  • Windows Resume Loader black screen on HP Pavilion dv4-2145 dx laptop Windows 7

    I have a HP Pavilion dv4-2145 dx laptop with Windows 7. After pressing the button "on", the logo operation windows says its "recovery" windows, but a black screen titled "Windows Resume Loader" appears with the following message:

    The last attempt to resume the system from its previous location failed. Attempt to resume again?

    With the 2 following options:

    1. continue with system summary, (which does not work and I end up with the resumption of the "Windows" followed a blank black screen...)

    2 Delete restoration data and proceed to system boot menu (I haven't ' truei stops because I wasn't sure what that meant)

    But I managed to go to the reviews section diagnostic systems and it seems that he pass all 5 of the test, including hard drive and memory, poster, etc. So I don't know what the problem...

    Please notify.

    Thank you very much!

    Hello

    I think that in this case, you will have to choose the second option - "Delete restoration data and proceed to system boot menu" and see if that fixes the problem.  If all etc. documents you had open before hibernation were saved, then you should not lose anything.  If there are unsaved changes (for example if you have added to a document), the file will be to the point that his last record and you lose additional data.

  • Black screen on Hp Pavilion dv7 Notebook

    I had my Hp dv7 notebook for a few months now and have had no problems. But all of a sudden, I turn on the computer and see nothng but a white, black screen. I don't know if I changed the display settings or what, but I do not see anything. I know that the computer is running because the fan starts and the lights on the keyboard are working. When I connect my laptop to an external monitor, I was able to find that my computer was on and fully functional. In fact, I use it now on an external monitor to type this message.

    I was wondering if I made a stupid mistake, or if it's something serious, please help ASAP

    Thanks, Mike

  • black screen on HP Pavilion laptop

    After installing an update from Microsoft, my HP laptop suddenly went black and would not restart.
    Have tried rebooting in safe mode and may come to the point where I chose "start in safe mode" but the laptop does not start.
    The screen stays black, but there seems to be something in the hard drive.
    Is there a way to fix this without spending on the recovery disks and lose all my data?

    If Safe Mode does not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:

    Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.

    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

    When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial148.html

    Link above shows what the process looks like and a manual, it load the repair options.

    NeoSmart containing the content of the Windows Vista DVD 'Recovery Centre', as we refer to him. It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.

    Read all the info on the website on how to create and use it.

    ISO Burner: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html

    It's a very good Vista startup repair disk.

    You can do a system restart tool, system, etc it restore.

    It is NOT a disc of resettlement.

    And the 32-bit is what normally comes on a computer, unless 64-bit.

    If you need to save the data and reinstall.

    Data recovery:

    1. slave of your hard drive in another computer and read/save your data out there.

    2. put your Hard drive in a USB hard drive case, plug it into another computer and read/save from there.

