  • Is Advanced SystemCare 5 pro safe and effective?

I heard of the CSA. But I'm not sure that it is safe.

Advanced System Care is known to remove or damage critical windows system files causing installation show as non-genuine. Sometimes requiring a reinstallation complete and everything that this implies.

In my opinion, all registry cleaners are snake oil and are more likely to harm than to fix anything.
  • Advanced systemcare cannot continue to operate in read-only mode.

I got this message when I went to defragment and aimed to scandisk.exe.

A registry cleaner or any third party Cleanup utility was run on your system?

You are in the habit of using "Registry cleaners" (e.g., Registry Mechanic;) System Mechanic; RegCure; RegClean Pro. Advanced SystemCare 5; Registry Booster; McAfee QuickClean. AVG PC TuneUp. Norton Registry Cleaner; PCTools optimizer; SpeedUpMyPC; Advanced System Optimizer. TuneUp Utilities; WinMaximizer; WinSweeper; Comodo System Cleaner. CCleaner,)?

Moreover, these registry cleaner programs are snake oil.

They don't help and can cause problems, so try to avoid them.

When you open the firewall applet Windows (firewall.cpl) and click on the Advanced tab, the following error message may appear:

Network connection settings have been corrupted. To resolve this problem, click default settings. This will remove all your Windows Firewall settings, and this might cause some programs to stop working.

    Resolution

  • Once I ran tool to remove unwanted files from Advanced System Care I can't run all the apps windows 8.

If I select all the apps on the app store, it seems that I click on it, and then nothing happens. If I try to run the store icon appears on the screen and then it goes back to the start screen. Help?

    (1) did you try restarting your PC? Don't forget to restart Windows 8 is not the same as stop and start again.

    (2) if it does not help, see if Advanced SystemCare provides a backup of files recently erased. If so, try to get back them.

You also use the registry cleaner? Registry cleaners claim to boost the overall performance, but they create more problems than the good they do. I used to use these tools to improve the performance of my PC, but I always ended up having more trouble. Now I occasionally use CCleaner with too much caution when cleaning the registry. Windows 8 provides integrated automatic maintenance that works almost every day when your PC is idle. Additional software is not necessary.

    (3) Finally, if the first two options do not work, try "refreshing" your system. Move at a right angle to display the sidebar. Click on 'Settings' and then 'change PC settings. " Under the group "Général" find 'Refresh your PC without affecting your files' and click on 'Get started '. Note that this will remove your installed programs, but will not affect personal files and modern applications.

  • research and new tabs take up yahoo no matter what I do in the options

No matter what I do, the search engines in the toolbar by default return Yahoo! Remove all but Google does not help. When you restart Firefox Yahoo is the default value. Similarly, new tabs and the home page back to Yahoo after the reopening. This is a new laptop HP with Windows 10 and I just downloaded Firefox. I spent a lot of time trying to solve this problem and about to give up and to switch browsers. I bet that Chrome will allow me to use Google.

Generally, changes in parameters are retained between reboots. If you change other preferences such as your home page, Firefox manages to retain those between reboots?

We have an article of general support on issues that may lead to changes to get lost between sessions: How to fix preferences that will not save.

    Two other thoughts:

    (1) some software utility/security/life private changes the folder of Firefox settings between sessions. This includes Advanced SystemCare and various programs 'homepage protection' or "browsing protection" feature. If you have any software with a similar feature, disable it until everything is set as you want and stable.

    (2) you might check all the extensions that could possibly change the settings when you start Firefox. You can do this on the page modules. Either:

    • CTRL + SHIFT + a
    • "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Extensions. Then, take a critical look on the list on the right side. On a new installation, it is usually empty, unless Firefox has detected the extensions that already exist on your system. Something unexpected?

  • AVG2015 keeps blocking the file prefs.js because of "potentially be OSX/tap.

    Well, you saw the title.

Simply, this started happening yesterday evening and I don't know why because it's never happened before. I'm sure this is a false positive, but I do not know how AVG who know.

The prefs.js file is located in the "AppData/Roaming.

When AVG blocks the file, it also auto generation of the other prevents it. I have to restart my computer for FireFox generate another prefs.js... which then gets blocked for the same reasons again.

I don't know what to do at this point.

I know that uninstalling and reinstalling FireFox are my last resort I have 7 years I don't want to lose data.

Right now, I have FireFox in safe mode and still work as I left it (same bookmarks, same saved passwords, cookies do not affected, etc.). I can not just save preferences.

I hope it's just one of those random adjustments that AVG has. Otherwise, this foreshadows a more serious problem and I hope really is not the case.

Sorry for the delay. While it's important, I had other things to do.

Well, it seems that it was a false positive. After a sweep of Advance SystemCare and a reboot, AVG simply ceased to block.

I was about to publish a bunch of stuff that might help her figure this out, but now it's useless... However, after reviewing the history of detections of AVG, it turns out that this question of mine happened 2 months ago. I honestly forgot on this subject, and how I solved it, if I had nothing. I probably did the same thing I did to solve it.

So, it was a case of AVG returning a false positive. I feel much better now...

    Sorry to waste your time.

ADDENDUM: I don't know whether to mark it as resolved. For now, I'll leave it as is, if it's OK.

  • How is it my extensions keep endangered?

I install my extensions. They are always installed because I see some of them below the toolbar. But when I go to tools-> Modules-> Extensions it says I have one installed. Now if I go to the profiles folder and delete all files with the word "extensions" in the and close Firefox and reopen, he asks me if I want to reinstall all my extensions, that takes a bit of time. Then they disappear and I start the process again. And Yes, I turned off the synchronization. I'm out of ideas. I want to just install them once and have them be there day after day.

I see know you on this problem of corrupted files parameters of your thread earlier: what happened to my extensions?

Several users have reported this problem in the last days. I have no idea why all of a sudden 'going around."

Do you use any utility, protection of personal information or security software that cleans the browser settings? Examples of programs that sometimes change or replace files in the Firefox profile folders: CCleaner and Advanced SystemCare.

You can also back up files to a place safe once you have finished to approve extensions for easier restoration next time.
