ZBook - how do wired LAN?

My wife and I have new 17 s of ZBook that work very well on our wireless network. How can I force allows them to use our wired network via CAT5 cable?  There is a button that disables the wireless, but that doesn't seem to do anything except turn off the wireless.

I tried again and this time it worked. I suspect the CAT5 cable, that I first tried was defective. I downloaded a large file over the network twice, once using wireless and once the cable network. It reported an average using 2 MB/s wireless and 16-17 MB/s using the wired network. It's what I expected, but it did not work when first tried.

HP connection manager came when the network connection has been created, and then he went. How do my own HP connection manager?

Thanks for having me look at that again, now to see if the other ZBook works also on the cable network...

  • WIRELESS and wired LAN do not know each other

My internet provider installed a new cable modem, without capacity WIFI because I have an airport extreme base WIFI (with cable Express extensions).  Speed and quality are OK, wireless and wired, but there seems to be a wall of China between WIFI and wired (LAN): devices that are connected via a cable to my LAN are not visible from the wireless network and vice versa.  Airport extreme is not 'Bridge' mode ("because not of wireless on the new modem capability".)

No idea of the reasons for this?  Thank you very much

Sounds like the configuration of the device. With the airport devices it can operate as a device on the network or another firewall as its own network. I think that it is way jumpered to activate, this will allow you to configure the wireless on the airport, but your current router will do the DNS/DHCP and will be a single network.

Now that you have configured as two routers on an independent network as there is no bridge.

  • Wired LAN undetected on a Satellite U940 after installing Win7 Pro

    Hello

After replacement of the HDD in the Satellite U940-100 and the installation of win 7 Prof 64 b the wired lan device is not detected. According to the documentation, there should be a 'Fast Ethernet LAN' in the U940.

On the Toshiba support site, there is a Realtek driver available, but no luck. During installation a message appears: Realtek network controller was not found. The network cable is plugged in, but no led indicator. On the router the giga bit led will blink.

Went LAN so where? Any suggestions?

And what is stated in the network adapters? Realtek network card is listed there?
    This is really strange.

  • How to set up a wired LAN on a Wrt320n?

Hello, I have a router Wrt320n, and it is connected to 2 desktops through cables of cable.

a computer is Windows XP, and the other has Windows 7.

Both computers receive the Internet connection and are visible to the router, but the two computers cannot interact with each other.

Which means that we cannot share files or play multiplayer games between them.

I would like to know how to set up a Local network for these two reasons.

    Thanks in advance.

For sharing files between 2 calculates... Make sure that file and printer sharing is enabled... Also, make sure the computer are in the same workgroup... Default workgroup in Windows Vista has been renamed to WORKING group. In Windows XP, the default workgroup name is MSHOME...

  • Qosmio X 500-how use Gigabit LAN?

My gigabit sometimes connection connects to 100Mbit. How to switch up to gigabit or configure it cannects to gigabit?

My DHCP server is a router 100Mbit, but I connect the Qosmio and 2 other computers and NAS to a GB switch. I did the NAS to connect to Go when he origin connected to 100 Mbps switch ip static and return to DHCP and configure Jumbo mtu. (9 k). office and other laptops have not had a problem with it so far, but I want to be better informed in case the problem is.

Where can I get more info on all the configuration settings in the property for the gigabit adapter box? I'm sure the amswer is out there somewhere but don't want to turn it off by random changes to the properties.

    Hello

If you want to use Gigabit LAN, you must first a cable that supports the high speed connection to the local network. As far as I know, it must have at least CAT5e specifications.
    Did you check that?

Additionally, make sure that this latest LAN driver is installed at Toshiba. Check the driver download page.

Last but not least, in the properties of the network card in Device Manager, you can choose with speed mode should be used. Here, you must select Gigabit.

  • Satellite A45-SP270 - how boot from LAN?

Hi, I have a Toshiba Satellite A45-SP270 and I want to install Windows XP, but the CD player does not work and I don't have floppy drive (boot USB is not available) so the only remaining option is using the LAN option, but I don't know how to use it. There is a tutorial to use the LAN Boot or another option to install XP?

    Hello

The installation of LAN is very delicate.
You will need to configure a RIS (remote installation of the server).
Microsoft 2000 and more recent Server edition support this option, but I doubt you'll have obtained these BONES

The simplest solution would be to put the folder i386 (placed on the Win XP CD) HARD disk, and then start the winnt.exe which is placed in this folder.
This will start the installation of windows XP.

Just bought 2 new G3 15 Zbook computers for the office and two of them have this problem.

It seems that the WLAN/LAN switching does not work, computers seem to only priority wireless, even though I have the cable.

