177fw HP MFP: MFP 177fw no scan button

I think I already know the answer to this because messages on the forum for other State printers is not available, but just to confirm, is there no option to scan directly from MFP 177fw (which is the scan button)? I didn't notice any mention other than to scan from PC documentation.

Indeed, as your laser printers offer no sign before scanning.

No scan on 3630 Deskjet button its all done through your computer. Not like the good old 3055A I've just dumped.

It took me an hour to realize this, but now I've found my way around it, it seems simple enough (I'm 70 years old and more) so a little behind early digital age.

Go to devices on your copmputer and make sure that its in this folder.

Click on that and all will be revealed. Printing or scanning options and where the file/send.

Persevere, he cursed frustrating as HP mention nothing of this detail in their sales presentation text, then rely on chat rooms to answer their questions because they do not work outside office hours to answer questions when most of us work at home.

  • Scan button on F4480

I have a deskjet F4480 printer and'm running OS 10.6 on my Mac.  When I got it, almost 2 years ago I couldn't scan button to work.  I was only able to analyze by entering in the preview or the HP folder, etc.  I called HP at the time and they've come a fix to get the key scan on the printer itself works.  The week last Apple has me reinstall OS 10.6 because of a problem that I had with my fan.  This led to losing me the fix on the scan button.  I called HP and they want $25 to tell me once again the fix (my bad for not writing it down the first time).  Does anyone know what is the solution?  Thank you!

How your printer is connected to your computer?

Based on your explanation, it sounds like the Scan options are not set. Please follow the article below because it contains several solutions to solve the problem.

Please give me a link to the thing that I have to get the Scan key on the Control Panel before work? I tried just about everything I could find here and I must be missing something, I don't know what. Impossible to install from the CD original, says I need administrator rights (even if I'm using setup.exe as an administrator) and I don't have the right OS for the disc.  Cannot find the complete software recommended here. Tried printing HP and doctor Scan with no joy (says I need all the stuff that is on the CD!). Tried to install the framework of Solutions HP too. No joy. He always asks the Solutions Center on the CD.

I need this scan button. My camera is not right next to my PC and have to go back from the PC to the scanner is ridiculous.

If there is no way to get the scan button for more work, why not put to work (other than what is obvious and that is to make us buy another device)?

I found my solution.  I installed the device on an old PC I had in stock, who always had WINXP top.

  • Scan button grayed out in fashion "show details".

    Photosmart 2710 all-in-one

    Mac OS x Lion

Following the instructions in your video I have sucessfully open the scan window.

In the detail view, there are three buttons on the right side at the bottom:

    Hide details, preview, Scan

    The button is grayed.

    Preview works as expected.

If I changed my view simplified by clicking on "Hide details" the scan button works as expected. If I switch back to the detailed view it is gray again.

Why the scan button is gray not in the detail view?

After you click Preview to launch an analysis of the preview, make sure the scanning area is correct (there should be a box made of a dotted line around the scanning area.  If she is not there, drag with your mouse.

Set the scan type, the format, and destination, and then click Scan.

  • The scan button does not work on Windows XP Media Center edition 2005

Name of the printer: hp psc 1350 all-in-one

Hi, this is happened since I reinstalled the operating system with an OEM disc, removing all the hp stuff. I got a new OEM drive that comes from hp (I think... well hp stuff works now) but the scan button does not always work. The old record was kind broken.

I don't mind, but it will be useful, if it could be repaired. Don't want to do something big, would rather just not fix that to do something does not.

Note: Scanning works, but I have to look somewhere else (e.g. opening scan in the Panel)

OK, that explains why the scan button does not work.

The complete software is required for the scan button to work, it is not a feature of the base software.

Be sure to follow the steps below in order to get is torted:

    1. Unplug the USB from the printer.
    2. On the start menu, enter the HP folder. and follow the link to uninstall to remove the current software.
    3. If you don't find it there, go into control panel > add or remove programs, and remove any software installed HP PSC 1300 series.
    4. Download and install the full feature below:
      http://ftp.HP.com/pub/softlib/software10/COL8901/MP-23606-3/gc_w01_ENU_NB.exe
    5. You will find the Director of HP under the HP software. If you have problems using it, make sure you install the following hotfix:

  • PSC 1350 printer all-in-one: the "scan" button is grayed out.

I'm looking for just a simple answer to this.

My 1350 all-in-one (an old model by the way) has all of a sudden the "scan" button grayed out

He shows me the overview of the analysis, but it does not scan.

I used this computer and the printer together for many years.

This isn't a device, just a regular connection.

    Frustrating.

    Hello

Or select an area on the preview of the scan with the mouse or uncheck the custom size option and choose the required scan size, then you will be provided with the opportunity to complete the scan.

    Kind regards

  • Can not scan using my Photosmart 2610 Scan button on 10.6 Snow Leopard

    Hello

Just to avoid any confusion, is not scanning the computer here (from previewing or HPScanPro). I refer to the scanning using the Scan button on my AiO printer.

