I understand that you are looking for help on how to replace your existing wireless network adapter or add something to support the 5 GHz band. I'm happy to help you with this.

  Service and maintenance guides available and put at level of guides for this system offer no wireless adapters. The simplest solution I can suggest would be an adapter USB dual band WLAN.  There are many benefits to this choice. It is easier to install, it's easy to transfer to another device if necessary, and they can be very economical.

  I'd say a bit of research online for this type of device, to see what is available.

  Do you have the software with it?

  Bought 14z 5423 as new year clearance stock. Running windows 7 sp1 and have updated from dw1703 to 9.2.0.512 device driver (last available for 5423 on windows 7). Can connect to the router 802.11 g more, but fails to connect with the access point (Belkin Surf N300) on 802.11n. There is no problem with access point can connect to several other devices including XPS L502x. have followed the advice of other positions, including the definition of power option of the wireless adapter for maximum Performance. Also all 802.11n bandwidth of 20 Mhz/40 Mhz automatic option. Symptom of problem: 1. The SID for an access point is displayed only after you restart the computer. 2. double click on the access point allows me to enter security key 3.   Thanks for the quick response. I use Norton 360 first. I tried to disable the firewall, but still the SID for the Belkin access point only appears after a restart and fails to connect after you enter the security key. No problem with the billion router plus 802.11 g.

  After a few experiences, I realized that the dw1703 works on channels near 2.4 Ghz.  After I changed the access point to connect to channel 7, I can now see the SSID and connect without any problems.

  I had some problems with my internet and everything trying to solve this problem, somehow I uninstalled my network card and its drivers.

  After that (I reinstalled several times), unit is here, but it says in Device Manager that is activated, but when I go to the device in network settings, it says that it is diseblaed and its painted in grey (I clicked, window opens saying "enabaling"... but nothing happens after that). Also, I know that of not work beacause it does not find my home WIFI network and other devices in the House are connected to the home network. In the right corner of the screen there is red ' x'.

  Also, when I run windows repair to see what is the problem of network it says that my network card is probably bad drivers and I should change that.

  I tried a lot of drivers for broadcom 802.11n on the internet, but nothing seems to work.

  The real problem was antivirus, I uninstalled Zone Alarm security and now I have internet!

  I have a HP Pavilion dv6t-7000, equipped with the Ralink RT5390R wireless adapter.  For the life of me, I can't get it to connect to my home network when implemented as 802.11n.  They connect other devices. If I change my router 802.11 g, but no other change, doe HP connect. But if I return the router to 802.11n, HP sees the network, and it correctly identifies as a 802.11n network, but does not connect.

  The router is a D - Link DIR-615 (N300 2.4 ghz)

  Found a solution.  Both HP and windows said I had the most current drivers, but this HP forum had a link to a newer driver.  Installed and it worked.

  I recommend you to go back and do a system restore to a point before started to install the automatic updates, and where worked the wireless.

  Then download this tool that stops updates to install automatically.

  Hide all of them and then install one by one until you find the one that is to destroy the wireless connection.

  When you have found the culprit just hide it again and it will not be installed.

  You can create a system restore point each time you install an update.

  Tedious, but you should get where you want to be.
