Activation lost due to power failure

Separated from this thread.

need a key code for windows 7... had a power failure.

A power failure should not affect the activation of Windows 7 or require a product key which you must already have.

Have you tried to restart by phone?

How to activate Windows 7 manually (activate by phone)

1) click Start and in the search for box type: slui.exe 4

(2) press the ENTER"" key.

(3) select your "country" in the list.

(4) choose the option "activate phone".

(5) stay on the phone (do not select/press all options) and wait for a person to help you with the activation.

(6) explain your problem clearly to the support person.

  • How to wake up a T42 - after power failure.

I just changed to a T42 as a home automation web application server in a vacation home that is unoccupied for weeks and months.  I'm gone with a Thinkpad retired because the processor running at 40 degrees Centrigrade with its fan-Off in our cool basement unless there is some computer activity... hoping the Thinkpad would unnattended for years in this quiet situation with the HDD as the only moving part.

When the power goes out, I have an inverter for 2 hours, plus the Thinkpad battery for 4-5 hours (off screen), but then it stops with an extended power failure.  We cannot go back to this place for months to re - turn on the computer.

The bios settings on T42 for "Startup Timed" do not work for me or anyone else I saw on the Thinkpad forums.

Or, using the Task Scheduler with the "wake the computer" option when you run an application (such as the calculator or Notepad) do not wake the T42 from sleep mode. (The laptop could go to sleep when the battery reaches 50%)... then having the scheduler run Notepad all morning at the cases where the computer is in standby due to a power failure in the course of 24 hours prior... but it does not work.

Is there another way to start or wake a T42 on a calendar or a network drive?   I didn't "want to solder connections in the power switch - although if it is possible if I could use a phone remote access to the automation system to turn on the computer with a closing contact, but his disorder at."

After testing, I switch to Windows 7 Pro. The T42 can going mode sleep after x minutes on battery. It can be awakened by running a lazy batch file by using the Windows Task Scheduler.

    Thanks for your suggestion

  • No sound on Satellite a series after power failure

I had power failure and displays now the peripheral output put no audio.

I have tried the drivers but not find.

    Any help please

    Is what model? PSA? -??????

The audio chip may have been damaged due to advanced/power surge, requiring a motherboard replacement.

Search for C:\TOSAPINS audio driver or download the driver here http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp

You can also try a fresh install of windows. back up your data and run recovery now zero for the market. If the audio still does not work, then its most likely a hardware problem.

Also update the BIOS, but I doubt that would help.

  • Computers that are affected by a power failure

Last night while I was watching TV, the power went out just for a few seconds, then she came back. I don't think anything of it, but, when I went to use my computer the next morning, he was sounding like a war was going on inside. The only thing I forgot to mention, is that I don't always close my computer before going to withdraw during the night, while he was at the time of the failure. Something does not look good and he echoes and I can tell by the power button it seemed that it was not a fixed light, it vibrated. I just hope that it is something that can be fixed. The thing is, I intentionally used these power strips that the electricity company gave to those who wanted to conserve energy, and also I thought it was protected power strips. Now, if someone can tell me if there is a chance that this computer can be repaired and not corrupt, and the ability to fix it myself, maybe? I am at a loss without my computer, and the possibility to buy another is out of the question because I am on disability and I have no savings. Please, if anyone can help me with this one, I'll be very grateful. If there is an organization that provides computers to people in need, it would also be a blessing, or a place or a person who fixes them for a fraction of what the prosecution remains. Thank you, Christina

Before you start worrying too or attempt to make any kind of troubleshooting, you should consider that the most common result of a power failure while a computer is turned on is nothing.

This is particularly the case when the computer has not been used for awhile before the power failure.  It sounds like your case: you were in front of the TV and not to use the computer.  Depending on the configuration of your computer to the top, it's probably in standby or, at most, just sitting and idling.

As a general rule, when a computer is not actually in the Middle using the hard drive, the most that will happen after a power failure is when the computer is next turned on, you will see a message that 'Windows was not properly shut down' and we'll give you a few options.  The option to choose from at the point is to 'start Windows normally.'

After writing all this, please answer the following questions:

    1. When you first went to your computer the next morning, he was turned on or off?
    2. If it was turned off, what happened when you the activated?
    3. If it was on, click the Start button and turn the computer off (Shut down).  Wait for 2 minutes and turn it back on.
      • What is going on?
      • Windows comes up normally?
      • The computer always made strange noises?
        • If so, are the sounds of speakers or mechanical noises from inside the computer?
    4. What is the brand and model of the computer?

If the computer is mechanical noises (I'm not sure what you mean by "sounds like a war was going on inside"), your best course of action is to turn off and take it to a computer repair shop local independent (not a chain of stores).  Too little likely, a fan — or worse, your hard drive - could have been damaged.

Oh, and these power strips - insofar as they work - prevent power surges ' "(surge), no power failures.

