Bad display on Satellite P200

Hello

My P200 under Vista has a terrible display, all the fonts are blurry and in general, the view is terrible.
I tried to change the display settings of but nothing seems to make any difference.
All of the suggestions.

Thanks in advance, IanB

I use the Satellite P200 almost a year now and all I can say is: use recovery media, install the original recovery image and be happy. I don't know how long you use your P200 and as you have driver display, but for your problem, I have three explanations:
-You use some bad graphics driver
-L' display is faulty or
-You need glasses

Please don't be crazy for my last comment. It has nothing with your person directly. I just wrote about my own experience. Satellite P200 has the glossy LCD screen brilliant (TruBrite) and using the standard display (1440 x 900) resolution image on the screen is quite clear.

You won´t find this information in the manual of toshiba, because they are "generally" not relevant for customers. Already tried these settings? I want to say if you didn t tried em, you won´t know if they really work and linux guys were right.

  • Weird display on my Satellite P200 - 1 g 8 problem

I bought my new laptop Satellite P200 - 1 g 8. I had some problems with the display cable.
After that switch on and work for a few hours, the display is corrupted, or you can say distort.
It is very difficult to explain in words. But when I restart or switch users, it starts, works very well and then again after 1-2 hours the screen suddenly corrupts.

I've updated the drivers and Vista too, but I still have this problem. This problem comes then it distorts everything on the screen gave nothing.
    It is not overheating issue.

If someone knows about it or anyone can help with this, thanks in advance.

    Thank you

    Hello

To be honest, it is not easy to understand exactly what is happening. All you can do is install Vista with delivered recovery DVDs. This image has been tested and it should work well. If the problem persists, it must be checked by the service.

Sorry, but I don't see another solution for you. As I have written before that it is not easy to understand exactly what is happening and what it looks like.

This occurs if you use a specific application?

  • Need to go XP Display Driver Nvidia GeForce 7600 for Satellite P200-143

    Hello

I started my P200 - 143 Toshiba Satellite Vista double. But I can't find the NVIDIA drivers on the site Web of Toshiba. I tried many downloads of the nvidia Web site, but no one has been installed properly resulting in the flicker of screen on XP.

Kindly let me know the location of the driver to download the existing drivers from nvidia works perfectly or there is no particular sequence in which the drivers will be installed.

Any quick response is highly requested, please.

    Kashi

Sorry, buddy, but I don't quite understand you.
You have P Satellite P200-143 with model number PSPBGE-xxxxxxEN.

So what you need to do is to visit the download page for Toshiba under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp

So what you need to do is to choose the right laptop model:

    Type of portable computer product
    Familly Satellite
    P series Satellite products
    Model 0 Satellite P200 (PSPBG)
    Model short No. PSPBGE
    Windows XP operating system
    Type display driver driver

    SEARCH

Nvidia 8.4.0.0 display driver version will be listed as a result.
I think that Toshiba has tested this driver and it should work properly. Of course, if you install the correct version of Windows XP Home (SP2 of Windows XP Home edition) and other things following the Instructions of facilities document.

    Good luck!

  • Satellite P200-where is the switch that makes display to turn off?

    Hello world

I have a Toshiba Satellite P200, there is a problem with the display, it works and it doesn't work.

I did some checking, the backlight is turned on, and it works well with a second monitor.

The question I really want to ask, where is the switch or contact on the lid or the body of the laptop that stops at the screen when I close the lid?

I have the laptop stripped down and I see there, not anywhere, where there is some sort of mechanical or magnetic contact between the cover and Palm rest.

I thought he got me something where the lid locks close but can't see anything there.

I know that there must be something that puts the laptop into hibernation when I close the lid, but the sensor or another location.

    see you soon

    Spike

I think that the sensor is part of the motherboard, but can't tell exactly where he might be.
But as far as I know that the JP9 (40pin) is used to connect the screen.

However, in my opinion this is not a sensor delivers
If something is wrong with the screen, you may need to replace either, FL inverter, LCD screen or check the connection between the screen and motherboard

  • Satellite P200 - 123 No Post, but still the boots

    Hello

Have a strange, my old Satellite P200-123 worked extremely hot (70 inactive more than 100 of the load) 2 years so he disassembled and replaced the thermal grease, fans and cleaned. Standard maintenance went well, (apart from the microphone plug disintegrate at the start, but I use headphones so not really a problem).

First boot after the interview I noticed that the screen does not display anything until windows log in screen, no toshiba screen, no post messages, etc. At first, I thought it may have lack of an external port (VGA or HDMI) however I tried to connect to an external device and he still refuses to show anything until the windows log on screen.

I stripped and repaired hundreds of laptops (it's my job) but never encountered this in 15 years of maintenance and repairs PC and laptop. System running Windows 7 (not like it should make a difference) and the used thermal grease was the new Artic MX-3 and served on the GPU, the CPU and the Northbridge (and before someone says you must use the compound of unfounded pressure of toshiba ceramics, stuff I've used here are better for this the toshiba recommended stuff, believe me). The system works well (now idling at 39 and 65 at full load), I guess that's not much of a problem, unless I need to reinstall or restore my machine for some reason, all the world has an idea on how to fix this?

    Very interesting, Jaster! :)

Thanks for sharing this information with us!

  • Can I build at the second disk on Satellite P200-1I4?

    Hello!

Before all sorry for my bad English. =((

I have a toshiba SATELLITE P200-1I4 and the question is: can I install a HDD (additional) more. Or there is only one SATA slot in this laptop? Unfortunately for laptop is not close to me now, and I can't remove the back panel and see.
On the web site of Toshiba, I can't find any information about it.

