BlackBerry Smartphones 9100 internal Flash not regarded as mass storage device

BB 9100 (OS5) when connected to the laptop USB does not show memory internal player "Blackberry1. Only media card shows as drive "Blackberry user tools.

Tried it on WIN XP and WIN7 and get the same results.

Synchronization with DTM 6 works fine. Driver USB BB Smartphone is 4.1.0.4.

My 9000 "BOLD" (OS5) and the Torch 9800 (OS6) show the internal memory and the press card as readers on the same laptop to try with the 9100.

Is the drive of "Blackberry user tools" the equivalent of what I'm used to because two separate drives on the "BOLD" and the torch?

Is this unique to the Pearl? Someone else?

So, Yes, this is part of the 256 MB memory unit.  It's the same memory used for the operating system.  I do not recommend to use in any storage media or documents.  Make sure that almost everything is recorded on the press card.  In otherwise you will fill the memory of your device and eventually the operating system will remove the logs of calls, emails, texts, etc.

Your 9000 (as well as some other features) boasts an additional memory location that works as a multimedia card integrated.  It's different than the 256 MB memory unit on your 9100.

  • BlackBerry smartphones abandon the Roxio software? Is mass storage the best method for transferring multimedia files

Should I give up on Roxio software and rely solely on the method of mass storage to transfer media files?

I reinstalled several times the software, but whenever I try to use the Roxio Media Manager on my PC max CPU usage of on 100% and dies. Once, he worked - and as posted here by someone else, it seem very good - but each others times it just hangs.

After reading now widely through this site and several others, it seems there are serious issues with Roxio. So my question for those of you with BB9000 more time under your belt: do I persevere with Roxio or give up and just rely on mass storage? It looks not pretty, but I moved ringtones, video and photographs around smoothly.

Am I losing on the compression features in Roxio which I don't get mass storage? If this isn't the case, then my inclination is going to be drop Roxio and stick with mass memory until they fix the bugs or I see on this site a better way.

Thanks to bifocals. I used the MediaSync before and Yes you are right, this works very well for the music. I was hoping to use the Roxio to transfer (and compression) files of images, photos digital high resolution of small files just for occasional display on the BlackBerry. Œuvres drag / move, but I cannot copy a lot of pictures. Not sure if it is a compression problem or if I just need a bigger memory card? I'll keep experimenting. I hope BB/Roxio will receive enough complaints sort...

My mass storage device has been recognized in Windows 7 before with pilot USBSTOR. SYS (ver 6.1.7600.16385). However, it is not recognized more with the new driver USBSTOR. SYS (ver. 6.1.7601.17577)

My mass storage device can be recognized by Windows Vista (x 86) as a removable disk (FAT file system).

Y at - it a fix for this problem for Windows 7?

    Thank you.

Sorry I've updated my question that the current VER is 6.1.7601.17577 and it does not see my mass storage device which is a feature of WinCE 5.0 in charge of priming mode.

The previous version 6.1.7600.16385 works well because I have a test PC Win7 did not install all updates.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Media Card can not be read question - tried several 'solutions '.

This morning I look a some photos on my BlackBerry Pearl 8130 (carrier Verizon) and all of a sudden, when trackballing on a thumbnail and trying to open the photo, it just sort of frozen. She would not open the photo.  After a few seconds, the best hypothesis, I would say that 30 or less, it says "Media Card can not be Read. I went to the Options > Media Card and checked all my settings.

Map of media Support - > on

    Encryption mode - > no

    -> On mass storage support

    Enable Auto-> guest

I put the MicroSD card in the card and my laptop and he could read all the files correctly. I put on my C: drive and formatted the card in the phone. The BB gave a successful message and again, could not be Read...  I put the card (with the files back on them) in another bead and it reads the card and thin files.

This happened only once in the past and the infamous battery pull worked. I tried 10 + times now with my phone and still no luck. Whenever I left the battery longer and longer. I am sure that is not the card, and it is not stuck in mass storage Mode, since I've not directly connected the phone to the computer with the cable from the problem.

It seemed if strange could be viewing of a file on the card and then all of a sudden stop grateful the card. All the copper in the card slot rods are straight and not bent. The card is a SanDisk 1 GB.

    Any help would be appreciated.

