BlackBerry Smartphones water damaged phone has bad signal

My 9790 "BOLD" age of 6 months of BB washed. I had fixed and everything worked perfectly, except for the bad signal (most of the non-existent time)! I never had problems before water damage. Now I have to put my phone on specific points, the specific angles and then only, it will pick up signal with maximum 3 stripes. If anyone phones, I can't talk to them, cause now I pick up the phone, the signal goes into SOS mode or network research. I brought back to the guy who fixed it, and it replaced the ariel, without success. Any other suggestions? I still have the contract of 15 months left!

Physical repairs are problematic, especially on a device that has been damaged by water, you never know if indeed you have solved all the problems caused by moisture or water. And dried water in a device may leave behind the salts and minerals on the circuit, which can cause problems six months later and are not detectable today.

You might be better to start with a new device.

    Welcome to the community

You can try a battery pull reboot, but I suggest you contact your Airtel carrier and get a new SIM card. The problem may be in the SIM card.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Documents To Go has disappeared!

    Hi all

Great forum by the way, I see myself spend some time here in the future.

I recently got a Blackberry Storm and I think I'm dealing with it pretty good (or maybe not haha).  I am an engineer of commercial systems and make a wide use or word, powerpoint, etc. and it would be useful to be able to open it on my phone as and when I get info sent to me... then... I started to look at the Documents To Go.

However, I started to fall last night and it alerted me an update, fair enough I think, might as well get the version the most up-to-date.  I went through the process of registration and update to get the free trial version and that seems to work well.

But I can't now find Documents To Go anywhere on the phone!

It is not listed in the Applications or under the Application Center?  I downloaded the update via GPRS (have a bad signal to the House) and it was reported as fact.

If I connect the phone to my PC and go through the Application Loader to update / install the software then Documents To Go is listed, but it is said he will downgrade to the version originally installed.  This may well make back (and visible) on the phone but it does not solve the problem that I can't find now.

Any help or pointers would be much appreciated.

    See you soon

With the BlackBerry device powered time, remove battery for a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to restart.

You have to go back again.

You could go back to DM and downgrade D2G to the old version, but it should be on your device.

Look at the Options > advanced > Applications. It appears?

  • Data not updated blackBerry Smartphones when inactive phone

    Hi all

Recently, I removed my main of my device e-mail address while he is on vacation.

I just put back it, but now I find that data (emails and BBM) are not updated when the phone was in bag for awhile.

If I put myself in response to or sending emails or BBM of unit all starts update again and all emails in circulation and BMMs come out at the same time.

Everything working the normal flow is restored, but after being in the Pocket for awhile everything stops again.

    Any ideas?

I noticed the problem when I started getting these archaic messages called SMS asking me why I do not answer to my BBM... naturally the idea of not receiving them is scaring me senseless!

    Kind regards

Hi and welcome to the forums!

We need to know what version of the software on your device.

Check the version of operating system of the device, and then use the correct steps to register your device. Basically, you refresh your network connection and the software to control the connection on your device.

    Thank you

REMOVE THE BATTERY FROM YOUR BB NOW!

Run, don't walk, to this FAQ:

Do what it says, including the maximum recommended wait time (or even more for a long time... maybe 5 days). Marketing your BB between her getting wet and do this process reduces the chances of success. In addition, the only predictable thing in the intrusion of moisture in a BB (indeed, any electronic device) is that the results will be unpredictable. I've seen some return immediately and be well. I have seen that others do not work. I've seen more a little run and then die later. And every thing in between.

  • BlackBerry Pearl 8120 Smartphones - water damage

I have a Pearl 8120 with a brief exposure to water.  I've read other messages on how to dry (place in rice for several days to dry completely) bought a new battery and charged the battery using an old BlackBerry to 100%.  Now when I reinsert the battery I get the picture of a battery icon with a diagonal red line through it.  I left it together all night connected to the wall charger, removed the battery, he reintroduced, still have the icon.  My phone is completely fried?

