  • VPN configuration blocking Internet connectivity

I own an iPhone6 (bought in November 14 and another iPad4 (bought in early 2014) - I face a problem even in both devices.)

Whenever I'm trying to be devices connecting to the Internet (this either through Mobile or wireless data, I have to take concrete steps to start-up the VPN setting without which the device connect to the Internet. However sometimes (although not very often) the VPN configuration gets turned on by itself without manual intervention (on start-up or mobile data or WiFi on the device). So there is always some delay time in the connection to the Internet whenever I want to use the device.

I would be grateful for suggestions from the community in order to overcome the problem.

You have installed VPN software or you have configured in your VPN settings? If you have a VPN configuration, then check its configuration. If you do not have a VPN configuration or a VPN software installed, then the VPN switch in settings should not illuminate.

  • delete a block - my computer won't let me use google chrome as a browser. It indicates that the internet connection is not available.

When you use the internet, my virus detector asked if I would allow google chrome to download a newer version. I clicked on the decline, and then my internet has stopped working. I finally got back on, but now my computer won't let me use google chrome as a browser. It indicates that the internet connection is not available. I was able to use other browsers, but not Google. I tried disabling my firewall to see if it would work then, but it still doesn't work. Any suggestions? I'm afraid, that I blocked it somehow. Thank you!!

    Hello

I suggest you post your question in the Google Chrome forums here: http://www.google.com/support/forum

This looks like a problem with this specific program and not with Windows. I hope this helps!

  • Norton firewall is blocking the connection to the internet

my firewall is norton and it blocks my connection to the internet WHA I can do to fix this

my firewall is norton and it blocks my connection to the internet WHA I can do to fix this

-First, let me tell you what is obvious: Norton is not Microsoft (or vice versa).  If you need help with something your Norton product, you go to Norton / Symantec for assistance.

Uninstall all Norton products and go with a different antivirus (ONLY) solution and use Windows Firewall.  I address not only at random here - I'm saying this based on years of experience.

Get rid of Norton. Anything and everything that made by Norton.

With respect to the AntiVirus - free are fine: AVG,Avast,Avira

You could spend ~ 60USD during two years of eSET NOD32 AntiVirus (not more - just product AntiVirus) and which would be more worthwhile.

In your case, here is what I propose...

Choose a product other than Norton or McAfee. Get it.

Uninstall the Norton stuff (use their removal there tool.)

After a reboot - install your new product and update after the installation.

Run a full scan with it.

Then - just to make sure you started on the right foot...

    Search for malware:

Download, install, execute, update and perform analyses complete system with the two following applications:

Remove anything they find. Reboot when necessary. (You can uninstall one or both when finished.)

Search online with eSet Online Scanner. Remove everything it finds.

    Reset.

  • T510 - blocks ethernet wired Internet connection

I'm really frustrated with Lenovo network management system. It seems too complex and too slow. In addition, on my home network, wireless always seems to be favored.

When I plug my ethernet connection, the system sees an unknown connection and down Internet access (although I can still see my local network). Even if I can play in the work, as soon as I restart the Internet connection fails again. Do a repair of network does not work. Often, the only way to get Internet access is to disconnect the ethernet cable.

I've fiddled with it for hours. I played with all the options, as well as 'include the ethernet connection in changing the location' but nothing helped. I can't get the ethernet connection still works.

This should be simple (and on all my other computers). Just plug in the cable and it works. I'm open to suggestions...

Your router provides firewall protection, so the need is not the same
as if you had no a router. There are some who say you need to no.
    all firewall software.

But my opinion is that you would be a lot safer if you have run a
router software, and since there is little reason not to, I
    recommend that you do.

    Ken Blake, Microsoft MVP

    I agree.

@OP Windows XP (SP2 and above), Vista, 7 and 8 all have active firewall software by default.

There is no need of any 3rd party firewall.

Some users like running programs such as ZoneAlarm because it warns him from the processes that use the network, and then there is the possibility to deny/allow it on the spot, or deny/allow forever. There may be slight discomfort in the installation, but once it's for all your programs, and then it really can work in silent mode.

Microsoft Firewall simply leave everything default, but they can be configured manually to block anything outgoing or incoming.

  • Block outbound connections

Hello, I want to know how to block outbound connections on my macbook 12 using MacOs Sierra.

In the firewall, I have found that I can block incomming connections.

    I missed an option?

How can I do Terminal form?

You can edit the hosts file by using Terminal Server, although I wouldn't recommend it if you don't know what you're doing. But in doing so you can block outbound access to specified IP addresses or websites.

If you just want to stop your mac login, why don't you just turn off your wifi if you are not connected to internet?

