• Portege R830 - Trackpad/keyboard problem

  HI - hope someone can help because I have only a few strands of hair left out!

  In the last two weeks, a problem has developed with the trackpad - and maybe my keyboard. Here are some of the symptoms

  1. the cursor on the screen suddenly freezes. If I leave the laptop and work back, and it's not.

  2. If I tap on the keyboard (can simply press the keys or I could be typing in a document) and the cursor may freeze again. During this event the little 'mouse/trackpad' power icon flashes briefly on the screen. If I hit another key (literally anywhere on the keyboard) a number of times (not the model number) the icon can cycle and the slider moves and then freeze again.

  It's as if each key on the keyboard is somehow the role of the FnF9 key.

  Unfortunately I took the laptop on a business trip recently and this time after initialization the laptop - the cursor was frozen and no amount of pressure button thoughtful or random didn't get going. It is a working battery. That scared the hell out of me.

  If I plug in a USB keyboard and mouse and then pressing the keys on this keyboard does not cause the cursor to freeze. But he can do anyway - as described in 1. above.

  The F9 key will unlock the cursor (I guess re - turn on the trackpad) - but it won't be long before cycle back again.

  I did not drop the phone. There is nothing physically wrong with her. The battery holds its charge and it starts successfully. I did no change of material during the month.

  This could be a hardware problem? I read that the keyboards on R830 are quite likely to damage/stoppage of work. A the United Kingdom popular auction site has sellers who claim to have sold more than 40! That's a lot of R830s who have had new keyboards.

  I also know that a replacement is a pain, so I hope that's not it.

  Someone at - it suggestions? It makes me crazy.

  I google extensively and can't come up with anything either. There are the usual raft of people trying to find how to activate the trackpad or disable - but none seem to be struggling with the laptop made for them.

  According to the description of your problem, it seems that the touchpad is disabled automatically.
  As you have already mentioned, the touchpad can be enabled and disabled by using the FN + F9 key combination function

  I have a wireless trackpad, keyboard, and mouse connected to the iMac of 2013. Everything works fine until I upgraded to El Capitan a few weeks ago. Whenever I wake the system from standby mode, I am unable my password key using the keyboard. The keyboard no longer respond or begin typing the characters on his own.

  As the title says, my Macbook is having issues and is locking up (freezing).  I am running OS X El Capitan / Macbook Pro 13 beginning 2015 / 2.7 GHz Intel Core i5 / 8 GB of memory.   I have a Macbook Pro and I am also on the Board for a not-for-profit organization.  Intuit does not a Quickbooks nonprofit for a MAC IOS and the online version does not allow me to perform all the functions I need.  So, I need to run the version of windows on my Mac.  QuickBooks is to send me a link to install the Windows software and mentioned there's something that I can run on my MAC to be able to use a Windows based program. Is this something that is easy to do?  Can I use Boot Camp assistant and he will guide me through the process easily?  I tried discussion groups, but nothing is quite descriptive enough for me and most of the debates is a few years old.    In addition, it will eat a lot of storage on my computer?

  It started in the last 3 months, I'm not sure of that OS upgrade specifically.  I currently have Version 10.11.3.  I have a MBP late 2011.  I use a keyboard, trackpad and bluetooth magic, bought the same time as my mac.

  Hello, I have a problem starting my OS after windows updates to install. I have a laptop Dell Studio 1737 running Windows Vista SP1 x 64

After starting, it linked the part "Configuring updates step 3 of 3" 0% to 100% and then just stood there and the mouse began to blink.   What I did I tried to disable the network, modem and audio drivers. It took time, but start normally thereafter, but he made a strange (and continuous) boot process he never has ever done before.   This morning when I opened my mac, my keyboard and trackpad were insensitive. The only button that worked was the power button.   Spent an hour looking for a solution to this so I hope this isn't a problem of repetition. I am using a wired USB keyboard (DYNEX model No.: DX-WKBDSL) with my MBP end 2011, but whenever I have set and keyboard Setup Assistant appears my internal trackpad immediately stops responding and my internal keyboard sounds fair to me if I tap on a button. This keeps me from hitting continue setting. If I unplug the USB keyboard, I immediately regain control of my internal input devices. Disks hard USB and flash drives cause no problems. I need to be able to use my usb full keyboard, so I have a 10 key. Can someone help me?

  Bumping this because I really need an answer.

• Internal standby mode keyboard and Trackpad no longer work after

  Since last week, after the "sleep mode" most of the time the keyboard and trackpad not working.

  External keyboard / mouse works via USB.

  If I reboot in safe mode, reset the NVRAM / PRAM / SMC, it seems to work for awhile yet.

  Has not installed a new best software to my knowledge.

  Any ideas?

  Same thing here. I tried to reinstall OS X and it worked for awhile, but now no way to solve this problem, I even haven't tried internet recovery. The funny part is that if you press power + shift + ctrl + alt when the mac is on it will restart, so the keyboard seems to be working. I really feel that it is a software bug in the firmware. Apple please fix this once and for all!

• BootCamp + Windows 8.1 and Windows 10: trackpad and keyboard bluetooth always unsuccessful pairing

  My computer is a model of end 2011 of 13-inch MacBook Pro. I use an external 27 "monitor and bluetooth trackpad and keyboard. Until the last week of July, 2016 that I used with Windows 8 with BootCamp 5, nicely. Then I got a message that Windows 8 would be not updated for critical and security updates. I decided to upgrade to 8.1 Windows but the trackpad wireless works intermittently, and the wireless keyboard is not working at all. I get a message to pair, but the pairing is always unsuccessful. Then I upgraded to Windows 10 and the same problems with wireless keyboard and trackpad.

  Does anyone have a solution? Thank you

  You can try this. UN-pair external Apple Trackpad and keyboard on the side OSX, pair it with test first, and then pair on the side Windows OSX.
