Battery connected, charge

I have a HP Pavilion g6t - 1B 00 CTO Notebook PC and yet another problem.

The battery icon says there are 64% available and it is plugged in and in charge. However, the available percentage does not change.  Usually when the charger is plugged in and supported, the icon shows that this filling - it initially, but then stops.

When I unplug and re taken - the view of 'fill' icon, then stops - how do I know if he is really in charge if the % available does not change?

Hi jbminla,

Is the installed operating system Windows 8 or Windows 7?

Press the power button and press the ESC key to enter the boot menu, and then select F2 for diagnosis. In the menu, advanced diagnostics, select the battery test and run it. If the battery of tests pass, then proceed as in the following paragraph. If the test fails, then the battery should be replaced.

Windows 8

Hold down the Windows key and press the X key.

Choose Device Manager.

Select the device of Batteries and click the triangle to the left of the icon to expand the category of the device.

Right click on the device of the compatible battery Microsoft ACPI control method and select, then click on uninstall.

If there is a battery of device called Battery Composite Microsoft present, uninstall this device as well.

The one you have uninstalled devices with the right button on any device in the Device Manager and select Search the hardware changes. The operating system will reinstall the above devices and which should return the ability of your battery to full capacity.

For Windows 7 click the windows ORB and type in the device. I have the above control panel section choose Device Manager and the exact steps that I listed above after the wornd Device Manager.

Please post your results in your feed

Best regards

  • Battery "connected, charge", but DOES not charge.

    Hello

I've recently updated in Windows Vista Home Premium to Windows 7 Home Premium.  With Vista, my battery played very beautifully and I've never had problems.  As soon as I have upgraded to Windows 7, I currently has the following problem:

When I hover over the battery icon in the system tray, it says ' 19% available (plugged in, load).  However, the battery is not at all.  The small farm level animation stops and, although the system seems to thinking that is my battery charge, it is not.  When I first installed the new OS, battery charges to 69% with the same problem, so he went up to 75 percent for about 1 week before in free fall, so that now my battery charge limit is 19%, which, as you can imagine, takes about 15 minutes to the battery power.

After several redundant and unnecessary communications with Microsoft, I thought that maybe someone on this forum might have experience with this problem or any suggestions on what I could try.

Note that it is NOT apparently common problem some people have with the battery saying "plugged in, not charging", that my system is specifically stated the battery recharges when it is not.

It took me some time to get even Microsoft agree the problem they insisted that it was because my battery is a bit old.  However, this happens with the two batteries that I own, using a charger that I have, and, as I said before, it started just when I installed clean Windows 7.

Thanks in advance for any help!

In recent months, at one point, my battery would indicate nn % (plugged in, does not support) and maintain this accusation so much it was plugged. Running on the battery, the charge would eventually diminish and in order to get the battery charge again, I went through the process of uninstalling the compatible battery control method ACPI in Device Manager. Usually within 24 hours, choses things would be back to plugged in, does not support. However, that is no longer to fix the problem. Hi @shmay7,

From the information provided, I think it's a problem with the connection between the laptop and the battery. It might be something wrong with the point of contact between the battery and the portable or to the battery circuit. It is better to have another battery, so you can try it with the laptop. The creation of recovery media should not be affected by the problem of power with the battery is not installed.

    Hello

My laptop battery will not charge. Just bought two weeks ago. Can I use my laptop for an hour approximately and it is still empty.

    What's not?

    Edwin

A moment please. you said that the battery won't charge?
Is this true or do you mean that the laptop can run only one hour on battery?

Battery is charging while the laptop is connected to the power adapter?

  • Satellite M70-340 battery not charging

I had a problem with a Toshiba Satellite M70 - 340 portable hard drive, but everything else worked perfectly, and it was possible to operate on battery power. So I sent it to a maintenance shop where they changed the hard drive and installed a fresh new copy of Windows XP. Once I got it I found that I am not able to turn it back on, except when it is connected to electricity and after a little or looking around, I found out that the battery is not.

In addition to this, when I plug first laptop for electricity while it is turned off, the yellow/orange battery LED lights only for like 3 seconds. And even if it is activated, the led is still off, and the the battery icon on the status bar indicates that the laptop works on AC and does not say that the battery charge, he repeats to me 1%.

I also tried leaving it plugged to AC while it is off, hoping he can recharge, but I bite the dust.

