523__Media event Center Extender Setup failed to 120 step.

When I tried to connect my xbox to my Windows 7 media center, the PC has frozen the process at halfway.  After I restarted my computer and the xbox, I was unable to connect my PC to ANY xbox - I've tried three different 360 with no luck.  I received order to modify the language bar (she was never on, and change its settings did not help), remove the MMC certificates (there's never any certificates) and uninstall the Extender and the Media Center on the PC and xbox software, respectively (the Extender doesn't have an "Uninstall" button and there is never anything installed Xbox).

I don't have a firewall installed and the Windows Firewall has been disabled.  Although I can't access functions of extension on the XBOX, I can listen to music and video that is shared through Windows Media Player.  I can 'see' the Extender in Media Center, it will automatically appear in the media center, but enter the code shown on the XBOX screen gives the error:

"an error occurred while configuring your computer for use with this extension."

To be clear, the XBOX appears not as a support installed in Media Center Extender, and none of the Xbox I tried to connect to my Media Center has any software Media Center listed in their system menus.  Therefore, I cannot uninstall the Extender in Windows and I can't disconnect the media center from my XBOX.  Checking the Event Viewer provides the following information on Media Center

I searched many forums and have found a few cases of this error, yet none have found a solution before reinstalling windows.  Any thoughts?

In fact it was a post of someone else - and it worked for me earlier!  I wasn't on a domain - but I just created a new working group and he joined connected WMC for the first time!  And seems to work great so far!

"Yippee, I solved this!

It took hours of tweaking and some sophisticated tools (I'm a Windows programmer by trade), but I realized that the communication has been blocked by a firewall setting required by the Group of my domain security policy (attempts to open the appropriate ports seemed to have succeeded, but went immediately to their blocked State). To fix:

1. I gave up my machine of his field, adding a new task force with a random name.
2 restarted.
3 performed the usual join between the Xbox and computer operation. This time, it worked!
4. After using the Extender for a bit to ensure the functioning, I joined the computer to the domain and rebooted.
5. after reboot, checked that the Xbox was still paired. Now, I get redirected to my photos in the style :)).

  • UPnP search fails when adding Xbox 360 Media Center Extender

First of all, I spent a week looking for a solution to this so if I missed something obvious, I apologize.

My xbox has been connected as a media center extender to this combination of the computer and the router for several months now. The router is a WII-HP-G300NH Buffalo. Earlier this week the media center extender was having video playback problems. After restarting the computer, the Extender was is no longer connected.

When I try to add a new extension unit I get the message "unable to add extender. Microsoft says to activate upnp and multicast. Check. Reflashed firmware dd - wrt. No luck. Back to buffalo firmware. No luck. Try an old Linksys WRT54GL I hang out. No luck.

The event recorder has this error: "Media Center Extender Setup has failed as the Extender has been detected on the network unsuccessfully searching for UPnP for the Extender (timed out after 20000ms)." Event ID: 538

Now, I did everything I could find on the activation of network discovery, anything allowing to access media and these. Network and sharing Center is located about large open. I also tried switching between home and work networks.

That said, I decided to check and see what updates have been installed. It turns out that an update has been applied on the day, that I started to have problems. It is said that it can not be uninstalled. Description Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 installation software item updated

Note: I have no system restore points. Small SSD and has not taken the time to understand how to save elsewhere.

That's all the information I have. I convinced myself that it is not the router via the steps described above and that it is something to do with the computer. Help?

    FIXED.

    Reinstalled NIC drivers.

The problem is, my xbox 360 has benn works fine it's just the media library.

  • 1290 error when you try to install Media Center extender for X 360 in Win7 Pro x 64

OK, here's one for someone who knows Win7 Kernel internals.

I am trying to connect my XBox 360 to my PC MC with Windows 7 Pro x 64. When I type the code 8 digits of the Xbox in Media Center, I get an error "Setup." Check the system error log, I found that it was a failure of the Media Extender service to start. Stop of is an error 1290, that says "service start failed because one or more services in the same process have a service SID inconsistent type parameter.» SID type has something to do with the core permissions or somesuch. WAY out of my League.
The only thing that I could find online is that this error occurs sometimes in what concerns the time Service Windows, and that a registry edit to fix it. I tried a similar "fix" on this service registry entry, but it had no effect on this error, so I changed the return register.
Someone has an idea of what I might try next? I did all the standard things that are recommended for problems of Media Extender, including uninstalling and reinstalling all components of media. Re-installation of Windows is NOT an option at this stage, this computer is used by all my children, and there would be a mutiny if he became unavailable for a long period of time (especially for as "lame" reason like this). I'd really listen to my media to my XBox. I hope that someone with some knowledge of the works of this service lies this question one day.
    Thanks for reading.

  • gc_w01_enu_nb.exe extracted from 100%, but Setup fails instantly in winxp pro

gc_w01_enu_nb.exe extracted from 100%, but Setup fails instantly in winxp pro

I try to install the full feature driver for my PSC 1315xi on two WinXP Pro PC.

    One worked perfectly.

