  • Drive hard not in my computer but device and computer management Manager

Hi all... I have some extremely important irreplaceable files on my second hard drive. Today, I bought an external to save them, and when I turned on my computer, I was unable to get the disk. The drive is listed as "RAW".

Then I tried to start to recover files of any programs online, they just finally estimate a 35 hour and counting wait and then my computer crashed. So I restarted and now the drive is unrecognizable in "My Computer" but it is listed in the device (such as a storage device) Manager

I tried 2 diff computers and also 2 different external case with the same result.

For any help or suggestion is very appreciated!

    Thank you!

    Hello DMoneyPros,

    • What is the status of the hard disk in disk management?
    • Your external hard drive appears as a raw management disk or hard drive Partition?

If the disk hard not not display in Windows Explorer appears in disk management, this means that the hard disk is raw and is not formatted?

You should try to assign the drive letter of the hard disk in the disk management and check if it appears in Windows Explorer:

    Change the drive letter:

    1. open computer management by clicking the Start button, click on the Control Panel, clicking system and Maintenance, clicking Administrative Tools, and then double-click computer management. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    2. in the Navigation pane, click Disk Management.

    3. right click on the partition or drive that you want to change and then click on change drive letter and paths.

    4. to change a drive letter, click on edit, click on assign the following drive letter, click the letter you want to use and then click OK.

  • Drive external hard drive does not appear under "devices."

    Hello

I just updated my OS to Sierra of MacOS. I have connected my external hard drive (HDD) and it does not appear under "Devices" in my Finder window. It worked fine before the update.

I use a MacBook Pro (end of 2013), currently running MacOS Sierra (Version 10.12). My external HARD drive is a SeaGate Slim SL Media (500 GB).

The external HARD disk appears in disk utility application. He also appears on the about this Mac > system report > USB. I don't know what the problem is, the external HARD disk is identified but does not appear for use in the Finder window.

I read that it could possibly be in mode 'sleep' and putting the MacBook to sleep (while it is plugged into the external HARD drive) and it to wake up again should solve the problem. However, it did not work. No more restarting my MacBook. It was mentioned in another post that it may require extra power, so I attached power adapter and again, without success.

I do not want to clear the contents of the external HARD drive.

Is there a way to get my external HARD drive works as expected with my MacBook?

    Thank you much in advance.

    I also have this problem.

My camera is Macbook Pro 13 "retina 2015 and Seagate Backup more 1 TB (NTFS - Paragon NTFS)

    * Edit *.

My HDD show in report system > hardware > USB

but it does not show in Finder or Desktop.

  • external hard drive is not displayed in disk utility

I have a drive (2 TB) seagate desktop external hard, while the backup time machine HDD power adapter was pulled from the socket. Now the hard drive is not recognized (both on the utility disk and office) of my mac pro book works on os x el capitan, seeing the hard drive is disabled, but I can feel and hear the operation of the hard drive. Also when I hang up my iMac running os x yosemite on the hard drive can be used and seems to work very well.

I tried to reformat the hard disk, but it has failed it is still not recognized on my mac pro book

    Hello amartnez,

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support.

From your post, I see that your drive external hard seagate was pulled from the socket during backup with Time Machine, and now it is not recognized by your MacBook Pro. I know how it is important to ensure that you are able to connect your external drive to your Mac. I have something I want you to try.

Because the external hard drive seems to be working on another computer (iMac), please try a different USB port on your MacBook Pro and see if it recognizes the external hard drive on the desktop and in disk utility. If so, that means you have a problem with this specific USB port on the MacBook Pro.

    See you soon!

  • My optical drive is not displayed in "Device Manager" the eject button does not work

    Latitude Dell with Windows 7

My optical drive does not show in the "Device Manager", the eject button does not work - I can only eject through the pin hole.

This means that the drivers are missing or that the disc is broken?

    I tried to restart.

    Thanks in advance

Original title: Reader in mind windows 7

Its possible the drive has failed. Is this an internal or an external drive? In both cases, make sure that all cables are properly connected and functional, including the power cables. If its a USB external drive then try another USB port.

But, assuming that you tried to update the drivers (get the latest compatible drivers on the manufacturers for your brand/model/OS(32/64 bit) PC support site and install to see if that helps - first set a system restore point)) and then see if this MS article helps - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/mats/cd_dvd_drive_problems?wa=wsignin1.0

  • Custom Script Agent - do not display under host

    Hello

I tried to create my first agent custom foglight 5.5 following some blogs posted here, the script that I use is the following

    off @echo

    NETSTAT - year | Find/c '8080' > D:\scripts\test\QAS_Count.txt

    FOR /F "tokens = 1 delims =" % in (D:\scripts\test\QAS_Count.txt) set QAS_Count = %% a

    echo QASCheckScriptTest TABLE

    echo START_SAMPLE_PERIOD

    echo Host.String.id = TestHostString

    the echo of QAS = % QAS_Count %

    echo END_SAMPLE_PERIOD

    echo END_TABLE

I tried to keep it as simple as possible just to try it. all I want is the number of connections on a specified port.

