C6180 incorrect ink cartridge

I replaced the Cyan ink cartridge in my HP PhotoSmart C6180 printer.  Now I have an error on the printer screen saying ' Incorrect ink cartridge - ink following cartridges cannot be used after the initialization of the device and must be replaced (for cartridge Cyan triangle symbol).

I noticed that the old cartridge HP C8771W part number.  The new cartridge was the HP C9339W part number.  Both cartridges were packaged in a combo package '02'.

I thought about it myself.  The C9339W cartridge is for initialization only.  The C8771W is used after initialization.

  • Photosmart C310a: Incorrect ink cartridge levels

I've been looking for assignments on the questions of my printer does not print black, but by some steps, I came across a new show.

I bought new cartridges from the printer (all HP cartridges).  I tried to print head align failed.  Then, I went through the cleaning head which has not yet improved printing black so I ran through the second level of cleaning head that did not always help.  But right after that, he noted that all three color cartridges are now very low on ink, giving the warning triangle above each color cartridges.  I know that cleaning is supposed to use ink but why all three new cartridges read vacuum/low after only two cleaning cycles?

I'm still working to try to solve the problem of black ink and manual cleaning of the print head is my next step.

I had summer through steps that included soaking the heads of two times and nothing worked.

I finally find just the print head in warm/hot water for a while until that no more ink are out the print heads.  Leaving the head dry and put it back, I was then getting prints in black but very very light.  Then I found how to do a reset of the printer, and after the reset, it finally started printing normally.

But he always reports that each of my nine cartridges are out of ink.  So I don't want to go and spend another $60 for cartridges, so I am going to trash this printer and go buy another HP printer 'NO '.

  • HP c6180 printer: wrong cartridge on c6180

I have HP printer c6180 and I put new cartridges and now it says "wrong cartridge". What can I do to solve my problem

Hello @Yasss and welcome to the Forums of HP, I hope you enjoy your experience!

I see that you have problems with the cartridge.  I would like to help!

I recommended to remove cartridges from the printer and starting by a power reset.   Unplug the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug back in the printer. Make sure that you connect the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any surge protector or power bar.

I would also recommend following the steps outlined in this document:

The "Unjust of the ink cartridges installed" Message appears on the screen color graphics

Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting operations. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums!

  • Pro LaserJet M1212 nf mfp: Pro LaserJet M1212 nf mfp new ink cartridge prints on the desktop, but is no longer in the laptop!

My printer is on a network home, connected as follows: desktop computer (USB); laptop (wifi).  I installed a new toner cartridge (secondary market) to replace an empty ink cartridge (secondary market).  Printer initialized and started on 'ready'  No error message.  A sheet of test sent my desktop prints fine, but my laptop refuses to print.  I have re-installed the latest version of the HP printer software/driver, printing and Scan Doctor (P & SD), which States that I have an error "printer."  I re - run P & SD several times, and at one point, a pageprinted test, but now nothing.

    Solved!

Turns out that my installation of a new toner cartridge somehow missed to the top of my firmware, which reset the IP that my phone listed for my router.  So, I restarted the printer default, then re-installed the printer on my laptop and desktop with the latest firmware.  I needed to set the IP address - type it manually in the portable installation wizard - because the laptop kept one IP incorrect broadcast by my router, (which is meaningless, but there you have it).  Thanks to Sam in Calcutta.

Desktop or laptop work fine, now.

  • Fax without new ink cartridges

I'm on the phone w/hp support. My problem is that I rarely use my photosmart C6180 for anything other than printing in black and white or the TRANSMISSION of faxes. Support tells me that I still need new ink cartridges for the TRANSMISSION of faxes! Given that this unit was again I've never used the color option. This seems to be nothing more than a scam to sell ink cartridges. No fax machine I've never previously owned had need ink to send a fax. Can I override the default cartridge replacement? This has left a very bad impression of HP with me, and the pain of implementing this account to send this email did not help either. What happened to send a simple message to their topic How to pee, I am at this point? If I can't solve this problem without them charge me because she's been out of warranty will certainly play a huge role in my next purchase.

I'm sorry that you are experiencing this issue. Your printer does not work without all the cartridges inside the printer. When the cartridges are empty, the printer won't boot.

You will need to replace the cartridges before you can send faxes.

  • Photosmart 6520: Pass a printer ink cartridge to another

I have two printers of the same model @ our two different houses.  I did this so that I can take them w / me, so they don't dry out.