So what would cause the battery won't charge if from one day to another (and just by changing the HARD drive and install a fresh copy of windows XP), the battery has stopped working?

And I was just wondering is an update of the BIOS or your driver fix? I want to say a battery need some kind of driver or software to run?

    Hello Zaher

I have Satellite M70-159 and issue described is not known to me. If you are sure that this strange issue started after get it back you with 100% service I recommend you speak again with technicians.

Behavior described is not really normal. As much I know BIOS update or drivers have no influence on it and to me it sounds like a malfunction of the equipment.

BTW: remove the battery, connect the laptop to the power adapter and start Notepad. When the operating system starts correctly, wait a few minutes and put the battery in the laptop. Please let know us what happens when you do this.

    Hi AtlantiB,

And what happens if turn off your laptop and connect the AC/DC adapter? You see that the battery is charging?

Sometimes, if the battery is absolutely empty, it might take several hours until it s full charge and it takes a few minutes until it will be charged of specifications.

Then, turn off your laptop and connect the AC adapter. Then, wait an hour and check what is happening.

  • Satellite Pro A100: Battery not charging

    Hello

I wonder if anyone can help. I have the laptop above and just before the warranty run out, I had a problem with the power cable because it would not require the laptop and would also make a funny type of sparking sound.

I sent it to Toshiba who could not find any problem with him (he did only occasionally - usually after using it for an hour or two) and the laptop returned me which worked well.

Shortly after the warranty missed, I had another problem with the power. The laptop battery is dead and the power cable would not charge the battery at all. When the laptop is connected or not connected, the only light I get when you press the power button is the orange flashing light telling me that the battery has no charge.

So I bought a new power cable thinking it would fix the problem, to find that this was not the case and the laptop would not even charge.

I Dove and bought a new battery hoping that was what was causing the problem, only discover that even once the battery was not at fault either.

If someone had a similar problem or know someone how / repair shop what to do to solve this problem without having to spend a fortune on take it to a PC? After calling trick a couple where I live, they said they would only do what I did - change battery and charger - and if that did not fix then told me to buy a new laptop.

    Help, please!

    Hello

Sorry for this news but this question looks very bad.
First of all my first thought was a battery defective, but according to your message, we can exclude this possibility

Everything looks like a malfunction of the card mother:(bien sûr ce n'est qu'une suggestion, mais si l'adaptateur est ok et la nouvelle batterie doesn t trop puis une panne de carte mère est possible.)

I think that there is not much to do. First, you must be 100% sure of the breakdown. Verification of the laptop is so necessary and inevitable to see what's exactly wrong.
That's why I really would recommend contacting an ASP and ask for details and additional handling.

But be aware that the exchange of the mobo is a costly affair because the motherboard is one of the parts expensive notebooks. Lets hope you n t need to replace it

    Good luck

  • Satellite A75-S2112 switch to adapter & battery not charging

    Hello

I have seen that many people have this same problem, but there is not an answer to solve, so I decided to shift again.

I have a computer laptop A75-S2112 and Im having this problem with the adapter and the battery.

When I connect to the adapter for the laptop the laptop does not automatically, to food and battery does not charge.

When the laptop is turned off the yellow light comes on as if battery is charging, but it isn't.

Should I get a new battery or a new adapter. ?

I believe you that there is no answer because without exact diagnosis, it is not easy to say what may be the problem. Here on this forum we can only speculate on these questions, but the answer can be given by the technicians.

Battery or AC adapter? What you think about faulty electronic on the motherboard? This could be reason for the problem described?

How long to connect the AC/DC adapter? For a new battery, I would recommend leaving the adapter plugged in for 24 hours.

In the worst cases, your new battery is faulty, but in this case, you should get a free replacement battery. Just ask your dealer where you bought it.

  • Computer laptop battery "in charge" but stuck at 0%

    Hello

I have a G6-1b79ca Pavilion and the battery stopped charging.

Windows show "Plugged in, load" and level to remain at 0%. Forever.

Of course it is now completely empty.

If I remove the CC of the computer plug, turn it off immediately.

Here's what I did so far, more or less in that order:

    1. replace the battery (recommended by the logon page BIOS...)

