Alienware 17 battery failure

I own a laptop Alienware 17.  By turning on my computer, I get an error code indicating the battery failure permanent.  This happened a year ago and the battery was under warranty so it was replaced.

The woman to technical support, I spoke today, said that the battery should only last a year previously, it must be replaced. She continued by saying that there are no batteries for this calculation in stock.  Is this true?  The batteries should only last a year?

The computer has two years and its second battery just died.

No need to disconnect the battery.

In fact, Dell provides a tool to extend the battery life, but it is disabled by default (at least, it was on my 17R3).

Right click on the battery icon, select "desktop mode battery charge" and go from there.

  • Detected CMOS battery failure

If after system start it shows "the firmware has detected a CMOS battery failure. Press Enter to continue. "It happens every day when the computer is idle.  When the computer is used, no problem.  But I'm tired to reset the date/time and disconnect the power.

Any help would be most appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

If you have a desktop PC and then unplug the power and remove the left side cover, locate the size of coin lithium battery and replace it with another identical, available from supermarkets, chemists and computer for less than $5.00 stores, if you have a laptop that is a little more difficult, take a look at this you tube video :-

    http://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=cg_wvp1YdSI

Make sure you get an identical, the height may vary as well as the voltage.

You will need to set the date and time to the seed first.

  • Alienware M17X battery knows a permanent failure

    September 30, 2016.

I am the owner of an Alienware M17X R3 model I purchased in November of 2015.

I had noticed that my machine seems to experience performance several questions when the battery shows it was plugged in, but do not load. Naturally, when the computer is disconnected and reconnected to power, this issue seems to be fixed. However, I remember that on September 9, I had unplugged the power, and my computer had armored black before my eyes.

As I began once more my computer, I received the message that my battery has known a permanent failure and had to be replaced. In the hope of a solution, I began to ask one of my colleagues on my problem, their response was that my battery was included and was therefore irreplaceable. However, I had contacted an expert who offered their services to install the battery they need the correct model.

I started looking for some common types of battery online, but none of them have good customer customer, some stating that the battery didn't fit with their computer, or declared not satisfactory on condition of their model. I decided to reject buying stacks of marketing unreliable or non-official.

My question is where to find the correct battery type who fixed my computer and how? I prowled around which I guess is the stock of Dell, but I can't find the battery I want.

I'm still currently a college student, and I can't be away from my computer for more than seven days. This should explain why I can't send my machine to the manufacturer for repair.

My family and I are traveling in cross-country skiing for the wedding of my sister in November, so I'll need a working computer at work of our arrival. Is there a possible solution to this?

Wait patiently for a response. Thank you very much for your time!

    Hey,.

I have a HP Envy Ultrabook

    HP ENVY Ultrabook 4-1050ca

    Hello

    You are welcome

You can buy a replacement from the store of parts HPbattery, but you may well find that you can get it cheaper from a retailer of 3rd party as in the example on the following link.

  • Problem starting after battery failure

I have a laptop HP DV6 running Windows 7. The main battery failed in less than 2 years and I'm waiting on a replacement. Now, I'm running in safe mode because it does not start normally using current alternate with or without the battery failed in place. If I try to boot normally it is trying to load constantly, or crashes after the newspaper, with or without the desktop display.

So my question is: it does not work on only one sector? Or is there something else wrong?

    Thank you

The answer for me and anyone else having the same problem:

Obviously, the answer is that it is not designed to work on any sector. I just received my replacement battery, jumped in and it started normally, no problem. It's a real pain. It would have been much easier if I could find the answer SOMEWHERE

The main battery is your rechargeable. If you get a failure message from the main battery, the battery is she talking about so replace it before it fails.

  • Alienware M17X battery issue

Hi, I bought an Alienware Laptop M17X 3 years and I've charged the battery 3 times and have used this laptop for 5 hours at most because I have other computers in use and it is in my closet for the past two years. When I plugged the battery defiler shows an X red and says that the battery is not detected, so I've updated the Bios and all the materials and programs and everything is updated and then I tried the FN/F2 and nothing happens and I tried to unplug and take out the battery and hold the power button for 1 minute until 4 minutes and still nothing I read an article that the battery may be completely dead and must be 'preloaded' and I don't know how to do or that I need to do to fix my problem of battery and I tried all the troubleshooting and nothing works. If anyone can help please do so and thank you inadvance

Hiya, you may need to perform a complete emptying of power to reset everything.

    1 turn off the power

    2 disconnect the battery

    3. turn the laptop and sit on a towel for the rear cover is exposed

    4. remove the two screws that fix the rear cover in position

    5. remove the rear cover

    6. next to the Center CPU fan you will find a call stack small coin with a wire to a connection on the motherboard, unplug wire to this.

    7. turn laptop computer sense, press on and hold POWER SWITCH for a slow count to 20

    8. let all disconnected for 10-15 minutes (to be sure, to be sure)

    9. reconnect all in reverse order.

10 insert adapter Plug and let it charge for a few minutes before starting the system.

This may not work in this case, but it has worked well for me in the past

  • Equium L10-300 - battery failure

    Hello

Can someone tell me if the battery isn't on the laptop Equium L10-300 it will not feed with the lead/charger pluged?

    Hello

First of al you will get a few suggestions here in the forum if you want to be 100% sure which part is defective or malfunctions, you must contact a technician for laptop and it could check the hardware.

