Power the computer off last night, he said "stop after installing updates", so I just left the office.
Is here this morning, the computer will not re-start in safe mode or safe mode with command prompt.
I get the "Sorry for the inconvenience" screen
A ran a chkdsk and rebuild bootcfg
When I try to start in safe mode, it seems to load takes with several lines of things like:
    "multi (0) disk (0) rdisk (0) partition (1) \WINDOWS\system32\ntoskrnl.exe ' etc, etc.
then hangs just at a black screen with the last few lines of that on it.

  • Cannot restart after optional updates from Microsoft. Down arrows don't work when in the loop boot selection page

Went to Microsoft Update and downloaded and installed a few optional upgrades, including one about a driver. After installation, will not restart. Arrive at the page Windows XP will then black screen and then the boot selection list. Is "glued" to the normal startup and arrows don't work for go mode without failure or any other option. He just times down, try to reboot and loop. Help!

    Hello

    Have updates you installed?

You can check the KB number for the update in the update history:

    1. Click Start, click all programs, and then click Windows Update or Microsoft Update.
    2. on the Windows Update Web site or the Microsoft Update Web site, click on view update history.

Step 1: Unplug the power cable, the keyboard and mouse and then reconnect it back. Now, check if you're able to boot in safe mode (by using the arrow keys) or normal mode. Send back the same.

Step 2: Alternatively, you can restore the system from the recovery console.

    Hi givepaulhelp,

Since you was not able to continue the analysis as possible you have spyware or virus.  Here are a few options for scanning your system.  No one program can catch them all.

Two more days but I'm getting nowhere other than having may be a better solution on what is false. It seems that, although the Windows Genuine Advantage Validation auditor finds that my copy of Vista Ultimate is valid, it always returns a 0x80070426 error (also an error 0 x 80070002). I can't turn on the software licensing service and various functions do not work (for example control panel, windows update, audio). The report below (now that I finally understood how to generate it) will probably be helpful to someone who knows more about this stuff than me.

I tried spyware and malware scans of four different programs all came the harmless (other than tracking cookies) empty, so I think that the problem is related to my registry get corrupted when I tried to install an update to Windows (or IE8). My problem looks roughly the same as that for the guy in this link: http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/genuinevista/thread/5c956fd9-0ade-4841-8383-c53e93d47680 but before I try something stupid, please give me a start. (As I have tried scannow and I can't boot mode safe (only ' disable the drive Signature Enforcement'), the solutions in this link don't work anyway) I think that it all boils down to getting the software licensing service to work and maybe a few other corrupt fixing registry entries. Could a SP2 install on do I cure everything?

  • Disable the auto restart after auto update

I can't express how frustrating, it is at the foot of two hours of hits for a drink, to return to my job cancelled by an automatic restart after Windows update. This kind of thing has happened several times. And as I have a Vista Home Premium, I did not have access to group policy to turn off. So guys, how to prevent windows to lose more of my work with its seedy characteristics? Thanks in advance.

iPad will not restart after the update iOS9.3. Should force us the reboot?

By restart do you average will not turn on?

There seems to be a bit of a problem past, especially with older models of iPad 2. Some people have reported success after that restore their device via iTunes, for others that it has not worked and all they get is a message "bring it in an apple store.

Since it affects a lot of people, I think it's safe to say that the problem lies in the range of Apple. But I don't think it is recognized or no matter what put forward fix.

You can try to restore your device, or you may just be stuck waiting to see if a fix comes out.

  • Windows will not restart after running updates.

The last 2 times I ran the updates my computer will not re-start automatically.  Blue screen appears with the message indicating that Windows has been arrested to avoid damaging the computer.  If the first time screen seemed to shut down and restart.  Then a message says that if a software or a hardware had been recently installed must be removed. Why Microsoft Webcam has been reinstalled during execution of updates that I don't know.  Running updates the problem or software for this webcam?

    Hey RetREMF

We cannot say what update is the cause of the problem

one thing that you should never get 3rd party drivers from windows update hardware

Find them directly in the hardware manufacturer's Web site

I suggest that change you how to receive updates to try to find the exact problem, we by installing one at a time

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial140.html

Download updates but let me choose whether to install them - if you select this option, Windows will download the updates on your computer, but not install them automatically. If you want to install updates, then you must install them manually. You should only select this option if you have a reason to not install updates automatically. Only advanced users should use this option.

Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them - if you select this option, you'll be alerted when there are new updates available for download and install. You can then choose to download and install the updates that you want. This option should really be reserved for people who know exactly which updates they need or who have limited access to Internet

  • No email after downloading updated 38.1.0 to level; uninstalled, reinstalled 38.1.0 38.0.1 - still unable to download email - and - no new profile not generated with rei

After automatic update to Thunderbird 38.1.0 (PC, Windows 7 OS) - can download is no longer the primary email (server settings: i; card;) SSL/TLS; Password normal); Anti-virus: Sophos; the download is attempted with notice that newly installed Thunderbird 38.0.1 is connected to the server, imap, but email client continues to attempt to download and above all, do not ask for password to download. Old profile copied and replaced after downgrade and install the 38.0.1. Strangely, after installed decommissioning of 38.0.1, no new profile file has been generated in the profile folder (users / * name * / AppData/Roaming/Thunderbird/Profiles); also, when newly installed launch 38.0.1, the display returns to what seems to be, 38.1.0. A strange situation that I can't solve after 3 uninstalls, installs computer re-boots and 38.0.1. The result appears as if 38.1.0 has never been uninstalled. I would like suggestions. Thank you.

