BlackBerry smartphones feeds question indicator bar

The flow along the top indicator shows the symbols to indicate new messages, new Facebook messages, etc.  When I hit the bar, he don't go to my messages, it just switches back and forth between my 'all' file and my calendar.

If I have new e-mail messages, and I type, it will correctly to my messages, but if I have that Facebook messages, it won't be them and instead of it shows just my calendar entries.  To get to my updates of Facebook, I have to go into the menu and select social RSS icon.

Does anyone else have this problem?

Everything seems to work fine now.  I get notifications in the bar of the flags and when I touch it, I see a list of messages that I can scroll.

My phone was locked, so I've turned off and took out the battery for a few seconds.  When I turned it on it worked fine!

Figured this out myself and I feel a little stupid. For the progress indicator music or video player just press the screen without clicking. Duh!

This happens usually when application runs in the background, or because of any unknown third-party application installed within our system, or due to lack of memory. Reboot to shoot some time A battery is enough to solve this problem. If press and hold the Menu for a few seconds, it will appear a screen that will display all the programs running in the background, usually five will always be there (host, BBM, Message, phone, browser) you can always check if any other applications. are running in the background, if they then close them properly.

We should always try to close Applications correctly - avoid using key end to close the applications because it just minimizes the application and let it run in the background. Instead, press the Menu key, select close or Exit to exit the application. Do not leave your browser open on a page of Web active when not in use. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

  • BlackBerry smartphones my questions on the Storm 2 9520

Hello everyone I do not have a Blackberry but I intend to update my phone soon and get a (I currently have a Nokia N95 8 GB). I looked through the list of Blackberry models, and the 9520 that I fell in love was the Storm 2 9520. I will probably get one, but I have several questions that I couldn't find clear answers on google. I'm picky about details on a phone, so I want to know everything before get you it. Here is the list of things that I had on my mind:

-J' read that this phone records videos in 3gp format and not mp4. I'm a little worried about that, because I feel 3gp is less intense than mp4 by Windows (Win 7 user here). For example, 3gp, I filmed with an old phone years ago don't even open correctly in most players and no audio. So, is the format the phone records in playable correctly in Windows (Linux too)?

-J' I always rename my pictures and my videos after taking. With the 9520, you can click a button or menu entry to rename an image / clip immediately after making it? Or they be saved with a name only automated, and you need to open your file browser and navigate to the file to be renamed?

-A curiosity, I got on the touch screen if it is based only on the detection of heat or by pressing physics too. What I've seen, the heat detection is used when you lightly touch the screen and select the stuff / drag, while only pressing is used actually click. I'm curious because I could use my phone outside in the winter when I have leather gloves, and the screen can not detect my body energy then. Of course, it is difficult to use any phone with gloves, but I sometimes do to some extent

-Use the charger micro-usb port, or another port? I know that some devices that use USB for charging and connection to the computer, which is a method that I prefer in general. No problem if it is not, just curious.

-In the specs of the phone, it says maximum 8 GB micro-SD cards are supported. Someone can confirm that more cards are inconsistent and do not work (16 / 32 GB ones)?

-J' read on a website that the only way to configure e-mail is to have a Blackberry Enterprise Server (do not exactly know what what). But you need to register with Blackberry using a classic IMAP / POP email account (like gmail or yahoo mail)? And besides, you need to register with any Blackberry service to use 3 G internet supplier or to use messenger (YIM MSN and AIM)? I'm guessing not, but always ask to be sure.

-J' heard some phones have this limit / problem, so just to be safe: can put you MP3 transferred from your computer as ringtones? Or do you need to download them online from special services, as I heard some phones force you to?

-J' read on several websites that there are complications with the installation of applications via the data cable. That's how I install most of my programs of others on phones. So if I have a jar or jad file on my desktop, is there no possible to install it via data cable unless I have an additional file with it? Same question for no java Blackberry applications.

-All Web sites mention that the OS 5 web browser does not support flash on web pages (which I find quite sad). However, I can still play the files flash directly from my phone so I just open the swf file?

-Can you play audio files in ogg / wav format? In addition, it can play video ogv, avi or mpeg?

