C5180: paper upside

I want to print data on pre-printed forms, but the printer gives the error message "Uppside down paper" (my translation for "Papper upp - och nedvänt" I'm Swedish).  If I turn the documents upside down printing, but on the wrong side of the form. How the printer indicates that a document is upside down and can I say that it doesn't like?

Hi @Per2,

I would like to allow you to print on your preprinted forms. The issue may have to do with paper sensor. the printer, but there are a few things I can think of for you to try:

  1. Try changing the paper type "Automatic" to "Plain paper" or "other inkjet paper.

  2. Try to print in draft Mode

Old as the C5180 HP printers have a sensor can detect the type of paper. As you can see, this can sometimes become a problem. If the problem persists, you may need to try something a little bit Orthodox such as stick a piece of plain paper inside the printer up to cover the paper sensor.

I hope this helps. If one of my recommendations help you to solve the problem, please click Accept as Solution so that others can see that your problem is solved. Thank you.

  • HP Envy 5644: Photo prints using far too much ink.

I just bought this printer today.  When you print on regular paper, it prints just fine.  When you print pictures, he uses a ridiculous amount of ink so that the paper is still damp several hours later and so stained, is not recognizable.  I use HP photo paper supplied with the printer and the cartridges that came with it.  If I can't get this resolved I'll take back to the store for a refund.

I'm getting the same problem when Windows 10 printing than printing from my iPad.

Thank you for taking the time to answer.  I use HP Advanced Photo paper, it came with the printer.  I went through the process of re - load the paper and the verification of the configuration of the printer.  I realized that I had previously inserted the paper upside down, so it was printing on the back of the paper (my previous printer had photo paper loaded in the back, so it was the other way around).  Once corrected, the prints are very good.  Thank you for your help - I am happy that my muppetry has been solved before I took the printer to the store that would have been even more embarrassing.

  • Automatic two-sided printing

Software for the D5360 does not support two-sided automatic printing in Windows 7. It must turn the page manually. Is there a work around for this?

    Hi Malcolm,.

I had this printer before, then maybe we might be able to understand this.

A couple of things to check:

    1. Automatic printing equipment 2 faces is firmly attached to the back of the printer:

      1. If you look at the back of the printer, you should see an attachment to the rectangular research that fits on the back of the printer... This is what really turns the paper upside: check that it is firmly fixed on the back of the camera.
    2. Open the printer properties dialog to verify that "Auto" is not an option in the "duplex printing" drop-down menu.
      1. Probably the easiest to go to 'START' / 'Devices and printers' and right click on the printer icon, then select "Print Options".
    3. Click on the tab "features."
    4. On the right side, the 'paper Saving Options' shows ' double-sided printing: ": click on the dropdown under that to see what options are available to you... you should see"Off","Manual"and"Automatic"."
      1. If automatic is there, select it and then try to print a double-sided document.
    5. If you do not see "Automatic", close this dialog box for now.
    6. To return to the dialog box "Devices and printers", right-click on your printer icon again and this time select "printer properties".
    7. Select the tab "device settings".
    8. At the bottom of the dialog box, you should see "installation Options".
      1. "A two-sided (for printing on 2 sides) unit:" is to be considered... with two options: "Installed" or "not installed."
      2. Make sure that "Installed" is selected.
    9. Click on apply, then OK.
    10. Then, return the properties of the printer as before and make sure that the option "Automatic" is available and active... and then try to print a document both sides.

Oh... and by the way... you happen to see error messages, etc.? Or is printing automatic duplex not an option your seenig?

    Kind regards

  • C5180 tells me that paper is the right size or type is incorrect.

I have a photosmart c5180 all in one. I started having an error message, the incompatibility of paper. size of paper or type is incorrect. I used the same paper in the same place for years. I did everything I know how to fix.

    Any suggestions?

Normally, it is thanks to sensors of paper in the paper from the printer tray. If the paper sensors are dirty, damaged or blocked, then the printer will display a paper or paper Mismatch message.

There is a document in paper Mismatch questions located here.

Let me know how it goes.

I have always used HP printers, but my last printer Photosmart C5180 all-in-one gives me problems especially if the printed page is wet. • Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong with C5180

Thank you for reading my post. I have a Photosmart C5180 all-in-one printer. I do calendars for my children. I have a PC with Windows Vista. I've been printing these for two years using the HP Photosmart Essential software. I am trying to print a picture of 'full page' on 8.5 "x 11" photo paper. I get a message saying that the image size is too large for the paper. I'm going goofy trying to get this image full-size to print. I have done many times before and can't happen now. Any suggestions?

    Thank you very much

Thanks Matmaria for your suggestion. This does not, as did nothing else I could think of. I think that sort of 'Vista' was behind all this. I was pulling my hair out. Finally, I downloaded an updated version of the Photosmart Essentials and it allows me to do what I was trying to do. Thank you again... Smurfsdad

  • C5180 home networking problem

    Printer:  HP Photosmart C5180 all-in-one

    OS:        Windows 7 Ultimate

History:  Had DSL and installed the printer without problems using the IP printer and WIN7 Installer.

