Can't scan with HP OfficeJet 4500 G510g-m Windows 7

Hello

I made a new installation of the software from the official CD. Printing works, but I can't scan!

When I right click on the printer and select run a scan, nothing happens. Can someone help me?

If you have installed through software that has been linked to above, you should have an icon on your desktop or in your programs that will allow you to control your actions of the printer. So in this software under "Scanning" or "Scanner Actions" you can use and control your scanner to your computer. The "Scan" function you're talking about is probably a virus scan of one of the programs on your computer, not a real scanning application.

Here is more information on scanning if you need more help in the future:

Let me know if I got this right!

  • Can't scan with HP Officejet R40xi

    Hi all

I hope that someone here can give me a little help. I just installed windows 7 on a computer that was previously under xp. When I went to plug my Officejet R40xi with a usb connection window went through the process of detection, automatic and found the driver as usual. However, when I tried to test everything I noticed that the aircraft was to appear as a printer, but not as a scanner (it worked on xp). I looked on line and tried a few other options. I double checked to make sure WIA ran, tried scanning paint, windows photo gallery, etc., as has been proposed in many articles that I found and I even tried to start the HP scan diagnostic tool I've seen referenced but it has not yet detected that I had a scanner. Nothing has worked so far and I'm almost at a loss. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi realTrev,

Follow the steps below to check the WIA Service:

    1. type services.msc in run or search and files program

    2. scroll the page up to the WIA Windows Image Acquisition

    3. make sure that the service is running. Click on stop and then restart to ensure

    4 restart the computer

    Restart the services of dependencies:

    1. Click Start, in the search box type 'service ' without quotes.

    2. scroll down until you see Windows Image Acquisition (WIA).

    3. double click on it and go to the Dependencies tab.

    4-2 services must be listed.

    5. close this window and look for the remote procedure call (RPC).

    6. make sure it's on manual or if it is enabled automatically, just leave it. Make sure the service is started.

    7. go to hardware detection kernel and Double click.

    8. set the Startup Type to manual and click on apply.

    9. you should be able to start the service by pressing Start.

10 now, you are done and the Twain Manager must work and gives you is not a mistake.

    Check the dependencies or sous-dependances:

Right-click WIA (Windows Image Acquisition) by selecting the first Properties , and then click the dependencies tab. It should list: remote procedure call and Detection of Harward Shell

Under the CPP, it will then list DCOM Service Process Launcher point final RPC Mapper date back to the start all the items listed as dependencies or dependencies under WIA void list main services.msc and right click then

  • Can't scan with HP Officejet 6500 E709n Wireless

I've used the scanner before without any problem. I have Windows Vista. I tried to scan yesterday and got the message: no scan options and refer to the documentation for the device. I ran the diagnostic analysis, HP Scanner TWAIN of the scanner did not and then the HP scanning application no longer works and I got the message to remove my printer software and reinstall. I did and received this message: the old version of HPSSupply cannot be deleted contact technical support. Fatal error and MSI. SUBCOMMITTEE. I was initially using the wireless printer. Since yesterday, I reinstalled the software twice and tried both wireless and USB cable. No luck with either.

P.S. I tried reinstalling again and got another fatal error message, this time with a number: 1714. Then I looked at the HP site and found the message below. The problem is that I have Vista, not XP. Now what? Thanks in advance for any help.

  • HP Officejet 4500 G510g-m: displacement of fax line dedicated to sharing with phone line.

I have a HP Officejet 4500 G510g-m all-in-One and Windows 7.  Never any problems.  In recent years, I have been fax from a dedicated line, separate from my regular telephone line.   I decided to save money and my phone line fax.  Other that simply move the fax line to a separate socket to the same wall jack as my phone and change the fax number box, is there anything else I should do?  I did not move the phone cord to a different port on the fax - should I?   I already ran a fax test and passed.

    Thanks for any info.

9/29 - I just had a friend try to fax to me.  The phone rang and rang even if I set to 2 rings.  It's never logged and sent a fax.

9/29 again - I have an answering machine.  I changed it to pick up to 4 fires and fax to pick up 6.  I had a friend try to fax, it has not been connected.    He received my faxesbut that I can't get any sound.

Looks like the problem may very well be Vonage. Since I msgd you I found 6 people with the same problem and none of them have been solved. I'll have to give up and return to the dedicated fax.

Thank you very much, Rich for all your help. It was a pleasure to work with you. It's just a pity that all your hard work has not solved the problem. But at least you know if someone else asks you for help with the same problem and they have Vonage, it's hopeless. Laughing out loud

I have Officejet 4500 g510g-m connected by USB to a Toshiba laptop that is running Windows 7.

I got and error message "software HP is perhaps not able to scan the destination by default because the software is not available or does not work properly. When a scan of the printer is done using HP diagnostic every thing works fine if I get this error message.

I wonder if the problem with Windows updates. Between updates of Windows I can usually correct the error messages and the printer scanner works fine. This time, I can't solve the problem.

If you receive a message about no Scan Options, so it is possible that the software has not been activated for scanning with the printer.  Have you opened the Solution Center on the computer and tried to update the scanning to... settings in the settings tab at the bottom right of the window to the solution Center?

with 2.50 GB of memory. With Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit. Every time he tells me that I can't open the cause of box tool, that it is not connected... Printer, scanner and fax will appear on the control panel. Then, I made a full recovery on my PC and tried to install it again.

How can I uninstall this thing and get out all the old files and get my right rear register. Also, how can I get this printer to work?

I did a microsoft Fix - it for windows tools, I ran a Revo Uninstall, then I did a disk cleanup.

  • Failure of the scanner, HP Officejet 4500 G510g-m

    Hello

I have a HP Officejet 4500 device that cannot do anything requiring the scanner to work, including scanning, copying and faxing. The display shows meanings cannot be made due to a "Scanner failure".

I tried troubleshooting (resettings the device and others) and they did not help. Here are the details:

When I turn on the camera I have here a few mechanical noises (which is natural, it movesthe cartridges and all that) and then, at the end of the power process, the scanner lamp turns on and is moved one inch to the left along the surface scan (below it, in fact), then returns to its place in the extreme right and the error message is displayed.

    Device: HP Officejet 4500 G - 501g - m

Mac OS X Snow Leopard (10.6.8), even with Windows 7 64 bit.

Error message: "failed to scan. Unable to scan, copy or send a fax. Press OK. »

No changes were made to the computer or the device, just, it began to arrive one day, a few months after the purchase of the unit.

What can I do to fix this?

    Hello yonyz

It looks like the printer may need maintenance. It must always be in warranty if its only a few months old. If you follow the link below, you can contact HP.