-Can I download themes for it that change the icons and colors of the menus? I guess the definition of custom screen (independent of the subject) shouldn't be a problem. Also, is there a free software that allows you to create your own themes and exporting it to the phone via data cable?

-Are there also a front-facing camera for 3G video chat?

-J' read on the differences between the 9520 and 9550 and that the 9550 has a frequency of additional network, sure it can work. Everyone says that you can not use a Blackberry in America if you buy it in Europe, in particular the 9520. Is this true? And the more vital than the 9520 9550 compatibility?

-OS 6 will come to the 9520 too? Some sites say it won't, while than others whether in devices that it will support an update. Hope very much it will be

-Finally, this could be a sensitive issue and I don't know how poorly seen on it is here. But it's easy to unlock / debrand the 9520? I would like to get the latest versions of firmware and do not have the limited phone.

Someone mentioned the provider to branding is not done for commercial reasons, but in order to keep the compatible phone (and shouldn't even be illegal to debrand). So I think it should be ok.

Yes, they are a lot of questions that may seem ridiculous. I got this phone for several years, so I want to know all about it. Thanks to all those who can help you meet them, and keep up the good work with phones

3GP is the native video recording format. All you need is the codec on your PC to read. I downloaded a free transcoder and it not only transcode avi (and other formats) for me, but also to put the codec appropriate in what I can play natively without transcoding. QuickTime, I think a codec were also held. There are plenty of audio and the recorded video.

Hmmm... haven't really tried to do... worst case, of course you can rename them later.

In fact, storm BBs use two detection of heat as well as the physical press. It's called SurePress technology. Heat detection determines where on the screen you touch and then physical pressure activates the 'click' somehow. The entire screen is great physical button, whose activity is determined by your finger on the screen position when you press. As such, I doubt it'll work with gloves on at all. I know, on the ski slopes, I remove my glove to do something with my 9550.

On the BB, a port for all functions. Micro USB for charging and attached USB data transfer. When connected to a PC with the drivers installed, the BB will be time load (from the USB port of the PC) as well as allow the transfer of data.

Technically, the BB model is unrelated to the size of the SD card, it supports. It is rather a function of the OS level that the BB is running according to the instructions this KB:

What this site is fake. If you happen to be in a business with BES (or purchase hosted BES) environment, you can indeed have the enhanced features that allow only to BES. I've never tried it myself, but I'm sure you can define file types to be ringtones to several media.

Yes, you can download themes (I have to admit no experience with this...) I found no need to use themes that I need my BB to feature what I need... themes he dressed simply in my humble OPINION). I have no idea on how to create themes.

This issue is not that I consider as responsible. Everyone has their particular circumstances they need to meet. The features of the search machine and the frequency ranges of carriers that you want to run. Then choose the device that fits your specific needs.

With the series Storm conspicuous by their absence, I consider any current to be candidates for the OS6.0 storms. But it is indeed in my humble OPINION.

Hmmm... release information can be found here:

But I'm not sure of your premises. You seem to be saying that you are locked in your level of update of carriers, as long as your BB is blocked. This is false. Unlocking is simply the function to allow your BB run on a network of different carriers... at the level of the BONE is irrelevant to that. You are free to use the carriers released OS for your specific model BB... There is just a tiny thing that you need to follow. But unlocking is not necessary to do so. There's nothing illegal or anything about unlocking. But it is useless unless and until you want to reverse your BB to another carrier.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Feeds indicator bar problem

Hi all, I just of had a curve to a torch and am having a problem with my new camera.  When I get a new BBM message or voicemail msg, the icon on the bar indication of flow.  When I press on the bar, it takes me to a screen showing my calendar?  Should not show the BBM msg I received and also the voicemail msg?  Instead, I find the app and this msg BBM access mode.  That is not normal, is it?   Thanks in advance.

Drop-down menu displays the next 3 calendar events, as well as all new messages (email, SMS, BBM) which are grouped under the generic "Messages" folder.

To add BBM messages, open BBM, go to Options, do scroll down and check "Show of cats in the messages app.

To have e-mail or SMS (including notifications of vmail) show, go to Messages > Options > Inbox management. Check all the items you want to appear in the folder messages & notification down. (Select SMS for SMS/vmail notifications.)

