8.1 recovery error win

Hello!

I'm migrating a spinning disk to a SDS in my HP laptop. I created a USB stick with Ms Windows 8.1 rescure 64-bit and swapped disks. Start on the USB worked like a charm, and the HP Recovery Manager began. I chose the resumption of the factory, and started the recovery process. After you deploy the files on the SSD, the process is stopped with a warning:

Calendar: FactoryUpdate

Error: Incorrect brand name

Next step: Please check laptop model or feature via EEPROM bytes

Clues about what has happened here? The laptop has the new firmware and works very well with the original disc of spinning...

Kind regards

Rune

Hello! I gave up and installed a fresh Windows 10 64-bit. The disadvantage with this, no longer to have a recovery partition. The installation has been enabled automatically (something stored in the BIOS/UEFI), so I'm glad for now ;-)

Kind regards

Rune

I have 2 hp pavillion sleekbook model 14-b017cl'. I replaced the hard drive in my son after that she doesn't have the "optimized hard drive dst test '. I used my sleekbook work to create a USB stick recovery. I followed the instructions to use the recovery to Win 8 usb drive. When I started the laptop of my son, with the USB stick inserted, I got this message.

PXE - m0f: exit pxe rom

no bootable device-insert bootdisk and press a key

Flash player Flash when I put under tension. I rebooted, you press F2, conducted an audit on the new hard drive, happened.

Later, I inserted the recovery key in my laptop (that I used to create it) and it would not initialize to top. I checked the content to the flash drive and they seemed "Chargers", so it seems to be what I expected. It seems that the recovery USB STICK will not work if my own laptop dies. What I have to buy the HP flash drive, or I'm doing something wrong.

    Hi @gretschman7,

    Thank you for your query.

I understand you are trying to perform a recovery from a USB flash drive, but you get the error "pxe - m0f: exit pxe rom.

"no bootable device-insert bootdisk and press any".  You check the recovery media on your laptop as it is the same model and it seems fine.

Looks like you may need to change the boot sequence. Here is a link to HP - performing a recovery system (Windows 8) HP computers that will help you.   Here is a link to a YouTube video which can also help:.  Performing a recovery of HP system on a laptop HP with Windows 8.

hellohow can I boot my pc with USB {flash recovery}? Win 7 64 bit HP omni 100-pc5120

    Thank you.

Start the PC and read the information on the Welcome screen.

It should tell you which key press to the start menu.

On Dell PCs it's F12 on my HP business overall it's F9 of the PC.

Otherwise, press the F10 key, go into the BIOS and change the boot menu to boot from the USB device first.

  • Recovery disks won't be finished reinstalling attract the Windows recovery error

I have a HP pc only to return some malware a few weeks. Tried to remove it and restart got the Startup Repair. Who ran, but received a message that the problem could not be resolved automatically. Tried several times but without success.

Then I tried the system restore, which seemed to work. It should restart the process and I got a screen that says Windows Recovery error. Gave me a few options but also safe mode start Windows normally. If so start normally, just screen becomes black and hangs there. I tried in safe mode, a list of drivers starts, then stops at crcdisk.sys and I get a box that says that I can't get into safe mode because Windows has not finished the installation.

Then I tried the HP recovery disks to restore the factory settings. Crossed reinstall it without problems and clicked on Finish to reboot and continue. It goes through the process some, restarts a few times and the final reboot immediately comes the same Windows error recovery screen. I tried several times and made sure the only cool things are the monitor, the keyboard, the mouse and the cord. I also tried to remove one of the memory two sticks and the sound card that is not the original. Memory sticks are original.

I thought it was the failure of hard drive and bought a new one last nite and was installed. Ran the recovery disks appeared once again, as he worked but got the same error Windows Recovery screen after a reboot.

Any ideas of what I can do? I can't go in safe mode at all.

    Thank you!

Edit - I forgot to mention that I have managed to get into the manufacturers menu and delete the original hard drive and tried to do the reinstall, but got the same error.

Fixed it got! Found the answer in another thread here. It's a problem witht Nvidia Geforce card I have and the DVI output. Think an update or something hit malware but all I had to do was remove the video card, plug a VGA instead of DVI cable and I was able to complete reinstall it! Everything works except the sound now. Trying to get that fixed and reinstall the video card later today.

  • Windows Recovery error screen: cannot get my computer to start!