On the second, when I run the exe download, I get the message 'Extraction', but when he goes up to 100%, never open the setuup window.  And no error message is displayed.  I searched and found a log file which was produced.  It includes the following:

    GetValueByLang (f-> c_str(), _T (Version), _T (LanguagesInthisCD) failed "
System LangID = 1033.  mapped to ENU
    # The system language is ENU, but is not on our CD!
    # We couldn't understand a language to use and return FALSE from CICECmdLine::GetLanguage()!
    # GetValueByLang (f-> c_str(), _T (Version), _T (LanguagesInthisCD) failed "
    Installer returned 1603

    Any help would be appreciated.

I think I have solved this problem.

I have a PC Windows XP Pro (SP3) who has been affected by this problem.

Immediately after that the window of 'extraction' went to 100% and closed, nothing happened.  The windows install/never display software.

Whenever I tried it creates a log file that started with this:

    "Parsed command line: «.\Setup.exe".

    Using datfile: C:\DOCUME~1\xxxxx\LOCALS~1\Temp\7zS1293\autorun.inf

    # GetValueByLang (f-> c_str(), _T (Version), _T (LanguagesInthisCD) failed "

System LangID = 1033.  mapped to ENU

    # The system language is ENU, but is not on our CD!

There was other error messages after that, but they all come from lines 3 and 5.

Something she prevented the installation program to recognize the language ENU files ARE present in this download.

Comparing two PCs, a problem, and one that works perfectly, I saw that one who was not was AutoRun disabled through a registry setting.  I temporarily deleted this registry on the PC that wasn't and Setup launched and ran like he was supposed to.  Here are the first of this log from the same PC, a few minutes later, where the only difference was that I had removed the registry setting criminalized:

    "Parsed command line: «.\Setup.exe".

    Using datfile: C:\DOCUME~1\xxxxx\LOCALS~1\Temp\7zS1293\autorun.inf

System LangID = 1033.  mapped to ENU

We use the system of language = FRA, which is located on our CD!

As you can see, the message "(LanguagesInthisCD) failed" (line 3) disappeared, and the line 5 (now line 4) shows that it has to recognize that the language ENU installation files are present.

So if you encounter this problem, and you are comfortable with the system registry, here is how I got it to work on my PC:

    Start regedit
Navigate to the bottom of this tree
    -HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
    -SOFTWARE
    -Microsoft
    -Windows NT
    -CurrentVersion
    -IniFileMapping
Below, find out if there is a key named "Autorun.inf".
On my PC (the one with this problem) the value of this key has been "@SYS: nexistepas".
If your registry database also has this, it may be the cause of your problem.
In the left pane of regedit, do a right click on Autorun.inf and select "Rename" from the context menu.
Change the name to something like "Autorun.inf.hold".
    Close regedit
At this point, I restarted my PC, but I don't know if it is really necessary.
I ran the downloaded driver file.  It extracted, and the Installer started out as it was supposed to.

When it was done, I returned in regedit and renamed "Autorun.inf.hold" to "Autorun.inf".

It is extremely frustrating for me, and (if you need it), I hope that this solution works for you.

    Hi 36109

Welcome to Windows Vista answers Forums!

First you can try to uninstall and reinstall Silverlight and check.

You can try to uninstall Silverlight by downloading the Windows Installer Cleanup utility.

Description of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/290301

Restart the computer after the uninstallation of Silverlight and install it:

Note: Some menus of Windows Media Center does not support third party commercial edition can influence the ability for the Netflix at Windows Media Center entry point to appear. If one of these utilities is installed on the machine, it is likely, it is the cause of the problem, and uninstall the tool does not always solve the problem.

  • How do you play dubbed audio or subtitles in Windows Media Center Extender (Xbox 360)?

I know how to turn subtitles on my Windows Media Center PC, but there is no option to select audio dubbed or subtitled when you use Windows Media Center Extender. All my video files contain subtitles and audio dubbed foreign films.  My wife loves Spanish subtitles, because she has trouble understanding some English films.  I searched some forums and there are questions there but they have no definitive answers.  How a company billions of dollars developing a Media Center and leave out or miss crucial features like these? Please do not react with the thread on how to activate subtitles in TV Mode. Which does not apply to this question. The key word is EXTENDERS.

    Hi AnthonyWilson5

Subtitles should be coded in the movie view. These subtitles are automatically playing with video files. If the subtitles are a separate .srt file, then you will not be able to visualize everything by watching a video on the 360. There is no real turn option ON or OFF for subtitle in the Xbox 360.

But for more information you can even try to contact the expert Microsoft Xbox 360 team. Please visit the links below to find a community that will support what ask you in the right direction for Xbox 360.

  • Media Center Extender and xbox - version question

I've been recently using WMC TV recording, but I can't get the message to my TV. I think of buying any old Xbox console to get the Extender. -I really hate on the games-just the Extender. Is there a certain version of the Xbox that I have Extender? Thank you.

    Hi Dean,

Thanks for posting this question in the Microsoft Community.

You can go through the article to learn more about setting up a Windows Media Center.

If you have an Extender that worked with Windows Vista, it should work with Windows 7. For example, the Xbox 360, which includes the built-in Media Center Extender functionality will work with Windows 7.

Former dilution models that have been developed for use with Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 do not work with Windows 7. I suggest you to be sure to read the fine print on the expansion box before you buy.

Hope this information was helpful and let us know if you need assistance in the future. We will be happy to help you.