    More information:
    SATELLITE P200-1I4
    S/N: z7269306k - M/n: PSPB3E-0J601MRU

Thanks, and I hope that all written above is understandable. =)

Best thing you can do is to remove the cover for the second HARD drive and see if the HARD drive connector is available.
If this is not the case, there is no possibility to upgrade the HARD drive.

Maybe someone on this forum has the same laptop model and can check for you.

  • Satellite P200-1 b 6: Sound Driver update fails, and HD-DVD player does not work

I just bought a laptop Satellite P200-1 b 6 and spent the day installing the updates recommended by the TEMPO programme. One of them was an update of RealTek audio driver but on run this it fails at about 80% of the way through with an error: "install Realtek HD Audio Driver failure!

Now, the reader of HD DVD, Toshiba will fail with an error "unable to output the video to an external device.

Please change your display keys of the device by pressing the Fn + F5 after the end of the application "." I tried this but it seems to have no effect.

I'm now regretting starting to update the drivers installed. Should I try to rebuild the machine using the recovery discs or is there another solution that someone found? Or if others have found the upgrade work?

    All advice welcome

    Hello

When I started using PC, one of my friends told me something: do not touch the well-executed system. I know that you, like so many other people out there, have updated things but as you can see, it can go in the wrong direction.

This TEMPO software is good, but if all goes well the leave it as it is. What you can try is to use the System Restore tool and move the BONES to earlier time and hope everything will be OK again.

    Please post the result.

  • Satellite P200 - BIOS did not recognize my usb 3.5 drive "

    Hello
I have a few years ago:
    Satellite P200-1FY
    Reference: PSPB6E-0QR035FR

I just bought a new hard drive WD20EARS (2 TB) 64 MB of RAM,
and I connected on an external box<-> SATA USB3 (closed hot 'cc'), so plugin on my toshiba via USB (USB2.0 card)

    I partitioned the drive with 2 parts (1 part FAT32 (enabled): 930KB and 1 NTFS 1, 89 GB)

    * My problem is :*
I am not able to detect the drive by the bios (bios updated with 2.7 "bios - 20110124131826.zip"), in order, starting with partition FAT32)

    tests I've already done :*
    (1) connect this drive (WD20EARS) on a PC: HP 6530--> result b: drive is detected by the bios, it is impossible to boot the disk
and the operating system is started correctly

    (2) plug in sametime a usb2 startup key and the disc--> result: WD20EARS disc is displayed on the selection of the bios (sometimes)
but it is impossible to start on it. When I select the drive, the USB is booting

Could you help me find the problem (bios, disk or box usb3) or have you updated to solve

    Kind regards

    Stand by.
BIOS cannot detect the external HARD drive? You want to start OS saved on the external HARD drive? Is this correct?

Tests 1 and 2 are related to this HP laptop?

  • Re: Satellite P200-PsPB3C-BB808C cannot locate * multimedia controller *.

I just upgraded laptop Toshiba on Win 7 neighbors following a bad fall of Vista.
    It's a Satellite P200-BB808C.
When I started there are two missing drivers, mass storage controller, and a multimedia controller. I did a clean install, starting with formatting the drive.
Windows 7 loaded a - OK and all Toshiba drivers have been installed in a recommended sequence. I was able to locate the driver for the storage controller mass but still couldn't find anything for the multimedia controller.
I've been alternating between the site of Canada and the United States with no luck.
I have also spent a lot of time googling variations of the same question, trying to find some information on this driver. It seems that a lot of people have the same problem.
So far, the system works fine without glitches or hang-ups.
    Any suggestion would be appreciated.
    Thank you.

    Hello

To be honest, I don't know about driver multimedia controller you need.
can post you the code of the provider and I can find the driver? To find:

    1. go into Device Manager, click on multimedia controller and then go into property and then go into the details. You will see a code like for example PCI/VEN_8086 & DEV_27D8 & SUBSYS...

I don't know where I can get the driver.

A strange point that may or may not have an impact: Atheros network card is displayed as AR5006X with EVEREST, while Device Manager displays AR5007EG.

I used the driver from the Web from Toshiba site.

  • Satellite P200 - 17 c - freezes at loading Vista

Hi all, I have the following system:

    Satellite P200 - 17 c
    Intel® Centrino® Core 2 Duo Processor T5450
    Genuine Windows® Vista® Ultimate Edition
DVD Super Multi (Double Layer) drive
    2 048 (1 024 + 1 024) MB
    17.1 "Toshiba TruBrite® WXGA + TFT display

The issues I'm having is that when I start the laptop, it freezes at the loading bit Windows Vista. I so can't further.

I did some research on the internet and he advised removing the DVD drive, and then start the laptop. I did and he'll actually past Windows loading, but then the screen turns white for a while, eventually he'll in CHKDSK - here it always freezes at 31%. I was able to access the Advanced Boot Options, but it freezes trying to get into Safe Mode. I don't have a disc of recovery at hand, however, I have a Vista OS disk, I can also access the BIOS.

Please indicate how should I proceed? Thank you

    Hi masave,.

If your laptop also freezes if you enter mode Windows safe, it seems that the OS is confused upward and you probably have to reinstall

In your case, I'd do a recovery facility. You can use the function of your laptop HARD drive recovery. Go to the advanced Windows (F8) boot menu and select Repair my computer. The installation of recovery will begin now.
