  I try to load a .cod from SD card file, save it as a code module and get the descriptors to the application.

• SecurityException when calling Connector.open)

  I develop a client application that uses the REST API of the application of corresponding server, which is built by our company.

  We are targeting devices with software system 4.5 and upward, but we can give up to 4.5 in the near future and 4.6 making the new lower limit. Currently, dropping support for anything below 5.0 altogether is not an opption for us as we are invited to support devices that are actually used.

  Therefore, I am building with the SDK version 4.5.0.28, but I also tried with 4.6.0.23 and got the same results.

  The current REST API of our application server using GET, POST, and DELETE requests, so I had to use SocketConnection and build my own HTTP management code to implement the DELETE method.

  There are different instances of the application server (tests, staging, production) with different names, but in the case of normal use from the end user perspective the app would stick with a host. That's why I designed the code that handles the application permissions associated with access to the network, to ask permission to access the host currently configured (-> getPermission (authorization, domainname)).

  Until now, I used mostly a host for testing. I went once the host when I had to use a host with a new version of the application server. Despite the carrier/network related issues I never had a problem to access hosts.

  But now, while testing the new code I suddenly unexpected trouble.

  At one point, I changed the hostname to use a different server host and since then, I get a SecurityException exception as soon as Connector.open () for a https URL is called. I get it even after changing to the previous host name. The chain of reason is simply "Permission denied."

  I checked that day:

  • This isn't a ControlledAccessException. I checked them both, but only SecurityException caught.
  • The ApplicationPermission API returns true when I check the permissions. The permissions are checked at startup and permissions request dialog box is shown if they are not appropriate. They are also checked before trying to access the network via a specific transport.
  • The firewall seems not to be bound: this Exception is raised, that the firewall is disabled.
  • I'm testing with a Bold 9000 and the software version 4.6 and a Torch 9800 with version 6.0 of the software. The bold is connected to a BES and COMPUTING strategies do not allow me to disable the firewall. The torch is "autonomous" and the firewall is disabled by default.
  • I tried it with a torch Simulator and found that it will work when I disable 'security '. The Exception is also thrown in the simulator when turn on (and running the signed application).
  • I compared the files *.csl of previous generations with the current generation and not found any missing entries.
  • I changed my code to request permissions to access the network without limiting it to a specific domain.
  • I deleted the app on devices and installed again - and still get the same result.

  I find it rather suspicious, I don't get the usual "application to establish an https connection" dialogue when I use the https URL.

  I actually get the similar dialog box when I change the code to use the SocketConnection to GET using a ssl URL. Access to the network works even in this case, but my implementation of HTTP is still too rudimentary to be useful in this case.

  So my question is: what can trigger this SecurityException? Which component actually don't "deny permission?

  And can be linked: is permission to access a specific server via http/https or ssl/socket stored somewhere on the device so that it will survive even the corresponding application uninstalling?

  I'm looking in the wrong way and there is something else going on here?

  I'd appreciate any help to get this case closed.

  I mainly use the Desktop Manager to deploy the application during the tests. But some of my "Beta-testers" get via OTA.

  But I found the true cause yesterday: due to some changes in another place, I got the schema uppercase names when creating the connection URL.

  Unfortunately, this "SecurityException: Permission denied" message points to the real problem, that's why I was looking in the wrong places.

  Why not throw an IllegalArgumentException instead? Accepting names uppercase regime would be another option, because this is the behavior recommended by the corresponding RFC. (Ok, the RFC also States that a client must use the lowercase schema names, so this would again direct the question to me. But then again - a correct description of the true cause would help a lot...)

  After all I found in this bug-hunting that HttpConnection actually doesn't accept 'REMOVE' even with the SDKs for 4.5 and 4.6. At least enough that it works for my use case. So my own SocketConnection based HTTP application is not really necessary after all...

  Is there a way for the BES to say my request that the default settings to use? Now, after loading my application a few textbox fields to be filled in before anything else happens, and I want load the default settings/text of the BES on blackberry. Each BES that will use the application will have different values by default, so hard-code in the application is not an option.

  I hope that this is possible before the BES can publish/push demand for blackberries.

  You can put custom elements to your TI-policy, aski your admin bes on the details.
  The ITPolicy class allows easy access to these elements with Integer, String, Boolean, Byte, and Bytearray being supported.
  I have successfully used this mechanism on a couple of apps.

