Z50-75 freeze at startup after upgrading ram

I put a 12800 DDR3L SODIMM ram in the slot. It freezes. I tried to put the only one which was available inside. It freezes again...

After the secure boot, it worked. I hope that doesn't arise problems

  • Satellite A660 - 10 X - no boot after upgrading RAM 8 GB, but 4 GB + 2 GB only

    Hello

Today I bought two sticks of Kingston 4 GB DDR3 1066 MHz CL7 and I'm trying to replace my 2 GB ones, but something is wrong.

If I put two sticks of 4 GB laptop does not start. I have the latest version of the BIOS (1.80). I have restored the default settings after upgrade.

But it's quite strange, because if I put a strip of 4 GB and a 2 GB stick system starts and everything is fine (with memtest86 + too). But there is still one thing: 4 GB stick should be rolled in the dock before, above second, 2 GB module. If I reverse cell phone memory will not start again.

Is - everyone knows how to solve my problem? Is this a BIOS problem? BIOS version which A660 takes in charge the amount of 8 GB of RAM with no problems? I can downgrade from the BIOS, because I don't know if Toshiba help update.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

So I have upgraded RAM using 2 x 4 GB SODIMM DDR3 Corsair 1600 Mhz, after installing the PC boots but screen is white/black

    steps to follow:

    1. I tried with 1 socket by using only a RAM, screen black

    2. I tried with 2 socket using RAM only one with the same RAM step 1, screen black

    3. I tried step 1 and 2 using the other RAM, screen black

    now here it gets interesting

4 tried 1 socket using Original/factory RAM, screen black

5 tried 2 socket using Original/factory RAM, screen black

    6. tried without any RAM at all, looks like a lack of RAM, screen black

Now, to each measure adopted, I must say that the screen sound not only not showing things, but its totally black as it does at all, until the system starts normally. !

Is it Possible the upgrade of RAM affect the screen? or maybe when I was replacing the RAM I hit some conecting by cable to screen or something?

I m going to upgrade 6 GB memory on my Pavilion DM1 3250br. Although windows indicate it is 64-bit capable windows anytime update installed 32-bit (because it has less than 2 GB available).

    1. How should you proceed to upgrade to 64-bit after upgrade memory? I don't have a system disk, only the suplyed key home premium by HP.

2 HP has 64-bit for all devices drivers? They are in D: recovery drive or I´ll need to download the upgrade?

    3. any information you want to give.

    Hi, Eduardo:

    You can try it.

I know it works if you have a retail upgrade key which means that it is good for 32 or 64 bit.

I don't know an ISO file that you get off the internet is an OEM file.

If this is the case, it will not work. If this isn't the case, I doubt it will be.

I have dealt only with the installations of Windows 7 using OEM disks or retail upgrade.

Basically, the key that you use must be the same as the installation disc.

OEM disc / ISO good with the key on the bottom of your portable forest 32 or 64 OEM.

Plenty of retail disc / ISO only good with the full commercial product key, you get the box or the e-mail sent to you - 32 or 64 bit.

The retail upgrade disc / ISO only good with the retail upgrade key, you get in the box or the e-mail sent to you - 32 or 64-bit.

Upgrade Express disc / ISO only good with the upgrade retail or upgrade Express key - 32 or 64-bit if you have a disk.

I used a disk of 64 bit Vista Business anytime upgrade to upgrade Vista Home Premium 64 bit update, and I was able to use the key from Vista Business 32 bit provided with the 32-bit disk (I had a 32-bit Vista Business retail box update but they come only with discs of 32 bits at the time and you had to order a CD of) 64-bit and pay $10. You can't even not the disks in 64-bit vista to MS.

    Hope this helps,

  • Windows 7 Home Premium x 64: activation of the service Windows Update crashes my computer after upgrade RAM

A few days ago I had two sticks of 2 GB GSkill RAM by mail. Here's the same brand, model and size as the pair currently installed (obviously). (Sticks alternate according to the specifications of the card from my mother)

After you have installed the new RAM and the computer starts up, it freezes within about 30 seconds of connection. Before installing the new sticks, I had no problem whatsoever.

My first thought is that I sit the RAM properly, then I go and reinstall it. I start, and the same thing happens.

So obviously this RAM must be bad, right? When I take out news, not gel. Ah, but when I remove the OLD stuff and use new instead, I ALSO no gel. So maybe it is not the RAM.

Then I reboot in safe mode. No gel. Interesting. I opened the window 'System' and it says "memory (RAM) installed: 4.00 GB ', which is correct." I opened CPU - Z, and it reports also 4 GB of memory. I run a few hours and have no problems whatsoever. So I say to myself, there must be either a Windows service or a 3rd party service is causing the issue and not the new RAM.

I disable all services of 3rd parties and restart in normal mode. It freezes. OK, so maybe (though unlikely) I have a virus any (I say probably not because I have to) run the module additional firefox NoScript, and set to block all flash, javascript, xss, iframes, etc. - in other words, only allow to my whitelist and B) I have Windows Firewall and running McAffee and updated.). But I decided to first try Windows services for the hell of it.