Otherwise a GUI like Little Snitch firewall would be a better option that gives options very granular to block inbound and outbound traffic and is quite easy to use and implement.

  • Internet connection no longer works unless I have disconnect and reconnect the wifi regularly

I find that after a time random, maybe twenty minutes a half an hour or so, my internet connection breaks down and it can only be fixed by disconnecting and reconnecting to my wifi network.

It is a problem on my iMac of retina 2014 running El Capitan and 2011 MacBook Air my wife running Mountain Lion (but not on my MacBook Air of 2011 which takes place in Yosemite).

It does not seem to be triggered by almost anything, but it's maddening to have to do all the time. It's a router NetGear btw, less than a year.

If anyone has a solution I'd love to hear it!

Welcome to the communities of Apple Support! It seems you have some problems to stay connected to the Wi - Fi on some of your devices. This is not how it is supposed to work so I'll be happy to help you.

  • Apple TV (9.2.1) removes the internet connection when you try to use Siri

    Greetings,

I think I saw network related issues with my Apple TV. Everything works fine most of the time. But sometimes, including, but not limited to, when I try to use Siri, Apple TV almost always drops the wireless internet connection. I've included a picture below of exactly what it looks like. I scoured both online that I can but it doesn't look like anyone has the same problems.

I called Apple support and they suggested that I connect to another source of wifi. I used my hotspot on my iPhone and the Apple TV has worked well without any hitch in the connection. This leads me to believe it's firewall partner.

However, I have disabled literally of each firewall setting I found in my router and still cannot find a solution. I also use a WAP browser in addition to router which is what my Apple TV is connected to. My WAP is an enterprise-level device, but I'm having issues access to the features of the admin of it network. Before I go and reset my WAP I wanted to get additional advice from people with experience in networking and firewall, especially with services like Siri.

Thanks in advance. Pics and info of additional device below.

Hello. I don't think that this has nothing to do with the firewall, etc. When you use Siri, you send your voice via Bluetooth to ATV. If your WiFi signal is weak, the Bluetooth maybe block, if you are using 2.4 GHz. could you try to connect to a network of 5 GHz and see if that helps?

  • Internet connection works, but Firefox doesn't load pages

Internet connection works on Win7 Office (updates Windows, Google Earth works etc.) but Firefox & IE does not load web pages.

Send from your cell phone like PC WIn7 does not allow me to connect and use the troubleshooting software

Thanks for the reply, but I found the solution.
Many answers forum suggest to change the network settings, but that does not work either.
The combination which solves the problem was to run "SuperAntiSpyware" who found a virus that Norton has not blocked. AND to uninstall and reinstall my copy of Norton 360.

  • I updated firefox and you have a question, if I allowed firefox to use my internet connection, I clicked on No - by mistake - and now firefox is locked, it can not use it at all.

I got a message that he did not have an update for firefox. When the update has been done, I have a question if I would allow firefox to use my internet connection. By mistake I clicked No, and which showed that Firefox is now locked. I can't go out on the internet at all with her. When I write in links or try to write words for the search nothing happens.
Tried to download firefox and reinstall but it is still blocked.
I use internet explorer, so the problem is not in the Internet.
How do I unlock Firefox so I can use it again?

Your firewall block access Firefox, read here for more information on how to enable the connection again depending on your firewall:

  • Internet connection via Wi - Fi on MacBook Pro

I had problems with my MBP WiFi since I got it. I tried to follow the suggestions here:http://osxdaily.com/2014/10/25/fix-wi-fi-problems-os-x-yosemite/with no luck.

My internet connection will not go away, but I will be always connected to Wi - Fi. Requests for a browser will be blocked until they then expire. I often have to reboot to fix the problem.

I brought in the Apple Store when it first started happening, but as it is a random event, they couldn't reproduce them. They said there was nothing they could do.

There is definitely something wrong with the laptop, because I have one older MBP as well as several other devices connected to the Wi - Fi connection, and they do not have these problems.

  • Satellite P850 32Z - problems with internet connection

I used the internet from a laptop computer for a long time without any major problems until a couple of days. When I turn on my laptop, although it shows I get full bars in terms of connection to the internet, but when I open the web browser (Chrome), the web page does not open.
I tried switching on and off the router but nothing helped.

I tried many time to troubleshoot and what are the messages that I had before:
    Diagnostic strategy does not start
A default gateway is not available
Security or Firewall setting may be blocking the connection

I noticed that after the resolution of the problem, the problem is not fixed (around 90%) but sometimes it works when the laptop is cool, but it fails again when I put the laptop to sleep.
    Anyone had similar problems before?
