AirPlay always loses connection after 1 minute of game

I have an iMac running 10.11.6 on a wireless network to an AirPort Extreme running version 7.7.7 and two AirPort Express (both on the new firmware, 7.6.7) (most recent) expresses it are used only for listening to music in stereo amplifiers, one who plays on the patio, the other a living room to bathroom.

I had this setup for a period of two years and have had no problems with the streaming until maybe a month or two before.

Now, when I listen to the music of the iMac or express, they fine stream for about a minute, then the orange towers of AirPlay symbol indicating that the connection to the Express and playback stops on the Express.  The iMac continues to play music without problem.  I have the same problem with the loss of the connection on two breaks (usually played separately), so makes me think that there is a problem with the iMac or its software. I suspect that iTunes (12.4.3.1, updated) or something that he uses in the background so that the focus in network AirPlay work.  The iMac is only a wall 10-15 feet of a and express, is not a question of signal strength.  All locations are unchanged for years.

I tried to reset time expresses, the base station and the iMac, I've even resorted to zap PRAM.

Based on the description of your problem, I guess that it is iTunes more than your iMac.

For broadcast airplay, iTunes does most of the work.

  • iTunes decompresses the audio (AAC, MP3, etc) and create what is essentially a raw, uncompressed audio stream.
  • This stream is compressed using Lossless Compression (Apple's ALAC) via a codec QuickTime, encrypted with 128-bit hep1 then then listened (airplay) to the AirPort Express (AX) Terminal.

The other thing that happens in the background for AirPlay is that there are a number of communications between the host of iTunes and the AXE needs to happen so that everything works.

  • The AX must broadcast on the network it is available as a customer AirPlay.
  • The server of airtime (in this case, iTunes) must:
    • Set up a connection secured to the AXE.
    • Test this link periodically to see if it is still active, and
    • Do the actual broadcast.

Thus, if the problem is only with streaming, then above one of which is does not or does not correctly. However, if the problem is with the global connectivity, not only for streaming, then there may be a network problem instead.

    These settings are to set up your printer wireless (or wired):

    • Stay connected to your router
    • Trouble printer status 'offline '.

  • OfficeJet 6968: Officejet 6968 loses connectivity after sleep

    OfficeJet 6968: easy to undertake together upwards more wireless, then it totally fails when energy saver or sleep mode is used (what's it called depends on whether you are looking at the screen of the machine or its settings via a computer). This has been a very difficult and aggravating problem, because it makes you think that everything is connected and is doing so well. Then, suddenly, nothing connects more - not the computer, not an ipad, no access to assistance from the IP address of devices, etc. - which works perfectly a single minute there!  Tried a different printer (started with a 6978) and have the same problem, so it is either something in the software or an incompatibility with my wireless set up.

    After searching for hours through the forum and seeing other problems with sleep/energy saver, followed the problem down to the sleep/wake. Modification of the duration of sleep for 5 to 10 minutes moved the problem of connectivity to 10 minutes.

    6968 actually stopped in the middle of an active print job. Just left. 12 pages for a job of 24 pages. Restarted printer and it has taken over part of the work.  Apparently sleep energy saver does not care if it is actually used. Same problem, try to load the software on the computer. About 5 minutes in the Setup routine, when comes the sales pitch for the service of the ink, the computer displays that it loses the connection with the printer. So much for the implementation.

    An aggravating role through all of this, is that the screen of the printer says it is connected to the network. Gives no sign of problems. He sleeps screen darkens, you press a button to wake up and then it signals that all is well. Blue network light solid. The specified IP address. Thin connection. Apparently not, as no computers or phones or Ipads can see it... shows as disconnected in the devices in the computer. And the journal of router sees cut right to the 5 minute mark (or 10 when the value for that) almost to the second!

    Access its settings through its IP address, tried to update the software and guess what... hit the 5 minute mark and he has even stopped the update process. So apparently this timer sleep-saving energy company outweighs everything else what is the printer.  Incredible.

    Abandoned the wireless for a cable to the old (luckily I had one, because apparently the cables, printed instruction manuals and the owners are too outdated these days for HP technology). Turn off the radio. print a test very well. Waited for the printer screen to go black, indicating "standby" mode.     8. Make sure that your printer and router are at least 5 feet independently of each other.

    In the router: (refer to the manual of your router for more information)

    1. Use a fixed wireless channel as the 1, 6 or 11, never 'auto', try channel 1 first then the rest.
    2. Set the router to 20 Mhz only or 145Mbps router function.
    3. Always use WPA2-AES (Personal-PSK) encryption, but you can try the "mixed" mode
    4. Disable the WPS and never use it and disable the UPnP for the security of routers. No one can hijack your system now and help with wireless connectivity (if you want to know why, research on the web).
    5. If you have a router dual band (2.4 Ghz and 5.0 Ghz bands), make sure the SSID is NOT identical, they must be different for all the bands, even for networks without comments.
    6. SSID broadcast should be enabled.

    If you have Windows 7/8/8.1 discovery network is on or off?

  • VM loses connectivity after a reboot... help!

    I'm lost on this one, I've NEVER seen this problem before.

    The server is an HP DL380 G5 with two 1 GB network adapters. Running ESXi 5.0 (with all updates) one comes from ISP and we're going on the local network (server is mail, NAT and much more).

    After a reboot, the NETWORK card that comes from the ISP, loses connectivity, more often. It will be the Web sites (I guess that's the port open on the firewall) but nothing else. No internet, no. DNS, I can't even ping an external site by its IP. The only thing that works is the Web sites that are currently running. We use this connection for Web sites and Internet for the site so using NAT gives him around our PC, it is important that it works.