  • BlackBerry Smartphone email question

I am a new user of blackberry and you have the 8830 World Edition.

I want to tell her to NOT download e-mail unless I he REQUEST.  I found an option in help who said that I could tell him not to do so when it was connected (charge), but this option does not seem to exist on my Blackberry Desktop program (where he says, ' I want to find an option to e-mail).

Any advice on how I can do this?  I don't want to download my email all the time - only when I'm out of the House.  In this way, it is not complete the blackberry with a ton of e-mail.

Also, is there a way to delete all your messages quickly, except button menu for each email and him asking to delete it?

    Thank you!

1 not easily. There is not a setting ON the device to "do not download email. On the one hand, the BlackBerry, is not 'Download' email, he is "pushed" to your device on a regular basis, without your intervention. It is the glory of push email RIM that has put the company on the plan. You're used to the old style (and do not do well) method of Palm or WinMo where you laboriously tell the device to retrieve and download all new messages.

You can the people with reduced mobility and reactivate your e-mail settings in the connection to the BIS account where you configure the e-mail account... but this isn't a good option.

    2. Yes. You can set your device to automatically delete messages when you press DELETE and then not ask for confirmation.

Messages folder > Menu key (to the left of the trackball) > Options > General Options > delete = no

Also, you can delete several adjacent messages by scrolling to the first delete and then pressing the SHIFT key (lower-left) and scrolling upwards or downwards to the walls messages. Press the delete key. Went.

OR by scrolling to any date separator bar in the list of messages by pressing Menu > delete prior.

May I suggest you look at www.stinsonddog.com and download the PDF file for the device advice 8800 at the bottom of the page. These and MANY more basic fundamental questions is studied it. After reading it, you'll feel like a PRO. Print the document and read and practicing the tips on the device while reading it.

  • -Pink blackBerry Smartphones Wet - battery indicator it will damage new phone?

I sent my 8330 to the bottom of the pool.  Tried this drying and got the red light, but that's all.  It took my provider (Verizon) and the tech looked inside my BB and on the basis of my battery and I saw Pink indicators on both - so tell me BB and battery is toast and I need to order new ones.  QUESTION: if I try to use the indicator rose w battery in my new BB, am I risking?  I would like to avoid buying new batteries, but don't want to spoil the new BB!

I recommend you take the battery to the repair shop and to check his blood pressure and other characteristics.

Moisture can damage the internal components of the battery, and this damaged battery can damage braces.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones two Questions about BlackBerry Curve 8310

Don't know if anyone can help, but I'm stumped.

The first question has to do with the Messages folder.  I want my emails to show up ONLY in the e-mail folders.  I don't want the Messages folder to include e-mails (so don't want to be notified whenever I get a new email).  Is this possible?  I tried going the Messaging Options and to crack the SMS and email boxes, but then when I go to the folder of Messages from the hand of screen it displays only e-mail messages (I have to press the menu button, then select SMS Inbox to display SMS messages).  I don't want e-mails during the message folder.  Is this possible?

Second question has to do with the deletion of multiple messages.  Now, I have to delete messages one at a time.  Is it possible to select multiple messages to delete?

And that means in fact 'reconciliation' (guess I have three questions)?

Thank you very much for your help!

For the first question, this can do what you want (this will stop the notification for email and SMS, but your SMS icon will always have the "red sprocket wheel" when you receive a new SMS).

First, separate you SMS and email inboxes:

    1. go to Messages (Inbox)

    2. press the Option key

    3. press on the 'o' key, then the trackball

    4. press on the trackball to go to the General Options

5 scroll to the display new Message indicator, press the trackball, highlight No. and press the trackball

    6. turn highlighted SMS and email inboxes, press the trackball, separate highlight and press the trackball

    7. press the ESC key (right), scroll to save and press the trackball

    8. press ESC to return to the Office on

This will display the Message icon and a new SMS and MMS Inbox.

Now, move the Message icon, press the Option key and select hide and press the trackball.  Now the only icon that you have is the SMS and MMS Inbox and there a red gear wheel whenever you have a new SMS or MMS.  Not exactly what you want but a possible work around.  Unfortunately the new message indicator is for emails, SMS and MMS with no way to separate.

