X100E clean installation of Windows 7

I got a X100E nearly a year ago and have never been happy with all software additional "junk" that came pre-installed with it.  Of course, there are a few useful elements, but as many professional users, largely, I would prefer a new installation of Windows so I could install programs I've found work well experience.

I currently have a problem which will require the relocation of this send me Lenovo CD and it would be the perfect time to get the installation clean I need.  The problem is, it is an image for the entire disk that will leave the machine in the State in which it has delivered initially including all the unwanted bloatware.

It is not really possible to uninstall all the unwanted stuff - I tried this several times quickly after getting the machine and had serious problems.  All the stuff is installable and even the elements which should I uninstall do not correctly.  After putting both of the factory, two or three, I dropped.

How can I get the new facility, that I'm looking for?  I can see in the pages of support that is not an unusual requirement and all the extras are available for download and installation if necessary so where can find details of how to do a clean install?

    Hello

"do a custom (clean) installation for windows 7 home premium.

You say you want to install Windows 7, NOT Vista.

It is a better idea if you buy you the Windows 7 DVD and then install it from the media.

You then save model the work of making a Bootable DVD from the download and you also then have a reliable way to reinstall Windows 7 and repair work on this, if you have the need to.

Before purchasing Windows 7, make sure that your hardware and software will work properly with him.

Take some time and these checks:

Go to your computer / computer laptop manufacturer Web site and see if Windows 7 drivers are available for your make and model computer / laptop.

If this is not available, Windows 7 will not properly work for you.

Run the "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor.

  • How can I perform a clean installation of Windows 7 HP-recovery?

    Hello

I recently bought a Pavilion DV7-6150eo opportunity, and it came with a clean install of Windows 7. In order to get the correct drivers, and system tools, I would install the Windows HP-image, if possible. Where can I find it on the computer, if possible? Or I have a HP recovery kit sent me physically?

If not this, then what drivers should I make sure to get from HP.com section 'Support & drivers '?

    Thank you

    Sebons.

    Hello

Installation of HP discs are validated by reading a "tattoo" on the bios, so the media since another laptop will not be installed.

The easiest option would be to order a set of recovery discs using the link below - replacement cost vary depending where in the world you live, but they are generally inexpensive...

    Order HP recovery disks.

If you have a problem with this link, order them directly from HP.

If you live in the United States, contact HP here.

If you are in another part of the world, begin here.

If you just want to keep the current installation, you must really check in Device Manager to see if anything is missing or has an error icon you can see that all the necessary drivers are already installed.

    Kind regards

  • can I save files with easy transfer before you perform a clean installation of Windows 7 on the same PC?

I have an era of BIOS in Windows 7 and have to restart from the installation disc.  I want to save my files before doing a clean install to remove my problem then re - install my files after the slate.  Can I use Windows easy transfer to save the files, even on a partition on the drive C: then do 'clean' installation and subsequently transferring my files stored in Windows 7 on another partition, same computer?

I could live in a dream world...
    Thank you
    Sam

Yes, but it is strongly recommended to use an external storage for backup device.

  • Help the clean installation of Windows 7 Pro and using the GPO to run automatic updates and restart all night

I am trying to solve a problem that will probably require a new installation of Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. The grace period ends in 3 days, and the next 30 days are final exams at the College. I have 2 licenses (and product key) of Windows 7 Pro, but my drive HARD goes wrong and I don't want to use MAK activation. I will be eventually to replace the disk, but is now bad timing.

If a reinstall is needed, I was going to ask if anyone knows how to set the strategy of perhaps a GPO where Windows is updated automatically in the background and after installing updates, 45 or 60 minutes, then restart. The goal would be to have a computer fully patched when I wake up in the morning.

    This is my plan:

Install Windows 7 Pro SP1 64 bit > Windows automatically updated and plug the Ethernet cable > define a GPO where the computer waiting for 45 to 60 minutes after installation of updates (so the msi may end in the background, and I do not interrupt the installation) > the PC will restart > more update swill be downloaded and installed > wait due to the policy of GPO before reboot > Reboot > do it until it's over. > wake up with a PC fully patched 7-9 hours later.

Is this a workable plan?, and if so, how do I define policies such as delay restarting, etc. to achieve?

The reset did not work. It would be a simple solution. I have a valid license, but I don't want to replace the HARD drive until after final exams are over, so I'll reinstall and activate. I try to achieve in the next 24 hours, so it doesn't keep me from my school work.  I must also support and will then replace my files.

Feel free to advanced used terminology. I have some experience.

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

Another question: should I install a security suite before all updates being installed more than 12 hours, or wait until later? What is the level of risk?

Anyone used Ninite to automate the installation of other programs? Is how safe it?

    Thank you!

  • Difference between the reset and clean installation of Windows 8

Original title: reset or clean install

    Hello!

I understand the difference between refreshing and resetting windows 8. But what is the difference between the volume where Windows 8 is formatting, then reinstall it and a reset?

    Hello

The difference between updating and resetting of Windows 8 is quite simple.

Reset completely reinstalls Windows 8 and saved nothing. Think of it as essentially formatting the drive and do a clean install.

Updating done a clean install of Windows 8, but it copies your Metro applications, personal files, etc., in a temporary location that will be added later to the new facility.

If you choose the reset option, you will be asked if you want to delete your files or clean the disc. You him more often always choose "delete my files" rather than "clean up disk" as the second option is more for when you sell your computer to someone else.

    Kind regards

How would do this, because I wonder to execute a procedure of the 4 step (see arrow above).
    Would appreciate suggestions and help.
    Thank you
    MT

    Hello mt4448,

MSDN software are downloaded as ISO files (finally they do when I download them). The ISO must be burned on a DVD and then it is simply a case of starting your PC, insert the DVD into your DVD drive and then restarting the PC again. You do not want to check that your DVD player is your first boot drive if the installation does not start.

Take a look at this link from my Web site: http://vistasupport.mvps.org/install_windows_vista.htm

Also visit this link to change the priority of the disc: http://xphelpandsupport.mvps.org/how_do_i_enable_cdrom_support_i.htm

If you have a modern PC 2 to 3 years already, the CD/DVD drive should be set as first boot option.

  • Cannot perform a clean installation of Windows 8

As the title suggests, every time I went through the installation, I always find myself with the old windows files and a start-up Win 8 or 'old version' option, I deleted all the partitions on the disk and selected format option (twice now) but every time that Windows 8 installation is complete I am presented with this option.  It's using a disc of Windows 8 full version, not an upgrade.

How to go beyond that or get a completely clean install?  The old version is not yet complete - is in fact an aborted XP install start-up that has been abandoned.
Edit - I also tried a reformat with Ubuntu.  The drive looked clean, but as soon as I start it up, it started in the XP installation or if you install Windows 8, it preserves and presents the two options listed above.  I do not understand how a disk partitioned/reformatted it retains these configuration/Windows system files.

You have multiple hard disks installed in the computer?

If so, disconnect all except the hard disk target where you will install Windows 8.
