7.1 of IntelliType Pro and MS Natural Keyboard Pro...

IntelliType 7.1 pro does not offer the MS Natural Keyboard Pro as an acceptable product when you select the type of keyboard.  Can I use one of the other keyboards, or I am simply out of luck?

Another illuciation: Microsoft has updated their http://www.microsoft.com/hardware section pages
and added new keyboards (and some not so new).  (Thanks!)

We now have to go to the hyperlink 'Download software' (in the left hand, first of all the link under the 'Resources' section).

It takes one to http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/downloads/default.mspx.  In the main frame, the first hyperlink.
http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/download/download.aspx?category=MK, takes one to a section
"Download mouse and keyboard software" where you can choose the types of keyboards.

Natural Keyboard Pro® is now among them and the proposed software's IntelliType Pro 6.31!

Someone decided that this old and venerable of the keyboard is not recent enough for later versions of IntelliType Pro!
Well, it's still going strong despite his apparently advanced age!  Built tough Microsoft!;-<>

  • Volume / Mute does not not work with IntelliType Pro and ergonomic 4000 KB

A few months ago, controls for volume/mute on my 4000 ergonomic keyboard stopped working. I searched this forum for solutions and found a number of similar problems, but none of the solutions worked on my system. Here is my configuration:

    • Windows XP SP3
    • Card SB Live PCI (audio embedded is disabled)
    • IntelliType Pro 8.15.406 software (updated 5.1; the problem began under this version)

    Here is what I tried:

    • Updated drivers SB
    • Use the original car audio system
    • Disable/re-enabling all audio devices
    • Removing the audio streaming software
    • New keyboard 4000 (not for this problem - just need a new one)
    • Return to the Bank of keys customized by default in the keyboard control panel

None of them have worked. Any other ideas?

    Thank you...

    I had the same problem, after a few hours of reading, I found my problem;

    • Run "services.mcs" without the quotes.
    • Locate "Human Interface Device Access.
    • Try restarting the service is running, if it is not executed.
    • Change the "Startup type" to "Automatic" and start the service.

I started the service, and my buttons started working again.

    I hope this helps.

  • Impossible to install intellitype pro 8.0

    Hi all

I am currently not able to install the intellitype pro 8.0 software to use for a natural ergonomic keyboard 4000 MS v. 1.0.

When I try to run the installation file, ITPx86_1033_8.0.225.0, which is the one for Vista 32 bit I downloaded today, I get this error from the installer:

    ---------------------------
Setup of Microsoft IntelliType Pro 8.0
    ---------------------------
The facility must close because an error occurred. Check that your computer meets the system requirements on the packaging of the product. Restart your computer and try running the installer again. If this error occurs again, see Help on the customer support options. (Error code 1603)
    ---------------------------
    Ok
    ---------------------------

I rebooted and tried again and the same thing happens. The keyboard uses a usb port and is usable, but special keys do not work. If I plug it into a different usb port, Vista tries to find a driver, and the keyboard is unusable at this point. I tried to disable the antivirus without result.

There is a file with the Setup file reading, and it does not list the potential problems of error in installation, but I can't seem to do the suggested corrections. Also, the error doesn't seem to be the same.

    It is said:

When you install the software, you will get the "Unable to install a required component" message

When you install the IntelliType Pro software, you may receive a message saying that Setup could not install a required component. If Setup fails to install the following components, follow the relevant instructions:

    • MSXML. On the installation CD, go to the Prereq\MSXML folder, open the folder for your processor (32-bit or 64-bit) type and then run the MSI file.
    • The MSXML update patch. On the installation CD, go to the Prereq\MSXML folder, open the folder for your processor (32-bit or 64-bit) type and then run the EXE file.
    • Windows Application Error Reporting. On the installation CD, go to the Prereq\Watson folder, open the folder for your processor (32-bit or 64-bit) type and then run the MSI file.
    • Windows install. On the installation CD, go to the Prereq\WindowsInstaller3.1v2\x86 folder, and then run the EXE file.

If you still receive an error, you may have a problem with the component itself that you must resolve before you can install the software for your device. For more information, seehttp://support.microsoft.com .