    3 Alternatively, use Knoppix Live CD to recover data:

    http://www.Knopper.NET/Knoppix/index-en.html

    Download/save the file Knoppix Live CD ISO above.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/isorecorder.htm
    Download the Vista software from the link above.
    After installing above ISO burning software, right click on the Knoppix ISO file > copy the Image to a CD.
    Knoppix is not installed on your PC; use only the resources of your PC, RAM, graphics etc.
    Change the boot order in YOUR computer/laptop to the CD/DVD Drive 1st in the boot order.
    Plug a Flash Drive/Memory Stick, BOOT with the Live CD, and you should be able to read the hard drive.
    When the desktop loads, you will see at least two drive hard icons on the desktop (one for your hard drive) and one for the USB key.
    Click on the icons of hard drive to open and to understand which drive is which.
    Click the icon for the USB drive and click on "Actions > Change the read/write mode" so you can write to disk (it is read-only by default for security reasons).
    Now to find the files you want to back up, just drag and drop them on the USB. When you're done, shut down the system and remove the USB key.
    See you soon.
  • ACPI.sys corrupted at startup disk on the black screen windows
    When I start my computer normally all I get is a black screen with my cursor on it before I reach the log on screen (but after normal of the windows startup process).  I tried Ctrl alt del and nothing happens, there is no beep or anything along those lines is.  I tried safe mode, but exactly the same thing happens, I get a black screen with white inscription around the edges, telling me that I'm in safe mode and my slider is still there and moves, but other then that is all black screen.  Ctrl alt delete doesn't work or any other key press on that I skipped.  I put in my windows XP CD and he would try to repair or reinstall the operating system but when I boot on the CD, it starts to load normally and then stops and gives me the error message "the acpi.sys file is corrupted.  Press a key to continue' when I press any button it goes upwards and brings back me to the black screen with the cursor.  I tried to go into the BIOS and turn off acpi but the loading and the startup disk produce the exact same results any bios settings I try.  Any help would be appreciated, either for obtaining windows at startup after the black screen without the startup disk or get me to the point where I can still use the CD (which I should mention that I have used before and it worked well, is the one responsible for my windows XP in the first place and who is clean and scratch free).  Thank you for any help or advice.  Oh, and I must add that I have installed any new software or whatever it is like in the last month or two, so I don't think it is something like that.
  • HP Pavilion HPE h8 - 1213c: black screen of death because of the new graphics card (EVGA geforce gtx 960)
    I just bought a new card (EVGA geforce gtx 960) to kick some butt. But during installation, it seems to be held on a black screen of death? Not the most fun to see... in any case, I had asked the store clerk if it would work and he said to, but it doesn't seem like it does... Is there a new BIOS I should download or something? Any help would be nice...:.
    My computer is a HP Pavilion HPE h8 - 1213c
    The graphics card is an EVGA geforce gtx 960
    If you have both. You can use one or. PIN 8 can be used as a 6 pin as well.
  • Pavilion dv6 - 3227cl laptop entertainment puts but has only a black screen
    HP Pavilion DV6 - 3227cl Entertainment Notebook, which is about 2 years old and works on Windows 7 Home Premium, AMD Vision Premium, will to power, but not start.  The fan works and the "caps lock" flashes once approximately every 4 seconds, but all I get is a black screen with no error message or the cursor.  There are no beeps.  The power led lights (white) for about a second, then turns to a dim orange when the battery is installed, but remains white when the battery is removed.  However, the two lights (I'm not sure what they are for) next to the nearest port USB power light lights up as follows: one on the left (as you are looking at the right side of the laptop) is white; the right one is orange.  Both are fully illuminated, (not vaguely that the power light).  The power light is not as bright as the other indicator white located near the USB port.  The laptop started and seemed to be running once since this problem started, but I was not able to start again.  I'm told the battery is bad (it's my brother in law book), but it is possible that the problem is with the power source rather than the processor or motherboard?  I appreciate your comments/advice about this.  Thank you.
    Hi fejevitzky,
    Your question, "according to that, I think you're telling me you don't think it's the BIOS - is that correct?" Yes, as long as you don't see any "white" light reveals LCD bezel back while with the State of the white screen. Bezel LCD's coverage around LCD, most design put modeule LED in the lower corner next to the LCD. While the backlight is not during the boot sequence, which means system doesn't have chance to get BIOS current enforcement program. It also means, he stuck to the condition of the equipment to set up. Normally this motherboard related.
    After I turn on its a black screen, caps lock flashes 3times, function f12 key wifi signal. But the machine still works (I can hear the sound).
    Appreciated if someone could help. Thanks in advance
    Hello