Thank you very much.  I took it and of course, they said that it was corroded irreparably (amazing for such brief exposure)!  Next time, my phone is clear water!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones battery damaged by viruses - True or False

I recently received a message from the screen "warning system, Blackberry Priv is infected by the virus and has been damaged" when I close this message that it takes me to the game of Google to download an app called battery saver battery saver of THE & phone charger. Is this real or just a phishing app?

Hello and welcome to the community!

If this is the only symptom that you have, then I would infer is that you think... a phishing attempt. But, if you have other symptoms or other indicators that you have not specified, then this assumption can change. For example, this is passed just before it began? A newly installed application? Some update of a certain type? Something else?

Only you can decide if you believe this to be true.

  • BlackBerry smartphones had my phone 5 minutes and it already broke

So my last blackberry which was exactly the same model (9360) was broken, so I called my provider and they sent me a new handset today and I just put my phone and he broke already, the first thing I noticed was wrong with it was after about 1 minute to have, when it wouldn't let me scroll among the trays with all the applications on the top bar where I can access to the options and then he decided to work but it froze quickly again, this time the trackpad was paralyzed and I could not scroll at all, but the phone it's self has not been frozen because I could always select return etc.

I tried the battery pull and has not always helped and I'm about to throw my phone out the window...

Is that what I can do to fix this problem or do I call BACK to the top of my career and have ANOTHER replacement sent to me after not even half an hour to receive my first replacement?

I would like to do a reboot on the BlackBerry this way simple: with smart BlackBerry poweredphone, remove the battery for a minute and then reinsert the battery to restart.

Then after that it is clearly restarted, leaving the camera for five minutes for the activity of initial data stop and the device should be usable.

I hope that you have not received a replacement with a bad trackpad, but if you have, you definitely have a grievance with your mobile operator for replacement and get an Exchange once more. Sometimes things are just snake bit.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones BBM on curve 9320 - bad behavior

Son of 9320, on a Virgin Mobile (Canada) plan will not let him use BBM on wifi. The app insists on finding a "data connection". We do not have a data plan. I use BBM on my Android phone using wifi. I find it strange that a native app on Blackberry does not work correctly.

Can someone enlighten me please. There must be a solution.

Thanks - sent from my orphans but still cool PlayBook

    Hello

In fact, what you describe is WAD - working as designed. Only via the newer devices (BB10, no BB Android and iOS) BBM and other exclusive services BB can be used without a proper data of the mobile operator plan. BBs inherited, such as your son, need a plan of data by the carrier, even if the use is strictly via WiFi. It's just the way things are legacy devices (the full explanation is much longer... If you want, just ask).

I hope that your operator has a plan very inexpensive which will just BBM and perhaps other social networking services... but only they can answer as to what services they offer through their data of different plans.

    Good luck!

  • Update device software BOLD 9780 blackBerry smartphone does my phone useless

I upgraded my software for phones device yesterday after receiving a message to HIGH PRIORITY of my service provider to make a upgrade(EE/Orange). They stated that it was a mandatory update for Blackberry.

After trying for hours to do on the network, it did not indicate "can't connect to the server upodate, please upgrade using your PC using Blackberry Desktop Manager".

    This was my next step.

    * I have backed up my device (yesterday) via BDM (desktop Manager)

    * Click on search updates

    * follow all the links on my BOLD 9780 device through blackberry Web site

    * Click on the link to check my device to update, get informed me "an update is available"

    * A method to update.

The update returned with an error stating: "Options only 19 times out of 20 have been restored"

Since then, my phone is unusable. The menu freezes, I can't highlight the options I get no blue outline around the menu options. my text does not work, I can not enter anything, type anything, the phone is constantly freezing and reset.

I tried to reinstall the update that crashed the phone completely with "" "white screen of death'" ' showing error 507...  Please visit www.blackberry.com/507

    This page does not exist!

I tried again to make an update and got my phone back, but with all the same problems of menu.

I did restore my device from yesterday. Got my return of data personal, but phone still jumps in all directions, text messaging does not at all.

I unplugged the battery lasts repeatedly reset and soft reset.

I tried again to reinstall several times the device software and useless.

I haved called my service provider and they said his broken blackberry, name of the contact.