Any of the listed here seem to apply to what I saw the hand.

Oh, I don't have the original CD, I thought (wrongly) I could just download the updated software if I needed to.

    Any ideas?

    Hello

Means that the error 1603 ERROR_INSTALL_FAILURE.

Step 1: update MSXML can also be downloaded via windows update.

So I suggest to update your computer via windows update, then reinstall the drivers.

    (a) disconnect the device from the computer.

    (b) cut the power to the device, if the device has a separate power supply.

    (c) open Device Manager. To do this, use one of the following methods:

    (d) click Start, type of aircraft in the area start search and then click on Device Manager in the list programs. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on allow.

    (e) double-click keyboard, right-click on the keyboard you are using, and then click on uninstall.

Note: If your device is not listed, it means that the device was removed automatically when you disconnected the device. Go to the next step.

    (f) restart the computer.

    (g) first, turn on the device, if you have to and then connect the device to the computer. Your computer detects the device and then reinstall the drivers for the device.

    Hi Grosher,

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site!

    1. from when are you facing this problem?

    2. is the keyboard and the mouse does not?

    Try the following methods.

    Method 1

Resynchronize your device with the receiver

    1. Press the button on the receiver and check that the light on the receiver starts flashing.
    2. If a dialog box appears on the screen in seconds, follow the instructions that appear on the screen. Otherwise, continue to the next step.
    3. Press and release the Connect Channel button on the bottom of the mouse or the keyboard.
    4. Check the green light on the receiver. A continuous green light means that the synchronization was successful. If the problem persists, repeat steps 1 to 4.
    5. For the Wireless Notebook Mouse: this issue can occur if the micro-switch on the bottom of the mouse is not released. Use a PIN or pen to try to release the button, if it is pressed.

    Method 2

    un) try different ports

To determine if the problem is related to the ports on the computer, use only the two cables provided with the wireless desktop receiver or the cable that is provided with a mouse.

    b) USB keyboard and USB mouse

If the USB cable is connected to a USB hub, disconnect the device from the hub, and then plug it into a USB port on the computer. If your device is already connected to a USB port on the computer, try to connect the device to a different USB port if available.

    c) try the keyboard and the mouse on another computer

    d) change the batteries

    e) to recharge the batteries

    Method 3

Reinsert the batteries or install fresh batteries

Both the wireless keyboard and the wireless mouse rely on AA alkaline batteries for power. Remove the batteries and then insert them again. If the problem persists, install a new set of batteries in the unit that you have problems with.

    Method 4

Install the latest version of the software

If you are troubleshooting a wireless mouse, download and install the latest version of the Microsoft IntelliPoint software. For more information about IntelliPoint software, see the Microsoft Web site at the following address:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/hardware/download/DownloadResult.aspx?category=MK&type=trackball&name=t_to15&OS=WVista_32&lang=en (http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/download/DownloadResult.aspx?category=MK&type=Trackball&name=t_to15&os=WVista_32&lang=en)

If you are troubleshooting a wireless keyboard, download and install the latest version of the Microsoft IntelliType software. For more information about IntelliType software, visit the Microsoft Web site at the following address:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/hardware/download/DownloadResult.aspx?category=MK&type=trackball&name=t_to15&OS=WVista_32&lang=en

    Method 5

    Manually reinstalling drivers

To remove and reinstall the drivers, follow these steps:

    1. Disconnect the device from the computer.
    2. Cut the power to the device, if the device has a separate power supply.
    3. Open the Device Manager. To do this, use one of the following methods:
      • In Windows Vista, click on start toreduce this includes this image, type device in the Search box, and then click Device Manager in the programs list. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click allow.
      • In Windows XP, click Start, click run, type devmgmt.mscand then click OK.
    4. Double-click keyboard, right-click on the keyboard you are using, and then click Uninstall.

Note If your device is not listed, this means that the device has been deleted automatically when you disconnected the device. Go to the next step.

    5. Restart the computer.
    6. Once again the power supply, if you have to and then connect the device to the computer. Your computer detects the device and then reinstall the drivers for the device.

