XP SP3 reboot randomly

I had an XP without problem for more than a year, but all of a sudden the thing begins to randomly restart. It is not due to a virus (I hope). in fact I do not have an Internet connection and use my laptop (Win7) to this type until. At any time, while I am playing a game, type, or even just sitting there, the computer will restart randomly for no apparent reason and not not not because of overheating, or the other. I play frequently games that require a high degree of processing power and have the fan on full blast, and I've never had any problems. Never. I tried to defrag, since it had to be one of those anyway, but that did nothing.

I have my XP, a Dell Optiplex G280, which has Service Pack 3 but very few updates since then (perhaps therefore it, but still, no Internet for several months). It has 1 GB of RAM and a 2.0 GHz processor. My drive is 40 GB, separated into two partitions of 15 GB for my Windows (the result of a previous work of fix - it) and Linux with the rest. BIOS, graphics and pretty much all other drivers is fully updated (thanks to a flash drive). This configuration existed for over a year without any problems. Why, then, it fails me now?
Thank you
Q of the Jordan.

It also happens on Linux

So you know it's material.
Most of the valleys have a Partition utility, accessible by the F12 key:
Start it and report folder.

I updated my phone two days ago and since that time, randomly my phone will reboot. The apple sign appears briefly, and then it brings back me to the lock screen where I enter my code. It happens about 6 - 10 times a day, my phone is a 6s longer. Anyone had this problem?

As the title says, I'm the random reboots when I plugged into my laptop POWER supply. It works perfectly when I run the battery.

I also tried to see if it could restart when in the BIOS, but it seems it's OK, even if I have not tried for a long time. I think that the mobo is faulty. An update of the BIOS might help?

Any ideas would be great, that I wouldn't throw the laptop because it is a little technical high enough Kit.

    Hey Buddy,

I put t know what you mean with the mobo is faulty, but to me it looks like a hardware malfunction. I mean if everything works correctly in battery mode, everything seems ok and it s not a driver or software issue because it happens on the BIOS too.

So in your case I contact nearest authorized maintainer and ask for help. Technicians can check what the problem is and fix it for you :)

It happens once a day or every two days. Sometimes while I'm working. Sometimes, when the machine is idle in the middle of the night.
    No blue screen appears.
I removed the checkbox control restart automatically to show the BSOD.
No errors in the event log.

Thank you very much for the help with this.

The most common cause for a sudden and random reboot is overheating.  The fact that this does not happen with Linux can be because Linux can operate more efficiently and the CPU is not as hot when you do what you do on Linux compared to what you do in Windows.  To confirm this, download and run the program 'CoreTemp' freeware
    CoreTemp: <> http://www.alcpu.com/CoreTemp/ >
who's going to show you how hot your CPU is running.  If shows temperature running near the hot limit, then consider opening your computer, check that all your fans are running and clean all the dust out of the CPU all about.

  • Windows SP3 reboot problem

I downloaded the SP3 and it does not give me the error messages. He told me that I had to reboot so I clicked on the restart button now. He has been on the windows loading page for more than 24 hours now. I went through all of the pages that I could find on what to do before install you and made sure everything was good before downloading. I don't know what else to do and I can not find someone on the forums who have the same problem.

    Hi KyleV,

Have you downloaded SP3 from the microsoft Web site? Were you able to install SP3? Try boot your pc in safe mode and see if the problem persists.

Could someone please let me know why the reboot is happening?

You can also drop in the newspapers of the host-d and/or information provided by a dump of support?

My suspicion is that you can have something material related current. Have you checked the hardware section of the cilent VI or the HP tools?

  • Mac reboots randomly

So I have a Macbook Pro 2014. In recent weeks, it began to freeze at random and then restart without apparent cause. I have reset the SMC and the NVRAM. I made sure everything is updated and I have removed most my programs that are known to cause problems of this kind. This does not happen with a certain program or activity. I was in the middle of watching a movie, or browse the internet or by changing an image. I was on it for hours or just for a few minutes. I use even just a word processor. I tried regularly stop and start instead of simply putting the computer to sleep when I'm finished with it, but also not to run many programs at once. I tried to change different energy saving settings that I thought it might have something to do with the screen closed due to inactivity or graphics switching. I erased all the startup programs. Even got a new charger that has been damaged and I thought it might be some malfunction in the battery charge. I did diagnostics. I tried to check free space of disk, virus/malware analysis. Nothing seems to work. He always does. Sometimes it will go days and days without doing it and sometimes it will happen two or three times a day.  I am just at my wits end with it. Everything else seems to work fine except for this random restart so I can't tell if it's a hardware problem or a software problem. I know that I didn't have this problem until after I've upgraded to El Capitan, but this could be a coincidence that I had the upgrade for several months before having a problem (except a minor issue of not being able to restart the computer Finder refused to stop, but I found a work around for this) there is now an update for Sierra , but I don't know if that would help. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

  • MacBook pro reboots randomly

If anyone can help me I would be very grateful!

For months and months now, my macbook has used to revive at random. Sometimes, he won't do much or for centuries, but other times he'll do dozens of times in a row!

Obviously, it's very frustrating because I can not any work done when you're having an of it is a few minutes (1 h).

I tried a lot of different things, the list went on and on (including tons of random things like the font book disabling and start in safe mode), things that I tried recently that have been recommended by apple are the navram reset and reset the SMC, but to no avail!