So I enable only the services that start in safe mode as my reference, disabling the rest via services.msc. I start normally and not gel. Great, then maybe it is a Windows service. I start which allows one service after another without any problem. I get to the bottom of the list and select the Windows Update service. Within literally 10 seconds my computer crashes. Large.

As a validation test, I put all services back to the base line of safe mode and only allow Windows Update. I start normally, and again once it freezes.

Another test of validation, I start with all normal, but disable Windows Update. Do not freeze. I'm going to start Windows Update. Yet once, it freezes for about 10 seconds. So clearly something is in place.

As a third and final sanity check, I remove the new RAM and run a Windows Update. He finds a few optional updates, but not critical. My system is up2date.

My only attempt to solve this problem so far was to backup all Windows Update DLLs (C:\windows\system32\wu*.dll, although I don't know if these are good) and do a scan sfc to replace them with copies of 'good '. It did not work.

    So my question is:

Why cares Windows Update that I have 4 GB of memory installed?

    Thank you

    Jon

    1. I 'upgraded' from the RC of Windows 7 x 64 for Win 7 x 64 Home Premium.

    2. I use McAfee VirusScan Enterprise 8.7.0i, DAT version 6060, Scan Engine 5400.1158

    3 No.

    4. No, I put together this computer myself.

I think the USB storage is a separate issue. And.

I think I * may * have solved the problem of origin with one or more of the following (don't know who):

    • Updated the software of the chipset of the card from my mother.
    • Updated HD Windows audio drivers to the recommended ASUS (Realtek) HD audio drivers
    • Updated since Windows installed NVIDIA display drivers for version NVIDIA WHQL.
    • Increased my tRFC (refresh time of line) to 70 52 clocks clocks. Set my GSKILL DRAM voltage recommended by 2.1V. Off the SPD DRAM configuration (I read that ASUS is not entirely based on the SPD and can affect things on its own).

I had WU for 20 minutes from writing this post without a freeze, so we'll see. (Previously, it would freeze within 10 seconds of turning on WU)

  • Problem on Windows after upgrading RAM

I have 6 years, Alienware m11x R.2 running Windows 7 x 64 SP1. Since the ole ' computer is still alive and kickin. I thought I'd do a quick refresher on the RAM for an inexpensive upgrade.

I'm not an expert but to build my own PC and was demolished and rebuilt this laptop particular (among others) several times. The upgrade of RAM has always been something that requires very little attention or other planning that by ensuring that you have compatible specifications.

I upgraded the RAM this laptop came with a year after the purchase of a Kingston Hyper-X. www.newegg.com/.../Product.aspx

I remember having no problem with the installation of this RAM and it was perfectly fine since then.

A few weeks ago, I ordered the DDR3L RAM, after starting the computer difficulties, I realized the error, but also said that the RAM must remain compatible with 1.5V power outlets. But maybe it was a compatibility problem, so I returned it regularly DDR3 RAM, shown here. http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16820231582

Outside the actual size of RAM I don't see any other difference with specifications.

Here's the problem: when I install the new RAM I asked to do a startup repair. No matter if I select run repair or normally I get sent to windows startup. This repeatedly. When I re - install the old RAM is the same screen, but I'm able to start or I can choose to run the repair. (I did both.) This happens with DDR3 and DDR3L RAM. No difference.

I have triple checked that the RAM is installed correctly and BIOS sees all the 16 gb.

Advice and assistance is appreciated. Thank you.

  • Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit freezes on startup after the last update.

I think I have updated a major problem with the latest update from microsoft.

I've been running windows 7 ultimate 64-bit for over a month now, as I received it for a launch party I was the host.

That's all works fine but a few nights ago, he just stopped from upward, it just hangs at 'Starting Windows' screen, the windows logo does not yet appear.  He would not go into safe mode and startup repair couldn't do anything.

This happened right after that I had installed a windows update, but I thought that nothing of all this at once, but one of my friends mentioned that their windows vista pc did the same thing after the last update, still, I don't think not that it was bound.

I had no other way to get the things on my hard drive, so I tried to reinstall windows on top of the old, it does not work either.

I gave up, I formatted the hard drive last night and just reinstalled.
Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit,
    NVidia graphics driver
    Microsoft Security Essentials,
    Microsoft Office 2007 Ultimate,
    Apple's iTunes and Quicktime.

The computer worked so very well, so this morning I came back to it, it was working fine, there was a box saying that a windows update was waiting to be installed, I clicked it, it was of course a big one because it was the first for this new install to get.  When he asked me to restart, I did, he went through his usual routine and now, as I sit typing this, I am facing screen "starting windows" frozen again.

My processor is an Intel Pentium D
I have 4 GB of RAM.

There is obviously something wrong dangerously with the last update of windows, were there any other reports of this?