    I hope this helps.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones newby questions

I just took a Curve 8330.  It's very different from what I'm used to, and so I have a few questions.

    1. I use Outlook Express to my main e-mail address.  It doesn't have a fixed schedule.  Does anyone have a suggestion as to what I should look for in a calendar that I can sync the BB to?  Is there a recommendation on a particular calendar?

    2. I probably exaggerated email accounts on my BB, but at this stage I am not prepared to cancel because of personal and professional e-mails on the BB.  Am I missing something?  Seems to me that I should be able, through BlackBerry Desktop Manager, go to my BB and delete e-mail messages using my PC.

    3. I can't use the Application Loader for the 8330.  The message is «BlackBerry Desktop Software has no peripheral BB software for the device you have connected to the computer...» "When I check updates is not one for the 8330.  I went to Verizon.  They say they get the BB site update.  Is there another way to get the update of the software?  Is there another way to download apps?

    4. I looked on the BB site for an email about these issues, but cannot find the link.  Where is - am I on it?

then the rest of the list as an attachment service, Messenger, video, brickbreaker, browser, notebook, etc., etc., all say bb 4.2.2.

My BlackBerry 8310 is brand new... since yesterday... why would I receive a 4.2 old BONES?

So... what I can run a 4 GB, or am I limited to 2 GB?

Do you give such a concrete response,

    JO

    Hello

If you plan to upgrade the operating system as soon as it comes out, you can save yourself money,

Install the card 8 GB, the BB will recognize only 4 MB, due to your current operating system. When you upgrade,

the full 8 GB will be recognized. It's that you have to buy a memory card.

Please let me know if it helps!

    Thank you

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Newbie question Outlook synchronization...

I know, I know you crackberry Masters must make fun of my basic question, but it drives me crazy.

I want to curve. I'll use it for personal and business email accounts. Work email is through MS Exchange. I can access my email using Microsoft Outlook Web Access. Our server does not have this fancy/expensive Blackberry Enterprise Software Solution.

Can I still sync my email to my Blackberry Wireless and untethered work? What are the downsides to not have the fancy software / expensive?

You'll be always my friend, if you can answer this fundamental question in simple terms.

    Hi anrobb!

You will be able to receive your email wireless without the BlackBerry Enterprise Solution (BES). You can use the BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) to deliver your email. There are two ways this can be accomplished:

1-direct integration of your account Outlook Web Access (OWA). Here, you must create an BIS account and enter your information to OWA, such as the web address of the OWA server, your email address, mailbox name and password. BIS will use this information to analyze your mailbox for new messages at a time interval determined (basically every 15 minutes) and send it to all new mail he sees to your BlackBerry.

    2. create a hosted mailbox and set up a redirection rule. Most (if not all) carriers offer only a free hosted BlackBerry e-mail address when you have a BlackBerry plan. For example, a customer of Verizon could create an email [email protected]. E-mail messages that are sent to these hosted email addresses are pushed to the device, so they come almost in real time. Once you have set up, hosted email address you (or your IT staff) define a redirection rule in your mail server to forward a copy of all new messages to the hosted e-mail address. The next step would be to connect to your BIS account and modify the reply-to field to be your professional email address. This it will bring up that the emails sent from your BlackBerry come from your work email.

A difference in the use of the use of BIS on BES is that you cannot synchronize wireless your address book, calendar, notes and them tasks with BIS - you will need to connect to a computer. BES offers many other features as well, but I won't get it here.

    See you soon!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Basic Question backup - how to respond to the choices on BlackBerry?

When I plug the USB cable into my "BOLD" and it connects to my PC, I get a box of dialogue on the "BOLD" that says "Blackberry is plugged" and he gives me three choices: 1. USB Drive 2. The Media Sync or Charge only 3.  I have never known to choose because I want to do is to back up my BlackBerry with Desktop Manager, so I usually just ignore the dialog box.

That is what I'm supposed to do?  Or choose one of the three choices each time?

Sorry for the stupid question - but I never knew how to deal with this.  I have a Bold 9900 running 7.1.0.284 and Office Manager 6.1.0.36.

In fact, it is not really important, but it works.
