Broadband double (802.11n, WMP600N)

Hello!

How can I be sure that the adapter (Linksys WMP600N) using dual-bandiwidth(both ~2.4ghz and 5ghz) connection? I have router (asus RT-N56U) witch is supported by the two frequenzes (and have) and I checked in the config-tool(traffic monitor) that there are only 2.4 ghz traffic. I tried to transfer files from my desktop PC to my laptop via a router and at the same time surf the Internet very strongly, but there is still no traffic 5 GHz at all. Any ideas? =)

-Sebastian-

WMP600N is a dual band wireless adapter. It will connect to the two bands at the same time. It will connect broadband wireless for 2.4 GHZ or 5 GHz at the same time. If you are connected to wireless 2.4 Ghz band you will get traffic only 2.4 GHz.

Can I physically replace or add anything to connect to 5G?

    Hi there @tiggerchris

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! It's a good place to find the help you need, other users, the HP experts and other members of the support staff. I understand that you are looking for help on how to replace your existing wireless network adapter or add something to support the 5 GHz band. I'm happy to help you with this.

Service and maintenance guides available and put at level of guides for this system offer no wireless adapters. The simplest solution I can suggest would be an adapter USB dual band WLAN.  There are many benefits to this choice. It is easier to install, it's easy to transfer to another device if necessary, and they can be very economical.

I'd say a bit of research online for this type of device, to see what is available.

    I hope this helps.

No, it supports only 2.4 GHz. The card is only a single band:

  • Unable to connect 802.11n of 5423 Inspiron 14z

Bought 14z 5423 as new year clearance stock. Running windows 7 sp1 and have updated from dw1703 to 9.2.0.512 device driver (last available for 5423 on windows 7). Can connect to the router 802.11 g more, but fails to connect with the access point (Belkin Surf N300) on 802.11n. There is no problem with access point can connect to several other devices including XPS L502x. have followed the advice of other positions, including the definition of power option of the wireless adapter for maximum Performance. Also all 802.11n bandwidth of 20 Mhz/40 Mhz automatic option. Symptom of problem: 1. The SID for an access point is displayed only after you restart the computer. 2. double click on the access point allows me to enter security key 3. After failing to connect, the SID for access point disappears from the list appreciate any assistance.

Thanks for the quick response. I use Norton 360 first. I tried to disable the firewall, but still the SID for the Belkin access point only appears after a restart and fails to connect after you enter the security key. No problem with the billion router plus 802.11 g.

After a few experiences, I realized that the dw1703 works on channels near 2.4 Ghz.  After I changed the access point to connect to channel 7, I can now see the SSID and connect without any problems.

  • Do a factory reset on my AirPort Extreme 802.11n resets my country code?

Do a factory reset on my AirPort Extreme 802.11n resets my country code?

Wireless Diagnostics warns on codes of countries in conflict.

I ve got an AirPort Express 802.11n and an AirPort Extreme 802.11n

The country code of the Airport Express is ok, but Airport Extreme shows me different options.

    Any suggestions?

    Please

A factory default reset will set the area code of the AirPort Extreme back to the initial setting that it was when it was new, but this should not be necessary because you can change the country setting without having to perform a factory default reset.

You can see the options available for your AirPort Extreme by opening AirPort Utility, by clicking on the image of the AirPort Extreme, and then click Edit in the window that appears.

Click on the Wireless tab at the top of the window, and then click Wireless Options near the bottom of the window. Click on the country selection box to see the options available for your AirPort Extreme country.

Apple is doing to "regionalize" airport routers, so, for example, that if you bought the AirPort Extreme in the AirPort Express to the United States and Europe, the country on the extreme options will only show of European countries, so that the country on the version options American Express shows countries in the Western hemisphere.

Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the Forums of HP, I would like to draw your attention to the Guide of the Forums HP first time here? Learn how to publish and more.

I read your post about the way your computer displays a pop-up message prompting you to update the installed wireless card. I'd be happy to help you in this case!

If you encounter any issues connecting to a wireless network on your computer, I wouldn't count the update as crucial. If your computer is having problems connecting to the network, even if the problem is intermittent, it may be a good idea to install the update.

I hope this helps, and if you have any questions or concerns do not hesitate to post back!

I have a HP Pavilion dv6t-7000, equipped with the Ralink RT5390R wireless adapter.  For the life of me, I can't get it to connect to my home network when implemented as 802.11n.  They connect other devices. • HP dv6-6c10us: HP dv6-6c10us Broadcom 802.11n wireless adapter does not work after windows 10 installed

I have a laptop HP dv6-6c10us with a Broadcom 802.11n wireless adapter.  It worked fine on Win 7.  When I upgraded to win 10, it has stopped working.  The driver has not been updated since 06/02/13.

Until the driver is updated by Broadcom or HP, this computer is now a desktop computer.

Any suggestions on how to get the adapter wireless on Windows 10?

I recommend you to go back and do a system restore to a point before started to install the automatic updates, and where worked the wireless.

Then download this tool that stops updates to install automatically.

    https://support.Microsoft.com/en-us/KB/3073930

Hide all of them and then install one by one until you find the one that is to destroy the wireless connection.

When you have found the culprit just hide it again and it will not be installed.

You can create a system restore point each time you install an update.

Tedious, but you should get where you want to be.