    2 tried this popular patch:

Stop-> remove battery and power cord-> hold down the button "POWER" 30 sec-> power supply DC-> Boot->-> battery-> uninstall Microsoft ACPI-Complient control method battery -> Shutdown-> put the battery in the Device Manager (cannot start on him alone because it does not... but maybe that might help)-> start the computer

    3. updated all the drivers and reinstalled all the HP utility (got the Intel drivers on the Intel site)

    4. I updated the BIOS with the latest version and reset to default settings

5 tested the power supply with a multimeter (Psu unloaded, sleeve ground referenced outside it read 19.8V = internal plug, 18V centering PIN)

6 replace the motherboard (which has already been replaced)

    7. replace the power supply

    8 reinstalled Windows

9 weld the power directly to the motherboard adapter in order to bypass the connections all contacts (cut the CC Plug and soldered the bare wires directly on the pcb)

The utility HP BIOS (F2 on startup) told me that the new battery fails the test and must be replaced. Awesome.

The battery in the utility test assistant (run in Windows) HP tells me that the battery is OK, but would need to be loaded (Seriously? It becomes funny...)

So basically the material is new.

Utility Windows/HP tells me that the battery is OK, but the BIOS utility will tell me to replace it.

    What the hell is happening?

The material is supposed to be (entirely replaced) A1 and windows were completely reinstalled.

Any suggestion? My beginning of sanity to fade...

On a side note, here is the situation that I hope not occurred:

    1. the original battery has failed

    2. he burned the motherboard charging circuit

    3. I replaced the battery then damaged mother burned load circuit card

    4. I finally replaced the motherboard that was damaged by the new battery, which was damaged by the previous motherboard, which was damaged by the original battery...

5 return to square one, hundreds of $ less and a lot of time to lose...

I can't buy ANOTHER motherboard/battery combo without going crazy...

    Thanks for any help!

    HE IS ALIVE! Lolll!

The problem is the new battery, I don't know why, but it was completely empty and never had to charge.

I ask the seller to replace and load a new a bit so I was able to start on battery only.

I removed the power supply and the battery, which held the POWER button / 30 sec and started on the battery alone.

Once in Windows I pluged the charger and now it is fully charged!

Looks like the key here is to be able to start on battery alone. one thing I could never reach while struggling with that drained.

This thread of hope help someone solve battery problems, because there are MANY possible solutions.

Thanks to those who have taken their time to help!

  • 0% available battery - not charging

    Greetings-

I have a HP Pavilion dv 6500. I'm having a similar battery problem which has been discussed in other posts. The original battery "died" a couple of months, and I bought a new HP.

Now the icon in the system tray indicates "0% available (sector, no charging current). I installed the HP Support Assistant and ran the battery Test, the result is: status: 'Calibrate' and current status: 'unknown '.

Problem is that part of the procedure to "Calibrate" is to allow the battery to charge (from 99 to 100% of load), but I am unable to accomplish this because the battery is not - the charge remains at 0% and never seems to recharge.

Am I missing something? Any suggestions for the Forum will be appreciated!

  • EliteBook 8570p: battery not charging - even if the computer appears to see that it is plugged

I have not found a suitable solution for this (yet).

As a backdrop, I just got my laptop under warranty returned by HP service for a problem with booting docked impasse.

They replaced the motherboard and the hard disk. I kept battery with me, so he did not travel to the service.

So I turn the computer to the test, to see if the boot at a standstill problem was software related, and I noticed that the battery does not load (network port is also not reliable, but maybe it's a different problem).

I tried the fix posted elsewhere where I uninstall the ACPI compatible batteries from the Device Manager. But that did not work.

This produces the same, whether the laptop is docked or connected directly to the power:

    1. the power low battery icon is displayed and AC plugged in.

    2. the battery charging light is orange.

    3. once I start first the power icon is animated, clearly showing that the battery is charging

    4. If the mouse on the icon of power, it lists that the battery is 23% (plugged in and charging)

5 but nothing changes. hours later the battery is always on display at 23%

    6. battery works. I can run off the battery voltage.

    7. the power supply works. I can run off AC only (with battery removed)

    Thank you

The saga has been longer than that. I got a new battery, but the problem persisted. I actually managed to charge the battery and it meets the same test on a laptop.

I called HP support and they suggested I have test the battery in diagnosis mode F2/system, outside of Windows.

The same battery would pass or fail depending on the State in which was the battery.

In any case the laptop wouldn't load any stack - on a platform or directly connected.

I could get a failure of the battery if the battery was less to, say 85% and the yellow light blinking load (load error).

I ended up sending the laptop in for repair - they think case somehow got distorted... but I'm not sure what they actually lair.  The motherboard was already replaced for other reasons.