I think you're right. I had two go wrong in mine, unrelated to the BB.

Please let us know when you get another, and we can go over the options.

Please solve this thread and open a new one when you get the card.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones my PC does NOT recognize my Blackberry Curve 8330 at all!

I'm at the end of the roll, trying to figure out this question. My Blackberry Curve 8330 just will be not recognized my Vista PC running at all.

    Here's what I know:

-My phone was purchased new may 9. It's the Verizon service, so what matters.

-My phone has a microSD inside memory card.

-(Home and car chargers) USB charge cords work to charge my phone. I see the icon taken directly to the left of the battery and it stays there until I have unplug the unit.

-I tried different USB cords to connect my phone to the PC and nothing works. When I plug in, the phone displays the icon card very briefly and then disappears. Nothing appears in the device for the USB slots Manager, either.

-All USB slots are the same, even those at the back of the computer.

-Other USB devices (iPod, for example) work very well.

-Ce How - to guide: http://supportforums.blackberry.com/rim/board/message?board.id=BlackBerryDesktopSoftware&thread.id=3...

I uninstalled Desktop Manager and installed the USB/Modem drivers (as it says). Those that I have used is worm. 4.7. still nothing. I restarted the computer and still nothing. This solved nothing. (Even used such 4.5 recommended in this thread, and it does not, either.)

What exactly should I do to get my PC recognise the Blackberry? I can't do some of the things I want to do until this issue is resolved. Because the USB port works to load, then I think that it must be my computer, but where the conflict is and how to fix it, I don't know.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Believe it or not, this problem has been resolved by the simplest of ways - simple up to what I feel embarrassed!

Know how they say when he's broke to book on I have and it works? Well I hate to be energetic on electronics, but I hit just the USB cable in the port of the BB curve. Then it started working like a charm.

All that stress and all I had to do was show some muscle.

After that it would not recognize the device in Windows as a mass storage device. This has been fixed by the backup of the memory card on the PC to save my pictures then insert into the BB and put in shape. At that time I also found instructions online to change the drive letter of the mass of the F: BB storage device a letter less used to resolve a conflict.

My BB Curve is perfect now and all we needed was the strength to fix. Again, I can't wait to beat him and mistreating my electronics but sometimes it works!

In conclusion, please don't make me feel too embarrassed lol.

  • Problem of having to re - blackBerry Smartphones format memory to use Blackberry 8330 as mass storage device

So I created it for my BB Curve 8330 (Verizon Wireless service) last night.

    • I formatted the 2 GB micro SD card
    • I changed the drive letter to avoid a conflict
    • I have all the latest updates I know from this announcement. (4.5.0.77 on the phone itself)
    • List of media cards: support 'on', 'none', Mode of mass storage card encryption mode 'on', scoped the mass storage mode when connected to 'yes '.

Everything was fine. Even had a few tunes out there to jam to.

Not even 24 hours later, I wanted to add more music and photos to personalize the BB more far. So I plug it into the PC but my computer Vista OS won't let me access the memory card. The BB has popped up on the list of drives, but if I click it, it says I need to insert a memory card into the mass storage device.

I go to the BB Desktop Manager and go to the media. I have almost the same question.

Even with a pop of the battery, check the memory card using a card reader (card is good) and the reintegration of the memory card, the problem persisted. I had to re - format the memory card on the BB again (to wipe everything), and then when I plugged in the USB cord, I could access the card again in the mass storage device.

Reformatting was not a big deal since it's not like anything on the card has not been already saved elsewhere. However, I really don't want to have to do that on a regular basis. I understand the technology hiccups every now and then, but if I have to do every time, it's going to be a pain in the rear.

So all that being said, is there something that I forgot that I need to check or trouble so I don't have to constantly re - format my memory card and re-load all on it? I have tried to do everything that I could think of and I tried searching these forums very, but I had no luck (or did not use the appropriate search string) in the generation of responses.

A card microSDHC fixed the problem. The old card memory, I got in it was a regular 2GB microSD card. I bought a 4 GB microSDHC card and the problems no longer exist.

I wanted to get a card greater new anyway, so I'm glad that all worked where I didn't have to do anything unwanted. The old card memory is great; It would be not just works perfectly in my Blackberry. I'll give it to the lovely lady of the House, who can update the 1 GB card in her phone.