I contacted blackberry support pay crisis (01753 558410). They me redirected to support orange tech who were still more useless than before!

they gave me the web address: http://uk.blackberry.com/support which was not helpful

So I did spend the whole day. Finally, picking at the drop of water that brings me here (even tried twitter!)

I can't do yet a security wipe because I can not enter "blackberry" because he is back with "input error, field application for closure" and even if I type, I can not see the text and continue by clicking on "wipe security."

    current software status is:

    B.O.S. 6.0 bundle 2949

    V6.0.0.668

    platform 6.6.0.236

    PLEASE HELP ME!

My phone worked ok before that!

    A little advice.

Not to go near the upgrade:

    9780jAllLang_PBr6.0.0_rel2949_PL6.6.0.236_A6.0.0.668_Orange_UK

    For 9780's "BOLD"

    use:

    9780M_PBr6.0.0_rel3170_PL6.6.0.252_A6.0.0.756_Vodafone_Spain

After BBSAk to wipe your phone.

It works it seems so far... perfectly...

There may be bugs in rel 2949

  • BlackBerry® Smartphones Pearl 8100 phone deletes text and e-mail below 400 k, 'known problem '?

I have a memory card & everything I can possibly put out there is stored there (music, photos, etc.).  I have deleted a large number of programs supplied with the phone to free up memory & have added only Facebook & a Sudoku game. I called technical support for my service provider (T-mobile) and I described my problem to them.  They walked me through how to delete my browser cache & Facebook, so I now do it on a regular basis.  I had summer through my text messages and delete the ones on a basis regular, with maybe 3 saved max.   Support says that my phone will start automatically remove my text every time messages that my free files is lower to 400,000.  My question is, what am I missing?  What else is eating my free files?  Today, I always had to take the battery out of my phone and it reboot because it says my free files sucked!  When it was done to reboot itself, it had 11 million free files!  What is the problem with this phone?  I have the latest version of the software I can get, which is a version of 4.2 because I said that T-mobile will not support the 4.3 (extremely frustrating because all the cool stuff to download requires 4.3).  I told that I qualify for a new phone without penalty in August... Should I just hard out and switch to a curve?  New models are pearls less buggy?  I really like the Pearl it corresponds very well in my hand and can easily fit in my pocket, but the function is SO much more important than fashion.

Thanks to all those who can answer me with a better solution, or who has had experience with the Pearl & T-mobile.

I used to use a BlackBerry Pearl, myself and many loved.  I found this article on the site Web of BlackBerry that can troubleshoot and it seems that some of the suggestions that you already follow:

  • Using blackBerry Smartphones, unlock and 'edge' next to signal

I bought a used blackberry bold 9700 (locked to t-mobile) I received and code release and it worked. I now have my ATT sim inside the phone card. It allows me to sms and browse internet, telephone etc. But at the top it says 'edge '. However, it won't let me set up an email that he said "your device had a problem connecting to the server"... Also not show the BB app world, or let me download apps. Can someone please help me if I can use the blackberry, the way it was intended. As another note, I get a text from 1121611611 + message saying "122 error number not valid. Please return using the valid or valid 10-digit mobile number short code. Activate t = 6 "... I hope this is enough information to get help, if y ' all need nothing else to help fully solve this problem, ask and I will provide. Thank you

Do you have a data Plan BlackBerry enabled on your account with your carrier or mobile provider? You have to, to get the push RIM email functions you are looking for, as well as services of BlackBerry data such as the Web browser, Facebook for BlackBerry, BlackBerry Messenger and much more.

Then call your carrier and you learn about to have added to your account BlackBerry data Plan.

Please note, using a 9700 on ATT Tmobile you will not get a 3G signal, and 'EDGE' is the best you can expect. Two different carriers use two different bandwidths of 3G, but share the same bands 'EDGE '.

It is my understanding that the SMS you receive is linked to the former 5Favs from TMobile on the device or the visual voicemail on the device.

First, to get your installer of data get your BlackBerry BIS data plan for the device, then we will deal with this SMS message later, if it persists.

    Good luck.