After using my computer for a long period of time, I set it down for a few hours. When I put it up again, the screen was blank and I couldn't get out of hibernation. I manually turned off and restarted. Reboot, I had the Windows recovery error screen, where I was given the opportunity to 'launch Startup Repair' or 'start windows normally '. At the launch of the repair, the screen empties for a few seconds and returns to the error page. When you try to start windows normally, the system rebooted and returned to the error page. I did nothing durastic which would result in this error. Windows was preinstalled and came with any disks. How can I fix my computer and recover my files? My computer is a laptop Gateway MD.

Have you tried from disk running of all of the above programs.  Of course, some of them managed from the disk as the Startup Repair and system restore.  Others such as SFC and chkdsk or event viewer can be run from the disk by using the command line option (and instructions above on orders to enter).

Startup Repair and system restore has nothing to help?  Try these other options from the command prompt on the drive if you can't even in Mode safe (which is not a good sign).

    Good luck!

    Hello

This process will allow you to do a Vista repair disc. This isn't an installation disc, but will allow you to use the Vista Recovery Console that is available on commercial versions of Vista.

Download the file from the link below.

    Vista 64-bit

It is a zipped file.  If you do not have an extraction utility installed, download and install 7-Zip, when installed, right-click on the zipped folder, select extract files and then click Ok.  You should now see another folder containing the ISO file.

You will need software to burn the ISO to a CD.  If you don't have that guy on the software installed, download and install ImgBurn and use it to burn the ISO to a CD.

Once you have created the Vista repair disk, follow the guide on the link below to see if it undertakes to repair your installation - you may need to run this several times.

  • If I get the dvd of recovery to win s 7 of the manufacturer, what problems is I meet when I try to boot from a usb dvd player

    Separated from this thread.

OK here is what I was asking.  If I get the dvd of recovery to win s 7 of the manufacturer, what problems I will get when I try to boot from a usb dvd player.  I worry because my computer is uefi firmware. should I disable secure boot, make sure the dvd usb drive first in the boot order.  What other bios setting I would be worried.

You will get a facility better if you find the ISO to create such media as discussed in step 1 of the clean reinstall Windows 7 follow these steps to get the best possible installation.  You can even create flash media if that's easier for you.

Regard to Recov disks that reinstall all the bloatware factory, Yes, you must disable Secure Boot in firmware that doesn't support UEFI to install Windows 7, and then start the media as a UEFI device.

After installation, you can pick up some performance and optimize the installation by following Clean Up Factory Bloatware .

You can also do a Clean install Windows 10 improvement using the Windows 7 product key, as this is explained in this link.   You can at any time change to Windows 7, even move back and forth until only is installed at the same time.

Let us know if there are any questions and how it goes.

Your post shows your PC than the execution of win10, but it comes preinstalled with Win8x.  This means that at some point, you've done setting at Win10 level, and unfortunately, that corrupts the information of HP recovery: HP Recovery Manager blocked after Windows 10 Upgrade - HP Support Forum's - 5170752

Once you do this upgrade, the ONLY way to perform a recovery after that use HP recovery media.

Ordinarily, I advise to use HP recovery media to restore your PC to its original state. That would erase the entire disk, format the drive and install the operating system, drivers and utilities HP.

Unfortunately, there is no support of HP recovery related to HP for your PC Product Page. This could be an oversight by HP, or it could also mean that HP stock is no longer the recovery media for your PC.

You can try to contact the HP customer directly, using the links below, to see if you can order them if:

If you live in the United States or the Canada, details are on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/phone-assist.html#section1

If you live elsewhere, contact details are on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html

NOTE: once you get through, stay on the line until you are finally able to talk to someone ' one - it can take a while!

    ---------------------------------------
However, HP customer care is generally not available on weekends, so you will have to wait until Monday to contact them.

A question: did you create recovery media and try to install the recovery DVD or USB recovery image?

In my opinion you shouldn't change anything. I assume that your laptop is guaranteed valid so I think you should contact Toshiba service provider and ask for help. If there is a problem with the HARD drive, you should get a new one for free.

It could be other material causing the closure downwards during the test, unfortunately there is no good way to understand what it is, you may have to send in repairs or try another hard drive to see if that solves the problem.

    Hello

I tried to do HARD drive recovery. It was fine until instaliation. And after the 1% error message (1117) maybe someone knows what is a problem?

How do I recover HARD drive without errors L750-22Z?

    > How to HARD disk without errors L750-22Z recovery?
Very interesting question. If the recovery image is ok there is no reason for the message error.

Did you create the recovery disk?
If so try to install the recovery image using the recovery disk.