  • Windows Vista does not recognize the removable storage device

    ISSUE INITIAL 2010-03-03)
    Here's the scenario:
    1. Insert the card compact flash.
2 computer recognizes the removable storage (that is, it is assigned a drive letter and appears in disk management).
    3. use the icon remove the device safely in the taskbar to stop the machine to remove safely.
    4. remove the card compact flash.
    5. Insert the compact flash card.
    6. the computer does not recognize removable storage (that is, it is not assigned a drive letter and does not appear in disk management).

The only way I can get windows to recognize the drive is to restart my computer. How can I get windows recognize the drive without having to reboot?   This problem does not occur with USB flash drives.

Windows Vista Hame Premium, 64-bit, Service Pack 2 operating system

    UPDATE (04/03/2010):
I have more information, I hope this helps to reach a solution.

-J' repeated the steps above 1 to 3, with open Device Manager.  In step 3, in the Device Manager window, the icon for the question USB mass storage device becomes the exclamation point in yellow triangle icon.  Check its properties on the tab "General", in the "Device status" box, it says: "Windows cannot use this hardware device because it has been established for"safe removal", but it has not been removed from the computer. (Code 47)  IX this problem, disconnect the device from your computer and then reconnect it.  Click on 'Search for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available. »
-J' then removed the card and rest of the error state.
-J' I re inserted the card, and rest of the error state.
-J' I then tried to update the driver by accessing the tab "driver", click on "Update driver", click on "Automatically search for an updated driver", and the result was "the best driver for your device is already installed."

I found the solution on this hp web page:
    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/document?DocName=bph07910&tmp_task=solveCategory&LC=en&DLC=en&cc=us&product=3876397&lang=en#N1074

Basically, it says NOT to use the function "remove the device safely.  Instead, just right-click on the drive in the Solution Explorer, then choose "Eject".  Works perfectly.

    Some excerpts...
"Memory card readers are devices that use the icon remove the device safely in the notification area in the taskbar). Do not click stop in the window, remove the device safely. Doing so can disconnect the card memory reader for Windows. In this case, restart the computer to reset the memory card reader. »
"An alternative to the restart of the computer is to use the option optimize for fast moving functionality in Windows.

  • Message "USB Mass Storage Device does not work properly"

Ran AVG PC tune up and referred the problem message "USB storage device work does not correctly. I went to Device Manager, clicked on "bus USB controllers. He showed the device with a yellow exclamation point USB mass storage. I have double clicked on it, went to the drivers and updated the driver. I received a message that the driver was already updated and got a message "device cannot start (code 10).»

I thought that maybe he was looking for the storage device of mass external and plugged on the USB port. He has shown in the Device Manager under the other mass storage device but had no yellow exclamation point (I guess that means it's very good).

Is there an internal procedure and what can I do about this problem? My development program, said that this mistake could cause my computer crashes often or he can go for a long time without replying (which it does).

Hate to be chatty but I wanted to present all the facts.

Can someone please help me get this figured out? Thank you in advance.

    Hello Sammy,.

Please provide detailed information about your question. I appreciate the step by step troubleshooting, and pain that you have taken to resolve your problem. However, there are a few steps more that we can try to diagnose the root cause and to check the health of your system, to solve the problem permanently.

Microsoft does not recommend using third party software melody. That running these software can damage records.

For the problem with the error code 10, I would ask you to try the steps below:

A Code 10 error is generated in the Device Manager in one of the following situations:

    1. Device Manager cannot start the device.
    2. One of the pilots who needs the unit does not start.
    3. The Device Manager has insufficient information to recognize the error that spread upwards by the device driver.

Note: In this case, the Code 10 error can be a very generic message indicating some sort of unspecified driver or device problem.

Error Code 10 is mainly related to devices and hardware driver problems or compatibility problems between the drivers of equipment and additional software that is installed in Windows. Therefore, we recommend that solve you these problems with emphasis on device drivers, configuration of device problems and hardware compatibility issues.

I suggest you to follow the steps described in the following Microsoft article and see if it works for you.

FIX: "this device cannot start" error Code 10 in the Device Manager in Windows

Hope it would help. If problem persists always post back with the current state of your computer and the result of the proposed suggestion, we will be happy to help you.

    Thank you.
