10g R2 no RAC-database unique Instance to upgrade to 11g R2-2 node RAC database

Hi all

I have a requirement for my client.

We have a three databases with replication between them activated by MV & MV connects to the 10 g R2 database.

This must be upgraded to Database 11g R2 with a 2 RAC node.

Please tell us how to get started and go.

Also please notify once upgraded to database 11g R2, how replication can be achieved.

Thank you

Vijayaraghavan.K

> We have to first upgrade to 11 g R2 Instance unique and then move on RAC - node 2

You must install the grid Infrastructure for Cluster and RAC database software in the new cluster.

Then upgrade the database as a single instance database.

Then, convert it to the RAC

See http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/rac.112/e17264/install_rac.htm#TDPRC185 for the conversion of the measures.

  • Why a sql statement has become slow after upgrade to 11g database

    Hello

My previous version of the database is 9I and any sql statement are well-developed.
but after upgrading to 11g database, a sql statement become slowly.

My senior dba friend told me there are a few different calculating methods from 9i to 11g.
is any body can explain this different methods from 9i to 11g, and what should be attention to calculate at what level 9i to 11g. I thank.

    Sean

The administrator of yours is correct. What he meant, 9i, the works of the optimizer with different formulas and 11 g, there are different formulas. PS this sometimes causes when you upgrade from 9i (or even 10g too), analyze the queries that worked with RBO in 9i perfectly and used indexes, all of a sudden they stop using it because the CBO think not that this is a good choice. It would be too difficult to put formulas here by anyone, but what I can say is that to buy a book.

And practice on 9i, 10g and 11g. It would say a lot of formulas used by oracle.

They should NOT put just to 12 c, correct.

Fix.  There is not currently a scheduled date for individuals with 11g as their highest certification of need to obtain a new certification.  If Oracle does not change their policy (unlikely), it will be a date in the future where it is practiced.  However, the upgrade to 11g will prolong the active life of their powers of Oracle by (I guess here) 2-3 years.

I don't know what you mean by "shall take".  Once you have OCP, Oracle requires no additional training for practical requirement - even if the certifications become inactive and must be reactivated. I guess you mean that he took the class because he wanted to prepare 1Z0 - 050. Based on this issue, he now wonders if he needed to go directly to 1Z0 - 060 rather (and therefore would like to take the new features in preparation for this test review 12 c).

  • Creating instances of the class customized for XML nodes

    Hi guys,.

I'm trying to load an external XML document in my application and create an instance of a custom class for each node in the XML file based on the value of some of their elements. Instances created later will end by in a DataGrid by the way. The problem I have is there seems to be several ways to make small parts of it and I have no idea how do them all gel. Initially, I use HTTPService to load the XML file, but I've seen people just use a XML object. Then, after that, I put the XML loaded to an ArrayCollection collection initially, but others used XMLList or XMLListCollection. I have no idea of what is the best way to do it.

Finally, when I created all of these instances by looping through XML and their creation how I'll make them bindable to the DataGrid? I guess I'll have to group together them somehow...

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Create a class customized for your 'point' of dataGrid dataProvider objects
    * Use HttpService to get the XML code.
    * use an e4x expression for the child nodes of the xml in an XMLList: myXML.children () or myXML.myNodes;
    * use a for loop on the XMLList
    * inside of the loop, create a new instance of the custom class
    * Of the [i] myXMLList, obtain all necessary attribute values and assign them to the appropriate properties in the instance of the custom class.
    * always inside the loop, use myArrayCollection.addItem (mycustomClass) to add the element to the collection of the dataProvider ArrayCollection.

  • CloudControl 12 c: when you add unique instances of cluster-database are missing

    Hello
I'e installed agent 12 c on every single host of our CARS. When you add a database to CloudControl 12 c just the RAC instance gets discovered--but not instances of single database on each host.
For this reason when target by clicking-> databases I just see the cluster-database - but not every single instance of the database.

It's a totally different behavior from another data base RAC.

    Basu,

Dg4ODBC gateway can be used with the 10.2.0.5 database. It is certified and no additional license is required for the database to ODBC gateway - the license is included in the license database (even when the Oracle database is still version 10.2) AND you can also install Dg4ODBC on another machine, then the Oracle database. There is no need to have Dg4ODBC installed on the same computer as the Oracle database.