Tried to turn on WLAN/LAN switching in the BIOS, updated to the latest version of the BIOS, tried to change the priority settings of the network affecting, downloaded the latest drivers from HP, all without success.

It seems that it is a driver problem, wifi-button"on the computer is not turn on or off the WIFI, but it turn bluetooth on or off.

Searched the web for different drivers but come back to the top with nothing.

    What could cause this?

    Best regards, Adam

  • 1DX / Windows 10 wired LAN pairing problems

Since I updated to Windows 10 I can't my LAN WFT matching to work with my 1Dx.

There is no report error code. After having reached the matching point in the Connection Wizard, the camera keeps trying to connect but never does.

I tried to use the settings manual, but quickly realized I don't know what I'm doing.

I think that maybe some Windows features necessary to achieve needs matches to be turned on manually - I know that the FTP server components are not installed by default.

Of course, it's a major disaster, I like to use this technology and it has been one of the main points of sale of the camera for me.

    Any help much appreciated.

OK, so it works 100% now. I was convinced that it was stable enough to use the EOS utility with a customer today and it didn't let me down. LAN high speed transfer all the way.

Here are the settings I changed to get the camera to connect:

-In the network and Internet / network and sharing Center / Advanced active profile sharing settings / private, I turned on the network discovery and automatic configuration of connected devices

-In the Windows Firewall, I turned on permissions for EOS Utility 3 and Canon EOS UPNP detector in bot profiles private and pubic.

It took a bit of trial and error but I am happy to have the operation of the system.

For the guy Canon CPS who kept going on the FTP mode and how I should contact Microsoft (and soon to be Googling this page every day that people update Win10): you're welcome.

  • Need help setting up a wired LAN lan games

I try to understand what I have to buy an easy to implement the cable LAN.  Specifily more I'm looking for a router, switch, or hub.  I will be putting this LAN up aboard a commercial ship so it must be wired (too much metal for an efficeint wireless signal) and I'll proably a 12 people who want access to connect to an Xbox 360 or PS3.  This LAN will never have access to the internet.  In the future there may be more people who would like a connection so I would have the possibility to connect two switches together (1 switch by the bridge of the ship).  but for now I'll just implement 1 Platinum that I have only one available output to power a switch/router/hub.

    Key factors

    1. you are looking for something small price

2 you can connect at least 12 people

    3. simple and detroit before implementing.

4 hold a model specific linksys product so I can read about the installation process.  That way if I need to assign IP addresses, I can make it in advance and make installation as soon as possible.

You can opt for a router (8 ports) BEFSR81 or BEFSR41 (4 ports) followed by a network switch EZXS55W/EZXS88W/EZXS16W (08/05/16 PORTS). No need to put the IP address for the computers that you can use the DHCP from the router to the switch and the computers.

  • Jet 7 Wired LAN Access (not WiFi)

Anyone know if HP Jet 7 can connect to a LAN wired using an external USB adapter? I didn't know if the operating system can support the correct driver and if the port USB 7 stream the output of the power supply.

Ideally the USB Ethernet adapter will also have PoE so the 7 workflow is reloaded at the same time. I need this for free Wi - Fi environment.

    Thank you!

The stream can use a USB ethernet with an OTG cable/adapter.  But you're going to encounter any problems with the charge of the end of things.  By design, the flow of charge is or host devices, but not both at the same time.  To overcome that, you would need a device like this http://plugable.com/products/ud-pro8 which basically tricks the flow by mode then by performing an external change in host mode without disconnect anything unit of charge.  It also has an own ethernet port, but the device is almost as expensive as the stream itself.

  • Windows 7 of intermittent wired lan/internet connection.

In a Word, my Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit) PC intermittently drops his internet connection. Why?

Reminder: My PC is connected to my DSL modem/router that is directly connected to the telephone line. I also have wireless connectivity enabled in the router for a laptop to the wireless network.

Every few hours or more, using my PC, I find I can't access the internet and the pages will not load. Finally, Windows7 will update the network icon in the taskbar to display the symbol of an exclamation mark on the network icon. Opening of the network and sharing Center will show the red cross between the 'multiple networks' and 'Internet '.

I'm running VirtualBox of Sun on this machine and creates a network connection for itself. This doesn't seem to affect the intermittent dropping (i.e. drops intermittent occur if the connection of VirtualBox is used or not) and indeed, I installed on the two other machines (Windows XP and the other Vista Home Premium (32 bit)) of VirtualBox and these work without any problem.

When the connection does not drop, I can't access internet pages, or I can access the router at http://192.168.1.1/ web administration page, so I guess I lost all local LAN access too.

It certainly isn't the router (or the Internet itself) as my laptop, using the wireless connection (and running Vista Home Premium) continue to be able to access the internet (and the pages of the router web admin) very well.