I managed to create the custom agent, deploy the agent to the host package, create the agent and enable it to collect the data, the log file indicates it collects data and there are no errors. I lived a few interactions of the script work some other product of errors in the agent log.

However, my problem is that the agent does not appear under the host in the form of agents, I have waited long, restarted the service of fglam but no joy. I tried to clean the system of my first attempts, thinking they can cause problems but still no joy.

I'm new to foglight no idea where start with this problem? also, I have the feeling that it would never work without removing all traces of the previous agents\deployments\scripts can someone explain how to remove everything from the system

    Thank you

    KeV

    Hi Kev,

If agent is producing a correct output, but the measures do not appear in the model of the FMS, there is probably an error in the processing of these metrics on the FMS. We have seen this before when there is a conflict between the definition of the current version of the script with an earlier version. If you download the FMS log file and look for references on behalf of your script, you will probably discover the source of the problem. Often, you can work around a problem like this by:

-change the name of agent script,

-change the name from agent table, or

-explicitly delete the previous definition of the type of agent

On these corporate work stations (mobile), I'm not able to view the files on the hard drive or flash drive.

I need your help so that I can save files from the internal hard drive of the mobile platform of book z hard disk external.  And I need to be able to reconnect the external drives and readers to the Zbook mobile workstation to transfer files to transfer flash.

These are the pop ups that appear for each when displaying of readers by opening my computer:

    Access is denied.

Make a right click on the hard drive allows opening of the FreeAgent GoFlex drive (H properties)

The tabs are ReadyBoost, previous Versions, Quota, customize, general, tools, hardware, sharing, security

By clicking on security of advances and then permissions then continue and then change my name owner or administrator... both methods result in the same access denied result once again.

I came across this http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/00d04415-2b2f-422c-b70e-b18ff918c281 is this something I need to study and learn before I am able to connect and use an external drive or flash?  Or is there another problem?  If the answer is in this link, do I have to put emphasis on and why wasn't windows 7 configured so that it is easy to use external drives as in win xp and win 8?  Are all usb ports do not or all drivers of failing or is it a software problem all?

I was not able by trial and error to display all files on any hard drive or external flash on the two books of z of mobile workstation.

Then I went to the flash drive.

Left click on the flash drive produces a pop-up with title bar G:\

You don't have permission to access this folder.

Click on continue to get permanent access to this folder.

After clicking on continue it opens another pop-up with title bar G:\

You have been denied permission to access this folder.

To access this folder, you will need to use the Security tab.

When clicking on the Security tab he opens a new pop with the title bar: removable disk (G properties)

The tabs are general, tools, hardware, sharing, ReadyBoost, customize

He did not indicate what to do next.

Here is the new mobile workstations HP Z book 17.

Microsoft said that HP is responsible for the operation of win 7 in the first year for the operating systems pre-installed

HP elite support doesn't know how to solve the problem with the USB ports on the two books of Z is not able to provide access to external hard drives or flash drives

These two mobile workstations have problems of USB port with all the ports on each computer?

These two mobile workstations have problems of windows 7 where the client has to learn how to use the registry to store external hard drives internal hard drives?

What does do to be able to back up files on a disk external hard drive internal?

Have to do to be able to use flash dirves with a 17 mobile workstation z book?

    This problem has been resolved.

The book of Z 17 HP installed their software: HP Client Security.

This software prevents the use of external hard drives and flash drives in its default settings.

Each customer is on their own in discoverinv and the resolution of this problem.

There is no warning.   He made no information on why a right click on a drive and checking the property do not work.

The way in which this issue has been resolved was by a clean boot process in msconfig.

When miscrosoft services were hidden items that remained were read.  Systematically, some were checked and unchecked, and the computer has rebooted to see if the problem was still in existence or if the problem has disappeared.

Whenever the hard drive or flash drive has been verified.

We were lucky that we checked to see if it was or not HP software at the beginning.  This problem was caused by the default client security HP who were to refuse all USB connections.

This consumes a lot of time and was so frustrating.

On the first book of HP Z 17 thin client HP security biometric authertication failed with a black screen.  The computer is about 15 days old.    All the dirvers for the HP notebook have been uploaded and then the software for biometric devices have been downloaded.  HP determined that it was a hardware failure of the biometric device, when drivers and software downloads together has not fixed the problem.  This computer had / has the same problem with not allowing communication with any external hard drive or flash drive.

HP did wrong by not providing any information on the inside of this product the HP support assistant.

