  How can I add processors in ESXi?  I have a quad-core processor, but once I allowed my server, it only allows me to use two now.  I guess I need another button, or buy some add-on?  I use ESX Server 3i, 3.5.0 123629.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  I'm in love with this product!

  When you restart the server, you should see an option to create a matrix of storage before the ESXi begins to start up (this option is available for almost all servers and appears between POST process and startup). Select the option and create a RAID 0 array on second HARD drive. Start the ESXi server after that. You have to be sure that the second HDD is not in use or it will be formatted.

  When the ESXi has started, go to Configuration-> Storage-> rescan all. After the news of the analysis is complete, go to storage add and you should see the table that you just created. After you have added storage, it will be visible as a the ESXi data store.

  Found the problem as vCenter 6.0 version I was running. I was running an older version of the VC and the current version of ESXi.
  Downloaded the current version and reinstalled and all good.

• Cisco UCS 5108 add NIC to ESXi host

  I have a Dell 2950 quad-dual core.  I have an array of RAID 10 6 2 TB SATA drives.  When I installed ESXi, he created a single data store of 1.45 TB.

  I just install a virtual machine using ESX 3.5. I installed CentOS 5.3 as a virtual machine on a 80 GB drive. I have another drive that I was using as a 500 GB storage drive. I want to add this disk to my linux VM and share file-sharing.

  How can I get my VM linux to recognize this drive?

  For standard construction, I would always block size of 8 MB to support 2 TB in which case you will need to press a file server that the big and you have another option to virtualize storage 500 GB time formatted with VMFS and load Openfiler, Starwind, Datacore SANMelody or FreeNAS in his own virtual SAN appliance that support the two NFS/iSCSI as well.  Otherwise, as told to add the drive to the host for extra VMFS datastore, or you can use scopes, but not recommended in production.