Whenever this happens, I can immediately restore all the internet and local network access by opening the network map page, disable the "connect to the Local network' and then the reactivation. Give it a few seconds and all is well again. I guess that's because, under the MISTLETOE, it actually makes a "ipconfig/release" then "ipconfig / renew".

The allocation of IP for Windows 7 computer is the same before and after the "drop". I have a DHCP server on the router issuing IP addresses, but my Windows 7 computer uses a static address (192.168.1.2).  I also tried with a dynamic IP (served to the ADSL router) and there is no difference.

There is also no specific measure in the event logs various system, other than what relates to the abandonment plug which is a "customer DNS event" and it is generated once the connection dropped and is an event specifying DNS information that could not be found for any Web site I can I try to access, just after the connection is interrupted.

The NIC chipset is Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller and I have confirmed that it is the correct chipset for the motherboard (Asus M4A77TD PRO), and in fact, Windows Update installed a driver for this updated January 12, 2009. Details of the update is an update of the Realtek software since December 2009. Either way, I was still having the same intermittent problems before this update. He seems to have done no difference at all.

Anyone know why this is happening and how to fix it?  I have looked for answers to this and seen a few other people (even on the MSDN/Technet forums) affected by the same or almost the same problem, but with no clear resolution. Suggestions of disabling IPv6 on the LAN adapter and ensure there is no power 'dormant' management the network adapter have been tried but do not cure the problem. It doesn't seem to be a particular sequence of events likely to occur either. I got to go twice in 20 minutes when just randomly on the web without any other traffic and I also had it go once then not again go for 2 or 3 hours with the same type of use.

Can anyone tell me why this is happening and how to make it stop?

  • Satellite C870-1J6 wired LAN DHCP problems

    Hi all

Here, I have a new laptop C870-1J6, which makes my life miserable. It won't start not reliable PXE, and the network card also does not start in Windows.

On a cold start the PXE boot Gets an address dhcp fine most of the time, but a warm reboot fails most of the time.
In windows this NIC also does not start. After five to ten minutes, he finally gets an address from the DHCP server. Rest of the network works fine.

No points for guessing the manufacturer of the network card, of course, there a realtek :-(
"RTL8102E/RTL8101E PCI Express Fast Ethernet controller.
    PCI ven: 10EC, dev: 8136

None of the solutions, or can send Toshiba somehow? because I don't think I can do a lot on the PXE problem myself.

At first, I have to say that I m really wondering why you have problems of LAN under Windows.
Have you noticed these LAN issues from the first day of use?
Are you using the original pre-installed OS that you got with your laptop or a facility clean or even company?

Maybe stupid question, but I assume that LAN is set as first boot device, right?

  • How to Segment LAN/WLAN with TimeCapsule and third party LAN

    Hello

I have a bit of a delicate situation. I need to speed up my (W) LAN through segmentation and hope that many of you might be able to help here.

Currently my TimeCapsule connects via its WAN for a FritzBox with DHCP port. 255.255.255.0 subnet / host 192.168.178.1 TC router is turned off (bridge mode). The TC creates a wireless network. The FritzBox connects to the ISP and a lot other customers outside the TimeCapsule.

The first WLAN TimeCapsule is extended by a second TimeCapsule. A couple AppleTV and expresses the airport are connected in the scope wireless of the 2nd TimeCapsule but far out of reach for first time capsule. Apple network and FritzBox network clients need NOT communicate with each other. It will be even better if they were aware, because there are other AppleTV, printers, servers UPnP, stream movie, etc.

Thus, the 2nd TimeCapsule acts as a 'bridge' for the internet.

Now, I want to segment the LAN (W). The main reason is to reduce traffic. The two TimeCapsules to connect with a very low bandwidth, because there are a whole bunch of concrete between the two. Since then, there are a LOT of current traffic, customers and also the internet connection around my TimeCapsules is not responding to most of the time.

Is it possible to segment the LAN (W) with my first TimeCapsule and create a LAN (W) dedicated?

Thank you very much for your help!

I think that you need good QoS or limitation if I read your message.

    Give me real numbers.

What is the max download and upload becomes your Frtizbox? Many real world real... using ethernet for the Fritzy and anything else using the bandwidth.

The first link to the TC1 on ethernet should be no problem... but the TC2 wireless link is probably give you mediocre results... and there is very little you can do about it... have you tried or considered using adapters EOP. (homeplug to the United States).

If you take the link that will help you.

Segment the network's not going help the problem that I see.

What model is the Christopher? Is there a QoS limitation or even decent with the limitation of bandwidth?

You can set IP alias or VLAN on that?

    What model is the TC?