I don't really know what caused his start happening but I remember it started before my sabbatical a year ago, (that's what threw me I don't remember what I had just done, but I think it was an update or something?)

Sometimes restarts it seem really random, but this will often happen if I return a web browser and a start to scroll left or right, often when I move and often when I left my mac for a bit, then return to start working again.

It comes to my crash report, can we make any sense?

  • reboot random and battery drain

    Hello

Only two days, back... during the day that it randomly restarts every two minutes and the battery drains too quickly, I bought a new milestone.

While loading but it is not the case... and when the phone fully charged left in the mode "Eve" of the day the next day, 50% got discharged by the morning

Any ideas on how to fix? I'm based in Singapore

Try to find "mylock Auto Unlock for 2.0/2.1" in the Android Market. A facility that seems to help work around what is believed to be a bug in the screen lock code.

  • XP SP3 reboot problem

I'm trying to upgrade my XP Edition version 2002 Service Pack 2 for SP3 family.  My computer is a HP Pavilion with AMD Athlon 64 processor.  Installation seems to be okay.  No message error but when it restarts my system brings me to the screen of the Security menu.  I can get into safe mode, but don't know what to do to solve the problem.  I went through the steps online, including my program disabling antivirus is Norton 360.  I have resinstalled 3 times and get the same result.  In safe mode at the top of the screen is 'XP R Build 2600.xpsp_sp3_gdr.100216 - 1514.

I spent all day on this upgrade which I think would be simple, any help you can offer would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

Even if you have the prerequisites (HP system with a processor AMD, the upgrade to SP3), you do not seem to be affected by the usual problem (stop error). But it's worth a shot.

  • Satellite C870D - blue screen / reboot randomly

    Hi all

I recently bought a satellite c870d (uk) and the last week or so from time to time, usually when browsing the internet or do I change the window I look (for example flicking of internet explorer on the desktop) the computer to crash and bring up the blue screen of death saying your computer has encountered a problem and it says system service exception.

wondering if anyone knows how I can solve this problem?
All drivers are up-to-date of which I'm aware, but im tired of constantly losing my job now that she saves nothing before the crash

    Hello

BSOD (blue screen of death) is primarily a result of software or hardware problems.
It could be a software compatibility issue or just one of the hardware components (RAM, motherboard) could be faulty.

I found some info on the BSOD * BCCode: 3B *.

    + Bug Check 0x3B: SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION +.
    + Bug SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION control has a value of 0x0000003B. +
+ Which indicates that an exception happened during execution of a routine that passes from non-preferred to the privileged code code. +

    _Cause_
+ This error has been linked to the excessive use of expanded memory and resulting from user mode graphics drivers enjambment and passing data incorrect of the kernel code. +

So, it seems that 0x3B errors are usually caused by a defective video card drivers.

  • Random error of panic

Hi a little new to this. But I just bought this mac from a friend. And a bit confused as to why it reboots randomly with a panic error. It's not very often, however.

I wiped and installed fresh 10.11.4, with no time restored machine in the it.

I've had it for a day and there were 3 panic since.

    Here is the report.

  • Computer laptop-15-ab101au Pavilion: Pavilion Notebook laptop computer restarts randomly

    Hi all

I bought my laptop in November 2015 and Harvey Norman installed the SSD to purchase, everything worked fine, then in December 2015 the computer started making reboots random while I was in the middle of using it.

I have no error message to warn me, most of the common time is so that using the internet pages via a mobile wireless modem, it never happens while I watch a film for instances.

I ran a test of the system and receive this message

    test component - failed

    Primary HARD drive Bay

I also have a failure if necessary identification number

Can anyone help that I must return to the shop or it's something that I can fix it

    Thanks Cath.

    Hey Cath,

The error code is a failed hard drive optimized - this seems to indicate that the player is running out and must be replaced.

My best advice would be to return it to the retailer or contact HP and arrange for the laptop repaired under warranty.

If you live in the United States, contact HP here.

If you are in another part of the world, begin here.

    Kind regards

  • All new iMac 5K random restarts

I'm a Mac "veteran" (since 1994) user, but the recent behavior of my iMac end 2015 27 "5 K told me at the end of my piece:

After initial installation and configuration, the iMac just started rebooting randomly during the night. (It remained always off, never sleep.)

The only "smoking gun", I could find was the following:

localhost kernel [0]: cause of previous stop:-128

I talked to AppleCare a couple of times, my case has since been pushed up on their level 2 support. So far - no solution found.

Here are the things I've tried (I think that I have...):

    • Reset the SMC
    • Reset the PRAM
    • Most threaded the LaunchAgents and LaunchDemons
    • Re-installed Mac OS X 10.11.3
    • Implemented a new white 'test' user and restarted in Mode safe
      • Even in the 'Safe' Mode, strange things happen: after the rest (as a user 'test') for a day of two, the iMac "crashes" i.e. the screen remains empty and mouse or keyboard or "Power On" button on the back of the iMac are able to wake up the machine.
      • Also in 'Safe Mode' I get these trucks:
[watchdog_daemon] @(wd_daemon_init) - could not open connection with the watchdog of the kernel

Short of "nuking & paving" the machine, has anyone got any ideas of what might help?

Or it sounds like a hardware bug?

    Any help appreciated,

    Greetings from Berlin,

Mine does exactly the same thing. Often during the night when it is idling. I only had the machine about 2 weeks.