Now my opinion; If the laptop lights even if the AC adapter is plugged in, then it has nothing to do with s battery but with the internal parts like for example electronic power supply on the motherboard.

If the battery is faulty, you should always be able to use the laptop connected to the power adapter. Right?

So I think that your problem is not related to the battery I m not sure what could be wrong, but first the adapter sector and RAM check if both parties would be ok then there must be another serious problem that I suggested above maybe motherboard is affected

  • Satellite A300 - battery failure

    Hello
I have an A300 20F, with a battery 9 cells, which worked perfectly until yesterday.
all of a sudden, when I unplugged from the electricity grid, it no longer works (I mean - now it works only if connected).
    does anyone know this problem?
is the problem in the charger, the battery or the computer itself?
by the way - it s a relatively new battery - I have about 5 months...
    Thank you
    gontow

    Hello

You mean the laptop works only with the power adapter plugged in and stops immediately after the power supply is not disconnected?
Well, it s hard to tell if it s a problem with motherboard or battery, but if the battery is only 5 months old, there could be a power supply an electronic problem on the main Board.
But the technician must first check the battery before replacing the motherboard.

Therefore, get in touch with the local ASP to get more details.

  • dc7600 PC CMOS not remember settings after battery failure

Re: dc7600 Convertible Minitowers, 3 GB of RAM, an 80 GB HARD drive and what looks like a power supply 365 w.

This PC is not used for several months and is not plugged into the socket to the wire while it is unused. When

I recently started it again, it will start automatically, without my press the power button. Rather than running

normally, before starting in Windows, he had a cursor at the top left of a black screen and counted through which

I guess is the MB of RAM, because he stopped counting when he got about 3000 MB. Two error messages appeared then,

the Advisor first of all that the system configuration has changed since the last start of the system, or loss of power for the real time

battery had occurred, and the battery may does not work properly and may need to be replaced. I had to press F1

    to continue.

The second message begins with the number 163 and advised that the time and date were not set, perhaps because of the loss

the on-board battery power and say once again the battery may need to be replaced.  I have once again pressed F1 to accept this,

and then it started and ran normally, allowing me to reset the date and time.

To try to solve the above problem, I have:

-install a new CMOS battery (twice, in the first new was doubtful)
-reset the BIOS to default factory settings (twice), using the F10 BIOS settings, I don't see a rider pass

    on the main map.

When I leave the PC plugged into the electric network power, after it was closed (quite rightly), it will be

Start with happiness and function normally without any problem when you press the power button.  However, if I shut the PC down

and unplug the electric network, when I try to restart, he always goes into RAM, count, error message and

Date audit/reset process again. The PC works perfectly after this sequence of events.

So far, the problem persists.  It is obviously not a HARD drive error or the operating system, so are there other things that can be done

to address the problem, for example. flashing the BIOS, or I'm looking to replace the motherboard?

Any help you can give me would be appreciated.

    Concerning

    PS

I leave the PC plugged into the power supply, due to the fact that the power supply in my area is

subject to spikes, Browns and thunderstorms outs.

    Hello Paul

I tried all your advice, and I still get the same problem, so it seems that my motherboard is not detecting the battery for some reason any. Probably a symptom of living in the tropics - we just went through the season of more heavy rains on record.  I'll mark this as complete discussion. And start looking for a replacement motherboard...

Thank you very much for your help and for taking the time to respond to me!

    See you soon

  • Extraction of EOS Rebel XS battery failure

Open the lid of the battery compartment and turn the battery lock there is no extraction of usual battery at all... It remains in its original position in the compartment. Please notify

    Glad it worked.

I really don't think it was from swelling, this is the area of contact plastic which is too tight for the contacts of your camera.  I had two batteries for my 450 d who did this, and it was a question well documented with many generics I found on Amazon.  I kept using mine, but if he comes to you, they are pretty cheap to replace.

I just created a zipper of flossing as described above.  Alternatively you could just leave your little Ribbon on it (even if the glue could weaken over time and detach).  The good thing about flossing, it is pulling from the bottom, instead of the upper part where the glue is attached.  There was plenty of room in the battery compartment to the tail, and I never had any problems with it.

In addition, if there is a label on the battery, remove it.  That fixed the problem for many online.

  • 3D Windows XP screen saver does not work after a CMOS battery failure

I have a dual-boot Windows XP / Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit set in place.  Somehow, after a flat battery CMOS, my 3D screemsavers do not work.  I mainly use the Windows 7 but I'm checking the XP.  The screen saver settings seem OK but the preview and the screen saver appears not to do 3D.  I've updated my drivers nVidia GTX 275.

Note Pleaser that everything works well under Windows 7.

    Hi smlunatick,.

    (1) what version of Windows XP are you using?
    (2) if it works much earlier?
    (3) you use multiple screens?
    (4) were there any changes to the computer before the question?

  • Temporary screen in case of battery failure

One thing I noticed in the two months when I use my R61i on battery (DC), is that the screen momentarily turns off randomly.  This is especially noticeable when I watch DVDs of the film jump because of power outages.  I don't know what is happening, but I remember that this problem started to appear after I changed the setting of the battery for maximum battery life.  Perhaps this is related to the problem?

    Welcome here, cc1944!

Please check that power you plan in power manager. Simply switch to another profile, as reading of presentation or video.

You can create your own profile, too.

Then, you are able to choose the frequency of the processor, screen saver or change the sleep/hibernation time.