  Concern: I'm targeting the people in big organization, I fear that their COMPUTER strategies cannot allow to install third-party applications via browser? Their COMPUTER strategies don't allow third-party applications to connect to the internet?

  What is the standard practice for such applications? I can't find someone mention this issue everywhere in books or documents.

  I scoured the forums and can't seem to find a situation like mine, so that's.  I will try to be as accurate as possible.  I have a 8100 Pearl who is suddenly not spend or receive phone calls.  I did some 'new' things today with him then maybe one of them triggered it.

  I tried to connect my Pearl to my computer with a USB cable to access a few pictures on it for the first time today.  I realized that I didn't have a media card, so I thought that I could access it in the Desktop Manager, but unfortunately my computer does not recognize that I had plugged my Pearl.  He did, however, continue to make those computers grateful noises do when a disc is inserted and removed.  The noises that happened over and over again.  Then, the best part: my computer screen went blue and said (I don't remember Word for Word) there was a kind of "software bug" we found who was related to the BlackBerry device and had to do a memory dump.  The computer fine and somehow, nothing is lost.

  I only did texts on my phone today so I have no way of knowing if I had the ability to the appellant when I woke up this morning.  I had call capacity last night, however.  A friend tried to call me and texted me that he kept getting an "error message" whenever it did, at the moment, I can still send and receive texts.  When I try to make a call about 2 seconds ago from this light, background noise of static-y connection, then it disconnects; I get no messages telling me that there was an error or anything else.  He ran an analysis of security a few times after that I put the battery and card SIM that doesn't happen when I turn on my phone normally, so I don't know if this is notable or if this happens usually when the card or the battery came out and replaced.

  I seem to not have adequate (3 bars), there is no red "SOS" on the screen and the wireless is turned on.  When I got the phone I had the problem with "SOS" signal, but have not had anything since then; It has been a few years since that happened.

  I have removed and reinserted my SIM card, removed my battery for 30 seconds and reinserted and tried to go through the menu 'Options' to try to discern if it is not apparent that I turned off or on low (I had no idea what I was doing).  I'm at the point where I am ready to start sacrificing things to the gods of BlackBerry to get my calls abilities restored, so if there is someone who can offer me a solution less violent I would be very happy.  Also, if you have an idea about what happened with my Blue's computer that's cool too, but I'm more concerned about the problem by calling.

  Since you have already reset your handset to reinsert the battery.  I would first of all to distinguish whether it's your card SIM or Blackberry problem.

  You can put your Blackberry SIM in another phone, for example Nokia, to ensure you can make and receive calls to exclude, it is a card sim or network problem.  If you can not make calls on your Nokia phone, simply contact your carrier to find out why, could be they banned your access or sim error of voice call.

• Continuing to malware / adware problem

  I have finally upgraded to El Capitan at last week. I had no problem until today when I downloaded a new Java Update, which I think may have also installed some sort of adware / malware on my system. Since the installation of new advertising tabs open (on both Firefox and Safari) when I click on some normal links on some sites. I also see underlined green links ad on some pages.

  I tried all the tips I can find online, including of Malwarebytes, Avast, reinstall browsers, try a new user, follow the instructions to remove "DownLite" etc. I also checked the LaunchAgent and LaunchDaemons folders in my library, and they seem to be something unusual.

  Any help with this would be much appreciated because it becomes extremely frustrating Apple have advised me to reinstall OS X, but I would try other options first as it may seem a bit drastic!

  I acquired Trovi there about a week. He quickly infected Firefox, Chrome and Safari. I ran Adware Medic who has cost to move the files to the trash and empty the trash. Always present. I then got doctor Adware and MalwareBytes Anti-Malware, down them with no fix.   Gold mine was still active. I remove drive x, Trovi was still active. Removing Firefox and Chrome in the hope that their infection was causing problems for Safari. Safari still has Trovi.

  Symptoms in Safari. Trying to extensions appear in the window of the browser generates an empty list. If something other than trovi homepage work temporarily, but after one or two reboots trovi reappear as homepage, if I put it so that the start-up and the new tab pages are empty after a little window to close and then reappear with trovi appearing in the home page and start and new tabs configured to display the home page. Disabling Javascript blocks ads, but makes other impossible things and nothing to avoid trovi made the homepage.