HPScanPro has stopped working for me when I installed 10.6.  What I've read, the solution is to scan to Preview.app.

My problem is that when I press scan on the printer and select my computer in the list - and say then that I select "Tiff to Preview" in the list, it always launches HPScanPro which fails.

This feature was important to me because I often have to scan lots of pages one after then the other.   Simply push the button on the scanner, then by changing the page and by pressing on the button again allows me my scan in batches and worry then save all files at once thereafter.  This is a great time saver.

Is there a known workaround solution?

Just to update my original post, it seems that HP has updated the software for the Photosmart 26xx (2610 here) for Mac OS 10.6.  The software is dated 2009-10-21, but I'm sure it wasn't there until not so long ago.  Anyway, analysis of the scan key on the printer works again and several features appear to have been improved.  There is also a widget dashboard for ink level.

I am impressed that HP will continue to improve and upgrade their software for a printer that is no longer supported for some years now.  This printer has been a very good experience.

  • Laser Jet Pro MFP 177fw: cannot scan with Laser Jet MFP 177fw Pro

I have been using my 177fw Laser Jet Pro MFP on a Mac 10.10 for awhile.  Print, fax & scaning all worked.  I can scan is no longer.  I get the message "the scanner has not completed analysis" (there may be another message before that but it crushed until I read.).

I use a USB cable for the connection.

On August 31 I got HP Printer Software Update Verson 5.  What is my problem?

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi @scg117,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I noticed your post about how you can't scan with your MFP HP Laserjet Pro 177fw on your Mac. And I'm happy to discuss this issue scan for you!

To confirm that the hardware of the printer is functional, you are able to make a copy with the glass of the scanner of the printer?

    To copy:

    1. load the document on the scanner glass according to the indicators on the product.

    2. close the scanner.

    3. on the product control panel, press the button number of Copies.

    4. Select the number of copies.

    5. press the black start copy button or the button color launch copy to start copying.

Let me know if it works, or if you see another error message.

If the copy works, then try the steps described in this guide, Scanner USB connection is lost (Mac).

  • HP MFP M277 dw: scanned image is not horizontal

    Hello

    I have problems with scanning.

The scanned image is not right, not horizontal, the image / lines slightly tilting. The right of a line that is slightly below the line on the left. Looks like the book was a little twisted, but it's not. The left and right margins are straight and vertical, but the lines is tilted slightly.

This occurs regardless whether I put the paper on the glass or using the paper feeder.

My MFP is almost new, and this problem has happened all the time.

  • Color LaserJet MFP M177fw Pro: Scan to Mac with Color LaserJet MFP M177fw Pro

I bought and the latest drivers from hp installation a HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M177fw. are downloaded and installed.

I have a Mac and you connect wirelessly to the printer, which works very well. The Mac runs Yosemite 10.10.3

My question is the digitization. There is no option for scanning anywhere, not on the small screen of the printer not on the usefulness of the printer or any where.

Summer spend hours online to find an answer and is now well bored.

I have already reset the disc printing, verified and repaired systems. Can not scan even with the options offered on the forums of hp using Apple caprure or preview. It seems that all these options include versions of OS X prior to Yosemite?

I buy a multifunction printer that is not scan? I said to the saleswoman that I need a printer that can scan and airprint...

Is it possible to scan to a mac at all with this printer? Any help?

    Hi @sa9494,

I see that you have problems with scanning. I will definitely do my best to help you.

Check the name of the driver that is installed by the printer. Make sure that it shows just the name of the printer.
Click on the Apple menu, click System Preferences. Click on Printers & Scanners, highlight the name of the printer on the left side and right side of the screen it should show the name of the printer. (Color LaserJet MFP M177fw Pro)

If the full name of the printer is not correctly, delete and add the printer name back from the list. Click on the sign - to remove the driver and then click on the + sign to add the driver might have to drop-down list to select the name of the printer to add a click.

Here is a screenshot of what it should look like. You have the scanning through top tab?

I have also included a document for HP printers - scan with HP Software in OS X v10.10 Yosemite.

Scanning ports is not open on the router to the origin of this problem. You can contact the router company to verify and to open these ports 9220/9500/427 on the router.

Connect the printer with the USB cable, to see if you have the same results.

    Let me know.

  • LaserJet MFP M177 PCLmS Scan to PC Pro?

So we bought recently a Laserjet Pro MFP M177 PCLmS on the screen of the printer I can not understand how Scan to PC.  Is it not an option with this printer?  It scans very well to the computer, but I want to rise to the printer and press a button and then have my digital element magically appear in my scan folder...

    Anyone?

    Hi JLEmpey,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I see that you are interested in the scan from the front panel of your laserjet printer, and I'd be happy to help you!

Unfortunately, the design of front panel does not for the analysis of the printer to the computer through the only material.

However, there is a workaround solution that can be used. If you use the GoogleCloud app e-storage, you could send scans to a google account from the front panel of your printer.

To install this application, you will need to contact HP Cloud Services. You can call them to the 1-855-785-2777. If you do not live in the United States / Canada region, please click the link below to get help from your region number.