Here's a consumer might encounter problems:

The HP support assistant on Z book provides updates of drivers for windows, but the support phone number book mobile z is not listed.  There is a phone number, but it is a regular support, not z book mobile support or elite support.  Mobile Z book users are supposed to call the number fo elite press and the number is for a regular support on the wizard of book z mobile support.  Support assistant has cat support method and the HP chat support is not trained to book support z mobile.  There is a feature to contact the technical support and the transfer of data to the technician, and again, it goes to regular support who is not trained to support the mobile z book.  If you call the phone number provided some of the choices on the automated line includes desktop, laptop and office work.  If you choose Notepad you won't get z mobile workstation support.  If you choose work center you will get no support of z book mobile workstation.  Instead, you must have someone answer and then ask to be redirect to support elite.  On the first call, you never know that the support you are looking for is elite support until they give you this information on the next contact.

After many hours spent barely pull on the problems of not being able to view files on an external hard drive or external dirve flash, I was able to change this HP software.  It now unfortunately produces a humming noise when parts of it are displayed.  This has not yet been set.

It is the customer of HP security information:

    http://www.HP-ProtectTools.com/downloads/PDF/HP_ProtectTools__EnterpriseDeviceAccessManager_Whitepaper.PDF

There was no information to reconfigure the software in the white paper.

I was able to find a user guide.

This guide was not and was not available through the HP support assistant:

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c02292692.PDF

Hope this helps all who are unable to view the files on their external hard drives and external flash drives.

The thin client HP security prevents click right change of ownership and prevent changes, right-click in the security, etc..  Change of Director fails also as the client security administrator HP overides too.

So end users must change the HP Thin Client Security so that it does not block access to files on external hard drives or flash drives.

  • 32-bit printer driver need, not supported under win 7, will be 32-bit FireFox provide the release?

New win 7 64 bit computer. Sharp AL1451 printer has no 64-bit driver, so I can't use it with Win 7. If I install the version of FireFox 32 bits, the printer can be installed and it will find the 32-bit driver?
The printer is OK on old Win XP 32 bit system.

If the printer cannot be installed on Windows itself, Firefox cannot find. try to use an older version of windows to the printer drivers (eg. a driver vista Windows 7) that sometimes works. But no, Firefox doesn't have the printer drivers and can not. It relies on the operating system.

  • HP Envy Ultrabook 6 t-1000 CTO: HARD drive is not displayed

    Hello.

I had the Windows Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) once or twice when using simple everyday applications on my Ultrabook. The results were either not different on Mode without failure. After awhile, I started having 'No Bootable disc' error while starting up. Recovery (press F11) will not appear so. I tried the HP Diagnostics (by pressing F2 at startup) and Test the hard drive as well as the Test of memory shows PASSED on the formats of short or long.

    I tried the following:

    1. I did some research on Google and entered in the BIOS/Insyde utility (by pressing F10 at startup), loaded default installation (by pressing F9), saved changes and did a restart, but I get the error again.

    2. I downloaded Windows 7 64-bit Microsoft store, created a boot USB and plugged. I was able to access the Windows Installation Page, but he wouldn't show my hard drive at all.

    3. I find the support page of my product on the site HP and downloaded the latest drivers, put it in a USB device and booted up the system from the Windows Setup disc. On the page where it was supposed to show my internal hard drives, it showed only USB drives and there is an option "Load Driver" I clicked on and selected the driver files I downloaded from the HP website. Everything was going well until I chose iaStor.inf... this time, the system has hung up and the BSOD appeared with an error stating the file 'iaStor.sys '.

    My questions:

1 if diagnostic Tests are passed, I can assume that the material is well?

    2. Although I already placed an order for HP recovery discs, I doubt if it could help because my HARD drive drivers seem to be missing. What is your opinion?
    3. is there a way to reset zero/reload drivers BIOS/Insyde utility?

    My system features:
Laptop model: PC portable HP Envy 6
Product no.: A9G58AV (the back panel laptop says A9G30AV)
    {Information}
    Processor: 2nd generation Intel Core i5 - 2467 M CPU @ 1.6 GHz + Intel HD Graphics 3000
    BIOS version: F.0D
    Total memory: 4 GB
Operating system: Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
HARD drive: 500 GB 5400 rpm SATA RAW 7mm hard drive with 32 GB WSSD faster reduction of the hard disk Cache

Unfortunately at that I disagree with Paul and I think that you may be looking for a bad motherboard, but we would like first to try to remove the disc of WSSD 32 gig.

    Here is the Manual:

    Repair manuals

See Page 40. Unfortunately, this model is a little difficult to disassemble, but measures are set out in the manual. If it is still under warranty, you can't do that. If the hard drive passes the test of F2 then I tend to think that it's not the hard drive.

But when I tried to download anything on the F drive (already together, without having to travel) by using the Download Manager it saved successfully but is somewhere in the c drive
I'm tired out now... Can do you for me?

    Hi xdeeep,

As readers do not appear in disk management, the problem is likely related material.

Check if the drives are detected properly in the output system BIOS (Basic). If they are not listed, it is possible, that the discs are damaged.

If the drives are listed, try to perform a system restore.

System Restore can return your files system to a point in time before you noticed a problem, without affecting documents, photos, or other personal files. If the system restore does not resolve the problem, you can undo the restore operation and choose a different restore point.