Thank you, smokva - I solved by contacting the staff of the imap server and has been rectified which seems to have fixed the problem at their end. However, my last resort if he fails again, download, create a new profile, as you suggest.

  • Win7 (Home Premium) cannot start after "important update"

I just bought a new PC with Windows 7 Home Premium pre-installed. After an update that Win7 launch is no longer, instead the PC reboots from the BIOS. Now, as I write to you from my old XP system, I do that I can't do this post shouldn't indicate that I found a solution. Using the utilities available / suggested at this stage, I can't understand what the 'important' update was so am not able to retrace the steps that may have caused problems. Currently, I run the system recovery, so maybe in a few minutes, I might be able to use the WIN7 PC again. However, I would like to know if anyone else is / has been faced with this problem.

    Hi isamart,

First of all, I suggest to start the computer in safe mode and see if you can boot to the desktop.

To boot to the desktop in safe mode keep tapping key F8 during restart. Once you see the option to start in safe mode select and press to enter.

Access the link to learn more about how to start the computer in safe mode: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

If you are able to access safe mode, you can try to check the update installed on your computer and remove it and check if that helps.

To view and remove the updates installed, follow the steps below.

    1. click on start

    2. in the start search box type appwiz.cpl, and then on enter.

    1. click on view the updates installed in the left pane.

    2. take note of the recently installed update in the list and remove the update.

    3. restart the computer and check if you can start.

If the steps above fail, you try to perform a system restore on your computer to an earlier date and check if you can boot to the desktop.

To restore the operating system to an earlier point in time, follow these steps:

    1. Click Start, type system restore in the search box, and then click System Restore in the list programs.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

    2. in the System Restore dialog box, click on choose a different restore point and then click Next.

    3. in the list of restore points, click a restore point created before you started having the problem, and then click Next.

    4. click on finish.

The computer restarts and system files and settings are back to the State they were in when the restore point was created.

Access the link below to find more information about the system restore.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/what-is-system-restore

I hope this helps. Let us know the result.

    Thank you and best regards,

  • Problems with Windows Update after downloading updates on the internet. Need to update Windows disk.

Where can I get a disk of windows xp service pack 3 update windows?  When I download updates for windows, Internet, I loose my internet connection.

    During the download?

Ask someone else to download it and burn it to a CD for you if you really need to get SP3 and that your Internet connection will not allow it for one reason or another...
    http://www.Microsoft.com/en-US/Download/details.aspx?ID=25129

I have to ask - that's all you need?  Is there a reason that 4 years after its release you download it?  You perform a new installation recently?  What service pack level is your current installation of Windows XP?

  • STOP 0X7E and rolling restart after Windows update

    Hello

My apologies if this has been covered before.  I did a search and have not seen this covered.

I'm working on HP zv6000 laptop computer a parent with Windows XP Home Edition.  I do not have the recovery disks that may have come with it, and there is no recovery/repair hard disk partition.  Sometime in early January, after a reboot due to the installation of the updates of Windows, he went in a rolling start scenario.  After several attempts, I got to the screen automatic reboot temporarily disabled and advanced boot options.  The error it gives is:

STOP 0x0000007E (0xC0000005, 0x89891E7A, 0xF78DA7B0, 0xF78DA4C) parameters with.  No module name is given after the error message.

The laptop does not start in safe mode.  It restarts after loading mup.sys.  I don't know which module occurs after that in the boot sequence, which told me a lot.

I suspect a driver issue, but do not know how to proceed from here.  I can get into the recovery console via a XP Pro CD and can start with a BartPE disk.

Can I turn off the drivers of one of these means?  If so, how do you identify which those who have been installed around January 9?   Once identified, is debilitating as simple as move or rename the driver file?

    Thanks for your suggestions!

    All,

The problem has been resolved by doing a repair of the Home CD from the manufacturer of the Windows XP installation.  It restored the laptop to XP SP2 status.  I installed the SP3 and later updates, but refused to install 3 updates of pilot.  Everything seems to work OK.

  • Cannot restart after failure of the accident or the power

I have two Sandisk Ultra II 240 GB SSD and this has happened at a time using Windows 7 and Windows 10. Basically if my laptop is not closed properly - off without shutdown or restart, the laptop completely failed to restart Windows. This has happened on Win 7 and 10, but at least 10 gave me an error message with an error Code 0 x 0000185 and something abut my MSConfig being unreadable file or something. Whenever I have to wipe the hard drive and reinstall Windows and watever I do, this happens again and again and cannot restart the computer. Is this a bug? I tried this with a total of three different Sandisk Ultra II SSD and it happens over and over again. Help?

    Hello

This could be related to any other equipment that you use on the specific computer, so my suggestion would be to try one of the disks on another computer to see if the problem is in the car.