-When you install DG4ODBC on the same machine as your Oracle 10.2 database, then install in its own, separate OH - otherwise you will corrupt your existing installation of the database.

  • 10g Grid Control with database 11g

    Hello

According to the name of the topic, it is possible to manage a database 11g with 10g grid control? The situation is that 10g grid is up and running and we have several new 11g databases, can they be added?

After that, when I try to install an agent from the web interface, I'm invited only with the Linux platform, however the 11g database is under Windows, how can this be resolved? (Enterprise Manager Grid Control works on linux)

Thank you very much for the input.

Yes, it can. But better to use the Agent and the Group of OEM Grid Control 10.2.0.5 patch.
Learn more Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control Certification Checker ID 412431.1*.

Not sure I understand how you install the agent, could you clarify? It comes from the OEM Grid COntrol? Have you downloaded the Agent for Windows?

  • RAC 11.2.0.1 to 11.2.0.2 to the new Cluster upgrade with any number of nodes

I'd like suggestions on upgrading a RAC Oracle 11.2.0.1 in Linux x86_64 RHEL 5.3 with 6 cases of a new cluster with 4 linux x86_64, RHEL 5.5 and upgrading to 11.2.0.2 nodes group of hotfixes.
New SAN storage will be used. Both systems use ASM.

    Current system... New system
    11.2.0.1... 11.2.0.2
    6 instances... 4 instances
    Linux RHEL 5.3 x86_64... Linux RHEL 5.5 x86_64

    Method:
    (1) run controls and upgrades pre scripts
    (2) save the current database with RMAN and put at the disposal of the backup files to the new host
    (3) install grid Infrastcure on the new cluster 11.2.0.2
    (4) set up ASM on the new Cluster
    (5) install the Oracle RAC 11.2.0.2 on the new cluster database and create the database with the same name of the original database.
    (6) startup nomount using a parameter file and the source of DBID edited without the cars parameters (cluster_database = false, etc...)
7-restore Rman backup controlfile to step 1
    (8) restore / restore incomplete database
    (9) OPEN RESETLOGS UPGRADE
    10) proceed to updates manual steps (script catupgrd.sql, etc.)
    (11) remove the cancellations additional tablespaces e redo log son
    (12) CONVERTED to THE CARS USING DBCA or RCONFIG

This method is correct? Do you offer other methods or corrections?

I also want to know if there is another thing to delete, besides redo threads and undo tablespaces, due to the smaller number of cases.

I also considered using RMAN DUPLICATE to the same version (11.2.0.1) and then MOVE to 11.2.0.2, but DOUBLE would change the DBID.

    Thank you

    Hello

your efforts seem valid, but its awfully difficult.

Why not simply create a watch on 11.2.0.1 and then update.
If you are using "duplicate for standby" should not change the dbid.

Then, you can just 'turn on' the night before and continue the upgrade.

RE: I'm not sure that the db objects have a diagram of component of Oracle application server, but it looks like little that they could me.
The view is a table of the components in the part.  And the fact synonym refers to the view.

    Hi Charlie
    Take a look at

After the upgrade the management of identities of 10.1.2.0.2 to 10.1.4.2 INTERNET_APPSERVER_REGISTRY. SCHEMA_VERSIONS is invalid (Doc ID 557591.1)

You have improved your IDM to 10.1.4.3 so (although the title speaks about 10.1.4.2 (I think that the problem addressed in the document of support applies to your situation. In short, the invalid view can be ignored - and goes the same for the synonym... IAS_VERSIONS... I think it is a synonym for the view - and therefore is too marked as invalid.

If you are satisfied with this explanation please close this thread.

  • Oracle Database 10 G R2 upgrade to 11G R2

    Hello all,.
I sat down with a particular situation, and hoped some tips.
I currently supports Oracle 10 G R2 installation with one of my clients. It runs on Red Hat Linux. I struggle a bit with the environment as my only customer commissions Linux environment without an X environment. Having said all that, it is my preference to upgrade the databases and the schema, I to 11G and put them under Windows purely because it opens the personnel of non-Unix administration. Applications that use the Oracle DBs are not very critical missions or strong intensity of resources so the loss of performance by moving to Windows is not an important factor (although all comments on this approach, we read with interest).

So to cut a long story, which would be my easiest upgrade option? I have master them Oracle (read: "a lot of tinkering but no training").

    Any thoughts or advice?

    TIA