  • So, my computer has a virus moneypak and ontop of the said virus pro safety. And I can't download any anti-virus scan malware to get rid of them due to my failure of security scanning.

So, my computer has a virus moneypak and ontop of the said virus pro safety. And I can't download any anti-virus scan malware to get rid of them due to my failure of security scanning. So I went to check on my Microsoft Security databases to see what is happening, and it will not even open! Whenever I click it, it says "You don't have the right permission to open" (my security essential has been like that for maybe a week now. and I just received today two viruses) while I try to uninstall, but it won't allow me because of something not having the right to access and contact an administrator. So I can't open the MSE, can't uninstall it, can not download any virus anti-malware to get rid of the moneypak and pro. I'm so lost, please any suggestion on what I can do to fix my computer would be greatly appreciated!

  • VMTMS not showing running, not installed, VM TCS after power failure by giving two fake ips

    Nice day

In fact, we had a power failure at our DC and after restarting servers, 2 of them you have the problem.

UCS after the beginning of the VMTMS v 14.4.2 showing in summary "does not installed ' and no Ping able.but I can access Internet by IP however.

TCS giving 2 Fake ips also.

I just checked our vTCS, it shows only a single IP address.  If the server has more than one virtual nicinstalled, you can probably remove the sound that shouldn't be there.  Although I'm not a VMWare administrator, so I can't say for sure, comparing what has my TCS.

Note: Your question would be better in the telepresence of the forums section, where these devices are discussed more actively and people can help you get the answers you need.  You can move your question to the appropriate section by editing and modifying the categories at the bottom.

  • Reference Dell R710 does not start after power failure

Hello, I tried to find answers on the forum but nothing so far

I have this R710 at home that I use as a media server, it was working fine before a power outage the other night (no I don't have a UPS :-(

When the power returned, I noticed one of lighting power supply has been turned off, so I took it out of the unit, but the unit still won't turn.

I still have a so-called good food because the small green LED on the motherboard lights, and I can access the iDRAC, this feature, I didn't before the net Searchin' for answers, I'm kind of a novice with the servers.

When I access the iDRAC, on the power supply page, I see nothing, no power supply listed.

Is it possible that a diet might be "half bad", enough to work the emergency circuits but not the power outlet?

    Symptoms:

    Camera lights.

Can access the functions of the Idrac, but doesn't do anything if I try to activate it via the tasks "quick launch".

Power supplies are not visible on the pages of the Idrac.

    Display before work.

Server was very well just before a power failure which took one of the PSU

The remaining 870 PSU has the green light on, and the fan works for 2 seconds every time I cut the power it.

    Thanks for any help.

    OK, well... no answers.

I found a place locally that sold a diet so I arrived with my server, I told them I would buy the power supply that I confirm that the fault was in fact the power supply.

Well, you know, the unit started correctly with the new power supply, now in IDRAC, I see both power supplies but on that faulty, he reads "present, entry lost.

So the answer is YES, a power supply may be defective, even if the green light is on.

  • Power failure recovery

To be clear from the outset, it is a theoretical situation - I don't currently have a blackout

However, we had a power failure several months ago.  I'm still very new to vmware.  We have a 3 host cluster and I couldn't connect to my vcenter server because it has not put on automatically, so what I learned me I needed to connect with individual guests until I found the one that housed my vcenter server.  Once I had that on, I was fine.

Fast forward to no - I tried to document this process for future use and finds it difficult to connect to a host in the cluster.  I don't know if it's just identifying information issues (I've tried everything I know, and of course, at some point, I knew what it was) or if the cluster is up and functioning normally, if I am unable to connect to a host.  Basically I don't want any of this to go down in the future and discover that I don't know what are the credentials.  We use our creds field but I understand that those who are not what you will use on a host.

It is for you to decide whether to configure ESXi hosts for integration of ads. However, in most cases vCenter Server is added to a domain, and the hosts are autonomous machines, i.e. to use the "root" user to log on if necessary. If this is not possible, "Lockdown" Mode can be activated for guests!

  • I have problems to restart of Yosemite, after power failure during the new backup, and now HD is also blocked.

I have problems to restart of Yosemite, after power failure during the new backup, and now HD is also blocked.

I tried the holding of 'command-r' and 'option' to see if the problem can be resolved or try any boot from a boot disk, my old backup, USB function start - but after a slow long process it all just stops.

There is software on my HD that I don't want to lose by simply reformatting the computer, because I am now in a different country, far from my house, which is another problem of the Apple Store, to reinstall my OS from Yosemite on the www.

Your best bet is an accumulator.  I have one I got on Amazon by EC Tech.  It is a brick, but it will charge my iPhone and the iPad, if the current is cut off.  You just need to load the brick and keep it in an emergency.

    Hi people.

I want the apps that were open when occurs a power failure would not open during the recovery.

In the Apple Menu, select "restart." A window will appear as shown below. Clear to re - open the windows when you log in. You can now cancel the reboot, unless you want to check that the system works as you would when you restart.
