penetration in my house.

  • EA6500 Down/Up really poor, speeds wireless.

I just got my EA6500 router before the holidays and set up before going on holiday, I can't be sure wireless never worked at full speed, due to the lack of trials. As it is now my office (connected to router) gets d/u speed up about 16 to 20 Mbit/s down and 1 to 2 Mbit/s, that's pretty standard in my old router and to the beach for what I pay the MRC in Massachusetts for. When I connect my wife's Mac and my laptop for the wireless that go down in the range of 1 to 2 Mbps and 2 Mbps up 1, what gives? Is there something more, what should I do to configure the system? I have troubleshooted my laptop first and stopped after I checked what happens on other devices. Signal seems to be strong to just router bandwidth speeds are in the box. Any help will be greatly appreciated, thank you in advance.

    -Chris

That's the thing, to 2.4 ghz defined a 20 mhz only on channel 9 times 802.11n devices: mac and pc lappy reaches speeds similar to cable speeds. I will consider this question from a support point of view. Thank you.

  • EA6500 BECOMES SLOW INTERNET

After you have installed the EA6500 router, my internet has become slow. I have connected my PC to the router by ethernet cable and I disconnected all of the Wi - Fi device and measured 8, 75 MB. So I connected the modem cable directly on the PC (no router) and measured 17, 8 MB. Why the EA6500 goes down fast? Could someone help me? Note: my firmware is 1.1.28.146856.

It's more than likely the solution. Download and upload in media prioritization parameters settings limit the speed of networks together values they are willing to, then in the case of several devices try to access the internet, priority devices have priority over other devices.

To work around the limitation of speed, you can set two values '0' to indicate the router to not limit the maximum download & upload, or find your maximum speed of connections and input the correct values. I say you understand because that due to various circumstances, that your internet connection is perhaps not able to realize what your internet plan, or it may exceed what it is supposed to be like mine don't. You can of course just go with what it is supposed to be so, nothing wrong with that.

Edit: If I remember correctly, the reason that this, he must keep the coherent connection and, with the known maximum rates, the router can better determine exactly how to limit devices non-priority when there is to do.

  • EA6500, four Xbox 360, four WUMC710, firmware updated to 1.1.28.147876, now broken.

I have not found this question in the forum, and I really hope that someone can help you.

    Basic wireless - EA6500 router.

Four Xbox 360, all connected by its own WUMC710.

Media servers (Serviio, UPNP/DLNA) on Windows 7 and Windows Server Essentials 2012.

I've been running the same config for about a year without problem - everything worked fine.  Then I got a notification of the last week of December on the router that a new firmware is available, 1.1.28.147876, which oddly enough seems to have been available for months?

So I downloaded the firmware, and at the same time, I've updated all four WUMC710 firmware 1.0 to 1.0.01.  All devices were then able to roll.

Now, when I turn on any of the Xbox 360, it is not to connect to XBox Live, or if it does it still does not see the PC on the network. If I wait a minute or more, they * may * begin to appear in the list and I can connect to one of them.  In the contrary case, it requires a series of restarts WUMC710 or Xbox, or by using the 'Test Network Configuration"to make it work.  It's very frustrating!  The PC just used appear instantly and everything worked, even on all four Xbox at the same time.

In the same vein, I used to be able to "Test Network Configuration" very well, but now, while he always ends successfully, it always up to the top of this warning message on strict or moderate NAT.  I don't care NAT I'm no game, just streaming media, but this message never used to pop up.

I've assigned each Xbox and WUMC710 a different static IP in the DHCP pool, and I used reservations DHCP on the EA6500 for a long time to keep the problem of "multiple devices under a single IP address" does not happen.

NAT is on and UPNP is enabled.  There is no port forwarding or trigger because I don't have to go to Xbox Live, just the PCs within the home.

If anyone has any ideas, I'd love to hear from them and I thank very you much in advance for your comments.

Is not good, you will need to restore your firmware if possible.

  • EA6500: What changes or improvements of the new Firmware offer?

I just connected to two of my three routers EA6500 and noticed that they have new firmware: 1.1.29.162351. This new version gives anything of note... or... did some minor changes?