Im sure that black is not almost empty but left the impression. Can I change them & have printer to recognize ink levels?  I get the message that I have installed a used cartridge

The ink level information is tracked in the printer, not the cartridge *.  If you move a cartridge of one printer to another, the amount of ink used in the first printer is not available and the level of ink in the second printer will be 'unknown '.   (And...  If you then replace the cartridge for the original printer it may be also incorrect, since the first printer will not know how much ink has been used in the second printer.

Photosmart 6520 has permanent non-removable print heads.  You should always leave the ink cartridges in the printer.  If the cartridges are removed and left for several hours the printhead can dry out, ruining the printhead.

The message here is a troubleshooting document links for the Photosmart 6520.  If steps it do not solve the problem, Please contact the HP Support, even if the printer is no longer under warranty.   If the foregoing is not satisfactory results so thanks for posting here.

  • HP ENVY 4500: Ink cartridges HP Instant

I just bought a map of the HP Instank ink. I'm about to use the first black cartridge, but I still have another cartridge new color I need to use. I start support fully if I use only one cartridge?

    Hey @EMJ-00.

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that you have some questions about the instant the ink program. I can help you with that.

When you print, the system determines if an instant ink page is printed according to it there a moment cartridge in the printer. If you insert the black cartridge, your only color pages into account. My suggestion is to insert two instant ink cartridges and save the color cartridge for emergencies.

Please let me know if that solves your problems. If so, please click on accept solution. If you appreciate my help, please click on the thumbs up icon. The two icons are below this post.

  • Black ink cartridge will not print

Putting in a new black ink cartridge the printer says it's there and full of new ink but when printing it don't use it. It happened the last time that I put in the black cartridge and I managed to do it finally work but don't remember what I did. Why is this happening?

With printing black ink is not like that, there are only a few things you can try, and it looks like you did most of them. If the steps described in the following paper the link did not help, then you might make a physical print head cleaning. Bob_Headrick gave the steps to do this in the post below. If none of this does not work, you can either replace the printhead by contacting the support of HP, or you will need to replace the printer. If you are still in warranty, HP can replace the printer without cost to you. I'll link the information to get in touch with them below. The link takes you to a form to fill out. Once you fill it and she is treated, it will give you the printers warranty information, a file number and the phone number to call.

  • Problem - has ink cartridge but no printing appears on the paper

I have a printer of HP Deskjet 4200 all-in-one with a relatively new ink cartridge.  The printer prints white - nothing appears on my paper.  The last time I used the printer (with the same cartridges) was four months ago, and he was fine.  To my knowledge, nothing has changed (parameters, etc.).  I can't figure out how to get the printer to print anything.  I could go out and buy new cartridges, but ones I have is barely used, although only around the age of 6 months.  And the problem seems to be both color and black print (printer has two cartridges) - so I made me think that it would not be a cartridge problem.  Any suggestions on what I might try?  Thank you.

It is possible that the print heads have become clogged due to sitting for so long unused.  Try to run the three cycles of cleaning of the Toolbox.  If it does not recover the printhead, then place 1 "of very hot water in a cup and watch the nozzles of cartridge in hot water for about five minutes.  When it comes gently dry the printhead on a wet cloth dry contacts of the cartridge, then reinstall the cartridges in the printer, and try another cleaning cycle.

The printer will not print anything (including black and white which is my default setting), at least that I have installed a new yellow ink cartridge.  He says that the cartridge is exhausted and must be replaced before printing.    I have black and white printing color cartridges? Is there a solution? Thank you very much.

    DavidDavid salvation,

Yes, you will need to replace the yellow cartridge to continue printing. Here's a good explanation of the design of the print mechanism, and what is needed to keep them in good working condition. Your printer is user replaceable print head. With this printer's ink lines that need to be filled in ink in this way that the print head should not be clogged jets in turn cause poor print quality problems.

HP, as other printer manufacturers, offers you with permanent print heads printers requiring ink for all colors, avoid the print heads.  HP, like some other manufacturers, also offers printers with user replaceable print heads.  These may of may not require ink in all colors in print, even though damage may occur if the print from the cartridge empty.  Finally, HP as some other manufacturers also offers printers with the printhead into the ink supply.  He is replaced at each change of cartridge.  These printers will happily print with a diet low, empty or many deleted completely same models.

When you buy your next printer (from HP or from another manufacturer) be sure that you understand what is the type of printer and choose one that fits your needs.