    First of all, regarding the manual of maintenance on the link below--remove and reposition your bars of memory.
    If the above makes no difference try the following.
    Again, regards to the manual on the link below, delete one of your modules from memory and then see if the computer will start.  If it doesn't, try the same module, but in another location.  If it is still won't start, try the other memory module in both slots, to see if any combination will allow the laptop to boot up normally.
    The procedure for withdrawal of these modules is detailed from Page 63 of your & Maintenance Guide.
    Checked
    Adapter CA / CC -works great
    BATTERY - does not load
    IT worked well had no warning on the battery (after a few days after the above mentioned problem I realized the battery does not charge)
    Interpreted Power Reset
    RAM (Memmory modules) -replaced New One (4 GB)
    It is based on the sequence of flashing of LED Memmory module errors. Reseating the modules memmory (2 GB + 2 GB) doesn't seem to work so I replaced it with a new (4 GB).
    I hope that this has nothing to do with the battery. This does not solve the problem.
    Appreciated if someone could help. Thanks in advance
    Hello
    Unfortunately the "blink" codes are not always an accurate indication of the actual error, so this may be one hardware failure of another component on the motherboard.
    Try the following.
    Shut down the laptop, unplug the AC adapter and remove the battery.  Follow the procedure begins on Page 52 of your Interview Guide & Service to remove the battery from the RTC.
    Press and hold power for 30 seconds and then leave the laptop for 15 minutes.
    Exchange your module memory 4 GB in the other available slot.  Reinsert the RTC battery, replace the cover, plug the power adapter ( Let the main battery at the moment ) and try to start the laptop.
    Any change?
  • ASUS GeForce GTX 750TI install on Pavilion P6 2010UK leads to 3 beeps and black screen
    Hello
    I recently tried to install a 750TI Asus GeForce GTX on my HP Pavilion P6 2010UK using a SATA 6-pin PCI Express power connector, but after starting I get three beeps and a black screen. Can someone help me with this please?
    As an observation, the PC was working fine before you install the new card.
    Hello
    Many of the graphics cards NVIDIA GTX 750 will not work in the HP PC that do not have a BIOS version 8.  Your PC has a BIOS version 7 and I do not expect HP to publish a version 8 BIOS for your PC.
    Return the card and try one of the models that should run on a PC equipped with a legacy BIOS.
  • New Hp pavilion touchsmart shows a black screen after login
    I just bought a new Hp pavilion computer printer portable all-in-one laptop / tablet that runs windows 8. It worked perfectly well until now.
    The laptop starts fine, the hp displayed logo and the login screen is displayed. After that I entered the password, it begins to load but then becomes just a black screen. My cursor is visible, but nothing else happens.
    I restarted the laptop several times. Help, please. Thank you.
    Hi all
    Please use F11, press it all right after the startup of the device. Press several times to ensure that you access the Recovery Manager.
    Then, when you're there, select the language in the first screen and then "troubleshooting." Then select advanced options. In this menu, select System Restore, to restore your system to a date before the show began.
    In case you have no restore points, in the section "Troubleshooting" menu, select "System Refresh", it reinstalls the system without erasing your data.
    In which case you can start in safe mode, try to search for a program called "SearchProtect" and if you find it, try to uninstall it.
    Let me know the results of the above suggestions.
    Thank you
    I'm guessing that you have reinstalled Windows from a DVD, right?
    Your PC came with a version of HP OEM of Windows preinstalled, and it is the only version guaranteed to work on this unit.
    You should consider reinstalling using HP recovery media to operate again.  It's a set of DVD and a CD that will erase the hard drive (removing all data, applications and settings, reinstall the original OS, drivers and utilities for HP. In some cases, you will be able to order a USB instead of discs.  You must order at HP; they cannot be downloaded.
    You can look online for recovery from the paged media related: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers
    Once there, enter your product name or number. On your software page and download the drivers, select your operating system and version. Click on "Update".  If the HP recovery support is available for your computer, down near the bottom of the page, you will see an entry for the command Recovery Media-CD/DVD/USB. Click on the symbol '+' to expand this entty and click on order to press for more details.
    Or, if you prefer, you can do the same by contacting HP Customer Service:
    If you live in the United States or the Canada, details are on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/phone-assist.html#section1
    If you live elsewhere, contact details are on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html
    Note that if HP no longer provides a recovery media for your model, a few other sites, you can check are: http://www.computersurgeons.com/ and http://www.restoredisks.com/
    Don't forget to read through the material in the linked thread before attempting the recovery: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00707939
    Good luck
