problem I can not burn DVD or cd rw, I get a file error CPP writer line 306 invalid block address I tried to solve this problem of resetting my computer back to factory settings, it did not work please someone help me because I don't know this kind of problem, this happens only when I burn a large amount of files
The burner is probably a failure. Swap it out for a well-known work. If that solves the problem, take the original drive. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

Looks like the lens can not calibrate correctly.
The objective must be calibrated before using the media. Each media need to another status to calibrate. If this calibration doesn t work properly the drive cannot read or write media.
Well, in this case there are not a lot to do.
The drive needs to be replaced. But have you checked if the engraving option has been enabled on the drive? If this isn't the case, in order to check it out.
-Right-click on the DVD drive-> properties
-Go to the menu point record
-Enable recording for the DVD player -
I can not burn pictures on a DVD + RW. I use Verbatim DVD + RW discs. When I try to burn photos, I get the message "Please insert a recordable/writable disc". I can burn photos to a CD, but I want too much DVDs!
Help, please! I am not technically minded so please keep this in mind when replying
Across the Atlantic, it seems that way. If you put in a DVD movie is the little icon for the disc switch to reflect the title of the movie? The test would be if you can boot from a bootable DVD as a Windows 7 install disc or any other bootable DVD. We strive to rule out hardware vs software and if the DVD player works before Windows starts so the problem are software and a replacement of the drive will not help. If she can't boot from it, then it's a hardware problem. It is not the upper and lower part thing of filter, you can fix with the automatic setting of Microsoft or it wouldn't work for the CD, either.
You can also try a disc cleaner for the lens that you can buy at any store that sells a lot of DVD movies.
So before you buy the replacement, try my suggestion above, if you can. In the contrary case, it sure looks like material.

Cannot burn files to CD/DVD more? (Windows 7)
This problem is everywhere on the internet but I have yet to see a solution that is tailored for someone else to do a system restore that is not an option. I burned the files on my internal drive by dragging and dropping them in the folder to the blank disc, then click on burn. A few months ago I went through the process as usual (insert a blank disc, he asks what I want to do and I choose to burn cd, it opens the folder to the blank disc) but when I went to drag and drop the files in the folder to the blank disc, nothing happened. I dragged and when I released in fall, they do not appear in the burn list.
(1) I tried to use Windows Media Player instead, and I couldn't also do drag or drop files in the burn list here.(2) I tried selecting the files, then click on burn instead of drag, and they still do not appear in the burn list.(3) I got our admin check user for burning strategies and burning has been activated. We disabled and then enabled again just in case and still no difference.(4) I have not download or install something new on the computer or bring other changes to this computer before what is happening and neither did my admin, there may be something that we did it. The only changes that the computer would be crossed before that happens are automatic updates of windows.(5) it is not the disks. It does not work with the same discs I have always used so I tried six different other, different brands, and the behavior is the same only they are all burned fine on other computers. It also does not matter if I am on CD or DVD.(6) it is not the drive. When my admin logged into his account on my computer, he was able to drag and drop and burn as usual it seems there is something to do with my profile specifically.Any suggestions?Hello

Something to say: windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration (in the registry) information is incomplete or damage (Code 19).
Click on 'Search the soluton' to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available.
I did it but the result is COULD NOT LOAD DRIVER SOFTWARE.Please advise what should I do?
Thank you!

RomanHello
The error log doesn't provide very useful information.
According to this error log, the simulation was running OK, but the burning process has not been started.
In such cases, it is very difficult to say why it happens. Maybe the drive is damage and cannot calibrate the lens correctly or using media is not compatible.
Burning the process depands on the fields and the data that prefer to burn.
Data, CD, DVDs are encrypted and it s is not possible to burn and copy it.
In other cases, you can also try to burn media with low speed and not with 24 x.But to sentence case you the reader has a malfunction and you need to replace ;(

Hello
In addition to the fact that you can boot from the Toshiba Recovery CD, I think that it s a problem of training material
I think it's a matter of calibration of lens readers possibly the lens can not calibrate correctly in the right position of s, and this is why the drive can't handle the inserted media. This could be the worst case, because this fault is repairable by replacing the drive.

Satellite A80-129: Mat * a DVD - RAM UJ-830 s cannot burn DVDs
MODEL: SA80-129
DVD RAM TYPE MAST * A DVD-RAM UJ-830 S
SYSTEM: WINXP
SOFTWARE: NERO(1) DVDRAM CAN READ CD AND DVD EASILY, IT Burns CD WELL, BUT cannot burn DVDs, IT SHOWS: G:\ IS NOT ACCESSIBLE INCORRECT FUNCTION, UNTIL IT WORKS WELL. the blank dvd is not a problem, before I used even type a blank dvd to burn.
(2) even allow the recoding in the properties, the properties shows the Virgin dvd 0bytes.all PROMTLY ANSWER would BE MUCH APPRECIATED.
It doesn't sound good.
I had a similar problem of combustion and the end of the story, I replaced the drive ;(
However, try to remove the drive from Device Manager, and then again to restart the operating system should recognize the device again.
Then you could check if it able to burn the DVD s s.
I think you should also try burning different DVD media.I have visited many work sites and the reader, and especially the calibration lens malfunction could be responsible for burning problems.
This could be a worst case and in this case, the replacement is necessary. -
Cannot burn DVDs on my Satellite C660
I just bought a new complete Satellite C660 and I cannot burn DVDs.
Tried to burn with the recovery media creator, Nero, IMGBurn and all fails at around 75%.
When I tried to burn the recovery CD as I was asked that they have failed because of a problem STARTING...You can create DVDs from recovery use preinstalled Toshiba recovery media creator. Please test using DVD-R media.
Have you tried using different media of high quality as TDK or Verbatim?
Sorry, but this startup message said nothing to me. I've never seen something like this, even if I created several on several laptops Toshiba recovery disks.

Satellite P755-S5262 cannot determine if the DVD drive can burn a CD or DVD
I recently acquired the P755-S5262 and cannot determine if the DVD drive can burn a CD or DVD.
The description of Toshiba wrote:
Drive DVD SuperMulti (+/-R double layer) supporting up to 11 formats but I can't imagine that a laptop of this caliber cannot burn a CD/DVD.I can't find an answer or a description nowhere else.
Someone on this site/forum can answer my question?
