• Partitioning in T500 problem

  A week ago I received the new T500. I tried to divide the drive into 3 partitions and I managed to do it with GParted LiveCD. Windows XP worked fine after that. Then I did the BIOS update with ThinkVantage System Update. After that (I'm not sure it's because of the update of the BIOS) when I boot GParted, it shows that my drive is unallocated space, but windows starts normally...

  I wouldn't bother I have not the fact that I have to install Linux on my T500 and installer can't see none of my scores...

  What can I do to make it work correctly?

  I can even wipe my drive hard if you tell me it will work 100%...

  Finally I did it! Here's how I did it: I went to the BIOS changed options SATA AHCI Mode Compatybility. Then I had lunch the installer of Windows XP - whipe on all partitions, created new partitions using Windows install. After that, I have not had any problems with Acronis Disk Director, install linux on my t500 or any other problem. I hope it helps someone.

• Distortion of sound on T500 problems

  Hi all

  I had my T500 now for about 3 months and you have problems with the sound and crackling distortion. It is not obvious when you play, but loading Youtube videos, it is particularly evident. Maybe something to do with interference with the network card, I'm not sure.
  I've read that it could be a problem with the Intel ICH9M-E/M SATA AHCI controller, but I can't find the link again.
  Any suggestions before I have calling technical support?

  I just thought that Id mention a solution to the problem. Lenovo has recently updated the IDE ATA/ATAPI driver for Intel ICH9M/E/M SATA AHCI controller driver. This seems to solve this problem as a stuttering problem I had with my mouse I have ensure that was due to Razer drivers not Lenovo.

• Resolution graphics ATI T500 problems

  I'm having a problem with the graphic part my switchable graphics ATI in my T500. I am using an external monitor and when I use the integrated graphics card intel 'energy saver' the monitor has no display what is on my laptop screen, and it can go to whatever resolution that my monitor is capable of. However, when I go to the ATI card it can go up to 1440 x 900 max resolution. In addition, the monitor only receive a signal when the laptop screen is open, and the laptop does not show anything. On the other hand, when the Intel card using my monitor displays even when the screen of the laptop is closed. When I try to open the Catalyst Control Center, I get the following error:

  I use drivers that are available on the Lenovo support driver download page, I think the version is 8.752.4.0. I use this monitor for a long time with the previous version of the driver and it worked fine.   I think you should both try to turn it off or put it to maximum performance.

  If the won´t of the situation changes, the last procedure would be a restoration of the system to a previous state of vista.

  If it s a vista update problem, google search gives some tips for updates vista and ati performance;

  Bought 3040 OptiPlex with Windows 7 downgrade install factory.  Now you want to install Windows 10 provided Dell OEM DVD.

  but none of them does not work.

  After you change the BIOS settings and re-booting, I get a Dell SupportAssist screen with a white cross within a red circle and the only option is a stop button.

  Have now resolved myself.

  I had done a backup copy the Dell supplied DVD - we always do when we only have a physical copy of media they get so easily damaged and unreadable.  I was using the copy to install.

  It suddenly occurred to me if Dell had set up a sort of preventive mechanism using copied the DVD for installation.  I returned to the DVD original and it worked.

  The fact that the copy does not crash with any kind of error but just given a screen with a closing button makes me think that it is a deliberate by Dell.  Anyone know if this is true?

  Hi everyone, I need your help guys.
  I just bought my new Satellite C55-A-1R8, computer PSCJEE laptop with windows that I hate windows preinstalled to 8.1 and intel cpu onboard, but because n3520 8 I decided to downgrade to the thought of 64-bit windows 7 I'll find all the drivers, but the problem is that there is no driver win 7 for this model of support and I think that I already tried all the others without success.
  My usb ports does not work and I can't find the drivers, windows cannot do either.

  My missing drivers:

  Enthernet controller
  PCI encryption/decryption controller
  USB universal serial bus controller
  unknown device (properties said on processor Intel (r) Pentium (r) N and J-series / processor Intel (r) Celeron (r) N - and)

  also my bluetooth driver seems to be ok, but I'm not able to install any software of Toshiba bluetooth for win 7.

  If somehow I could sort my usb ports would be perfect.

  Guys you have ideas where good drivers?

  At first, I must say Hat I just hope that you have created recovery DVD or USB until you started with OS downgrade. Problem is that now after the new operating system installation you will not be able to start the installation of HARD drive recovery image and one day if you want to have the factory settings you can have a big problem.

  In any case, I m wondering really you have installed before Win7, check if this older OS is supported or not. You can try now is to install the Win7 drivers available for other models of laptops.
  Try please install follow rivers:
  Chipset Intel HM70 River (should help with USB ports)
  I put t know for sure if this wll help but try to install please follow drivers LAN and BT:
  Atheros LAN driver LAN
  Driver package Bluetooth Filter filter BT
  Bluetooth stack

  I read your post about wanting to downgrade your PC Win10 of Win8 and wanted to help.

  It's actually a bad idea.  Why? Unfortunately, there is no HP Win8x driver for your device.
  
  Although there are HP Win7 drivers, they most likely won't work on new materials of Win10 supplied with your PC.
  
  If you do the downgrade, the problem you'll face is that Microsoft provides only pilots to the more basic features, and what you really need for these features in laptops is the specialized drivers written for the specific material found in laptops. Without the HP drivers, some features are likely to not work, or if it works, don't not to work properly.
  
  You can try to use Windows updates to find the drivers from Microsoft deposits for your device: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03330139

• Noob shopping 4 base unit, need DVD eSata + gigabit Enet, HDD

  I'm a bit overwhelmed by all the choices here, hoping that some here may be so familiar with the range of products, they will be able to point me in the right direction.

  First of all that I have not a lot of money, do not have more recent need and bells and whistles, things like sustainability, reliability and independence are more important.

  That said I want a Haswell, ideally 'ultra' processor but the fine of i5 and I wish I could go to 12 + GB of RAM later if possible. Prefer the integrated graphics card.

  No doubt NEED DVD burner eSata and gigabit ethernet.

  Rather than SSDS, ideally of 7200 RPM HARD drive.

  I guess even if it comes with the W8 I'll be able to downgrade (driver problems, not a license issue) for W7. And the compatibility of Linux, so an older model is perhaps better than the most recent.

  In fact, I would LOVE to find a unit used on eBay, if it will save more than a few hundred...

  T420, T520 + E520 are all Sandy Bridge, T430u + T430 T530 E530 all Ivy Bridge.

  If you need a machine with optical drive, 12 + GB ram with Haswell. Then, E540, T440p or T540/p are your only choice.
