    I'm trying to transfer the data to a new Tungsten E2. Done this before so easily - not this time. Can't understand why Hot Synch option choose PC to the handheld or PC organizer to option isn't gone. Fear that I deleted the data from the PC with the empty unit (new). No CD with the new device so had to use the download. (I have the CD for my old Tungsten E2).

    I have all my data on my old Tungsten E2, but will not synch until I know for sure that the data can be saved as the good (saved) profile. Read the manuals, but can not find instructions or a good keyword to search for.

    I use it as PDA don' t need and do not want Bluetooth, phone or Internet. This should be easy, but it is not! Help, please. Leave the city soon.

    So quick question here because it will determine how we proceed. Have what version of HotSync you downloaded? 4.2 or 6.2. It's pretty easy to check, just open up to Palm Desktop and chose the Help menu, and then click. The version will be on the new window that opens.

  • Satellite M40x won't start after upgrade CPU test

    I have a portable M40x I took the CPU out of it to replace it with another to test the computer started fine then I stopped and took out and put it's original return CPU, and it wouldn't start. Now it primer with any one of all the CPU. When I turn on the power, all I get is a white screen for a few seconds and the laptop is closed down. Both the CPU is good because I since tested on other computers to make sure that this was not the problem.

  • went E260 music folder

    I had this thing for a few years and it has worked fine until recently. I decided to remove all the music and essentially start over. Has also decided to update the firmware. I added a few songs (33), but now it won't add any more. I tried to synchronize with Media Monkey and Windows Media Player (which both have worked before) and now it does not work. I decided to try the method of the slide / move and there is no record of music.

    Is it possible to reformat this thing or go back to as if it was from the factory?

    Some people have had trouble with 1.02.24 and returned to 1.02.18. But instead of playing with the firmware again for now, I suggest that you format - which will get rid of all your songs - and start again transfer the music in a coherent way, do everything either MSC or MTP.

    Connect it to the MSC, find unity in workstation or computer (XP/Vista), right-click, Format... and choose FAT32, which will probably go up automatically.  Do not use Quickformat.

    This should give you a factory unit - clean with the firmware more later (1.02.24). So if you have any problems with 1.02.24, go back to 1.02.18 - purpose, you will need to do may not bother.

    I've seen many comments in this regard, but fail to find a clear solution.

    The scenario...

    My Vista Premium client is wired to a modem/router ADSL Wireless.  The customer has a second 1 TB HARD drive installed to be used only for backups.  The issue is trying to save a Vista laptop wireless using the Vista backup program in system tools.  Both computers use the same workgroup name.

    I have created a shared folder on the backup drive called "laptop".  All actions necessary and safety issues are resolved.  I can create a file on the laptop and send it in without a problem drive backup destination folder.  When you run the Vista backup program, it creates a shot and then fails on the transfer immediately complain of not being able to access the folder (which is the correct path).  I have to admit, even getting to this point has been a task.  Understand the actions, security issues and password problems.  This is clearly a problem with the backup program, and I think probably related to security issues regarding the backup authentication protocol.  There, someone has a solution, and I sure can't find it around Ms.  It's funny how W7 doesn't have this problem.

    We make the transfer of files on SAMBA between 2 windows machine.  (a Windows XP and a Win Server 2003 SP2).
    There are 4 files transferred in parallel.
    The transfer rate is about 70 MB/sec.
    Immediately we see #4 to 20% CPU and the CPU continues to increase over time up to 100%, how much the machine hangs until we have stop the transfer on the source.
    Process Explorer means that the 'SYSTEM' process is consuming the CPU.
    Kernrate indicates threads are ntkrnla.exe and hal.  Seems to be the core partner.
    Is there a known issue connecting to samba?  How to twist Win2k3 to not die?

    Macrium Reflect allows cloning. Once you have a cloned partition, you can see inside the clone and recover files and folders from it. Here is a well written tutorial from the how-to Geek on the subject.

    I have a Belkin Windows Easy Transfer cable and have used it a few times. My results with Windows Easy transfer, and that is why my preference is the use of a cloning utility instead. Macrium Reflect has never failed me, and I've used dozens of times.

    You did it of any material changes or software on the computer before this problem?

    I recommend to reset the BIOS (Basic Input Output System) and check if the problem persists. If you are not comfortable to do, you can contact the manufacturer of your computer for help.

    Note: Changing the BIOS / chipset can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/chipset can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.