  • iPhone does not connect to EA6500 2.4 GHz

I put it up as Capri (2.4 GHz) and CapriHD (5 GHz). CapriHD has been provided only for HD video traffic. IPhone 4S my wife can only use 2.4 GHz, and he left suddenly after 1-2 months of use. My iphone 5 may use either the band and it can connect only on 5 GHz.  This problem COULD correspond to the recent update of the firmware?  So I traveled a lot around this time can not be sure that it is a culprit.

Really thought that the problem was the material, so I replaced it with a new EA6500 and get the same result.

I suspect that the problem could be environmental. Maybe the neighbor something interfering, but I don't you assignment of channel info as we did in the past with older routers, so don't know how to go about trying other things here.

I found that, by limiting the width and assigning hard channel 11 that our iPhones can now connect 2.4 GHz.  Apparently, something installed neighbors again, and the function of channel AUTO assign the router cannot resolve this conflict.

  • EA6500 - devices get weird IPs and DNS servers

    Hi all

I have just installed, updated firmware, but even if many problems have arisen, let me please you the list of people:

    (1) cable devices get weird IPs, the printer for instange to 10.168.122.100 always, it happens THAT the devices wired; the QNAP server had once 192.168.100.100, when it happens that of course devices do not appear on the network.
    My understanding is that all devices, related or not, must get the IPs between 192.168.1.100 and 155, it is the default value for the same router;

    (2) my laptop when telegraphed Gets an appropriate IP (192.168.1.xxxx), but STILL Gets a number of strange DNS, 10.168.122.1 server, and the Internet becomes unstable. It only happens in wireframe, when in the wireless, it gets the number of server DNS the same number of IP from the router (192.168.1.1), and the wifi works perfectly. Why get this strange DNS server number in wireframe only?

    (3) my phone VOIP Comwave gets no IP address at all, I tried everything (disconnect, repluigging each device in waiting 5 minutes etc.), nothing worked. She always returns 0.0.0.0

    (4) I tried both Open DNS numbers, and also numbers of DNS of Norton, as well to go through them but IP of the router always appear as a third option.

Please, does anyone know what is happening?

    Thank you very much

    Mongao

    Hello world

Thank you for helping; in fact, I think that I understand the question... I'm the one to blame!

I had connected the LAN terminal VOIP to the router, not the correct terminal WAN; so I think that VOIP box polluted network transmission inside the weird IP numbers; shame on me

    I quickly tested last night and it seems that it works properly now;

    I do not have the issue of the third DNS number (the same as IP routers) appearing in all my devices, even after turning the pair of numbers to OpenDNS in the EA6500;

    Thank you very much

  • Double configuration band EA6500 with network gateway

I recently bought the EA6500 to replace an old router. I went through the Setup process and were able to connect all the currencies I wanted to-PC, printers, televisions, games, phones and tablets. They have all see and connect to the INternet through the router. My problem - they do not see each other. When I pull the network on my PC it sees only the router and the Internet. When I look at the list of devices on the Smart Wi - Fi, all devices are there. My ISP is Cox Cable, my laptops are a Lenovo on Windows 7 and an ASUS on Windows 10.

Should what settings I change my PC sees the printer?

    Thanks for your help.

By chance the guest network is enabled? If yes maybe printers connected to it. Disable the network of comments and see if printers turn off linr. Or look at the printers and see if they are on the same subnet. All on the same network should be with an ip of 192.168.1.x address only the last set of numbers must be different.

  • EA6500 requires a reset factory to maintain high transfer speeds

    I bought an EA6500 (AC1750) and a WUMC710 (AC1300) media connector and I an 300mbps home internet connection.

If I power cycle the router, my speed checks down to 5 Mbps.  If I do a factory reset, they jump to 300mbps.

The AC1300 loses the connection to the router every 2-3 days and needs to be re-sync'd and a times a week the router loses its internet connection and must be restarted, which means I have to do a factory reset.

I read on the 5 GHz being somewhat flakey, which may explain the AC1300 fall, which is terrible for something that is supposed to be "always on".  Anyone who has experience of the need to continually factory reset their router?

This could be a problem with the router from the wired connection is also having a problem. A simple update and the reset should be able to solve this problem. If in the case that you've done these things, then his return (and replace), the router should be a viable option.