Passed to FIOS and received a new router wireless and new ips for everything.  A laptop is connected to the printer via the port USB... works very well.  The other laptop I tried to connect to the printer via the network (wireless and inflexible to the router) without success.

Wrestling:  When I had DSL, the screen of the printer worked fine. UH... then, for some reason, uh, it stop working.  I'm no expert, but there was this time when some paper stuck internally and I disassembled the top and rear it ever-so-carefully. However, during reassembly, the top fell back and pulled out a few ribbon cable... maybe those two things are correlated... in any case, I did retrieve the jammed paper.

Gaps:  I can't figure out how to discover the new ip of the printer, and ""Add a printer"in Windows 7 will not conclude it on the network (the printer displays networking lights: green and orange flashing at random)"

    Any help is help.

PS I know where I can get a replacement ribbon cable?

Okay, either HP and the border do not mix with the ethernet or the HP some how broken when the guys from Frontier moved my netgear ethernet cord to their router/modem...  I give up... bought a new printer.

    Thanks for the 411.

  • T1100: Question paper T1100 power

Reported problem that is paper load, but does not advance properly resulting in superimposed.

I'm waiting for more details and will post as soon as they are available.

    Hello

He aldo would be a matter of paper.

Are you a print from a roll or single sheet?

If you want to confirm if the motor and the drive roller are mobile, you can look under the printer when it print.

If the drive roller is moving, but the book is not, the problem is the paper.

    When I realized it's because:

-The paper has been loaded upside down

-L' printer was against something that was the roll of paper and PIN

    -Not to unlock the PIN

-Paper to lourdes for the printer

-Not using the axis on the printer, but a set made for the roll of the book it was great to fit on the printer.

Check these things, I hope that the cause is on this list.

    Best regards

  • HP e-all-in-one 8620: paper stuck - 8620 HP e-all-in-one tray

I pulled out the tray paper (there is only one) to remove a paper jam. I accidentally updated the tray rear paper in a corner and now it is going in or out. It is about 3 "in its slot. I tried out with the printer in its normal position and also with him upside on carpet so I can see the underside paper tray. Is there some buttons or levers, I should be pushing or something else to try?

    Thank you very much.

Hi @bdgrfan76, welcome to the Forums of HP!

I understand your test paper is now stuck in the printer and will go properly, nor can remove you it. At this point, I suggest use you a force to remove the status bar only. I wouldn't try to force, it would be best to remove it and reinsert it.  If the set is damaged you will need to order a new plateau and can do this by using the HP part Surfer.

I hope this helps and good luck to you.

  • HP C5180: Printer color problems

I have a HP C5180 printer and printing color is messed up. My black watch diagnosis page than black, yellow-green with yellow strips, Lt Cyan shows as a dark cyan, cyan is white, Lt Magenta is dark blue, Magenta is Lt. blue. Anyone know how to fix this... I changed the printer cartirdges... the same problem. I cleaned the print heads. several times and followed the suggestions on the tech support pages. I would not only use this printer as a black and white printer.

    Hey @TomTwist,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I would like to help you today to solve print quality problems you are having with your HP Photosmart C5180 all-in-One Printer. Because you have already replaced the ink cartridges and clean the printhead several times nothing is done, there is a good chance to have a defective print head. The print head is what reads the cartridge and puts ink on the page. On your print head template system is a non-replaceable part. Therefore, should that do not pass part a replacement of the entire unit would be necessary. However, I would like to go through the following steps to conveniently solve this problem of quality.

I won't make you run any printhead more clean. The rule is usually 2 or 3 clean makes no difference at all, don't make a fourth because when you clean the printhead system it uses ink in order to rinse the ink system. If 2 or 3 clean make no difference that you're just wasting if you run a clean more.

    Step 1: Calibrate the colors:

    1. open the printer Toolbox: HP Solution Center. This should be on the desktop of your computer.

    2. If you have more than one printer installed, be sure to select the correct printer tab in the HP Solution Center

    3. click on settings

    4. click on print settings.

    5. click on printer Toolbox.

    6. on the device Services tab, click color to calibrate, and then follow the instructions on the screen. The procedure takes about two minutes and requires two sheets of paper.

Source: The printed colors are not colors should

If the problem persists, please continue to the next step.

Step 2: Align the print head:

    1. click on HP Solution Center's on your desktop

    2. click on settings.

    3. click on print settings

    4. click on printer Toolbox.

    5. on the tab Services of device the printer, Toolbox, click align the print cartridges, and then follow the instructions on the screen.

Source: Streaks or lines in the printed Image

Please test print once these two steps have been taken. If the issue of quality still persists, because you have already replaced your cartridges the next step would be a replacement of the entire unit.