    The ONLY way to recover is to remove TWO cards from the network card in Windows and let Windows find their new (drivers). I got this server and copied down to older hardware, and never, it has a problem after a reboot and works with a number. On ESXi 5, even after fixation by the removal of the NETWORK adapter cards, once it gets restarted, I have to start all over again.

    I need to pass to the virtual machine, but so far it has been nothing but a nightmare.

    The problem seems to be what I was suspecting, a routing problem internal VM. I thought you lost the 0.0.0.0 route to the internet, but instead, you actually get an another 0.0.0.0 route that points to the local interface. The route print output:

    Work:

    0.0.0.0          0.0.0.0       < isp="" gateway="">      <   isp ="" ip="">     10

    Does not:

    0.0.0.0          0.0.0.0       < isp="" gateway="">      <   isp ="" ip="">     10

    0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 192.168.0.1 192.168.0.1 10

    192.168.0.1 is the local IP address of the internal NETWORK adapter in your virtual machine. This means that for some reason, sees itself as the default gateway and also not trying to access the internet through your ISP router.

    If you look at the text notworking ipconfig/all command, you will see that the 'card Ethernet Local Area Connection 4' with the 192.168.0.1 IP itself now has as a default gateway.

    The LAN4 configuration is static, so it's quite strange where the new default gateway information comes. A quick fix after a reboot is likely to open the TCP/IP settings and remove the new default gateway of the interal NIC

    You could also enter a new route persistent to the ISP router with the metric is lower, but I think that we should first try to find out why your Windows 2003 establishes a default gateway on the internal interface.

    You must contact your ISP to find out if the ISP's modem is flattened. If this isn't the case, then the use of the DMZ on the ISP modem.

  • Satellite P500-F12 - freezes after 5 minutes of game

    I recently bought a toshiba laptop P500-12F with the specifications below, the problem I have is that whenever I try to start a game like mount and blade or empire total war, the game works for between 5-10 minutes, but then crashes completely and the cell starts producing a strong buzz. The only way out of this is to press the power button until it stops. I don't get the problem with something else that this type of games and I don't know why it does this, any help or adivce would be welcome.

    Now it s not easy to say what causes this problem but first of all you need to install the latest driver of Toshiba display. Don t use non-Toshiba drivers, as they can cause the overheating!

    Also make sure that you use the latest version of the BIOS and it s useful to clean the laptop time using a jet of compressed air.

  • Windows auto-serrures after 10 minutes of inactivity.

    Can someone help me solve this problem? Windows Vista sends me back the connection after 10 minutes of inactivity screen, which becomes inconvenient when there is 5 to 10 times a day. First of all, it is NOT related to the screen saver, I have the "on RESUME, display login" unchecked, as well as my screen saver is disabled.     This is sometimes possible when you computer from the fan or the computer gets hot. Go to BIOS and enable two fans cause by default only one fan is turned on.

  • Screen lock turns on after 5 minutes, even if turned off in screen saver

    My new installation pro 8 victory is affecting the black screen and locking the computer (have connection) after 5 minutes, even if I have wide screen saver (or value black screen for 15 minutes), no change of power or standby screen setting seems heal.  It's a pain when you are watching a movie or some such.  I found a work around in a little app called movemouse that move the mouse every 30 seconds, but I should be able to disable the function.

    Anyone else see this?

    Found the answer.

    I had added my accounts Gmail and Exchange of the Windows Mail application. Two security policies applied. It seems that the Exchange account forced a timeout/lock slowed down to 15 minutes. I went to user accounts via the classic Control Panel, and click Reset security policies. Issue disappeared at this time. I'm testing to see if the problem remains fixed after a reboot.

    Apparently, just remove the accounts does not solve this problem. In fact, you must reset such security policies described above.

    Okay, I just need to know where to download the display driver.  My computer guard lock on my after 1 minute of game World of Warcraft.  I asked the tech there and they said according to my computer spec that my display driver is outdated.  I don't know where to find it here.  Support assistant says there is no update.  Is there a place where I can get it I really need help here.

    Oops I forgot to mention that the problem is not with my computer but the game.  Several other people have the same problem as I am.

  • Internet connection is lost after 2 minutes

    In our House there are 4 teenagers - all with laptops, iphones, BlackBerry, etc.

    We have an internet connection to BT home hub.

    Everyone can connect OK except 1 latop - if using WiFi, laptop connect only for 2 minutes and he then loses the connection to the internet.

    The only way to get a WiFi connection again is to reboot the router.

    The laptop works fine when connected with an RJ45 LAN cable - problem only occurs if you use the WiFi.

    The laptop has Windows XP and Internet Explorer 8.

    It may be possible but not likely.
    1. the system that only stays connected for 2 minutes, this problem only occurred after the settings have been changed in the router?
    2. did you check with your son that only security settings have been changed in the router?
    3. have you checked to see if this system is undergoing the same questions on other networks such as Café, the bookstore free networks or network of neighbors (the permission that they allow to connect)?
    Try to remove the wireless network profile and recreate.
    If you use 'Wireless Zero Configuration' to manage your wireless network, go to the network connections folder ("" Start > run ", type ncpa.cpl and click OK"), make a right click on the wireless network connection, select Properties, and then click the wireless networks tab, where you can highlight and then 'remove' an existing profile.
    After that you have removed, reconnect to your network and test to see if the problem still occurs.

    Step 1: Start the computer and use the Recovery Console to check for errors
    a. see to start the computer and use the Recovery Console
    b. at the command prompt, type chkdsk /f /r and press to enter.

    Step 2: We recommend that you check if the RPC Server service is running.
    a. Click Start, click Run, type services.msc and click ok.
    b. in the list of services, double-click RPC Server service.
    c. change the startup type to automatic and click on the Start button.
    d. click ok to apply the changes.