I just upgraded my MS Comfort Curve 2000 to a Logitech G11 keyboard. Multimedia keys work correctly with Intellitype Pro 7 is installed, but I need this more. Have installed the Logitech software but when I remove ITP 7 on my G11 multimedia keys stop working. I tried several times and they won't work with ITP 7 deleted.

  • 4000 intellitype pro keyboard has stopped working

  • Microsoft Natural Keyboard 4000 keyboard shortcuts accidentally mapped on arrow keys and ordinary letter

My natural 4000 keyboard started acting yesterday: C key starts my web browser, the left arrow button toggles the current window and exit mode full-screen, the down arrow key opens the console of "developer tools" on my browser (both for Chrome as Firefox), and the right arrow key opens the context menu for the active window (i.e. the window that opens when I right click on the window). These all correspond to the functions in the shortcut bar upper keyboard of my keyboard, which still works as usual.

I don't know how it happened - running Win7 Pro 64-bit and the problem occurred after that I have spammed the letter keys while running an emulator (Mednafen - http://mednafen.sourceforge.net/) to find out how to open a menu.

I managed to turn off most of my shortcut keys, after that some of the problems have been resolved (for example, I disabled the Web/Home hot key and now my C key opens is no longer the web browser either), but I can't to remap the arrow keys, which makes the text written in a quite heavy browser (I now use the mouse instead of the arrows).

More information on my system: I use a Logitech Anywhere MX mouse with Logitech Unifying receiver plugged on one of the USB ports on my PC.

I tried to uninstall my device keyboard drivers reinstall and uninstall my mouse device drivers and restart my PC with the system detached Logitech receiver. Had no effect.

Any advice as to how I might solve this problem? I'm a bit puzzled and considering retirement finally my Natural Keyboard keyboard (although I'd rather sad having to do) if I can't find a solution.

    Hi, Ahmed.

This problem may occur if there is a problem with the USB connection on your computer. This problem can also occur if a third-party keyboard control utility is running on your computer. This problem occurs because the analysis codes issued by the keyboard are interpreted differently by each keyboard control utility. It can also be due to having default unexpected or redefined for keys program assignments. Many of the default assignments require that you have installed a program in particular, or you are using an e-mail program supported, Internet browser or media player.

find it hard to imagine that Apple could sell these defective products.

If the seller is an authorized Apple reseller, an independent company,

You may need to ask you if you could see & try a different product sample

because you might be looking at something that has a defect.

{According to the related help page, Type position should be more

    stable to use. However if the keyboard is not flat, this sounds like default.}

Sounds as if you're not at the official Apple Store (apple retailer)

but, on the contrary, are somewhere else. Could you give more information?

Some keyboard accessories are made by third party companies; so

If the product has an Apple product model number, we note here.

When considering the purchase of an accessory, it's a good idea to test

and check in the store before you buy. An official Apple Store has

a different return policy as an independent reseller of Apple.

Don't know if I can be useful; These chat rooms are usually Apple

users of products such as yourself, who have taken their unpaid time

to see if they can help the other users of the product.

    Good luck...!

  • Microsoft Sidewinder x 4 keyboard and program Microsoft Keyboard in Vista

I just connected a Microsoft Sidewinder x 4 keyboard in Vista after installing Intellitype 7.1.  The Microsoft Keyboard program continues to show an old "Wireless Desktop Elite Keyboard' as a default. I changed the Sidewinder keyboard, but as soon as I click OK in the Microsoft Keyboard window, it restores the old wireless keyboard (is no longer attached) when I opened the window. I uninstalled all the keyboards in the Device Manager and rebooted Vista.  I have also uninstalled and reinstalled Intellitype with no luck. Can someone help? Thank you.

Yep, a clean install would do :-)

A test, I plugged my X 4 my laptop Win7. He found as a "composite input device", but the bank lights do not come, so I guess that it relies on the software to make them work. I didn't install Intellitype, so I still think there is a problem with the installation of the software on your computer. You can download and install Revo Uninstaller, I have mentioned earlier, it allows to eliminate all traces of Intellitype, reboot, and reinstall. I think that even without the software installed, there will be always an HID input device listed in Device Manager, but not two. If I had the PC here, I would like to try it, but I'm in no hurry for the time or anything since I am retired :-)