Too, I recently had problems with Win 7 freeze on me. After you have uninstalled all the updates I had installed on 24 December 2011, 1 update could not be uninstalled and it was the update to sp1 of windows 7. After you have uninstalled all updates (except SP1 cause could not be uninstalled) I tried to play again the media and my system hang or aka freeze for a few seconds, and this happened even when I was gaming.  I had a lot of problems after that update, including any media type of videos to play just thrown music windows media player. After restoring my computer to a previous state (before that the updates have been installed) now my computer works normal again. So, for those of you having problems with windows and your way of thinking too yourself Uggghhh, why he did this? Well this is the service pack 1, windows now, I don't know any alternative to restore your computer to an earlier date before the updates took place, and if you don't have a win 7 is pretty smart and im sure they have a restore to the factory settings. These are the only options that helped me get rid of my system hanging up. I hope this helps some people and I'm sorry I can't guide you threw it and the steps how to restore your comp because of parameters factory all the comps are different.

  • Satellite Pro A120 (PSAC0E) does not start after upgrading RAM

    Hello

I hope someone can help me here, I recently bought a Satellite Pro A120 (PSAC0E) and decided to upgrade the RAM. I bought a stick of 512 MB of curries with the following specifications: DDR PC2700 200-pin 333 Mhz SODIMM (64 x 64).

However, the first problem I encountered was an alignment problem. A little effort and handling solved this, but after you insert the RAM into the available slot, the computer laptop wouldn't boot, and instead, I had the flashing sequence on the LED from 2,3,3.

I was told it might be a problem matching, then tried to remove the original RAM and booting with just the new stick, still the same error. I tried it in the slots and still no joy. It starts very well with the original 256 MB of RAM, but refuses to take the new RAM.

Are there any known issues? Can anyone suggest something that I can do wrong? I followed the usual steps of upgrade to remove all power cables and the battery before the upgrade, but still no joy.

Hoping that someone is able to help!

    Hi James

You simply have bad memory modules and is not a compatible uses.

    > the first problem I encountered was an alignment problem. A little effort and handling solved this,

This should not happen! The right modules can be inserted without any problem of alignment!
    Handling can damage the module!

In my opinion, you should use another and supported the RAM module.

To my knowledge, you can use the PA3512U-1M1G (DDR2-667 1 GB Memory Kit) or (PA3411U-2M1G) DDR2-533 1 GB
    The two should be compatible.

  • Satellite L670-1EE does not start after upgrading RAM 4 GB to 8 GB

I'm trying to upgrade the RAM from 4 GB to 8 GB. If I replace two 2 GB of 2 modules of 4 GB modules, the BIOS (which is the most recent) realize the 8 GB, but does not start at startup. There is just the white cursor blinking not.

When I put in the 1 4 GB module and 1 2 GB module the system starts without a problem and has 6 GB. I checked the two 4 GB modules, they work in any combination, but not when both are installed together.

I couldn't find any rider or the settings of the bios for the RAM...

    Any idea?

Thanks in advance for the help

The last plausible explanation is that both modules are ok, but not compatible with each other.
The laptop can be upgraded up to 8 GB of RAM. This should not be a problem since the unit is supported by the Chipset Mobile Intel HM55 Express.

So I think that you need to replace the modules Kingston modules are great and work without problem.

  • Qosmio X 870-13 L - black screen after upgrading Ram

    Hello

This is the 2nd time that I buy ram to upgrade my PC and it does not work. My PC has 2 theses ram already installed when I bought, and they are 4 GB each:

    "PC-12800 DDR3 800 MHz 11-11-11-28 M471B5273CHO-CKO samsun.

I did some research before buying ram and saw that I had to buy the same frequency, CL and tension.
So I bought this RAM which has the same exact settings as those already installed, but as soon as I insert it, I get a blackscreen on startup, can't even get to the BIOS. :

    http://www.Corsair.com/en-AU/Corsair-Memory-8gb-DDR3L-SODIMM-memory-cmso8gx3m1c1600c11

Then I returned and bought theses two instead because people told me that the ram could be defective or my motherboard doesn't like two channels + 1 single channel:

    http://www.Corsair.com/en-us/Corsair-Memory-8gb-2-x-4GB-DDR3-SODIMM-memory-cmso8gx3m2a1600c11

but here again, I have a blackscreen when they are inserted, I tried to put both or only 1 in the 2 available slots, but no matter what I do it does not work, the computer works fine when I remove the ram I bought.

I even flashed my BIOS, but it did not help.

So what I would get is a link to a 8 GB ram kit that will work for sure because I've already lost 15 with delivery.

    Thank you

The problem is related to new RAM modules.

I assume that there is only one real solution: you must replace the modules and must use compatible parts.

The Corsair DDR3L module seems to support the 1.35v (test voltage).

As far as I know Toshiba recommends the module PA5037U-1M8G (8 GB 1600 Mhz PC3-12800) who favour the voltage 1.5V.

So I guess you need to use the support 1.5V modules

You must use the Configurator of Corsair compatibility on their Web site.

See if you can return the modules. The modules seen in the image below are the only guaranteed compatible modules by Corsair. Unfortunately, they are not modules of 4 GB compatible to your laptop.

Memory of Kingston, on the other hand, is it guaranteed compatible 2 GB and 4 GB modules of memory for your laptop. With Kingston, bars of memory, you can upgrade to 8 GB and do work correctly the first time you start it back up after the upgrade.
